Great way to discover Scottish Highlands

We had a very nice trip! Our driver, Simba, was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and cracked funny jokes. Bus very comfortable and on time. Highly recommended!

Breathtaking, Fun & Unique,

For us, the best part was Glenfinnan Viaduct. As Harry Potter fans, that was just so cool. What made it even more cool was our guide, Stewart. Funny, wonderful humor, and knowledgeable. He made the SUPER-LONG DRIVE & 13.5 hr day fly by. To clarified, tour itself was not 13.5 hrs. However, we just had the best luck with getting a flat tire in the middle of nowhere and it took a while before we got help. THEN, one of the main roads we were supposed to take was CLOSED. Gotta laugh & go with the flow. So, our van plus prob a thousand other cars were jamming into a one and half lane going in opposite directions. Needless to say, both sides were so backed up, it’s worse than a Fri nite traffic jam in NYC. But. Stewart maintained his patience, professionalism, and made the best efforts to get us back……..9:15 pm!! It was definitely a tour that we will not forget, from the incredible breathtaking views, the HP train up-close, and the wild ride we all had. Def worthwhile trip & hope no one gets a flat tire or get jammed into traffic on a dirt road

Our experience of the tour is nothing but absolutely positive, the tour guide was funny, friendly, and is very knowledgeable of the area, local attractions, history, and folklore. Definitely looking forward to coming back for our next tour……

Great day and amazing guide

It was an amazing trip. Best-suited if you had a couple of exhausting days and you still was to visit new places, because you will be in the bus for quite a long time. Our tour-guide was incredibly nice and he made the experience 100times better.

Worth every penny

Better than we had envisioned. Loved the commentary, better than the music on the way back! Asked for a stop over at the silver beach, which our driver happily took us to and gave us insight to its uniqueness. Very informative day. We all enjoyed it. Just wish we could have had extra time at certain locations.

Lovely and knowledgeable tour guide. It was a 12h trip but interesting cause our guide explained every detail of each landscape we were travelling through. It's a great experience to visit the Highlands and learn something new. The Glenfinnan Viaduct moment was breathtaking

Perfect solo trip I had

The whole experience was seamless. The trip started on time and finding the bus was easy too,they provided enough guidance on that. Our driver and guide Andrew was extremely jolly and knowledgeable about Scotland. He made us feel at ease with his friendly attitude. The trip had multiple stops for restroom breaks. Highly recommend it. Worth your money.

To a Wonderful Trip!

Exploring on my own gave me the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy the whole experience, and let me tell you, the beauty was out of this world. But if I had to pick a highlight, it would undoubtedly be the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct and the train that crossed it – a sight to behold. Mark, our guide, deserves high praise for making this experience extraordinary and made sure we were alright all the time.

Highland tour to remember

Loch Lomond, Glencoe views, Mallaig and Glenfinnan with train passing the bridge in Harry Potter movies. Stuart was an excellent guide and played Scottish music between the guidning parts.

Website needs to be updated.

Driver was great. Due to poor weather conditions he rerouted us and it worked out great. I think the website should be more accurate. I would have liked to have time to go to a nicer restaurant and relax. We did not go to Mallaig which I was looking forward to and was advertised.

Disappointed

Our guide, SimBia (can't read name, see previous photo), was very friendly and told some good jokes. Suggestions: post hours on trip (would not have booked if we had realized it was a 12 hour trip); have guide emphasize: getting back on bus on time for the continuation of trip without penalty; no talking on cell phone unless emergency (guy behind talked no less than 7 times on his cell phone which was disruptive); play music appropriate to setting (not just what guide/driver wants to listen to) and not as loud; could have had much more information from driver on trip (most of trip was done in silence or with loud jazzy music playing....there were things that could have been talked about like topography, etc. All in all, I wish we hadn't booked this trip.

Focus on Journey, Not Destination

The journey is like sailing through fairy land, from the books of Emil Blon te. Drizzling, lush green pastures on flowing hills, Black Sheeps, if fortunate stags, Rainbow. It was a tenderly feast of eyes & mind. Bad part, not a comfortable coach & skipped Mallaig for heavy rain as informed ( though with consent of elderly people; should not have asked at all)

Best trip you can book!

Gary Mulholland as our tour guide was outstandingly funny and informative! Stunning views - really comfortable minibus - best value for money - 100% recommend!

A Trip Highlight with Driver Guide Extraordinaire, Davie

This trip was nothing short of spectacular. Our guide, Davie, kept us entertained for 12 hours straight with his vast knowledge, quirky humour, and charmingly broad Glasgow accent. No better man to tour the highlands with in our minds! Whether you’re a Harry Potter fan or not, there is so much to soak in on this journey that pulls at your human tide. Davie gave us running commentary on the various landmarks and areas that we passed through, providing excellent insight into the important history present in each, all while operating the bus with impressive precision. Safety was never a concern. We noticed that Davie isn’t featured on the “Meet Our Driver Guides” on the website, but would love to see his profile on there! He was truly an incredible driver and a vibrant entertainer. We can’t recommend this tour enough. If you’re considering it, pay no mind to any negative reviews. It is well worth the money and then some - a small price to pay for the best day ever.

Wonderful tour with amazing tour guide

Disappointed with Timberbush Tours

The tour was booked about a month before our visit to Scotland. We were looking forward to it, but ... Alas ... it never happened. Date for the tour: 30.08.2023 07:30. Or more precisely for me and my wife, as well as two other people who were at the meeting place at least 10 minutes earlier (07:20 hours) before the departure time (07:30 hours) this excursion remained only a dream, for which company Timberbush Tours did nothing to make it happen! The operator we contacted around 07:35 behaved extremely rudely and disrespectfully. It was explained to us that we were not at the meeting place, but there was a large group of people who had boarded the company's bus and were already traveling!!! And how come we haven't seen them!!! Reading the comments about the organizing company, I think this is a bad practice on their part. Similar situations have apparently happened to other customers as well. I remain extremely negative about the company Timberbush Tours.

Excellent day trip from Glasgow

This was an excellent day trip from Glasgow. I took this trip on the 25th of August. The guide, James was interesting and humorous. Just enough time in each place, though the tour does travel a lot of ground so you need to be prepared to SoE d quite a bit of time on the bus. Thus wasn’t a problem for me, as the scenery is spectacular.

Your too long and boring

Was a very very very long drive through mountains past severe beautiful lakes and Mountains but honestly, after about an hour or two, you’ve seen all the mountains you need to see. Glencoe was nothing but mountains and valleys, pretty but a 12 hour ride?!. Seeing the Harry Potter train going over the Glenfiddich treassle was the high lite. Wouldn’t go again. The guide was average. Nothing overly special, sorry.

Amazing tour but bad driver

The views were amazing but the driver was awful. He was fidgety and wasn’t pleasant. But he brought us safely back and we are grateful for that. Also it was hard to understand his accent.

Do not be fooled by all the pix of a train!!!

The photos clearly imply this is a train trip. IT IS NOT! It’s an all day ride in a cramped small bus. Very disappointing!!!!!!

Nice scenes but too long time in the bus

The scenery was magnificent typical of Scotland. The guide and driver were nice and made sure that we watch Harry Potter train in motion. However most of the tour time was spent in the bus, driving. The tour time was 12 hours and we only had 3 hours off the bus. I would not take this trip again because it was tiering.

Beautiful but tiring

Fabulous scenery all the way. Glenfinnan Viaduct and train an example of the impact of marketing!! A long way and was very tired by the end.

Beautiful drive through the Western Highlands.

We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for this day-long tour. Scott (I think) was a new tour guide, but knew his stuff and was very familiar with the tour settings. He stopped everywhere he could to allow us to see everything and gave lots of tidbits as we traveled. I wish we'd had more time in Mallaig and Glenfinnan, but understand there is a schedule to keep and this is already a very long day. The train wasn't running due to maintenance, but it was still great to see the viaduct. This was my second trip to Scotland and I love the Highlands so much; one of the most beautiful places on earth. The only small complaint was the bus was a little squished at full capacity for a trip this long. There isn't much leg room and you definitely touch the person beside you (helps if you know them!).

Alright for Harry Potter fans

Long day of being on the bus with few insights from the guide. It's OK if you want to get a taste of the western Highlands part, I personally would have preferred to skip Mallaig and Fort William and spend some time around Glencoe instead; or even have time for a little hike around lovely Loch Lomond. Good for Harry Potter fans though as it gives enough time to find a good spot to catch that perfect "Hogwarts Express" shot on the Glenfinnan viaduct.

Scottish accent for Scottish tales, nice!

Our driver, David, was very lovely, happily taking photos of people at stops and answering all sorts of question. Loved his humor. I loved his Scottish accent but it may be hard to understand if you're not a native speaker. He seemed to offer speaking less intense, but nobody took up on the offer so I can't tell how much he can adapt to the skill level lf the audience. The seats are very comfortable even on the long ride and the windows are clean so you can take photos of the landscape as you drive by. There are multiple stops to use public toilets, but for those with a weaker gut oder bladder keep in mind that the bus I was on did not come with an integrated toilet.

Fantastic day with FABULOUS guide and driver

Warmest thanks to Graham/Graeme and Mark for the fantastic Highlands tour from Glasgow yesterday. Graham’s commentary was learned and relevant. We’d be hard pressed to pick a favourite moment as it was all perfect. Thanks for a memorable day!

Loved it

It was a really great experience and I got to see so much of the highlands. Without my own transport, it works out cheaper than to do it with public transport.

Both the driver and the tour guide made this trip an excellent experience. Plenty of stops and great tips for food and even singing ! This was a lot of fun and highly recommended!

Glenfinnan, Mallaig and Glencoe trip.

This was another great trip provided by Timberbush tours. Our tour guide Davie was very funny and had some excellent information along our tour. I always love seeing the highland mountains in the Glencoe area and to have a bagpiper playing at the three sisters in Glencoe when we made a stop was just priceless. Mallaig was a beautiful town (even in the rain) and we had time to get something to eat and watch the train pull into the station. Davie made sure that we left at the right time so that we could get to see the train over the viaduct and he also pointed out the monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie across the street from the viaduct area. You have a couple of choices to view the train going over the viaduct either below the train or at the top of the viewing area. If you do go up to the viewing area it's a 3 minute walk up a slight slope with protruding rocks so be aware of your footing. If you prefer below the train it's a 15 minute walk to get to the bottom of the viaduct but it looked like it was a paved pathway.

Nice trip! Many stops during the trip and beautiful weather! Everyone should go for this trip. Will take a longer trip in the future.

A must do and see

we both enjoyed the trip and learned lots we did not know ,timing of the stops were great and not to long , driver very good explaining every thing but we are scottish so no problem understanding , the timing of the train over Glenfinnan was great we are elderly but great to show your grand children the film of the harry potter train as they understand that more .roads a bit bendy as expected but seeing Glencoe and the stops were great , would strongly recommend the trip and the tour company and the driver thanks for a great day .Stan & Ina

Excellent!

The trip was great: long journey with the van, but plenty of stops on the way. Our guide was well acquainted with everything and did his best to show us all the places along the stated itinerary. We managed even to reach Glenfinnan viaduct minutes before the steam train passed. Weather was perfect, with clear sky and mild temperatures. I strongly recommend this adventure when visiting Scotland.

We loved David, the tour guide. He handled the bus like it was a Toyota. He was so knowledgeable and very funny and was a pleasure to listen to. We were able to make extra stops for picture opportunities. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this s the tour for you.

Great but hot trip

The driver was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. But the bus wasn’t air conditioned and most travelers were uncomfortable.

Gorgeous Day in the Gorgeous Highlands!

This was a beautiful trip and a great way to spend the whole day, with enough time to still have a good dinner back in Glasgow at the end of the day. Our driver, Andrew, was very funny and very knowledgeable about but Scottish and Glaswegian history. The viaduct was well worth it! I also really enjoyed Mallaig, and could’ve spent another 15 minutes there because I chose to have a lovely sit-down lunch at the Chlachain Inn instead of just takeaway. We popped into the Drover’s Inn at the end, which I’d been to at the end of the Oban/Inverary tour back in 2016 too, which was a welcome treat. Personally I would’ve preferred a smaller coach like I’d had with the Oban tour rather than the full coach for this one, but regardless, I had wonderful conversations with both people in our group and others who were also at the sites. A day well spent and I would go on more tours with Timberland again!

Very nice tour of the countryside and historic facts.

Glenco was beyond beautiful. Timing to see the train come across the bridge was perfect. Beautiful sunny day. David was an excellent tour guide. Only negative was the bus in the back was hot. Really needed to keep asking after each stop to turn in A/C because the hot condition was making me car sick.

Spectacular

The tour was excellent from start to finish, our driver/guide Stuart was friendly, accommodating & knowledgeable about the area. We had ample time at each stop to look around ! If you are a Harry Potter fan or not, do this tour - the scenery is spectacular, it will not disappoint!
