Book a 4x4 tour with an open top

It's a full day touring and you do see lots of the island. However, our driver was lacking on Island knowledge and this really took away from the experience. The land rover was good but if you are booking this type of tour book an open top jeep as most of the views cannot be seen from a jeep without one. Would I do it again? Maybe, but with a driver who gives more information.

Perfect tour and the guide also ( filipe ) who is an amazing tour guide for a long time here on the island and knows all the secret places and tricks

It meets all our expectations

We had a very good tour of most of the sights and attractions of the island. Our driver knew exactly where he was going including 'shortcuts' which needed the 4 wheel jeep to do its business. These shortcuts were incredibly steep and narrow, both going up and going down. We would highly recommend. Avoid Sundays as the little seaside villages do get very busy.

Great view points

Great way to see so much of the island. Our guide was very informative and entertaining. Whole day was enjoyable.

Fun, magnificent day.

Joseph was fantastic. We had such a fun day. Joseph shared his love extensive know ledge of Madeira. Answered our questions, took us to fantastic places. Will definitely come back to stay as we were on a cruise this time.

Especally in winter , less crowded and perfect guide!

All you need for one perfect day! We had it all: Natural Pools, Offroad Trips, Viewpoints... Best Tourguide who knows a lot! Small company wich i recommend. We had a 3 year with us and it worked perfectly

A great day out

Brilliant, we had a fantastic and exhilarating day out with Julianos on and off-road tour around the west of the island from sea-side villages to the upper highlands of Madeira. It was fun, not for the feint hearted. Some amazing vistas and interesting places. Highly recommended.

We had the BEST time...

We had the BEST time touring the island!!! Justino was super friendly, funny and knowledgable. He is also the BEST driver and we felt super safe off-roading with him. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madeira.

Truck messy and squashy

The trucks are old and there is no leg room in the back seat. The first stop was lovely. We were told to meet at a spot and we waited for 40 minutes before they come for us

Not your average tour

Justin was an amazing driver! He showed us the whole beautiful island. Ordered great weather for us too. We experienced the food of the island as recommended by him-So Good! Adrenaline was had by all!!

A day to remember

Felippe our driver was great fun and an excellent driver. The weather on the top was shrouded in mist so couldn’t appreciate the scenary but we nevertheless enjoyed all our stops, the drive up narrow lanes and the off road section. The natural pools on the North coast were lively although due to the weather we did not try them. Our return trip back to the cruise ship was delayed due to unexpected tunnel closure works but Felippe got us back in time with his excellent driving although we needed a stiff drink once on board, so thankful that we did not miss our departure.,

What a fun day out!

It was brilliant, Justino gave us a great and exciting tour of Madeira. A mix of interesting villages, key view points and challenging off-road 4x4 trails. Not for the faint hearted though. There were some thrilling tracks & hair-pin mountain roads. Highly recommended.

Action Packed, Beautiful sites, Wine, Beach & More. A Value~

What a value!!! We saw so much more than expected and were not hurried. The land rover accompanied 3 couples and we had enough room to enjoy ourselves. We saw a fishing village and got to walk around, cable car down to the beach, way down to the beach, another park at a high point, saw the beautiful ocean with huge waves. Had over an hour to walk around. There were pools of water you can swim in but at this time were closed. No worries, there was so much shoreline to admire and small restaurants to eat at. We had a deep sea fish that was baked and sautéed in a banana, passion fruit puree, better than what was on the ship. We stopped at a black beach for 30 minutes, then a waterfall and finally tasted some wine of various ages and I sampled the puncha (extra but I think like 5 EU) that has a nice kick but oh so smooth. Our driver, was so laid back and accommodating. I am sorry I cannot remember his name but it started with a "J". Oh and did mention the off roading? Scary and fun. Our guide was an excellent driver. It is a small company and the chances are good you will get him.

Amazing

A fantastic full day experience. Justino is an excellent driver and gave us lots of information and options along the way. I am a 51 year old mum and enjoyed every minute, as did my 16 year old son. Highlights - the off road experience, the natural pools and the pleasant walk. I would highly recommend.

Exhilarating experience

We loved going off-road in the jeep. Lots of 'short cuts' too. Nothing was rushed and our driver made everyone feel safe and gave us a great time.

If you’re in Madeira do it

We had a wonderful experience from the beginning to end. Justino, our guide and driver was friendly and super fun. He introduced us to shortcuts which left us smiling for hours. We visited remarkable places and met the locals at the pub where we drunk the best poncha. I also tried the banana beer. Never heard of it. It was so lovely, very subtle flavour of banana. The swimming at the beach was one of the kind with pure black sand and powerful waves. Be careful not to be dragged into the ocean. I would recommend it to everyone. Those with some walking issues will be fine.

Had a fantastic time with Justino on the tour- very informative and I learned a ton of things I wouldn’t have picked up or seen had I decided to diy this route in a rental car. Tons of fun, book this one!

Amazing

We had an amazing time! Filipe was an amazing, funny, witty and friendly guide. He had me and my partner laughing from the start. Despite the rainy weather, it was still brilliant. The sights were beautiful. The communication was great with company, when we contacted them on WhatsApp they responded quickly and very polite. I would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

A really great day—and that’s it. That’s the bottom line.

Phillip was a really fun guide to the island home he loves so much. We totally enjoyed this trip and his informative commentary—would 100% recommend. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone loves spectacular Madeira and their time here. We hit so many high spots and back roads without having to drive or figure out buses, which is major for me! Oh and he has a great laugh, so it was lovely to hear it so exuberantly and so often.

Fun outta Funchal

Justino drove up up up, down down down and went above and beyond for us. Even though he does this every day, he made us feel like we were unique. We had a blast, learned a ton and had an incredible experience. 🙌🚙🧡

Terrific and fun tour

This is one of the highlights of our time in Madeira. The tour was SO much fun and we learned and saw a lot. The time for exploring at each spot was good, our guide, Justino, was great and was an excellent and daring driver. If there is only one tour you can take in Madeira, take this one!

Unforgettable day trip

In one day you can get a real taste of the island, literally: bananas, wine & Poncha to scenic views and a wild ride to boot in a 4x4 Jeep. At one point I thought we wouldn’t make through a rather deep mud pit but Justino is an experienced off-roadster & handled everything like a pro. He knows the roads, animals, people and terrain and was absolutely the best guide we could’ve asked for! Watch out when he tells you there’s a short cut and then HANG ON! 👍

Nuno was outstanding. Very informative, knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. The scenery was beautiful and views of the island breathtaking.

A fabulous day trip exploring the west and north side of the Island

We had a wonderful day exploring this beautiful Island with our excellent guide and driver Justino . The off road driving was exciting and we felt very safe with Justino driving. I highly recommend this day trip as it gives a great overview of the west and north side of the Island .

Brilliant fun

Amazing day out with guide Justino. Impressive driving skills! 3 generations on our trip aged between 14 and 80 and we all loved it. Great way to see more of the island and the natural pools were beautiful. Would definitely recommend this trip.

Felipe was awesome and...

Felipe was awesome and entertaining. There were only 3 of us, which made for a more personalized trip. I guarantee that you'll see things and places you would never have seen in a rental car. As a lifelong resident and guide, Felipe was wonderful!

Bravery required for jeep tour

Scenery, waterfalls, agriculture, cliffside homes, this place has it all and a unique airport where we are stuck for for five hours and counting. This site won’t allow me to include pictures.

Western trip

100% recommended, I had a wonderful day visiting the western part of the island. Definitely will repeat in the future

Shortcuts lol

Full day ADVENTURE! Amazing Sights, action, ocean, and drinks at the end in an old, authentic bar (do the wine tasting, but get a Poncha also). Well worth the price. Justino was great, humorous, and a little crazy. Super fun.

Adventure drive through the island

We had our Wow effect !! We had our driver Justino who drove us to the indicated spots, but we drove mostly off the highway on very tiny or natural roads, even off-road! ! Very interesting views, good time management and Justino was very knowledgeable about the island and its culture! It’s definitely worth the price

Wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this tour!! You get to see a big part of the west part of the island and the off roading was so fun. Our driver clearly knew what he was doing and made the experience work by stopping and having us try local things like bananas and wine. Perfect day!

Great day in Madeira!

This was a fantastic way to spend a day in Madeira! Maurico was a superb guide and made it extra fun. From the history, mountains, 4 wheel experience, natural pools, and recommendation of great restaurant. The vistas we visited definitely were not accessible by van or bus. Excellent driver although occasionally took your breath away (which was part of the fun). Mauricio’s a native which adds so much more value. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Fun packed day out

We had an amazing day. So much to see and do with an excellent guide. Amazing views and incredible experience on those roads in the Jeep! He gave us so much information on the island as well as tips for great bars and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Great Day in Madeira

Nuno was an excellent guide! We really enjoyed our drive around this lovely island—especially the off roading! The village, the cliffs, the tide pools, the mountains—it was so much fun! I would suggest that in the future you provide headsets to the guests and a microphone to the driver. Nuno had such interesting information, but the folks in the back of the jeep could not hear him,

Justino was a fab tour guide!

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Justino. We had a nice small group and had plenty of time at each stop. The off-roading was definitely the most fun part and props to Justino for being able to navigate the roads as well as he did! Highly recommend :)

Natural Swimming Pools are the best!

The Natural Swimming Pools, got to swim in them! We got to travel roads that regular cars can't traverse. Mauricio was great; always trying to scare us. And a great story teller. Thank you Mauricio!

Great way to explore Madeira

Our guide was extremely knowledable of the area. Was able to take shortcuts and detours to avoid tourist areas and were able to get amazing solo pictures. Overall very fun and saw a lot of the island and experiences in one day

Best experience ever!

Worth every penny! If you are still considering if booking this tour is good idea or not, I can easily say - go for it without any hesitation! Big kudos to our driver Justino!!! He not only drives as professional racer, but he is also a good enternaiter, very charismatic person, and (you won't believe) a good photographer! He knew each Madeira corner by heart and was not even using GPS device to drive us through various "shortcuts". Best time ever! We would go this tour again just because it is super fun - doesn't matter even if we go to visit the same famous places in Madeira. Thank you Justino! You rock :)

Fantastic cross country trip in a land rover!

We had a great time with Nuno in a land rover. He took us on several 'short cuts' that were not quite terrifying (!) and took us to places we would not otherwise have seen. We visited some fantastic view sites both up high and at the coast and his commentary and local knowledge made the day special. We would both highly recommend this as a great way to start a holiday in Madeira
