Annecy - Venice of the Alps - Tour from Geneva

Don’t skip Annecy, skip the tour

The bus was delayed 30 minutes and the speakers on top level didn’t work. To her credit, our guide kept alternating between down and upstairs, which was appreciated but didn’t really help as she is soft-spoken. Not sure the tour added much to a solo visit. If you can save money by getting there on your own and read a Google entry on town you’d be as well off.

Not so great

This tour was fine but the guide wasn’t. She did not communicate very well. She told us she would let us know when she was ready and never came there. We had to find the group. On the bus because it was a double-decker she spent most of the time on the top deck or with the driver because the intercom system didn’t work. We were on the lower level because I can’t climb stairs. There were about 17 people in the group. It was very difficult to hear her when she was talking. In a Annesy she had no communication system The other tours you have did. When we left we were three people short. She never did a headcount. Luckily, the three came running towards the bus as it was leaving. Everyone was yelling to stop the bus for the people. We love Viator and have gone on many tours. This is probably least satisfying.

Beautiful town and great guide

The tour guide was lovely, upbeat and quite informative. I think her name was Salla. It was just the right amount of free time and our guide gave us a tour of the town. Annecy is a lovely little town. We were lucky to have sunny weather too today morning. Don’t miss this

A Beautiful Town to visit for the day.

Annex is a charming town in the French alps. It is picturesque and the lake is beautiful. However a portion of the resident population is not enamored with all the tourists. I fear without us their lovely town would not be as charming and well kept. It is a shame they feel this way.

Rainy Day in Annecy

It rained from the start of the tour (boarding the bus at the Geneva Bus Station) to the end of the tour at the Geneva Bus Station. Tour guide was in a hurry since she needed to to be back in Geneva at 14h00 for another tour and did not give much of a tour in Annecy. She highlighted 2 structures and then gave us free time until we had to board the bus for our return trip to Geneva.

Lovely little place

the location is really lovely, little Venice on one side and lake and views on the other side. Perfect half a day trip.

Great trip

Really good trip. Smooth drive, very pleasant guide who showed us the highlights of Annecy and then we had a couple of hours free time to wander about and get our pics etc. Excellent and recommended if in Geneva for a few days

Annecy beautiful but trip rushed.

Overall my daughter and I enjoyed this trip as Annecy is a pretty town and the lake in particular is beautiful. The reason I have only given 3 stars is because we arrived 10 minutes before the start time and waited with another couple...we asked everyone we could and were told the coach wasn't there yet. Then we went across to the office and a woman rushed in saying we were late and lucky they waited for us! The trip felt a little rushed, with a 15 minute guided walk and 2 hours independent time in Annecy. So we felt it was not amazingly well organised and a little overpriced. Annecy worth a visit, but trip could be improved.

A place not to miss in Europe

Annecy was an amazing place to visit. The city is too beautiful and pristine. The guide too was very good. She explained things very well.

Not Worth the Money

We did not get the 45 minute guided tour. This fee that you pay is basically just transportation. Call an uber or a taxi and find another way to get to Annecy. We were left for 2 hours to just enjoy the small town. You can definitely spend more! Very cute town. The tour sucked and did not offer any guidance or information. Save your money and go on your own.

Quaint little town

Enjoyed exploring the little town of Annecy. The drive to and from the town took 2 hours and we had 2 hours to explore Annecy on our own. The guide gave us a quick tour around the area to highlight any places we wish to visit during our free time, including a French gelato and crepe restaurant to try. We went on a Sunday which was super busy with the Sunday market and there were tons of vendors in the old town so it was a little difficult to walk around and find a good spot for photos. Probably better to do the tour on another day. We got dropped off at the parking lot across the Key Tours office in Geneva which has a washroom open for visitors.

Annecy delivers beauty

Pleasant country road drive from Geneva to Annecy. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful old town.

Nature, history of a medieval town, lake, great food, picturesk landscape

Annecy is a wonderful hidden gem in the Alps. You can visit the market on sundays with fresh local food, have a boat tour in the lake or swim in the water among the mountains.

We really enjoyed our trip to Annecy. It was beautiful and we enjoyed Gabriel’s insights about the area.

Annecy from Geneva by Keytours

This was a great out of town trip from Geneva. Started 9am and got back sometime 145pm in Geneva. Gabriel did an awesome job in explaining and elaborating historical facts as we rode to countryside as well as while we were in Annecy. We weren't rushed and we took our time taking photos. I would recommend this trip to Geneva first timers.

Not enough time for this trip

Beautiful town but wish to have more free time in town. most of the time were spent on the road. Basically it’s a half day trip including long 2 hour drive

Quaint Village

Our driver took us to Annecy by the scenic route which was much more enjoyable than driving on the motorway. We had a lovely stop at a historic suspension bridge on the way. It was pleasant to stroll through the lanes in the old part of Annecy.

A trip to a fairytale location

What a breathtaking picturesque town. The tour made it so easy to visit in a day and return. Coaches were clean and comfortable and tour guides were great.

Annecy tour.

Annecy is a lovely city and well worth the visit. The historical and geographical context the guide, Gabriel provided was very helpful too. A good tour well worth doing. Gabriel has a somewhat unique style and contributed significantly to it being a good tour.

Perfect way to spend a day!

Everything was smooth and effortless. Our tour guide was lovely with a great sense of humor , very knowledgeable.

Must-see charming town

Gabriel was an amazing tour guide - very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared a lot of interesting information about the area on the way to Annecy. Once we arrived, Gabriel led us on a walking tour of the city before leaving us to explore on our own. Annecy is beautiful and so close to Geneva - it's worth a day trip! My only feedback would be that I wish we started the tour an hour or so later. When we arrived, a lot of shops were still closed and it was very quiet around the town. The market was on so I recommend walking through there before exploring the rest of the town - if you like to shop.

A perfect day trip!

You will love this town, the lake has very good spots to make great pictures, everything is fabulous, the market on sundays is fantastic. It's really a perfect day trip!

Beautiful Excursion

Lovely French excursion in my Switzerland trip! I really loved Annecy, it may be my favorite of all the places in visited on my trip. Relaxing, beautiful, explore at your own pace. Highly recommend.

it would've been cheaper to book a 2-way bus ticket and enjoy the city at my convenience. Also, future flexibility to change change dates would be appreciated

Fun trip from Geneve

Beautiful landscape! Great place to visit. Interesting walk around the city! Best stop at bridge you can walk across.

The city is absolutely must see

We had a great experience, but we should’ve just taken a bus and get there because once we were over there, we had about 10 minutes of guidance before we were on our own for the whole time. A little bit pricey for not a lot of information from the guide.

Just a Transfer

It was Just a Transfer to Annecy because the driver took there and gave us free time .. he did not give us the 45 min walking tour

Zara was a great guide! I enjoyed the fast pace of the tour and then the ability to explore on my own. I was traveling alone after a work trip and this was an easy and comfortable way to do so.

Perfect tour for a perfect town

Perfect guided tour to spend half a day. It’s a beautiful medieval town on the French side just about an hour from Geneva. Perfect way to go visit.

Memorable

Gabriel was a great tour guide and the trip itself was memorable. So surprised to still experience some Christmas market stands, lovely

Don’t do this!

Too miserable of an experience to write about it. Call me if you really want to know. I would like to get a refund. Call me only if that’s even an option

Lovely day in Annecy

Lovely city and easy ti do in half a day, i loved the canals and the hustiry of the city. Beutiful place.

Gabriel the guide was...

Gabriel the guide was very knowledgeable and fascinating. He made the whole trip fun. The driver was funny and entertaining as well.

Annecy is charming but tour timing can be better

Annecy is a charming village however the tour timing is not good! We arrived early (ie. 10:30am) when no shops were opened (not even the Xmas market) and we barely had time for lunch. Most restaurants open at 12pm and we had to leave at 12:45pm for the return to Geneva.

Could be better

It was ok. The tour leaves Geneva at 9am and arrives at just after 10am but nothing is open until at least 11-11.30 so you are just left wandering around. Then by the time you have a quick look around and some lunch it is time to leave. Suggest making the tour departure time from Geneva 10 am and leaving Annecy at 2pm.

Beautiful Place

Trip started at the bus station where we met our fabulous guide Gabriel and our driver Patrick. Gabriel gave us great onsite to Geneva and the links to Annecy. We then had a great walk with Gabriel who walked with us and gave us great info on Annecy and what we needed to visit. Unsure if market is on every day but definitely worth a walk around. Will hopefully go back one day when it’s not raining where I should imagine it’s even more beautiful.

Highly recommend! Absolutely beautiful clean, friendly town. Old town and lakefront are gorgeous. My husband is sorry he couldn’t accompany me. Our guide Gabriel was excellent!

On arrival at Annecy...

On arrival at Annecy there was very little guidance. The place was unfamiliar. There should have been more of a tour of the town of Annecy.

Worth the trip!

Great half day trip. Lasted 5 hours from start to finish and it was sufficient time. Christmas market was unexpected and added a nice surprise to visit. Really is a beautiful place. Thanks

Storybook feel

What a beautiful town! Even though it was a rainy day we enjoyed exploring the town and lake side. We were lucky the day we choose had a local market Only wish we had more time to spend in the pretty town.

The market and the climb to the fort. The best ice cream we have ever had from Des de Alps. Voted the best in all France apparently.

The perfect morning in France

Absolutely a dream! Our tour guide happily played photographer and their some of our favorites of the whole trip. Our tour was on a Saturday which meant it was a little crowded but they had an amazing vintage market that made it totally worth it!

Worth the trip

We were there on a Sunday, so there were lots of street markets that were amazing. And the architecture of this old city is fascinating, not to mention the scenery on the drive to and from. We had taken a train trip through the Alps, so the different scenery on this drive through non-mountainous terrain was interesting.

Annecy, a French Gem

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about Geneva and Annecy. Annecy is a beautiful old town situated with mountains in the background and on the shore of Lake Annecy. It’s a charming French village, very friendly people and lovely cafes.

Bucket List ✔️

Annecy is just gorgeous, not much of a walking tour though, We enjoyed wandering around on our own. It would be a good idea to reiterate Everywhere that you need to bring your PASSPORT. An enjoyable morning out.

Loved this half-day trip to Annecy, France!

This was an easy and enjoyable half day trip to the beautiful and picturesque town of Annecy, France. Our bus driver was very professional, and the large bus was very comfortable for the trip to and from Annecy. Our tour guide was very friendly and cheerful as she gave us great information about the countryside, the city of Annecy, and the countries of Switzerland and France. The weather was perfect for this trip, and I enjoyed photographing this charming old town area. This was a trip I would do another time and recommend to friends and family, as it was an easy, enjoyable, and very picturesque trip.

Perfect!

It was sunday and the market was there and it was fun, I wish that I had more time to experience more the waters and the environment… Is a beautiful place but not much to do, but if you are a nature lover like me you will enjoy it.

Great simple , easy day trip

A very lovely easy day trip from Geneva - nicely done , very comfortable bus transportation, while a wonderful friendly , informative pleasant guide ( Zara ) The tour was simple , easy and just the right amount of time for someone like myself that doesn’t like feeling trapped in an all day experience. Highly recommended, as an alternative for a nice early afternoon adventure!

It’s a beautiful place...

It’s a beautiful place even in the rain, but is very touristy and busy after midday. The Cathedral is beautiful and, if you’re staying in the area, hosts some great concerts.
