A great experience, would highly recommend if you're coming to Edinburgh. There's so much you just don't get to see or learn about on your own. Our tour guide was brilliant, very informative, funny and answered all of our questions.

A unique experience

A different experience. History mixed with thatrics. It's an amazing one nonetheless. Our guide - Soldier Joch - is very talented, knowledgeable, and professional. Never a dull moment.

Underground ghost tour in Edinburgh

Lafayette was engaging, humorous and educational. His stories kept us entertained for the entire tour. I would highly recommend and would be spookier in the dark

Soldier Jock was very animated and fun to go on tour with! The way he told the ghost stories was captivating and would definitely go on a tour with him again.

Underground vaults tour with Dr Knox

My wife and myself went on the edinburgh underground vault tour, our guide Dr Knox was exceptional, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fun & Entertaining Alternative Tour

A fun, entertaining and informative alternative to more “traditional” city tours. A 75-minute walk led by a resurrected ghoul highlighted Edinburgh’s dark past. Our guide “Mr. Beane” (don’t call him that) was amusing and knowledgeable. Maybe not suitable for very young kids.

Fun tour!

Maggie Dixon was great! The tour was very fun, interesting, and included many cool historical facts. Recommend for those who love ghost tours.

Do It!

Great tour! Our guide was amazing as the creepy and sadistic Dr. Knox. The group was small enough that the tour felt personal, and we were all able to engage with the guide.

This was the highlight of our trip! You must ask for Dr.Knox to be your guide! Learned so much and had FUN! Wish I had time to do it again. Totally worth it.

Fun Ghost Tour

Super fun and quick tour of the underground. Maggie Dixon was hilarious and a fantastic tour guide. Only flaw is I wish it was longer.

This is a fun, somewhat light-hearted tour (as much as can be considering the history) and well worth it! Alexander Sawney Beane was a great guide; funny, engaging, and informative!

Great Ghost tour with the Great Lafayette

The most memorable parts of the experience would have been learning about the burning children and the cemetery.

Great tour, John was great

Very fun tour, John had a great patter and kept us absorbed the whole time. I thought the graveyard part of the tour to be really interesting, but he got us with some scares in the vaults underground and that was a lot of fun. I wish we'd done it after dark for more atmosphere.

The Great Layfayette and the amazing tour

The Great Layfayette made the tour! Our guide was amazing. He made the entire experience fun, entertaining, and interactive. We went as a family and all had a fantastic time. We would recommend this tour to all.

Entertaining

This was entertaining. Less underground than thought when signed up but that was good. Our guide was very engaging.

Great fun

Great fun. Excellent guide. Dr Knox. Will recommend for the history and the guide made it a memorable experience with great locations and spooky underground tour.

Not so great tour

Wasn’t a whole lot to see underground and didn’t last long. In hindsight should have done only a catacombs type tour. Not much in graveyard either. Guide did her best and was interesting but not a great tour.

Pretty good

Toured with Maggie Diggson, she did well at showing some interesting spots and told a few spooky stories, some historical and some tall tales. For.the price, a solid experience.

Dr Knox

Dr Knox was a fun character, made it all a very interesting experience. Lots of laughs and informative information. Edinburgh has so much history that I didn't know about. Would highly recommend doing this tour with Dr Knox.

A quirky tour through Edinburgh’s nefarious past

A highly entertaining, zany and eccentric host, Soldier Jock took us on an educational tour of the underbelly of Edinburgh. It was the right kind of levity for a deeply disturbing history, from medical marketplace mayhem to the body snatchers, the killing time and the ghosts surrounding tombs such as that of Bloody Mackenzie.

Nonexistent

I could not do the ghost tour due to an asthma attack and I was refused a refund. Not happy about your lack of compassion for an ailment I do not have control over. Cathryn Daly

The most eery walk

The history in Skotland is unfathomable but so tangible. This tour and our guide was so much fun and my 9 year old daughter and me had so much fun.

Edinburgh ghost walk

We did the evening ghost walk which was well worth the money. The guide Lafayette was both funny and informative. The tour takes you down into part of the underground city which was only discovered in 1983 and is not open to the general public. The tour finishes in Grayfriers cemetery really worth doing this tour

Wonderful experience

Our tour guide Mary Queen of Scots was very engaging and interesting, she stayed in character and encouraged the group to interact with the history. The vaults were scary and interesting to learn about. Although it was very warm so if you are claustrophobic I would recommend taking the small space and warm atmosphere into consideration. Overall wonderful experience and I would highly recommend!

Fun family experience

Our tour guide, Mary Queen of Scots, was entertaining and shared macabre stories of Scotland’s history. My husband, teenage daughter and I enjoyed the experience.

Informative and interesting not sure about scary

A great tour. I did the 6:45 in summer so light and also family friendly. My tour guide was Queen Mary. She was funny and informative. She tried to scare us but with the like out not sure if anyone was feeling the mood. Great tour-it is a walking tour with a few steps.

Dramatic, Involved, and Informative

Soldier Jock was as passionate as he was informative. Of course it’s easy to take in the information when it’s interesting, but when the history is practically being performed for you then it essentially seeps into your pores.

First class tour guide

Done this last month with my Husband, was great from start to finish but it was our tour guide Merry Andrew’s that made the experience so good, she is an absolute legend, really gets into character and knows her stuff! Highly recommend
