Lovely day tour!

The tour was spectacular! We had Martin as our guide, he was very informative, kind and a pleasure to spend the day with. We felt like we were in safe hands. I would highly recommend this tour and Martin as we able to relax and explore some beautiful parts of the Scottish countryside.

Whiskey, waterfall and friends.

I have been on another tour with highland with Laurie and we had an absolutely amazing time :) Laurie’s driving skills are really good and her knowledge of the areas and history was commendable. We also got a little treat!! While we were on lunch break Laurie got us IrnBurn and Tunnocks. When I Scotland we couldn’t miss these. It’s a beautiful route with plenty breaks. It’s a long day but it did not feel like it at all. We had a really lovely time. You can go on tours but what makes them special is the people. Laurie’s mum if you are reading this you should be really proud 😊

Whiskey and waterfalls day trip

We had a phenomenal day with our guide Laurie Anderson. She was full of wonderful information about the area and sprinkled in some funny stories and interesting folklore. She was also kind enough to share a local snack with everyone on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun day trip from Edinburgh. Ask for Laurie - you’ll have a great day!

Miserable trip!

It was bad enough there were some people on the bus that caused delays, but the bus was hot and everyone was complaining to the driver who refused to put the AC on until the last 30 minutes and he didn’t even take us everywhere we were scheduled to go!

Great trip

It was a great trip to the Kelpies, distillery, a lunch by the river and a small walk to the waterfall. Our guide Louise was excellent and Heidi our driver was also wonderful. Good trip to take if you don't have your own vehicle and want to cover good ground in less time.

Fantastic tour outside Edinburgh

Fantastic tour outside Edinburgh. Wonderful places, expecially the Hermitage and The Glenturret Distillery. A special thanks to Cara for her sympathy and for prompt answers to all our questions.

Whisky and Waterfalls tour was fabulous

We had a wonderful tour with Louise. We had a bit of rain at the start but by mid afternoon ithe weather was very pleasant. She was very friendly and informative and made the tour lots of fun with her stories snd narrative and played us some beautiful Scottish music. It was a small group of 7 which made it very easy for everyone to participate. The whisky tasting was great. Best whisky we have tried here in Scotland. The visit to The Hermitage was fabulous, such a beautiful walk thru the forest and the waterfalls were amazing

Entertaining and totally worth it

Alistair was a lovely tour guide who kept us entertained with his deep knowledge of history of England and Scotland throughout the bus journey. He ensured that there was never a dull moment on the trip. He ferried us back and forth on time and drove very safely. Thanks Alistair for the fun trip!!

I was an amazing time

It was an amazing tripwe had Alistair he was super funny he told plenty of jokes and told some amazing history through out the ride!

Amazing tour, fun guide.

The trip was really nice. Alistair was a great guide and told us many stories from Scottish history. The weather was nice, which made the whole trip just that much better.

Great time!

I believe Dusty was our driver on my trip - he said he had been with the company for only a year but I wouldn’t have been able to guess that! Not only was he an amazing bus driver navigating tight busy streets and pulling into tight spots, but he was a great story teller and informational guide. If there was an answer he didn’t know, he looked it up for us!

Informative and interesting

Whiskey, Scenic Views, Art and Hairy Coos

Fantastic Day tour! Cara and Brodie led the tour with trainees. They were all knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Cara did a great job in the lead, providing ample information with awareness of when to give travelers time to absorb the material and the sites. In addition to their knowledge, the guides are clearly fond of their country - which showed through.

Saw out 2023 in style

We did the last of these tours of 2023. Cara was the tour guide/driver. Had a great day. Cara was a very professional guide/driver friendly, informative and looked after us well in some trying conditions. We had some pretty heavy snow during the tour which meant some last minute changes and some taxing driving conditions. The distillery tour was just the right length and included a wee dram. A recommended tour during a visit to Edinburgh to allow you to see a bit more of Scotland.

Landscapes are amazing! The stops make the trip a lot more ease. The waterfalls are surreal, it is just the most beautiful place i've waled in Ireland. The whisky tour was very informative, the distillery is cozy, you can see an artesanal work there happening. We took the tour for the whisky stop so I think it was too short, I wished to taste more that one whisky, maybe three would've been better.

Great day trip

Fantastic day trip. Mark, our tour guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery was gorgeous, and the distillery tour was outstanding. I'd suggest it to anyone looking to get out of Edinburgh just for a day. Definitely suggest good, comfortable hiking boots or something, along with rain gear. Lunch is on the later side of the day, so make sure you grab breakfast before you go.

Great whiskey and colorful storytelling

We had Sophie as our guide and she was wonderful. She gave a lot of great historical and sometimes humorous facts about the landscapes and is a great storyteller. We had a small group so I felt like she really focused on us and got to know us all individually and answered any questions we had. Glenturret was amazing! Very high end and the whiskey was fantastic. If you're lucky you get to meet some of the distillery cats too!

Great tour!

Very much enjoyed seeing the Kelpies, the Glenturret distillery and the hermitage. Our knowledgeable guide, Cliff, made it educational, enjoyable and fun! Would absolutely do it again (or any other tour Cliff was leading),

MUST GO!

10/10 this tour is amazing! The locations were beautiful and we felt like we had the perfect amount of time to soak it all in! Cliff was our guide and he added so much by sharing Scottish history facts all along the trip. We will be taking more tours with this company in the future. Victoria made us feel well taken care of by placing us on a later tour when we missed our initial time.

Great Experience

We had an incredible day on the Whisky and Highland Waterfalls Day Trip with Highland Explorer Tours from Edinburgh! The tour was well-organized, and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Great and educational experience!

We had Rich as our bus driver and tour guide and it was a real treat. His knowledge of Scottish history was of course fantastic but his personal connection to the places we were in added an extra level to the trip. The tour of Glenturret was also very educational and really well done!

This was a beautiful tour. Got to see a different part of Scotland from Edinburgh which wasn’t very known of to me. Paul was our guide and he was sweet and helpful. This was a very relaxing and beautiful tour. Would definitely recommend it.

Relaxing way to see lots of sites.

Great fun seeing all the sites. Our guide Dusty was informative but also funny. A good way to see multiple sites without worrying about driving and ticket lines.

Great Whisky Tour

I took a tour with Paul on August 5th. It was a great tour. He provided entertaining music and historical facts throughout the day. It was a great day to learn some history and enjoy some whisky.

Great views, knowledgeable and fun guide

If you’re only able to get out and see the country for a day, this is a great day trip to see a lot quickly. Our tour guide Kieran was knowledgeable and entertaining. My tween was introduced to a lot of Scottish history and my husband and I walked away with newfound historical and cultural knowledge—and a new favorite whiskey.

Wonderful Whisky and Highlands experience

A great Whisky- and Highland experience with symphatic, funny and great tourguides: Kieran and Paul. They told us very interesting things about Scotland and gave us lots opportunities to see the landscapes and take pictures. We walked across the Hermitage, we stayed in Dunkeld for lunch and in the destilary we could try the best Whisky. We are very thankful for the funny day.

Bus Tour

This tour was a lovely break from long city walks where it’s sensory overload. I got to enjoy seeing a bunch of different views and the tour guides chimed in with a bit of history as we passed by certain locations. It was a nice way to get to see a lot of Scotland! Kieran and Paul where absolutely great!

The trip was an amazing blend of tastes, sights and stories, with enough time inbetween to not feel rushed, while still being a cohesive and manageable experience. Tiegan was a wonderful, smiling and professional host/guide with funny tales and a whitty humor! Can highly recommend.

Tourguide Alister, great! Good driver, a lot of knowledge and nice storys to tell. In between storys there was scottish music. Also got to see cows :)

Allister did an amazing job guiding the tour, keeping everyone timely, and giving relevant facts along the way. He also has a witty dry humor that keeps you engaged if you pay attention.

Whisky&Waterfalls

It was a very nice trip. My trip's driver was Paul, and he was really lovely. Very nice, friendly and had a lot of interesting stories, history and fun facts to tell. The tour stops at several spots, and there is enough time to explore everywhere. The distillery tour was really interesting, the waterfall quite a sight and the lunch break in Dunkeld was wonderful. Paul gave advice what's especially worth checking out and where to eat. He was generally very considerate of the group's needs. Very cool tour, would recommend!
