Its worth the money!

Riding ur bikes through the picturesque lanes of Goa can be one of the best therapies/escapes you could ask for. I was lucky to have Cedric who was very patient with us considering it took us a while to get comfortable riding on the streets. But 15 mins down and the bike ride turned even more fun. Cedric took us to a very old Portugese house where we were served the platter of wine shots(all amazing). We specially loved the uphill ride to Altinhos which wasnt very difficult thanks to mechanics of the bike. Please do not miss this at any costs! Its worth the money!

Memorable experience

It was a great way to explore Goa. Loved riding the e-bike which was a smooth experience. The package included really great places.. be it pretty lanes of Fontainhas, Beautiful houses around, loved visiting bakery and wine tasting experience needs a separate review in itself! Our Captain Cedric was really patient and helped us navigate in our own pace. Loved listening to the history of places as we went along. All in all great experience :)

Lot of fun

It was a lot of fun to take this ride with our captain Cedric. He was very good. We learned a lot about the history of Panjim/Goa. I highly recommend this tour and the guide.

Special tour!

Such a fun experience!! We learned so much about Panjim - the history, the Portuguese influences - and saw both sections of the city. Touring the Fontonas House was so special! Sedrick was a wonderful guide.

Engaging Tour

Cedric was a great guide, and did an amazing job of bringing the history of Panjim alive for us. We biked through the old town, saw some nice architecture, and got a taste of the local flavours. Exploring by bike let us experience the town at a unique scale and speed.

Informative and kind leader and assistant, perfect

We went on the tales and trails Panaji tour. Amis our tour guide was exceptional with so much information about the area to share (including old town). He answered all our questions, was cheerful and passionate, and quickly adapted to get us a new bike when one of our group’s bike was faulting. Shraddha who assisted the excursion was also very friendly and made you feel at ease throughout. The drinks and snack with a local also encapsulated the kind and fun nature of Goan’s, sharing his homemade wines and stories of his home and heritage. Packaged together with a taster of Goan puddings at a local shop this trip really was all you can ask for. Only change I could make is the motor on two bikes of our group of 11 (total) became slightly faulting on the hill and e-bikes take a moment to get used to. Regardless the bikes were replaced quite quickly. Ideally we would have also stopped at the beautiful red building on the way up the hill. Hope to be back soon.

Fun and informative

A fun and informative way to learn about Panjim and Goan history. Lots of treats and surprises along the way. Very good for people of all ages and fitness levels. Captain Cedric did a great job keeping us safe and helping us understand more about his home land, thank you Cedric!

Totally worth it!

While we were upset initially as the tour was late without intimation, finally the entire experience of e bikes was amazing. Amazing captain named Cedric who took us through the journey wonderfully. 4 rating only cos of the late start else it is excellent!!

Great experience. Informative!

Cedric was a good guide and captained us all the way through. My 12 year old was a little apprehensive riding the bike on the busy street at first but enjoyed it thoroughly after we went into Fontainhas and the rest of the tour. Only word of caution is that this is a solid 2.5 hours, with a 30-45 min prep before. So plan for a 4 hour block to be safe. Recommend this overall!

Great Bike Tour

The bike tour was great fun - Cedric kindly led us through the beautiful city of Panjim. He took us to some lovely local places including the oldest bakery and the high point of the city. He was very friendly and professional - would recommend as a great way to see the town if you’re visiting the area!

Great experience exploring Panaji

Had a great time exploring Panaji. Chetan as a guide was very approachable and he gave us numerous tips on what to eat in Goa. We had asked for an earlier time slot and they were accomodating enough to get us that. The bikes are a little tricky in the beginning for a noob like me but you get used to it. Just mind the traffic.

LOVELY TOUR DE PANAJI

TOUR DE PANJIM I toured Panjim today. I cycled around Goa’s capital city this morning. Though I have been to Panjim – or, Panaji – I just discovered its quaint, peaceful side far removed from the busy, buzzy streets that house the commercial buildings, the riverfront with it casinos and that urban side of Panaji. I booked myself for a tour de Panjim organised by b:live. I got to take a tour of the city on an electric bicycle with Chetan Nandrekar, a young and smart tour guide. The electric cycle was a breeze although slightly heavy to handle, but it was good fun. We took off from their bicycle hub located a few metres from the Panjim bus stand around 9am. Rode over the bridge under which the Ourem river passes. Halted at Tobacco Square – the place which once housed many tobacco warehouses,the tour guide told me. Took a look at the old Portuguese-era buildings with my guide giving me insightful nuggets of information. We rode past what was once Adil Shah’s summer palace. Next stop was at the Panjim church. The church in immaculate white and the steps leading to it make for an impressive sight. We cruised uphill towards Altinho, passing by the quiet neighbourhood with impressive old houses that paint a pretty picture. Halted at the gates of the Archbishop house before riding down a hairpin bend where the Maruti temple is nestled on a hillock. Tucked away in a quiet spot where the temple is perched on the cusp of the hill that overlooks Fontainhas and Mala – two localities of Panjim. The fragrance of incense sticks burning in the temple and the quietude that envelops the prayer house bring peace within. A couple of dogs came barking, very dutifully, but then a bit of gentle calling out to them with a packet of biscuits did the trick. Animals make peace and friendship much more than their human counterparts. As the road winds downhill, you find a small water body that stands at the entrance of the mandir. We then headed to an ancient house in Mala. The host, Iris, welcomed us into his home. A beautifully maintained structure with its upper storey that has a wooden flooring. The living room has old tables and chairs of a bygone era, old cutlery in the showcases. A typewriter – Iris told me it’s a Remington noiseless one – sits on an old table with earthen pots jostling for space. This house is frozen in time, as it were. We then moved towards Confeitaria 31 de Janeiro – an ancient cafe in Fontainhas tucked into a quiet lane with colourful houses. The cafe boasts of a firewood oven over which an old bicycle is strung up like a piece of mural jewellery. I had a sliver of bebinca with piping hot coffee and a chicken sandwich. We cycled a little more, admiring old structures that seem to have stood still, as if defying the passage of time. As for my tour guide, Chetan Nandrekar is a walking-talking encyclopaedia. This commerce graduate is a perfect guide who has good knowledge of the history of Goa. His enthusiasm for the job that he does, his keenness to show you around are indeed impressive. Keen to take up a career as a uniformed officer, Chetan who is in his early twenties tells me that he loves to show his guests at b:live the “unseen and unexplored side of Goa”. Must say he does his job very well.
