Vevey, Montreux, Chillon Day Trip from Geneva

Chillon Castle

We took the train from Geneva to see the Chillon Castle. We messed up and went past Montreaux where you need to get off to connect for the Chillon Castle stop. What a mess. We ended up on the mountains, just a few stops away from Montreux. There was no one at the station to help us. We finally caught another train back but we had to wait a long time. Chillon Castle was great. It's a big castle and well preserved. I wish we had more time. Lots of exhibits to read. Really neat history.

It was a nice day tour with good guidance!

It was a nice small group with many sites to see and learn in one full day. We were well treated, guided, and informed.

Montreaux Day Trip

The one disappointment was Viator selling the trip as a hotel pickup and drop off at the end of the tour, but they changed the terms and said we had to get to the tours office instead. This inconvenience cost us an additional $40 in taxi fares getting to and coming back from the tour. The tour itself was fantastic, Roger was the tour guide and he was very informative and funny in his presentation. Montreaux and the Chaplin museum were the highlights for my wife and I.

Montreaux-Chillon Tour Is Excellent

Myself and a friend wanted a quick trip from Geneva. This trip is perfect!! Back by 6pm and was very informative and stunningly beautiful!! Tour director Roger is absolutely excellent!!!!

Amazing, out of this world SWIS riviera experience!!

An absolutely amazing , I could say, top and out of this world SWIS riviera experience. I highly recommend this trip. I would do again this trip was spectacular !!! This will change your life. I was alone and this trip and I was the only one at that moment in time in the bus. It was a private tour for me with picnic 🧺 omg spectacular view and magnificent guide Normunds . Thank you so much to Normunds, My tour guide was just excellent and exceptional with all details and info perfect English . We had Picnic with wine 🍷 in Vevey Magical Place !

Fantastic day tour from Geneva

We loved this tour but then we were very lucky that it was only us, another couple and the driver/guide. So we could take our time and be quite flexible as to how long we spent at each place. Our driver/guide, David, provided excellent information, was really friendly and happy to answer our questions. We were also lucky with the weather as it was raining quite heavily in Geneva when we left, but an hour or two out of Geneva and it cleared to a beautiful day. Each of the places we visited were interesting and beautiful in different ways. Highly recommend!

Montreux is a Must Go!

This was such a great experience. I am so glad that Normunds was our tour guide that day. He was patient with our group even when we ran a few minutes late. It was a small group of people from all over the world that blended well. The Charlie Chaplin stop ended up being much better than I expected. The museum was pretty cool I wish I could have had a little more time to walk around that and less time around Castle Chilton. The boat ride to the Castle was gorgeous even though I had to fight bees. Normunds was really accomodating he walked us to see the Chaplin statue on the riverwalk. I regret that we didnt have enough time not letting my mom go to the Market she saw some Chow mein that was intriguing but by time we got back to the port the boat was coming, Chilton was nice but too much time for me there. You had to pay extra for the audio guide and after going to larger forts I passed on that and just ear hustled 😀. Normunds gave us snacks and wine that were tasty. He took us throughout wine country and had to battle the van door giving him problems. Again he kept his composure through this and kept us safe. He dropped us off in Montreux and we had time to walk around and get a late lunch. This trip was myself and my parents. I am an adult child which is not an option below.

Varied itinerary, picturesque locations, relaxed atmosphere.

Really enjoyed the whole day with an excellent & easy to get on with tour guide David who made sure everyone on the trip was kept informed of arrangements and were getting the best from every stop. So glad we went on the excursion.

Norman was awesome driver/guide. Chillon castle amazing. Loved Charlie Chaplin home. Views incredible. Take the cruise to the castle! Would have preferred more time at the castle and less time in Montreux. Great FULL day.

Fabulous day off!

The forecast wasn't very favorable for the trip (heavy rain, poor visibility, overcast skies) and it seemed that the tour was doomed to fail, but, surprisingly, it didn't! As soon as we get to Lavaux, the sun came out, the rain stopped and the scenery was magnificent! Our guide under the name of Roger organized a picnic with wine and snacks, which added to the good mood. I'm not a big fan of Chaplin, but the museum and the theatre were quite good. And I was absolutely impressed by the Chillon Castle and the Queen Studio in Montreux as well as by the breathtaking views of Lake Leman surrounded by incredible mountains and vineyards. A must-see tour!

Beautiful

Had a wonderful time with Roger as our driver and guide. Perfect day from start to finish. From the pick up to the drive to Vevey, the lovely picnic, visit in Montreux and Chillon. The day couldn’t get any better. Definitely want to come back.

Nice tour

We aren't charlie chaplin fans but the museum was interesting. Our tour guide, Roger, was really good. the best part of the tour was his wine picnic he set up for us. Long day with lots to see. Castle was pretty.

Nice but could have been better

Beautiful scenery. Guide was knowledgeable but couldn’t be heard very well on the bus because there was no microphone. Would have been nice to spend less time at Charlie Chaplins world and more time in vevey or walking around the vineyards. Also be forewarned to eat lunch somewhere, snack was light and we got home 2 hours later than scheduled, missed our dinner reservation and were famished

The opretur cancelled the trip twice, I'm waiting for refunding my money ASAP... So i didn't want there..

Discover the swiss lakeside in 1 day

It was a very fulfilling. It is a full day experience to do quick tour of a couple of Swiss cities in the lakeside and the Chaplin estate. You have a chance to walk a lot and quickly in the city and rest in the commutes. Great tour guide, from Greece kept the spirits up.

Lovely experience and a great helpful guide, totally recommended. The views in Vevey and Montreux are breath taking!

Scenic and interesting tour

This is a lovely tour. The Chaplin museum, gardens and house were wonderful. A picnic in a hilly vineyard by the lake is a wonderful addition. The driver needs to have phone #s for travelers he is picking up at hotels to save time and avoid confusion. The bus needs a microphone so that people in the back can hear what is being said. The tour really needs both a driver and a tour guide. If these things can be addressed, I will recommend this tour without reservation to anyone to wants to spend a day seeing some of Switzerland's amazing variety and beauty.

Beautiful sites esp the surprising Chaplin World!

We took the Luassane, Vevey, Montruex, Chillon Castle. These locations are beautiful. Our guide who was also the driver was a nice guy but his information and specific instructions to do activities in each site were limited probably because of his limited proficiency in English and may benefit to have a microphone on the bus.

Not to be missed!

Fantastic trip all and all! Very clean, modern, comfortable vehicle, beautiful views along the whole ride. Our driver/ guide, Tom was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable! Perfect amount of time to enjoy every stop. Loved Charlie Chaplin museum, Chateux Chillon, and strolling around Vevey and Montreux. Highly recommend!

Lovely Colors

If you are looking for a quick side trip to see nature at its best - this is the place to go to. You can spend the day taking a nice hike or walk around the lake area which gives you a good mix of natural beauty with nice stops for dining.

Excellent experience

I will recommend this tour ... it was a very nice serine beauty tour . I would like to thank our tour guide Maria and driver Francisco for making our visit memorable . They also organised a mini lunch with some sandwiches , chips wine and grape juices which was a surprise treat and they organised it in a grape garden or vineyard .

You will not be disappointed

We booked a couple of day trips with Keytours SA, one of them being to Montreux, Vevey, Chillon and the Chaplin museum. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, thanks to our guide Yolanda who was friendly and very knowledgeable. We also got lucky to have a very small group on the day :) Keytours run a very efficient ship, the tour started on time and went according to plan. We got time to explore on our own and take pictures. The transportation provided is comfortable and safe, and brought us back to Geneva on time. I would certainly recommend their services!

May in French Switzerland

Visiting the Geneva region is pleasant for its landscapes; Hyper organized and well located hostels; free transport system in the Central Geneva region via public voucher. You will be welcomed whether you speak French or not, as the general staff speaks English; The central area is super rich in: history; Coffees ☕️; Pasta house; bakery; varied restaurants. The Charlie Chaplin world museum is a wonder just 1 hour by train from Geneva Central Train Station. I recommend wearing light clothes and good sneakers 👟, as May is a month with temperatures rising from 22 to 27°C. Enjoy

Arnaque

Déception, vous vendez une excursion de 9h30 à 19h00 et nous sommes rentrés à 17h15 : donc pas assez de temps pour faire le manoir et le stdio Chaplin, pas assez de temps pour visiter le château Chillon en entier, et deux heure minimum annoncé pour visiter Montreux et non 1h15!!!! Donc c'est du vol à l'état pur, très déçue.

Belle virée en Suisse!

Une très belle balade! Notre guide Roger a été accueillant et a fourni d’excellentes informations tout au long de cette belle journée! Nous avons bien apprécié le musée, le château et que dire de Montreux! Une ville à ne pas manquer!
