Valuable Experience

The tour guide was the most pleasant and vigilant, ensuring everyone's safety. It was a very informative tour, we learnt things beyond the 5 islands and towns we visited. Snacks were provided, there were lots of laughter and networking. The lunch was so delicious omg. I would definitely do other tours with them again.

A Memorable Experience

It was an amazing and memorable trip. I was thrilled to explore the beauty of my country. The tour advisor (Christopher) was very friendly and provided information about the historical sites in a precise and clear manner. The food was good and there were refreshment and snack for everyone. However, travelling via the speed boat is an experience I did not enjoyed as much lol. Overall the service was excellent 👌🏾. We had an extraordinary day with Wanderlust Adventures GY on their 5 Island & Town Hopping Tour. The itinerary was well-planned, ensuring a seamless and exciting journey through some of the most stunning locations we've ever seen. Chris, our tour guide, was phenomenal knowledgeable, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. The lunch at Aruwai Resort was delicious, and the entire trip was filled with laughter and adventure. Highly recommend this tour for families looking for a day filled with adventure and beauty. A solid 5-star experience!

Amazing adventure

Great tour! We saw a lot and I appreciated the opportunity to go south into the green part of the country. The trip was interesting, fun, and well-executed, with a variety of activities. Tour guide Chris was very helpful, intelligent, and enthusiastic. I got a lot of exercise. The boat rides were very relaxing and the waterfall was fun. All the guests other than me were from Guyana so I loved that. The actual trip was 5 star but I gave it 4 due to transport issues. The bus driver had the AC so strong that it was like a freezer. I brought a jacket and closed the vents, but I was still cold. I asked him to turn it down which he did, but just a little. What really upset me is the driver did the same thing on the way back! I wasn't the only freezing person. Other people were also cold but too shy to complain. The bus rides were long so this was a big negative. I don't understand why the guide did not manage this. I also was frightened (as a woman alone) not being dropped off by the bus. Chris kindly called a taxi for me but I was scared. I know this isn't an easy problem to drop people off after such a long day. Overall very good and a capable travel company. I went on two adventures.

The views were amazing. We took so many photos. The entire day was super organised and our tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable.

Lovely Day On The Essiquebo

Wanderlust Adventures GY is everything you want in a tour company! As someone who travels and enjoys eco-based adventures, it was a pleasure to ride with them twice for their Guyana excursions! While I have Guyanese parents, I have not had the chance to explore beyond our local areas on trips back to the country. So these experiences were meaningful, as we had the chance to share the adventure as a family as well. 5 Island Hopping Tour w/Jamaal - This is my second time riding up the Essiquebo river, but it felt like the first. Jamaal is a humble and knowledgable guide who is able to keep things rolling even when hiccups occur. His local insight in unparalleled, and he has excellent customer service! We had a fellow tourist on our excursion who was a bit rude and insensitive. Jamaal handles the situation with expert class and sensitivity. Let me use this moment to say that if you are coming to Guyana, treat it like you would ANY OTHER PLACE. Respect the local culture, and watch how you speak about the food, infrastructure etc. It is 2024, don't come to a place to fetishize it. That said, our entire group kept talking about Jamaal, and his engagement. The stops: Fort Zeelandia- an important piece of history and as the industry continues to grow, I look forward to more activities on this island. The grounds were beautiful, the history was sad but it's worth telling. Fort Kyk - we did stop but the water was getting low so a few agreed to hop out and take pictures. Bartica - great boardwalk area, and it was nice to see the kids coming out. I had a chance to grab some chicken feet from a local stand and YUM! Especially with the sour. Arawai and Baracara. This is my second time at Arawai and they need to update the island. Last time I went it was gorgeous, scenic but barely staffed. This time, it was well staffed, but could use some fresh paint and updated dining decor. Baracara - gorgeous 10/10 waterfall. Quite accessible even in the rain. I would say 6/10 difficulty for anyone with mobility concerns. Overall I will be recommending this tour to anyone visiting, and in particular this tour guide.

Great tour and great staff at Wanderlust!

My family had a great time on the 5 Island tour! Our guide Jamal was excellent, very knowledgable and funny. Unfortunately I came down with a nasty sickness on the day and felt really unwell but Jamal was very caring and accommodating, so although I couldn't enjoy the day fully as intended I still had a nice experience. Thank you for taking good care of me JT! The trip was important for our family as we took the opportunity to spread my late Grandads ashes into the Mazaruni river (Guyana was his homeland). JT was very kind to allow us the time to do this and the spot we did it in was absolutely beautiful. I also want to shout out Roselyn who was friendly, patient and helpful when assisting with our booking. I'd recommend the 5 island tour to anyone who wants to get out of the hustle of Georgetown and see a more peaceful side of Guyana, whilst also learning some of its rich (and in parts painful) history. The next time our family comes to Guyana we will definitely book more tours with Wanderlust! Thanks guys!

Awesome! Fabulous, Lust for more such tours

The tour was fantastic, the guide JT was excellent, he was knowledgeable, polite. Easy to approach and ever so helpful. The lunch was tasty with a generous potion. Wanderlust Adventures’ five island tour is a must do when visiting Guyana. The total experience is a ten out of ten.

This tour was well curated, with a very engaging, attentive and knowledgeable tour guide. Chris was excellent as he ensured that we had a wonderful and memorable experience sailing down the Essequibo river and giving us a taste of Guyana’s rich history. The five island tour culminated with lunch on an island resort followed by a dip in the cooling waters of a nearby waterfall. I highly recommend.

Really top notch experience. Timely departure, a cheerful and helpful, and yes, knowledgeable guide (Chris), a nice mix of destinations, and we were lucky to be part of a friendly, cheerful group. Weather wasn't perfect but neither is life. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable day. Big up Chris and Wanderlust.

AMAZING Tour with informative tour guide Eugene!

A long exciting day with an informative tour guide. Make sure u bring comfortable clothes/ shoes because hopping thru 5 islands require you climb in and out of a deep boat 5 times! I would highly recommend this tour if ur ever in Guyana (ITS A MUST DO!)

long but fun day on the river

the tour and guides were great. we stopped at fort island, bartica, aruwai, and baracara falls. we didnt stop at kykoveral due to low tide. its a very early start, but the guides were there waiting and ready. starts with just under a 2hr drive to parika and then 20min boat to fort island. the fort is cool and the museum is small but interesting. then we had another 1hr boat down to bartica. bartica was our favorite part of the day, fun little bay/beach and bars/restaurants. Aruwai was ok, the food was solid but pool was only about half way full and a little murky. baracara falls was beautiful even with low water flow. the journey back was loooong, 2hr boat followed by 2hr bus back to georgetown, thank goodness for the famous rum punch, best rum punch ever! its a very long day about about 7-8 hours of it is spent in transit, but its a great option to explore the river in a day.

Good way of Exploding in Guyana

Very good trip to explode a new world. And get new discover. The tour guide is humorous and make the trip full of joy. I couldn't enjoy it more

Really good and excited trip. Had a good day out being educated on the history of Guyana. Lovely food at slot Island and must mention, water, juice and snacks helped us to keep going. Recommend you book this tour for your entire family.

The entire experience was very good, and Wanderlust Adventures really organized a very smooth experience for everyone. Although the boat was a little late, it did not ruin the experience, and Wanderlust reached out to us afterward to apologize, which we really appreciated. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Guyana or who wants to experience the magic of the Essequibo

Well for the 1st time visiting this place alone I feel like I can do it again

Great potential but...

The tour company cancelled the January 3 tour with no contact to the customer. They just never confirmed and I called to see what the issue was. The next tour was scheduled 3 days later. I understand if something happened but this is very poor customer relations for one of the only tour companies in the country.

Fun and adventurous experience!

This tour was a great start to my solo trip to Guyana! Dave, our wonderful guide, lead us through each stop with an emphasis on fun and safety. The journey to and on the boat was relaxing. Once you’re off the boat some walking is required but the history and the experiences is worth the day in the sun. Hat/umbrella is a must!

Historical tour of Essequibo

Jamal Thomas, tour guide, made this trip exciting and interesting with the history of places visited. During a small rainstorm with thunder, lightening and rough Essequibo river, safety was a priority and everyone was calm. This overall tour gets 100% in every aspect. Thank you!

A Glimpse of River Life in Guyana.

Traveling by the local jetboat on the mighty Essequibo River visiting five different island locations was a real highlight of this trip. The opportunity to play in the falls was also very exciting and a welcome respite from the heat of the day. Our guide Jamal was truly knowledgable and entertaining. He gets five stars! Amazing Trip

The trip was great!!. Our tour guide Mr Norton was awesome!!! He did well. !!!! He ensured that he stopped at the various landmarks along our journey like The Eddie Grant Island, The Mazaruni Prison and give us information about the landmarks. This is a trip to be on with your family and friends.

Great day trip!

Had such a fun time exploring the islands! I did not feel rushed at any of the locations and we had some extra time relaxing in the waterfall. JT was incredible!

Overall the trip was...

Overall the trip was good, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, however, when we got to the falls which was the last leg and the highlight of the trip I was extremely disappointed. The falls was beautiful, but right next to it was literally a garbage dump, used pampers, discarded plates cups and every other possible item that would be found in the garbage was there. This spoiled the whole experience for myself, and a few others who immediately walked back to the dock and waited for the boat. It looks like several tourist group take tourists to this location, why not collaborate with each other and pay to have the area around the falls cleaned, and sanitized. After leaving I felt like taking a shower, it was revolting.

A fantastic experience

I absolutely enjoyed learning about Guyana’s history and seeing the amazing Essequibo islands. JT the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend doing this tour if you want to learn history and love adventure.

A Pleasant Experience with Wanderlust

My Boat Trip

This trip is for anyone who wants to explore Guyana. I was deter by others about traveling via the speed boat and I could see why. Going was very smooth, but coming back the water was very choppy. If you are pregnant this is not for you. The tour guide Jamal was very informative, friendly and approachable. I would give him a 10/10. If I had to make a suggestion lunch was not the best at Aruwai Resort, food was very salty and the fish was filled with barbecued sauce yuck. If I would have to make a suggestion would be the lack of drinks provided on the tour and snacks. Water and plantain chips is not enough for a tour which starts at 6:15am-7:00pm. Pastries can be a better option with a much better variety of drinks. At the resort you got the smallest bottle of drink. No fresh juice. All in all it was a great tour. Would definitely recommend (make sure you walk with your snacks, gravol) and come again.

Enjoyed an awesome day with Jamal, our tour guide. He is knowledgeable and entertaining. We sailed up and down the Essequibo river with several stops on the way. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at Aruwai respite. Best stop was at Baracara falls.

I enjoyed the experience. Great to get all the history and sights on the Essequibo. Couple islands were rushed, but overall a great time.

Great day away from the city.

The trip was well coordinated and was on schedule. The tour guide Dave was very knowledgeable. My favorite part was the Dutch museum. I've learned quite a bit of the history about my hometown New Amsterdam. It was a relaxing day away from the city and would recommend this excellent experience.
