DON’T WAIT JUST GO!

THIS TOUR WAS FABULOUS! Our guide, Stevie (or Steve) was kind, knowledgeable and very funny. He did a fantastic job teaching us about the history, geology, and culture of our surroundings. He did this with contagious humor and interest and showed an evident love of his job. This tour satisfied all our adventurous cravings, we tried local food (as per our guides suggestions) hiked gorgeous mountain trails (my favorite was the fairy pools), and walked around small villages of Portree and St. Augustus. The accommodation was fantastic - lovely, clean, spacious, and had complementary breakfast options. For the three day tour, days 1 and 3 had quite a bit of driving, though it was broken up by scenic stops for photos and food. Be prepared to be sitting for a while admiring the spectacular view of mountains, lakes, streams, cows, farms and more around you. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to explore the Isle of Sky, Highlands, and Loch Ness if you don’t have the time to walk it all yourself!

Amazing 3 Days in the Highlands

Karis was an amazing tour guide!! First time coming to Scotland to visit a friend who lives in Glasgow I decided to go with Timberbush tours instead of renting a car and I’m very happy I did. Amazing 3 days spent sightseeing in the Highlands and learning about Scottish culture. Karis was super knowledgeable about many aspects of Scotland including the history, fun facts, geology, and more. She had very entertaining and funny stories as well that went with the Scottish culture. She also gave great recommendations! The trip was hassle free. My friend and I did not have to worry about getting around since our bed and breakfast was so close to the town. Our bed and breakfast was so quaint and the owner made us a huge and yummy breakfast each morning. Very clean too! The 3 days was so worth it since we saw so much. Definitely worth it!! Timberbush and our tour guide did tell us to book reservations for the restaurants and unfortunately we did not listen. Definitely listen to them! It was very busy the 2 nights. We were able to get into a restaurant the first night but the next night we had to go to the local grocery shop.

Jada the best tour guide!

An absolute gorgeous trip being lucky with the sunny weather and the beautiful scenic views. What added to all this beauty was our amazing tour guide Jada! She was the highlight of everything with storytelling and squeezing time to show us everything. Very witty and fun and I really appreciate her effort to keep us on time. The trip never felt rushed at all, we had time to see everything and wander around. Highly recommend it

Awsome trip

Tour guide Mark was very friendly .The residence given to us in Portree was 15 to 20 minutes walk from city centre ,though some in the same tour were given residences in the city centre.So the residence given was not appropriate for the weather conditions.

Dunlevey Castle Gardens

We thoroughly enjoyed the gardens of Dunlevey. Even though there were areas that were in work, given the time of year we were able to enjoy the variety of flowers and trees in bloom. We really liked our tour guide, he made it a very pleasant experience. He even went out of his way to deliver my purse that I inadvertently left on the bus and to help us find accommodation In Edinburg after our reservations were cancelled by the owner. A great experience, we would recommend this tour, ask for Tom.

A terrific memory of Skye

We such a lovely time on our 3 day tour to Skye. . Andrew, our bus driver/tour guide, was funny and knowledge about the area and made sure everyone was comfy as he showed us places of interest. Great recommendations

Our Journey

The most memorable for me was the drive through Glencoe and the Isle is Skye. I felt like I was coming home! Our driver/tour guide was excellent. He had so many stories and showed us so many points of interest.

amazing beautiful highland with well organised Timberbush tour

As an independent solo traveller , this is one of the few tours I have joined since on the road years ago  . It turned out to be a very good experience. Timberbush tour is a well organized tour company- they keep me informed from hotel booking to the amended departure date. They offered the fair price with many options for the hotel and restaurant recommendations. Most importantly the tour guide / driver gentleman called Euan is fantastic , Clearly shows that he is well prepared and fulfilled the entire trip with his rich insight knowledge , clear speaking and  enthusiastic polite manner . He shows true caring to us  by playing  the selected folks songs, even the story of the famous myth of  Inverness monster .  I have learnt so much during the 3 days tour . Thank you Euan!  Highland is an amazing place . I highly recommend it.

Andrew picked us up on time in Glasgow, the mini bus that our small group shared was comfortable and had large windows for good visibility.We loved the many many stops Andrew made at the most special places. There was a lot we saw during these 3 days, snow covered mountains, clear lakes, sheep and cows. This was our first trip to Scotland but we saw and learned so much, we now know quite a bit about the country! Andrew knew a lot of facts as well as stories that he shared and entertained us. We had regular bathroom stops, a lunch break, and arrived on Skye in time for dinner. Very pleasant hours spent all 3 days.

Visiting the Highlands, January 2024

Brian did a great job! He has many stories to tell about Scotland. He showed paramount enthusiasm for his job. We enjoyed the tour very much. For someone who is looking to know Scotland, we recommend Brian and Timberbush wholeheartedly.

Absolutely loved our trip to the highlands, and Andrew T. was the perfect guide for the trip. Having grown up on Skye, he had tons of knowledge as well as many personal stories to share to bring that beautiful place alive. The accommodations they gave were great and Andrew T. did a great job of making the driving go fast. Would love to bring the rest of my family back on a tour with him.

Trip of a Lifetime!

Neil was a really wonderful guide! He was really knowledgeable, not only in the stories he was prepped to share about the sights but also in answering all of our questions throughout the trip. He was thoughtful of the group's preferences and was kind and helpful the entire time. It was a wonderful, memorable trip!

Shockingly rude & uninformed guide

I can’t believe David is employed as a tour guide. He is a bus driver. As we boarded the bus (1 hour late) he refused to offer his name. Odd. He gave no information about anything we saw along the way- over three days. When we passed (through) a certain town on the tour and I asked why it was significant he said a famous boxer was from there (turns out, SAINT PATRICK was born there). I asked why a certain castle we were visiting was historically significant and he said “a castle is a castle is a castle. It’s special because it’s a castle.” He couldn’t offer even simple facts about Scottish history or culture or customs. When I asked why we were stopping at Loch Lomand, hoping to hear its history and maybe have him play the famous song, he replied: “because it’s on the way.” He twice mocked “women drivers”- how is this individual employed by a tour company is baffling. If I had the time I’d fight for a full refund. Shame on you, Timburbush and Viator. Have had good experiences with Viator in the past and Scotland was stunning but what a waste of money for a bus driver and not a guide. In fact he said at one point: I am not a tour guide or historian, I am a driver!” Glad I had a guide book and Wikipedia with me. Beware.

Although it rained like crazy the sights were awesome. Andrew was our guide and he knows the area like the back of his hand.

Great trip with good history, lots of stops through a beautiful country.

This was such a wonderful way to see Isle of the Skye. The tour was wonderful with all of the side trips and Doug did a wonderful job giving us history of the areas we were traveling through and he played Scottish music to go with the stories. It truely was a great tour and I learned a lot. Our accommodation in Portree was wonderful also. Such a cute B&B.

Scotland highlands and Isle of Skye at its best

The knowledge and courtesy extended by Tom our tour guide was amazing. He made the trip both enjoyable and fun, he had a fantastic knowledge of the area which added that extra dimension to the tour. He provided us with an insight into the area in a way that enhanced everything we saw.

Our tour guide, Shelby, was absolutely fabulous! She shared stories about each of the sites and had music that she played on the tour that added so much to the experience! I highly recommend her tour!

Awesome Tour

This was a fantastic tour. We not only saw an a huge portion of the Scotish countryside but our tour guide Stewart Baillie even added a few extra stops into our trip and still had us back to our accommodations early. These extra stops included a ferry ride across Isle of Skye, a hike to Coral Beach, and several interactions with Highland Coos! We saw beautiful scenery, listened to great music, our tour guide told stories, and we made friends with everyone on our small group tour. Our accommodation in Portree was absolutely beautiful and the host was incredibly helpful. I really appreciated that the tour company sent out an email with a list of restaurants in the area where we could make reservations for dinner far in advance. I definitely recommend making reservations in advance for dinner because most places book up quickly and if you do not have a reservation, it is very difficult to find a place to eat. If you take a taxi while you're in Portree and your driver's name is Sandy, make sure to ask him about the Loch Ness Monster! We really had the best time and are so incredibly grateful we chose to book this tour. If you like small groups, beautiful sightseeing, and just having fun, I absolutely recommend booking. Also, make friends with your group and make the most of your trip!

Another world

Very good introductory tour. A lots of driving and sight seeing. Make you want to see more. For me personally - I like in depth experience and I will definitely be back to do it. Now I know where to go and what to see. Driver had great knowledge of the area and educated us along the way. He also had killer humor. Isle of sky by itself is like a picture - some places are begging to be put in canvas. Breathtaking. Talisker 18 year old whiskey tasting - cant really describe it, really uplifts you. Exceptional high. Sky ferry was great experience - we saw seals. Portree - beautiful small town. If someone is interested there is - Scorrybreac Trail just off to north of the town. Just before the trail to the left there is big 2 level waterfall. Also - Portree Walkway / The Meall and The Lump - there are rabbits there. If you wake up early in the morning there are not to many people in town - it is beautiful and idle peace in the harbor. Something I would recommend to enjoy. People where very chatty and welcoming. Rooms where clean and tidy. I had a great sleep on very comfy bed. Lady we stayed with even offer us to take some of the breakfast with us to the trip - what a great lady she was. I can write very long about the place - it really is another world. People do not lock doors there...

Isle of Skye Gives a Great Sense of Scotland

We did the 3 Day Isle of Skye tour with wee David and could not have been happier with the whole experience. David was so knowledgeable and really cared about checking in on us and making sure we had a good experience the entire time. Our 15 year old loved him, and you know how hard it is to impress teenagers! The pacing of the tour felt really good. We loved seeing the beautiful scenery in addition to the castles and spending time in Portree. Loch Ness was such a great way to end things on day three. There were also nice times when people had choices if they wanted to do extra things or not, which I always appreciate. Highly recommend this tour of you want to see your way around the Highlands. Plus, it was such a nice way to get from Glasgow to Edinburgh!

Great trip!

Absolutely wonderful trip! We would do it again in a heartbeat. Plenty of interesting stops along with timely bathroom breaks and for meals. Isle of Skye is gorgeous…do it.

Highlands and Skye are seriously breathtaking!!!!

Shelby was incredible! She has SO MUCH energy and had a lot of great tips to help our entire Scotland trip, not just the Skye tour. I give her a 15 out of ten frankly. The tour itself was breathtaking and the scenery is something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. The only negative thing I can say, the smaller tour bus was very uncomfortable to stay in for any extended period of time. Very little in the way of leg room. Shelby did great to program in breaks and rotated the guests each day to share the pain of the rear seats. That aside, we loved the tour!!!

Shelby told the stories in such a way that brought the characters to life. Her knowledge of the island made the trip one to remember. We never felt rushed and she planned adequate bathroom break time. I would highly recommend this tour and especially our tour guide, Shelby. She definitely made the trip!

Great tour, lots of fun.

The scenery and the commentary ( Our driver was Brian) we’re both fantastic. The tour was well organised, with great BnB accommodation but make sure you take the advice to book your dining in well before you go as the restaurants are extremely busy. The van was pretty comfy and there was consideration of passengers needs on plenty of scenery and bathroom stops. Would recommend for anyone👍

Best tour ever

Callum made the highland experience the BEST ever! He accommodated for what everyone wanted to see - a cattle, highland cows (it was a meet, feed, and pet experience), scotch tasting, and the fairy pools.

3 days of fun and learning

Our driver Paul was so informative and personable making the trip a real pleasure. Loved meeting all the other travelers in our group. Loved all the places this three day trip takes you, would do it again.

The trip to the Isle of Skye was a dream come true. The trip was amazing - the scenery, the company and the whole experience for all three days was wonderful. The tour was easy and paced providing time enough to have quality experiences over quantity.

A whirlwind tour of Skye and the highlands

Our tour guide was Brian who did an amazing job guiding us thru the highlands to and from Skye! He was very knowledgeable and friendly and he would tell us the history and stories of the land we were passing thru set to relevant music which was awesome. We stopped in: - Glencoe - Luss - Eileen Donan Castle - Portree, Isle of Skye - Old man of Storr - Lealt Falls - An Corran Beach (dino footprints) - Quiraing - Uig - Talisker - Glen Brittle Waterfalls - Eileen Donan Castle - Loch Ness / Fort Augustus - Perthshire Welcome Center Would absolutely recommend Timberbush Tours to anyone looking to book a tour in Edinburgh or Glasgow One thing to note: Glasgow tour gets picked up second around 10am; bus actually starts in Edinburgh so they do tend to pick the best seats

Last minute booking and so happy I did! Best short tour woth brilliant guide!

I made a last minute booking, made a week in advance just before the Easter break for myself and best friend to go on a 3 day Isle of Skye tour with either twin or 2 singles. The first operator we tried said only double bed available, so went with Timberbush and am extremely happy with the decision. The bus was tidy and spacious fitting 11 of us into the 16 seat bus, driven and guided by one of those tour guides that just is brilliant at their job. Shelby quickly warmed to us as we drove out of Glasgow, leading us on an incredible journey, giving the best taste test of the Scottish highlands and Isle of Skye one can manage in 3 days. Needless to say, thanks to this tour, I will be back, for many more trips. Thanks to the team for organising last minute accommodation and making the whole process easy. And thanks to Shelby, a wonderful, energetic and caring guide! This trip was a last minute change of plans for my best friends 40th that we ended up having clear skies on the road through Glen Coe to celebrate. It could not of been a better trip. I'm also glad the rain and wind came to create some wonderful weather for taking photos, giving me an idea of what to expect. Also, Shelby even hand drew on a map, the route we took, and where we stopped, the Scottish Music played which just made the whole trip so unique. Probably the best part about it was there was no feeling like we were being rushed, yes we had to keep moving, but every where next was just as amazing, that this is just a taster of what you can experience. Don't expect to spend all day somewhere, but log the favourite places to come back to another time, there is so much to see and Shelby knew so much!

Trip of a Lifetime

I am to this day blown away by the sites I saw on this trip. We had luck to have beautiful sunny days in order to fully enjoy the *short* hikes and some your mates even got to swim 😆 we had the most wonderful guide, Brian, who told the best stories and dad jokes. His music taste was on par and his energy and love of Scotland was easily picked up on by us all. (ask for Brian as your guide- you won’t regret it). I’ve made friendships with the other tour goers and all in all it was a beautiful trip with the loveliest of people. The accommodations and food stops were all delicious and inclusive as well. There was non stop fun. This trip made me deeply appreciate the beauty of Scotland and all it has to offer!

Fascinating and Amusing! 5 STARS!!

Callum did an amazing job showing us the sights and keeping us entertained while doing It! We left the tour with new knowledge and a new fascination of Scotland's history. He was interested in knowing what we wanted to see and made It a priority along the way to point out different things/view points we mentioned or asked about. We would recommend this tour to anyone who plans on visiting Scotland.

Do it!

Our tour was run by Timberbush tours and our driver's name was Paul B. He did a fantastic job! We got to see a bunch of extra locations and made really good time everywhere we went. I would highly recommend it. Just make sure you bring a pair of boots, a rain jacket, and an extra set of clothes.
