Brilliant day out, lots of whales everywhere. Staff were great and food was good. Can’t recommend them enough

What an incredible trip! We absolutely loved it.

1. We spent a solid 6 hours out on the water, and we had the privilege of seeing so many whales. Some of them even came right up to the boat, and one even gave us a spectacular spout! 2. The meals were simply delicious. They served us morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, and every bite was fantastic! 3. The captain was a wealth of information, sharing so many interesting facts with us. Plus, all the crew members were super friendly. This trip was absolutely worth it! 🐳🌊😄

Best day ever

Was a bucket list trip and it was better than I dreamt about. Fantastic staff, plenty of lovely food and heaps of whales, lots of mums and bags.

Amazing experience for anyone!

Amazing trip today. Everything was perfect. Skipper Toni along with Matt & Abby were really great hosts. Everyone was part of trip, searching for whales, asking questions, was really great. A great selection of food was served.

Not to be missed

Can not thank Toni the Skipper and her wonderful crew, enough, for treating us so well. Been doing this every year since 1996 and this was the best experience ever. So many pods of whales to see due to Toni's ability to spot and approach with such great care. The respect for other boats was impressive. Good commentary, play list and food. Tried every tour operator, this was the best.

Amazing day out!

We had an amazing day observing so many incredible whales. The staff were very attentive and we were told about the whales and their behaviour as we observed them. Food was delicious and it was good to be able to move around on the boat with the smaller group numbers in the tour. Will definitely do this trip again - next year hopefully. Thank you to the staff of Freedom!

Unbeatable whale watching experience

What an amazing day!!! Toni and her crew were fantastic, very hospitable and knowledgeable. As a bonus we got to see plenty of whales and never felt rushed or that our time with any particular pod was cut short. The food was plentiful and delicious. A truly unbeatable day!

Highly Recommend

While the whales were plentiful and truly amazing, the staff made this an exceptional day. The weather was less than perfect but Skipper Toni, Abby and Matt went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed the experience.

First class trip

First class trip. Three quarter day gives at least twice as long at the whale bay than a half day trip. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Boat was comfortable, and they serve complementary tasty lunch and afternoon tea. A brilliant day out.

Fabulous experience

We had the best day. Expertly skippered (thank you Toni), we found lots of pods of whales. We even attracted a mother who felt comfortable enough to let her calf come right up to the starboard side. We watched mothers teaching their young to breach. It was fantastic. Also many thanks to Liz who was the best whale spotter, and kept us well fed and looked after us throughout the day. Love the fact that you can go into the wheelhouse to experience the skipper at work.

Best Whale Watch cruise ever!!

My wife and I had the most amazing day with Freedom 111 Whale Watch. It was certainly a bucket list experience for us. Not only did we get to see an incredible number of whales up close but we were also treated to a restaurant quality home made lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea, plus a glass of wine to boot. Toni is so passionate about the experience and Chris plus all the guys bent over backwards to ensure the best day possible. We highly recommend this cruise. It needs more than 5 stars.

bucket list tick

A bucket list tick for my wife, and it was a fantastic trip. The staff on board were excellent, the skipper very informative and knowledgeable. really good lunch and morning and afternoon teas. Just the right size boat, not overcrowded, and pretty comfortable. We saw about 28 Whales, some very friendly, overall it was just great.

Good company, great boat and crew, and wonderful whales doing their own thing.

Being able to interact with a "wild" animal in it's own environment. You could tell that the young whale was enjoying being with us on Freedom 111, as we were enjoying being with him. I think the R & R music helped as well. He played around the boat for over an hour.

Awesome day whale watching with Freedom

Excellent whale watching tour with Skipper Toni, Rhys and Adam they were all fantastic and make you feel welcome and at home on board Freedom 3 , great hospitality. We had a great day and the skipper ensured the best opportunity for whale sightings working with all the other boats out on the water great communication and commentary shared throughout the tour wonderful show of respect for the majestic whales. Lovely food and was plentiful, the music playing on the return journey and at lunch was great with seeing the whales interested in us and checking us out we were so fortunate to have lots of pods of whales throughout the day especially 2 inquisitive humpback whales that came to the bow of the boat to check us out and hang out for at least a good hour, we also had interactions with a large green turtle , dolphins and dugongs such an amazing day …thank you Toni , Rhys and Adam - we will definitely be back and be recommending Freedom 3 whale watching to all of our friends as a must do trip with you’s.

Excellent in every way.

Excellent in every way. Ten out of ten, or five star, whichever way you want to view it. The bus driver collected us from our accommodation and was very helpful and friendly. Three crew on the boat were very attentive at all times. Handing out sun screen and sea sick tablets to anyone needing assistance. Three meal times were very well catered for, and the whales were so close to the boat. A most enjoyable experience and so professional. Very highly recommended.

Fabulous day cruise with Toni and the boys. Great atmosphere, friendly fun staff and great food. Catered for dietary requirements with no problems and don't forget the fabulous whales....brioliant

SIMPLY AMAZING

We had an amazing day, seeing at least 20 whales 🐋 mothers and new babies, young juvenile whales and a few of the big boys playing a game of chase. The whales came right up to the boat and even sung us a song it was simply amazing.

Fabulous!

Went out on Freedom III yesterday (23/8/23) with my sister and mother. It was my first time whale watching and it was wonderful. The crew were so considerate, slowing when we had food to navigate, bringing food to the people who couldn't manage and generally so polite and obliging. On that, the food was terrific and one couldn't go hungry! I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone.

Freedom III, go with the best to see whales!

We had a fabulous day out on Freedom III absolutely amazing! So many whales and so close to the boat where they stayed circling around and very friendly. The skipper and crew were fantastic and provided us with a great day out. Beautiful morning tea of profiteroles and scones, lunch and then afternoon tea of fresh fruit and cheeses. Freedom III is a great choice to go whale watching, this was my 5th time with them and never disappoint. It only takes approx 46 people so no one misses an opportunity to photograph the magnificent whales. Thanks Freedom and her crew, we will be back again next year!

Whale watch experience of a lifetime

We have done many whale watch tours both here in Australia and overseas. This was by far and away the best experience we have ever had. The skipper, Toni, and the crew Erin and Matt were outstanding. The food was excellent - especially the morning tea of scones and profiteroles! Well organised serving to manage the guests, especially at lunch time. This boat only takes a small number of guests, which is ideal when whale watching as it is easier to move around the vessel to different viewpoints without being crowded out. The viewing was excellent because of the design of the vessel. As the skipper said - it was "whale soup" out in the Bay and the whales decided our day was the day they would put on a show. We experienced the LOT - breaching (oh so much breaching!), tail and pec slapping, spy hops, mugging (coming right up to the boat and swimming beneath), rolling on to their back and flapping the pec fin. We saw a mother and calf. Such an exciting day. Of course we were exceptionally lucky. Not everyone will experience such a day, but in Hervey Bay you are most likely to experience much of what we did, because of it being the pit stop, as it were, of their massive migration journey. Freedom III really is a good choice for watching whales.

A very special day

We had a great day. We got to see several different pods of whales and they came very close to the boat. The Captain was very good at keeping the boat fairly still when we had food served and that was very helpful. The food was great. I enjoyed every bit of it and the servings were generous.

A Great Experience

We took the whale-watching cruise on Monday 7th August. The relaxed commentary and food catering is excellent. The size of the boat allows a good vantage points all round. We saw a large number of whales which climaxed in the afternoon when several of them decided to play around the boat. You could almost touch them. We were able to enjoy this extended display as no attempt was made to return to the wharf on time., We finally arrived back one hour later than scheduled. This concession shows how customer orientated this company is. They deserve their awards.

A fantastic day out

Crew knows how to find whales and how to get their curiosity humming. The whales are just as interested in us as we are in them. Topped off with delicious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea

Wow wow whales

What a brilliant day trip. The team at Freedom are fantastic and experts at seeking out the whales. We saw so many I lost count! The food is all homemade and the best I have ever had on a tour. The large boat has tiered seating and numbers are kept low so everyone gets the best view. Fun and friendly the crew make it a very special experience. Thanks Freedom. Tip: bring a wind cheater or warm top as it can get windy outdoors in certain conditions. Tours start from July.

Absolutely fantastic experience!!!! The whales are so beautiful and inquisitive. They came right up to the boat and wanted to check us out! Skipper and crew are lovely and very informative. One of the best experiences we have had for a long time. Can’t recommend enough! Great value for money as we were very well fed throughout the day as well.

I can't even begin to say how great this was! Great crew, great food and so many whales so close! Easily one of the best things I've ever done. If you're looking for a well run, small group whale watching tour, this is the one for you. 5 stars isn't enough!

Magical day out

Amazing vessel and crew. They do everything to make you cozy and to find whales and get as close to them as possible. We’ve been fed really well during the trip. I chose it because it’s one of not many full day tours, that increases your chances for encounter and I’m glad I did that, because we found the whales up close only when we were returning back in the afternoon. This is magical to see them very close to the boat. They were right next to the boat, checking us out. Sadly still mostly under the water, but very very close. I really enjoyed just the day on the boat on itself. We’ve been lucky to only have 9 passengers and this is a miracle that the trip is not been cancelled. The owner said they don’t like to disappoint people. I really value when businesses take care about people and not just money-making. This is one of those where they are passionate about what they do. Pickups and drop offs are a lovely bonus.

This tour was excellent. The staff were wonderful, engaging and professional. We got to see lots of whales. The food was fabulous and in abundance. The boat was immaculate and very spacious. Appreciation of a special adventure.

The crew and skipper were excellent. Our trip was enhanced by their knowledge, fun attitude, welcoming nature and catering was good , especially scones and profiteroles. The skipper and crew’s knowledge of whales and whale behaviour allowed for great viewing of the whales. Our group learnt a lot about the area and the whales .

Fantastic

Impeccable trip, we were ready to go back today with disappointment when we couldn't find any whales at the beginning, but after 11:00, the captain helped us to find whales, and more than one of them, I think we saw about 10 whales in the whole day, which is worth every penny, and they provided all kinds of snacks, fruits and lunch, which is recommended. The crew is very enthusiastic, busy and focused on their work and fulfill all kinds of requests from the guests. Note, the photos and videos of the whales are on a different camera, so I can't upload them at the moment, but please believe that this is really a good season to watch whales, especially if you choose the right team!

Well worth the money

Great day out, great friendly staff, Toni deserves more money, what a worker. The sea was a tad rough but the skipper did a great job with the roller coaster rides. The food was pretty good also, scones with jam & cream for morning tea,, fresh salad w cold meats for lunch , cheese & bickies &fresh fruit for afternoon tea. Really loved our day out, even saw a couple of whales, but I believe it was too in the season for a better look.
