Great day trip from Edinburgh to see castles and the beauty of Scotland.

We had a memorable time on this day tour. Sterling Castle was very interesting, and stopping by a couple of the lochs was beautiful. The highlands are really breathtaking. Highland cows are not really plentiful to see, but our driver made sure we had that opportunity - and she shared a lot of interesting facts along the drive! The tour took a little longer than advertised, but it was definitely worth the day trip. We would recommend it!

Great tour with Jim Scott!

Amazing tour with Jim Scott, who is a very brilliant and funny guide. He cheered us up all trip long with so many interesting fun facts. He gaves us many advices as a local authentic Scottish. Highly recommended.

Many photo opportunities

Despite it being a long , full day, Jim Borland, our guide, did a wonderful job of filing the drive time with stories about Scotland's history, people, and culture. The tour itself is full of photo opportunities along the way including several scenic lochs and castles. We were given an ample amount of time in Stirling and the town of Inverary to grab a bite, see the sites, and shop. Thank you Jim for a wonderful, fun filled day!

Highlands and Castles

Stephen, a native Scotsman, was the tour leader and driver. He was a wealth of information and made the day very enjoyable. Had the opportunity to tour 2 castles and photo op for the third ancient Kilchurn castle. When I told Stephen that Kilchurn was my Campbell family ancient castle, he gave ancient history up to the current castle that is home to the Campbell clan. He assisted other tour members with ideas for further exploration. I felt safe in the tour bus. USB and USB-c hook ups.

Awesome trip through beautiful views of Scottish Highlands

Such a great experience, not too rushed, plenty breaks, gorgeous views, fun stories, banter, and fascinating history facts from our guide Russel(l?) - a delightful day trip! Only unfortunate thing was not being able to see the Doune castle, however it was closed due to Outlander shooting which makes it okay haha.

Great Highlands tour!

Our tour guide and driver, Russell, was phenomenal! He was funny and witty and kept us all engaged! The tour itself was fantastic! We stopped several times along the way for photos and to stretch out legs so we so far more than just what was on the itinerary! This was a great day trip and I highly recommend!

My wife and I cannot praise the professionalism, courtesy, fun, and memorable moments we had on our Rabbies company tour of Scotland by the best guide ever: Rhys! He took care to ensure we were safe, cared for (lots of toilet stops), and went above and beyond to ensure our small group got nothing short of the best 1-day experience you could wish for in Scotland. His historical knowledge, rich cultural background, and enjoyable persona was just the nicest thing, we felt so fortunate to have a tour guide of such outstanding caliber that I don’t think you could find elsewhere. Good value to see a lot of sites in the Highlands

Our driver, Des, shared a lot of interesting history about the places we visited during the tour. I was amazed at the number of sites we got to see during the 1 day tour -- multiple stops by lakes, castles, and farms to see sheep and hairy coos. The bus was comfortable with room to store backpacks and bags. If you're not planning to venture out of Edinburgh, this tour is a great option to experience the Highlands.

Fantastic day tour

We had Stuart as our guide, and he was fantastic -- we learned so much from him about Scotland's history and culture. The scenery on this trip was amazing, and Inverary Castle was a great place to visit. As a Python fan, the visit to Doune Castle was the best!

We would do it again!

Mina was a wonderful tour guide. She shared informative, interesting, and historical stories on each of the places we visited. Would definitely book another Rabbies tour. Our favorite part was visiting Doune Castle. If you are looking for a taste of the highlands but are short on time, this one day tour is perfect.

Great day!!! Saw so much!!

Our guide, Stuart, was amazing. I really enjoyed not only his commentary but chatting with him as well. Very personable!! We also all tried the Haggis later in week because he suggested us to!!

Highlands High!

A big shout out to Stuart who was the best guide ever regaling us with facts, stories and Scottish music. The itinerary was just right. Saw lovely sites. Got a great feel for Scottish culture. And thanks Stuart for recommending we try haggis bonbons. We did so at dinner that evening. They were amazing! Cheers!

West Highlands Tour

Did this trip with my family and we all couldn’t get enough! Jim Scott (there are lots of Jims) was the best guide we could ask for as he was entertaining and engaging the whole trip. Would highly recommend booking this!

Castles and coos

Stephen was very knowledgeable and informative while being fun! It was a long day, and he made it enjoyable. The bus was comfortable and we had a pretty good group. He even made a special stop for us to see some Heilan Coos!

Disappointing tour

I had been looking forward to exploring the beautiful highlands of Scotland for a long time. When I finally got the chance to visit with my extended, I decided to book a tour for all 6 of us. I chose a tour that promised to show me the best of Scotand, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The tour was supposed to have a guide, but it was conducted by the driver instead which basically meant no guide. The driver spoke aimlessly at times and told us her own personal stories for lenghts of time. Her accent was so thick that it was difficult to understand her, and her random monologues made it impossible to follow the tour properly. To make matters worse, there was no engaging history shared about any of the locations, and the driver dropped us off at a few locations, told us the time to come back, and that was it. It was too long of a drive to arrive and then wander around without any guide. Overall, the tour was a total waste of money unless you can't rent a car and drive yourself. I was disappointed with the the absence of engaging stories, and making the experience worth the drive. I would highly recommend just renting your own car and doing your own research and save your self the money.

Peaceful and memorable

This is the best tour of all in Scotland. Peter is fantastic with his tales and music selections. He was very attentive and made sure everyone got to the bus on time and gave great selections for dining in Edinburgh. Gave lots of history and pointed out places of interest and their backgrounds. A+ tour. Thank you Peter for a memorable day.

Swain was great!

Great tour. Swain was a wonderful tour guide; he kept us laughing and learning along the way. A lot is packed into a tour like this, with only a few minutes to (max) 2 hours being spent at any stop. If you want to take a more leisurely pace and don't mind the excitement and aggregation of driving, that is the way to go. That said, we really enjoyed the Western Highlands, Lochs and Castles day tour, we got a taste of what the Highlands have to offer and a wonderful background of some of the history and contemporary views of the locals. We recommend it! Bring a little bit of cash as loos cost 20-50p. Enjoy!

Fantastic combination of nature and history

This tour was fantastic. We had a great time. Our tour guide was Dave. We took more short stops than expected (including Stirling Castle and several lochs). I had been a little nervous that we would just be in the bus the whole day but it wasn’t the case at all. Dave was a great story teller and answered all of our questions. It was wonderful to drive through Scotland and hear Dave tell us interesting facts about Scotland’s culture, farming methods, biodiversity, folklore, and a lot of history. It was a great day, I highly recommend you book this tour if you want a great combination of nature and castles.

Great way to see the western highlands!

We booked the West Highlands tour with Rabbie’s as a wedding present for our honeymoon and we both agree it’s been the highlight of our trip so far!! Our tour guide was Swain, who was very knowledgable and also very funny, kept us highly entertained the whole day! He knew the route so well and was quick to point out sights to see (as well as highland cows!!) We loved the stops at Rest and Be Thankful, as well as Inverary!! We would book with Rabbie’s again, especially one of their multi day tours!

The perfect day from Edinburgh

I couldn’t recommend this tour more, especially to anyone with a limited amount of time in Scotland. You get to see a bit of everything, and Nik our driver guide was an absolute joy. He was full of enthusiasm, gave lots of interesting history, and introduced everyone to beautiful Scottish music.

Wonderful trip to the Highlands

Wonderful tour to the Highlands, Lochs and Castles. Our tour guide was Kenny and he was great. There were many stops and time to take photos, get snacks and use the facilities if needed. We did the tour in late March and had cool, windy weather with rain and mist much of the time. Kenny did an amazing job talking about the sights we were seeing and talking to us about Scottish history. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Worth the trip

Unfortunately we had a rainy days during this trip. Fortunately, we had a great guide (his name escapes me). who took us to the scenic spots along the way to the beautiful Highlands. If it was a nice day it would have been exceptional, on a rainy days it's merely great.

Lakes and Castles

Amazing trip. Grant was our guide. Great driver, solid tour guide with a big heart. The views were amazing. Grant went out of his way to let the group get pictures of the Kelpies and of a hairy coo. Trip was fantastic. Highly recommend.

The perfect day trip

It was nice to make frequent stops and see as much as possible. Very cold in January so dress appropriately!

Best day trip I’ve ever done.

Wallace #1 tour guide

Wallace our driver was a gem! He made the trip from the jokes to the playlist and his hand stitched Rusty! The highlands are beautiful snow, rain or shine. I would recommend to anyone looking to visit the western Highlands.

Great experience

Charlene was a great guide and we had an amazing time on the tour, taking in breathtaking views and we even managed to make an extra stop (owing to extra effort from our guide) to see some highland cows. Overall, really great experience.

Excellent tour

Duncan was a great tour guide. He was super knowledgeable, funny, and kept it interesting. The sites were very cool and all the history was explained super well!

The Perfect Highlands Tour

An absolutely wonderful tour. The sights are amazing, and our guide provided plenty of insight and laughs along the way. The tour gives plenty of time for bathroom breaks, getting food, and wandering. The bus itself was quite comfortable and surprisingly clean. Overall, the tour is well-paced and extremely enjoyable. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Good trip but 2 out of 3 castes were closed

The tour guide/driver was very good. Though 2 out of 3 castles were closed, he compensated by driving to other areas for us to take photos. But I feel that the tour operator shouldn’t sell this tour since the main points were the castles, but I’m not complaining on the operator though. The check in and the tour bus was good.

Great Day

We traveled with Russel. He was great and the day was as smooth as silk. I can't fully explain how nice this was. Not rushed, good info without overdoing it. Plenty of stretch your legs / restroom stops. We hit a little rain but it did not affect our fun. Getting to walk around in a castle at your own pace was just amazing.

Excellent tour to the West Highlands

We had a great tour from Edinburgh to the West Highlands, Doune Castle and Invereray (and several other interesting stops). Graham was a brilliant guide, with all his historical knowledge, enthusiasm, and great stories bringing together the past and the present. We never felt rushed, and it was all well organised. A fantastic day!

Perfect day in nature

Graeme was such a great guide! He gave us lots of great stories without just endlessly talking, we were welcomed to ask questions but could also just stay quiet and enjoy the wonderful views. We saw ancient castles, both in ruin and still in use to this day, had plenty of time for lunch in the great town of Inverary, and stopped at some spots just to appreciate the tremendous beauty of Scotland's highlands. Finally, since we made good time on our trip, Graeme stopped at a small store outside of town to see a small family of highland cows, if you get there at the right time, the store even sells food that you can feed to them, absolutely adorable!

Castles, beautiful lakes, views and a wonderful guide

This tour is for someone who loves Scottish castles and the beautiful Highlands. The tour is very varied and I never got bored because there are so many beautiful things to see. The one and only, Jim Scott made this tour even better. I was very happy to have this great, funny and experienced guide once again. As with my first tour to Loch Ness in March, he told a lot of interesting things about Scotland and Edinburgh. Thank you Rabbie's for having such great employees, like Jim, who love what they do. Last but not least thank you very much Jim for the great tour!

Fantastic trip!

Fantastic introduction to Scotland made even better by the wit and wisdom of Jim Scott! Although the rain was unrelenting there was still much fun to be had! Oh and the music was totally apropos Thanks for a wonderful day!

Good guide, good, tour.

It started slow. Drive by spots and locks, but our tour guide Simon ,kept us ingaged with stories, and interesting facts. It ended with castle Dun aka Lallybrock. This made me happy. Over all good trip.

A great way to see the countryside without renting a car

I really enjoyed this day tour from Edinburgh! It was 10 hours and we had multiple stops along the way. Sinclair was concious of bathroom break and photo opportunities, which provided the small group the ability to choose our own adventure while still adhereing to the stops on the tour. The small group was about 16 people on a sprinter van - much more confortable than a large tourist bus. In addition, you can bring a USB cord to charge your phone. My only wish would be to spend more time in Inveraray. We didn't have much time to eat lunch, shop and explore. You really had to decide what you wanted to do with the ~1.5 hours you have there.

Book it now! Fantastic experience— our guide, Mac, filled the day with history, lore, and music. All were captivated and appreciated his knowledge and pride for his home. Stops were all interesting and some bucolic. Great day and will absolutely enhance your Scotland trip

Excellent Taubar excellent guide

This tour was so fantastic. I almost went to another one that was over twice as much, but the guide ended up canceling and how fortuitous! Lizzie is the one! She is the greatest tour guide, DJ, historian, comedian, and DRIVER. , I highly recommend Rabbies. and Lizzie WAS A DELIGHT as a tour guide. ❤️

My tour guide, Russell, was exceptional and I’d highly recommend him for anyone booking in the future. Russell was interesting, timed his stories well, gave solid recommendations, and was a great driver. I enjoyed my tour and would book one from the same company again.

Great places, poor tour

The tour went through some wonderful scenery and beautiful places. My complaint is only related to the driver. He seemed very keen on returning the Edinburgh before the scheduled time, no matter what. He also didn’t seem knowledgeable about the route and not even the opening days of the castles. He told as as soon as we boarded that Inveraray Castle is closed (although this was not the case as I specifically booked the tour on a day when it was open). When getting really close to Loch Lomond, due to a road closure we had to make a detour. However, the driver missed the road signs and got into the suburbs of Glasgow unnecessarily, which he obviously didn’t know. Only when he realised he had no idea where to go he decided to get the GPS out of the bag and use it. While I normally wouldn’t mind about this, we wasted valuable time, and by the time we got to Inveraray he insisted to cannot stay for more than one hour to visit the castle and gardens and eat because we wouldn’t be able to see everything before closing time. This was of course not true, as we got back 40 minutes before the scheduled arrival time in Edinburgh!

Steven was our tour guide and he did a great job. The sights were spectacular.I highly recommend this tour with Stephen. This is THE tour to do! Don’t hesitate. Seriously a great day out for us.

Great tour with William and Esther

Great tour with William (guide) and Esther (driver). William is a very funny guy, extremely friendly and genuine. The highlight was the visit to Doune Castle, where much of Monty Python and the Holy Grail was filmed. (Audioguide voiced by Terry Jones was excellent.)
