Remote K'gari (Fraser Island) & Whale Experience

Thar’ She Blows!

Firstly, apologies for the late review! An amazing day out on the water seeing the wildlife and enjoying some of the beaches on Fraser Islands west shore. Had mainly chosen the tour for the Humpback Whales and we were not disappointed. We were late in the season and the weather was a “bit fresh” but still saw Mothers and Calves, would definitely plan to come back another time, early in the season when the chances of closer encounters or even being able to get in the water with them are better. Also spent some time ashore, walking the (almost) deserted beaches, canoeing in the creeks and climbing Sand Dunes (hard going but with the view from the top). Transfers to the beach are by boat but the crew kept tabs on everyone and ensured that everyone could do things at their own pace. Food and drinks served throughout, definitely a tour for the wildlife lovers with a bit of adventure thrown in!

Fantastic whale spotting experience

This trip was perfect from start to finish, such a memorable experience. We saw so many whales on their migration, we definitely lost count. Single whales, pods, mothers with their calves, we were extremely lucky that day. The crew was excellent at spotting whales in the distance and pulling up close without ever interfering with these majestic creatures. Great opportunities to take photos from a short distance. The crew was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the whales and marine wildlife conservation efforts. We then landed on Fraser Island with an amphibian vehicle which was quite the highlight. The kayaking and floating experiences were truly unique and we also had some time to relax on the beach and enjoy the warm waters. Later we climbed one of the famous sand dunes and enjoyed the magnificent views. Morning tea and lunch were also very enjoyable. The whole trip was very well planned and executed, and the crew was outstanding. If I could give ten stars I would. Keep up the great work!

Amazing trip

Excellent organised trip to Fraser Island

Carolina organised this trip very very well! The activities were very variously. Lunch and snacks were excellent. We had a perfect time on this 9 hour trip to Fraser Island

Would give 6 stars if I could

What an amazing day, the crew worked so hard to make the trip enjoyable. We did kayaking, tube riding and snorkelling, not to mention whale watching galore. Excellent commentary and opportunities for photos, highlight was when they cut the engine and put the microphone in so we could hear the whale song. Exceeded expectations in all aspects, including the morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

An amazing experience

Fantastic day out to see the majestic hump back whales up close. We were lucky enough to see many of them with their calves putting on a show. The staff were great & lunch provided was nice. The only downfall was that we felt the activities were a little rushed & we did not get to see much of K’gari Island. Overall an amazing experience and I would highly recommend taking this tour.

Unreal experience

Incredible experience, the staff were fantastic, knowledgeable, couple bumps outside of their control but didn’t affect the day at all. Would highly recommend for those looking to do a little more than just whale watching.

Had an awesome day with Tasman Ventures, could not fault them. Plenty of activities to do and many whale sightings. Best day whilst on our holiday.

An amazing experience

We got to see so many whales and had the opportunity to swim with them! The staff is amazing, they were very nice, fun and experienced. Great activities, delicious food. Exceeded my expectations!

Excellence all day cruise for whale watching & to K’gari island.

Fantastic cruise with all very experienced staff members. They are all very knowledgeable & friendly. I had done 5 whale watching over the years & this is the best ever. Saw about 10 whales all together & very close up. The whales was playing & flipping very close to our boat. This is a all day cruise with Whale watching & to K’gari island which was called Fraser Island before. It is a beautiful island & you can do snorkelling, kayaking & swimming there. Morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea also included. They will also accommodate dietary requirements. & they offer most of the hotels & motels free pick up. I will be back for sure.🥰

Fantastic day

One of the best days of my whole trip! We saw SO many whales - breaching and fin slapping and chasing each other. We got to get in the water and swim with them. The crew were so friendly, knowledgeable and respectful of the whales. The lunch was delicious too and great for vegetarian! Can’t recommend enough

Fantastic tour, worth all the money

Excellent tour! Staff were so kind and friendly. We saw loads of whales and the staff gave a very informative presentation about them. We also did kayaking and tubing which were really fun and we visited remote places on the island which were beautiful! Highly recommend!

A must do in Hervey Bay!

The most amazing and once in a lifetime experience. The staff are fantastic and so knowledgeable. The whales were all extremely curious and came so close to the boat which was unreal. We were able to get into the water with these gentle giants and get up close in their natural habitat. Great food, service and boat. A must do!

Great Sightseeing Experience - w/ 1-year old

My wife and I joined this tour with our 12-month old baby. We were worried that we were pushing it by bringing a 1-year old along, but the crew and passengers were all fine with her, and she enjoyed seeing the whales and experiencing the island. We unfortunately caught a little bad weather for about 1 hour of the day, but the crew did their best to adjust the schedule, and we only missed out on a portion of the experience.

An amazing trip, so much to do and see!

Such an amazing trip!! 100% recommend. We saw so many whales (no pics cos they’re all videos🤣). We wanted something more than just a boat trip spotting some whales and we definitely got that! Snorkelling, getting in with the whales, kayaking, walking, and even tubing 😅 Such a great, informative & friendly team who clearly love what they do!

Best day ever!!

Best day ever!! Travelled on the 24/7/2023 with Lloyd, Harmony, Josh and Leah as my guides for the day! The crew were amazing, so friendly, helpful, chatty and you could see their love for the job!! We were fortunate to get a chance to swim with the whales, IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!! We saw lots of behaviours from the boat too, Leah was very educational with her talk. Harmony was amazing on Fraser Island, very passionate and informative about the island and dingoes! The day was full of activities, kayaking and tubing was awesome! The food was great, wide selection even for veggies! It was a cold rainy day on our tour but it didn't dampen the mood, hot showers on board and hot chocolate kept us warm! Would definitely tour again with them, felt very safe and secure and didn't feel like we pushed the whales or chased them, the whales had the freewill to leave us at any point. Best day, great team, would 1000% recommend!

Perfect Adventure Mix

A well designed experience combining whale watching, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, tubing and exploring. Friendly, fun, knowledgeable and energetic staff. A perfect number of customers so did not feel too crowded. A treat to have good food for morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch. Catered well for vegetarians.

Best day ever!

This was the most incredible day! We swam in the water with whales, saw dolphins, dugongs, dingos and turtles. The kids loved the sea biscuit ride and the K’gari was beautiful. Exceeded all our expectations!

Special tour with amazing people

What else as amazing can we say? It was just a wonderful day with great once in a lifetime experiences. The whale’s, the crew, the food and the adventures were stunning. We saw at least 15 whales and it was really amazing. If you want a very special experience in your holiday this tour is a must!!!

Best trip we have done in Oz

A fabulous day with a knowledgable friendly crew. Couldn’t fault it snorkelling kyaking sand dune climb. The whale watching was amazing with great information on them

Great day out

Lloyd, Allan, Mel and Harmony were just fantastic, proving that even when the weather is rubbish you can still have a five star experience! They shared all their knowledge, found us both whales and turtles and made our day extra fun!

A must do experience

This tour was the highlight of our trip I cannot recommend it enough! The whole experience from start to finish was magical. The crew went the extra mile for all passengers to ensure they had the best possible day out! From the majestic humpback whales, to exhilarating ride on a tube behind the boat, to kayaking fresh water streams to snorkelling with tropical fish. There was nothing not to like. A special mention to Cate for our being so bubbly to talk to, your interaction with us made it even more enjoyable! 10/10 tour for sure.

Fun Day Our

This was the perfect Day out - we had the right mix of Whale watching and island experiences, snacks and Lunch are adequate , but what made ithe trip even better are the Staff , Melanie was great with her whale knowledge ,while Harmony and Alan’s enthusiasm was catching . Loyd the skipper kept everything running on schedular while ensuring we never felt rushed, Its a full day out and would throughly recommend if you have the time.

A truly wonderful day to remeber

What an amazing day. The staff onboard were fabulous, knowledgeable and so welcoming and friendly. Our whole family loved this day from beginning to end. But actually being in the water with the whales was mind-blowing. The beaches, sand blows and streams of the western side of K'Gari was so beautiful. Getting there on 'sea legs' made it all so easy.

What an amazing day we had. My grandkids really enjoyed it too and they're only 5 and 7. We were well looked after. Plenty of food amd drinks. Activities were much fun. A great day.

Best experience ever

This was the most fun and magical day ever! I couldn’t rate this adventure more highly. The crew were incredible, especially with my toddler, and they catered so well to our dietary requirements. All in all, an experience that will stay with us forever. So worth it on every level.

Perfect Family Day Out with something for everyone!

As a family of 6 it was a big investment to head out on this day trip but well worth it. We can see why this company consistently gets great reviews… the day was action packed but not rushed and full of opportunity for everyone. Our kids are aged 7-13 and they loved every minute. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone is having a good time and they seem genuinely happy to be out on the bay sharing what Fraser and Hervey have to offer. We saw plenty of whales, snorkelled with turtles, climbed sand hills with pristine white sand, kayaked through a freshwater creek, bounced along the water behind the speed boat and ate lots of yummy food! Wetsuits kept us warm, snorkelling gear was in good condition and drinks were well priced. Thank you for a great day!

Fabulous day with plenty of activities

Super day out with our crew Brent, Carolen, Allan and Harmony. Professional and informative. We spotted lots of whales including several mums and calves. And were lucky enough to have a few friendly whales come up to the boat for an in water encounter. Impressed with the way this was handled and the respectful way whale encounters and viewing were handled. We had a great time kayaking upstream on Fraser, zipping along on the inflatable couch behind the boat and climbing the dune. We even saw a dingo! Plentiful food and hot drinks, and hot showers appreciated as it was a bit chilly. A long day packed with activities that was thoroughly enjoyable and great value. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience

Amazing one day experience packed with fun activities and incredible whale encounters. The lovely and hardworking crew made the day even more enjoyable, even in not the most optimal of weather conditions.

This was an excellent tour which was great value for money and gave us a fantastic experience of Fraser Island. I was a bit concerned when I saw the reviews were pretty much all positive (figured that was a bit suss) but it absolutely lived up to all expectations! We saw so many whales throughout the day, and when we weren’t whale watching we were undertaking fantastic guided activities on the secluded Fraser Island (including kayaking, tubing, climbing sand dunes and snorkeling - where we saw 2 sea turtles). My only recommendation is to take a jacket as it can get cold on the boat, but then sit back and relax because the friendly crew will take care of the rest. Would recommend to family, friends and random people on the street.

JUST DO IT !!

This tour ticks ALL the boxes. So well organised from start to finish. All of the crew were incredibly professional, friendly, enthusiastic and they worked tirelessly ALL day to ensure every person on board had an unforgettable experience. Mel and Allan were so informative with regards to the Humpback Whales and K'gari. Harmony's enthusiasm for life was a joy. The Whales certainly came to play and at times it was hard to know where to look as there were pods all around us !! Getting in the water and so close to these majestic, graceful animals was AMAZING!!! The crew ensured that anyone who was keen, could get in the water with the whales that were interested in us. They showed utmost respect to the whales and allowed them to decide whether or not they engaged with our boat. We were fortunate to see a couple of dingoes running along the beach as we approached K'gari. The views from the top of the sand dune are spectacular, as is the kayaking through the mangroves. Everyone loved the tube ride and the snorkelling. This tour offers something for everyone who loves the ocean, wildlife and a bit of adventure, and all in a day, delivered by a passionate group of wonderful young crew and their Skipper. Would recommend this tour and Tasman Ventures crew

Amazingly relaxed gently energetic and enjoyable day. The crew made this happen for us with their talent, friendly no problem attitude & working hard all day to make our day really fun. We loved all of the activities. Adored seeing all the whales everywhere at one point, and the opportunity to swim with them. We were fed well and plenty, able to help yourself to drinks and snacks as required. The surrounding area of K’gari was so well chosen for peaceful beauty while frolicking in the waves, snorkelling and seeing under water wildlife and a green turtle! Only thing I was slightly disappointed we didn’t sea kayak in the pristine sea waters - as this was in the advertising photos so I was looking forward to this activity. The river paddle was fine but not quite as expected. Not sure if this is a seasonal thing & there’s a reason for choosing a creek paddle over sea kayaking.

The best hump back whale experience you will ever have!!!

The Tasman adventure remote Fraser Island and whale adventure is probably the best hump back whale experience you will have and best day of your life ever!!! This boat is like a whale magnet. We were also so lucky to have so many whales coming up to have a look at our boat and had a couple of whale immersion swims. But it is the overall experience of the day that is truly amazing. Not only do you get to whale watch and swim with whales, you also get to snorkel with lots of fish, turtles and sting rays, kayaking in a remote creek on western side of pristine K'gari (Fraser Island), trek up a giant sand dune to look at views to die for and zoom around on a tube seat behind a boat. The morning tea and lunch was beautiful and the staff are fantastic. We had Mel as our guide telling us all about whale behaviour and Indigenous stories and history of K'gari (Fraser Island). Overall an amazing day a must do for everyone if you love whales.

Unforgettable.

Such an amazing day. Saw a total of 3 whales. The first one wasn't interacting with us much so we moved on and met a couple of sub-adults who were more sociable. They swam under the boat and kept popping up on either side. It was breathtaking. Sadly we didn't get the chance to get in the water with them, but to see them so close was still an unforgettable experience. The remote areas of K'gari that we visited were stunning. I joined my teenage daughters for the tubing and, in their words, LMAO! (Tubing is when you get pulled behind a speed boat on an inflatable.) The kayaking and climbing the sand dune were also stunning. All in all, a day I'll never forget. On a practical level, the boat had 2 toilets and we had mid-morning tea, coffee & cakes, lunch and an afternoon snack of cheese and crackers. We're veggies and were provided for adequately. Wetsuits, flippers, snorkels and noodle floats were provided. We needn't have brought our wet shoes - bare foot was fine. Being July, it was cold first thing but warmed up as the day wore on. So bring warm layers for the morning, and plenty of sun cream. The team at Tasman Venture were friendly and well-organised. Worth every penny.

Amazing Day

What an awesome day. We were so lucky to have several immersion swims with the whales. At one stage whilst in the water, there were five whales in front of me...unbelievable experience. Saw over at least a dozen whales throughout the day. Also kayaking in a remote creek on western side of pristine K'gari (Fraser Island), seeing plenty of wildlife including a dingo, loggerhead turtle, stingrays & dolphins. What more could you ask...and what a fabulous crew on the day - big thanks to Caro, Melanie, Bec, Llyod and BJ. Highly recommend. Already recommending to friends and family as a "must do" with Tasman Adventures who also sent links to photos of the whales.
