Geneva Highlights 2-Hour Introductory Tour

I feel the need to review the tour described below. This was a 2 hour bus tour. As we departed the lot the guide announced it would be a walking tour because the driver had to get to the airport. He knew about this but alllowed us to board the bus anyway. I am sure we would have cancelled as I am scheduled for knee surgery and wanted a bus tour. 45 minutes into the tour the bus stopped and made us deboard and start the walking portion. While our guide was knowledgeable, he hurried and only those surrounding him could hear him or see him for that matter. He then when off script again and had to walk part of our group to the doc to catch a boat making the walk even farther.

Meh

An underwhelming tour of two parts. The first is a drive by a few international organizations, including the UN. The second is a team ride through old town. The second part was nice but the first, unless you are a big UN fan, can be skipped. Guide is pleasant but.information provided was superficial. Not bad all in all.

Great tour of international highlights of Geneva and Old Town!

Our tour guide Gabriel was knowledgeable, approachable, and upbeat! Despite the rain, our guide kept the tour lively and we had a great time! Learned way more about the city of Geneva than I expected to, specifically about the history of the international organizations based thete. Would highly recommend!!

Missed tour due to insufficient information

This tour is run by Swisstour. Miss the tour since the Viator did not named it. Was there 10 minutes before and unable to find bus in the bus station. However the Swisstour was able help and arrange the half price tour wihch was very limited. Of course no refund

Great way to see Geneva in a day

Tour was interesting and showed all the highlights. We did the bus and then tram and added the lake cruise. The lake cruise was a peaceful 1 hr on the lake. Dad has limited walking so the 3 block walk from the bus to tram was difficult. Guide was able to have the driver drop us at the dock for the lake cruise. We chose these tours as unable to walk distances

Geneva city tour best 2 hours ever! Beauty of area breathtaking. Overall photo op time afforded, historic info welcome, as was learning how many organizations headquarter. Water fountain in Lake LeMan striking AND first one in world. Highly recommend.

Bus tour

I Booked this tour to know about the city but It was just average at best. If you have nothing else to do and just wanna do a scenic trip of the city it's a decent option but if you don't do it you're not missing much.

MISLEADING AND NOT GOOD FOR DISABLED CUSTOMERS

We were informed ita 2 hour city tour, with mini train trip at the end, instead we were given a 90 minute tour, and the last bit of the tour, we had to walk in the old town, and we were told the mini train only operates in summer. THIS WAS NOT SPECIFIED WHEN BOOKING. IF ID OF KNOW THERE WAS WALKING INVOLVED, I would not of gone on this tour, I’m an amputee. Very poor and disappointing. The guide did his best but in the end when he said walking was involved, we got off and had to get an Uber back to hotel, as our coach was on another journey.

Geneva bus tour

Excellent 2 hour tour of Geneva. The tour guide Phillipe was fantastic, a great man! So much history and knowledge given in the tour. Weather was nice and cool too. Highly recommended!

Fantastic & Informative Tour With Great Tour Guide

Excellent tour to include both tour bus journey and walking with excellent commentary. Our tour guide Gabriel was fabulous. He was polite, friendly and approachable, has extensive knowledge on Geneva and was able to answer all questions. The tour gave us a great insight to the city and we saw and learnt so much about both the old and the new town. Highly recommend

Great way to see the city!

This tour was a great way to see the City of Geneva. Gabriel was so knowledgeable and you could tell he loved this city!! He shared all the history even the little known facts. The sights came alive under his commentary. He kept a good walking pace for the entire group. Highly recommend asking for Gabriel when you take this a tour!! I recommend going on. Sunday as the city is less crowded.

Enjoyable

An experience that I could never erase. Tour guide were very comprehensive in explaining and we left to Charmonix and came back to Geneva on time. Love it!

Quick affordable history lesson and tour

I needed a quick tour and history lesson and this tour filled the bill for a good price. Gabriel the first guide was sensational. The second part is on a tram that drives through the old city streets and isn’t a real train, but was fine. You get a generous five minute stop at broken chair. You drive by the flower clock and get good views of the fountain. Happy to leave a five star review. Pick up is at the bus station and look for staff in red jackets. End of tour is by the lake where the tram ride starts.

Amazing tour of Geneva!

Gabrielle was a fabulous guide!! He was so knowledgeable about the history of Geneva. Such a great personality! Great tour!!!

Beginning was great, 2nd half worthless.

1st half with the live tour guide was great.....he was very knowledgeable, informative, funny, and easy to understand! The second half, once on the miniature train with open cars was horrible. The information was delivered via overhead speakers that were completely drowned out by the noise of the city. Not worth the price since it was truly a half guided tour.

Good with exceptions

We were hoping for a better tour of the Old Town. The train tour was narrated by a recorded voice which was hard to hear and understand. We never really knew what we were seeing. Our guide was in the cab with the driver so we could not ask any questions. The United Nations stop was good. I would recommend this tour for a quick overview but Hop On and Hop Off might have been better in hindsight.

Good tour for seeing highlights

The bus tour was great. The guide was very knowledgeable and nice. The small train was good, but the speakers needed to be louder. It was hard to hear. There were no stops in old town

Tour Around Geneva City

Great tour around the city giving you knowledge of the city and helping with bearings. The coach and touring train are great giving different views. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and engaging, great tour.

Not the best experience!

The tour did take you through the International area which was good, but the time off the bus was rushed and the guides narration was not very interesting. The small train was terrible - you could not hear any of the narration through the speakers, and had no idea where you were. There was also no option as to where you disembarked. I would not recommend this - there are other tours that I think would be more fun and more value for the money.

Just OK

Geneva has a lot of buildings that are important for meetings and world leaders but, I found them underwhelming. We booked this trip for the sleep deprived day that we arrived from the US to Geneva. The guide's voice was annoying while he was doing the narration.

A must tour to start your vacation.

Worthwhile Tour

I booked this tour for 3 of us and it met my expectations. The tour guide (sorry I didn’t get her name) was great and the bus driver friendly. The description of the tour is exactly how it was - nothing more and nothing less. The meeting place was Key Tours office which was easy to find as there was signage although a couple that joined us on the bus were not happy as they seemed to have trouble finding it. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the portion of the tour in which we went on a small train. The intercom system is bad - we had no idea what was being said.

Not a good experience.

The trip as advertised did not take place and was definitely not worth the price paid for it. It was supposed be a 2 hour tour to include the United Nations, the Old Town, Flower Clock and Jet Fountain,etc with options to end the tour at 3 locations. It was only 1 1/2 hour long with a 10 minute stop to transfer from a bust to a small train to go around the Old Town. It did not include the Flower Clock or the Jet Fountain and the acoustics on the train were so poor we could not understand what was said. We were not given any options for ending the tour and were told the tour ends here with out any reason given for where we ended.

Overpriced!

The guide was nice, Gabriel, and was knowledgeable. BUT. Not a big city to tour for the price. The petit train was crowded and we were packed in tight. The audio on the train was full of static. Not a good experience. The end point was not the same as the start even though the train went right past the start point after we were left off.

Informative & fast paced

Lots to see in Geneva! This tour was great to get a glimpse of all kinds of world unity buildings... I had no idea that we had so many places that worked together. I love that I got to see them all even if just a glimpse of them because they would not be worth a full on visit without this tour. A lot of the buildings are out of the way so this tour is great at offering a quick view & explanation of everything. Important to note that it is on a bus with headphones and not a personal guide but still informative regardless. I suggest adding the boat tour to your ticket if you can as it is on our regrets - to see Geneva from the water! Like I said the tour goes by quick but gives you a good taste of what to see and go back to after. The guide is friendly and informative.

Perfect tour of city

Great way to see Geneva and decide where you’d like to spend more time. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke English well.

Nothing special

The tour drove by many buildings and stopped at the United Nations building. We also went through Old Town but didn’t stop anywhere. Not a very interesting tour.

Zurich City Tour

A wonderful tour to see the City of Zurich . . Loved the old Village walking Tour . Our guide Greg was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable with a fantastic sense of humor. We learnt so much about Switzerland from Greg . Loved the boat cruise too . There is clearly lots of walking , do make sure you have good walking shoes / sneakers . Request Greg if you can. We did Lindt tour on our own after the tour but that is also a must but can be done without a guide . Thanks . Dr Randeep Suneja .

Dont take this trip!

The worst. Was raining. Half the seats had no window so rain blowing in. Did not have any means to dry seats for customers. Guide could not figure how to use mic. Because we chose not to sign up for boat ride we were “dumped” at a corner with no directions on how to get back to where we started. We will be requesting a refund.

Very informative

Learned a lot of great information about Geneva. Guide was very knowledgeable but it was a bit rushed and not a lot of stops.

Wouldn’t pay for this tour again

Gabriel was terrific. But the train to the old town was very disappointing. The audio in French and English was sporadic. Also the main tour pointed out the UN buildings - of which there are many- but have little information about the history of the city

Unprofessional people

We went to the keytours office 15 minutes before the tour started. They told us to wait in their lobby. An employee came and asked our names and checked them on his list and told us to wait. 5, 10, 15 min go by and nothing happens. We see the employee walking around but we were there waiting. Finally, I go to the desk to let them know that we’ve been waiting for the tour and she tells me that the bus left!!! I explained that we were told to wait in the Lobby and no-one told us to go to the bus and her response was that the employee told everyone to go to the bus-BIG LIE!!! She wouldn’t refund us the money and the only alternative she gave us was to come back for the afternoon tour which we couldn’t do because of a time conflict. Very apathetic, didn’t care at all about what happened and when I told her I will give them a bad review she told me to go ahead and do it! My wife inquired if we can get the hop on-hop off bus instead and she said yes(which she never offered before). The alternative was ok, but we basically paid almost 200 dollars for a private tour that we never took for an alternative that if we had bought was way cheaper than the private tour. Very disappointed by the whole experience

Good way to see the city

The tour was great from start to finish. The guide who was narrating was very knowledgeable and funny which made the tour memorable. After the open tour bus we then carried on with the tour on a train where we went through the old town which was amazing too. The tour took around 2hrs and we thoroughly enjoyed it plus we earmarked the places to go back and visit, which saved us heaps of time trying to look it up and walk around for hours. Definitely recommend the tour.

Broken Chair - A Good one for Insta

The broken chair in Geneva has nothing exciting, just a good portrait for your Instagram story! It's close to the city center and i believe is around 10-15 mins drive depending on the traffic. No parking closeby the broken chair thus suggest to park nearby and walk.

Good tour if you want to know what’s around Geneva then go on your own after

The first part of the tour is just driving around Geneva looking at bunch of buildings with one stop to look at the famous chair by UN, when it switches to the train there are a lot more interesting places to see but unfortunately didn’t stop at all so make it difficult to take photos.

Nice Introduction to the City

This is a nice tour for a basic introduction to the city to help you get oriented when you first arrive. You get a pretty good idea of where the main attractions and highlights are as well as some places to return to and explore later. This tour is also good if you do not have a lot of time in the city but want to get an overview.

Horrible tour experience

Horrible experience. The operator drove off without us from first stop itself. He had advised us to go take some pictures and we were within eyesight when they decided to drive off without us

Beautiful scenery and history.

Scenery was beautiful. tour guide was amazing. Logistics were easy to navigate. The architecture and history of the city are quite impressive.
