We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Louis was a wonderful tour guide, full of knowledge along the tour and she had great energy and humor that made it very enjoyable. We felt the day was ample time to see the castles.

Great views and great tour guides

I actually went on two tours in two days! We went to The Kelpies, Loch Lomond and Sterling Castle with Connor, and then we went to Alnwick Castle (Castles and Broomsticks tour) with Louise. Both guides were amazing! They had lots of great stories and history, great recommendations for anything you can imagine. I would highly recommend going on any tour with this group that you can!

Wonderful experience.

Such a wonderful time with Louise! She was an absolutely lovely guide and had a wealth of knowledge!!!!! Was such a fun time and would 100% use this company and go on any tour with Louise again.

Great tour of Scotland but not a Harry Potter tour

The guides were wonderful, bus was clean however I would hardly call this a Harry Potter tour. It was definitely just a Scottish day trip which was great but the name was misleading. Still recommend but would forewarn folks to know it’s not a Harry Potter tour.

Good for Harry Potter fans

A great trip out to Alnwick Castle seeing Banburgh Castle on the way. We didn’t realise when we booked that entrance into the castle was not included and ended up paying another £19.50 each. We think the trip price should be adjusted to include this as there is no way you are going to go all that way just to walk around the town for 3 hours. The castle itself was very interesting and we listened to a good story from one of the staff at the castle about Harry Hotspur, which was very well done. It’s a long day trip but worth the effort.

Laurie was a great driver and guide! Trip was relaxing and enjoyable. We even had time to visit the city Centre.

Great experience with a really informative guide.

We had great fun and found plenty of good photo opportunities at each place. Alnwick Castle has it all and would suit anyone's needs. While there with my partner, we played mini golf, practiced archery, brushed up on our history, learned the pros and cons of chainmail armor, and took some great pictures to look back on. We would highly recommend it to everyone. Our tour guide, Heidi, was excellent and even helped some of us plan the other days of our trip with her recommendations for other Edinburgh activities. I would also like to mention that I had initially booked another tour earlier in my trip; however, my partner became ill, and we couldn't attend it. Although I was already past the window for refunds, the Highland Explorer Tours team (specifically EJ) worked with me to find another available tour that fit our Harry Potter interests. Overall my feedback would be that the tour was great, and the people are even better.

Great time at Alnwick castle!

Easy to book, Heidi was a great guide and we felt there was enough time at each stop! Would recommend to all friends & family!

Not too bad

Alnwick Castle was mostly for children, but had fun interesting things for adults and kids at heart. Bamburgh Castle was also a good visit during this tour. The last stop at Coldstream was the worst because they had 1 very small gift shop and offered minimal snacks. There were 2 shops that offered local art you could purchase, but no keychains, shot glasses, or other traditional souvenir gifts. The tour guide was nice, informational, and helpful!

Bamburgh Alnwick castle

Day trips with Paul and Emily to bamburgh castle and Alnwick castle. Great guiding with Paul and Emily full of history and storytelling about the area. Very pontual, well organized and Safe driving from Paul and very interesting information from Emily. Thank you guys and I would definitely recommend the tour

A fantastic tour and Dusty was a great tour guide! Even though it was a rainy day, the castle was stunning and learning more about Scotland’a history during the drive made it a great day.

This was the most waited day tour on our trip which filled our expectations. Beautiful countryside views and the wonderful castle were unforgettable.

Really nice experience with Noah. Cumfortable bus and little group, it was a great experience. We had time enough to visit the castle and the lillte town near the castle.

My trip to Alnwick castle

The castle was easily the most beautiful i,ve seen this far from the in-and outside. And the people that told us about the history and showed some items brought the history of the castle back alive. The views were unbeleavable amazing and Noah was funny and kind.

Wonderful tour! Times for stops were great and the audio tour was very interesting. Our Tourguide, Noah, was really humorous and did a great job 👏 The castle was amazing, but I would have wished for a clearer communication online that the entrance was not included

We had a great day! Especially the stop in Alnwick, where we had enough time to visit both the castle and the village, was amazing. Our tour guide Noah shared some interesting stories and made sure we were safe and sound.

Highly recommend

We had an amazing time on this tour, the places were beautiful and the bus comfy. But the best part was actually our tour guide and driver Dusty whose historical bits and sense of humor made this tour unforgettable. So even the ride to these places was fun.

Great day with Dusty in England visiting Bamburgh and Alnwick castles. Dusty is very knowledgeable and presented history with humour.

The tour was pretty cool. Bamburgh and its castle on the beach were beautiful to watch and a good first stop. Of course Alnwick castle was amazing. Unfortunateley the ticket prices for the castle are not included in the tour price and it costs about 20£/person so you have to be aware about that (we were not but we just had to read properly😅). The tourguide Tim was really awesome, he talked about the history of Scotland and Edinburgh, the plants and wildlife and sights we drove by and you could really tell he knows what hes talking about and that he did it with passion. It was a pleasure driving with you, thank you.

Perfect day trip with amazing weather as added value

This is a perfect day trip exploring places we’ve never seen. Bamburgh castle is just stunning with the beach views and all. Alnwick castle is an ultimate experience for Harry Potter fans and Alnwick village is also really cute. Definetely worth every penny. We were also really lucky with beautiful sunshine for the entire day. Viator’s guide Alistair was really funny and told us soooo many interesting facts during the whole day. I rate this 12/10 🤩

Awesome tour

Your guide was super nice and fun and made the rides on the bus so much nicer. He had a lot of useful information and knew Scotland inside out. I loved his accent. The views were incredible. Overall super nice trip. Guides name was Alistar im pretty sure

Harry Potter

Too long of a bus ride but a good tour and Ali the guide was spectacular to go with. I was hoping for MORE Harry Potter stuff with the tour.

Fun but educational

Michael and Lucky were great guide and driver. They did their best to assure that we saw everything and gave great recommendations. I would use them again.

Fun one-day trip with fantasic guide.

Dusty is a seasoned storyteller who regaled us with tales of Scottish kings, queens, Highlanders and Lowlanders, throughout the day--and gave great local recommendations also! I think Dusty would be great to have on a multi-day trip because he clearly has a lot of information to share and a good sense of humor to boot! I keep coming back to Haggis Adventures bc I think their guides make the tours extra special.

I did not expect to get this many (history) information in the bus that I would also come to enjoy, but I did and it made the whole experience even better

If you can’t find a better itinerary, then settle for this one.

Our driver was Dusty and he was awesome ! Funny jokes, he has clearly researched a lot about the history and is in touch with recent developments in the area - like renewable engineering. He is great at storytelling along the way while driving! He also accommodated the itinerary for a few of us who wanted to see inside Bamburgh castle. Dusty gets 5/5! My lower rating is because there were three different addresses posted on the viator site of where to be picked up. And the morning of the address was different with a complete address number because I screenshot everything before I left my country. This was confusing and made the morning stressful. Communication with the tour operator isn’t what I have experienced with other viator operators. They didn’t answer my questions on time and provided short and unclear responses. Further the itinerary isn’t the best. It’s not well explained on their page which castle entrance tickets are included and not, and which ones you get to see inside. They do not budget enough time to see inside Bamburgh Castle and there is far too much time budgeted for Alnwick castle. They should add 45 min to the Bamburgh castle and remove the same amount of time from Alnwick. Several of us on this bus were done seeing Alnwick and just waiting for the bus to pick us up.

Great storytelling and music

Went on a oneday trip with my family. Long drive, but didn't feel very long since the driver told a lot of stories about Scotland and played some good music too. Our guide was Alistair :)

Adventures

Alister was an amazing guide. Everyone on the bus was very dull but he kept it very entertaining, educational, comical, charming, and welcoming. Definitely will recommend him/this tour to others and will be coming back in 2024 for more.

Relaxing Trip to Alnwick!

Ali’s commentary (meaning Alistair, sorry Alison!) absolutely made the trip. Good sense of humor. The stories were engaging and the relaxed pace was ideal.

Informative, fun, and relaxing

We enjoyed our trip as a family! Our guide, Dusty, was informative, knowledgeable and fun! He made the experience great and had a perfect balance of giving information and also giving us time to just talk amongst ourselves. I liked learning about the history of Scotland especially about John Muir and his contribution to the National Parks. The castles were great and we couldn’t have asked for a better first time bus tour. Thank you!

Relaxing and lovely!

This trip was beautiful! One of the most enjoyable parts of the tour was being led by Dusty! I did not realize we would learn so much about Scotland history as well as current events like their stance in renewable energy. Thank you for a lovely day!

Great tour to Alnwick castle

Bamborough and Alnwick Castle were good attractions. I was hoping for the price we had to pay, at least some tour/information about the Alnwick castle would be provided. But overall, a really nice tour!

Great day in England (even though we are visiting Scotland)

We had a great day with Cara visiting Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick. We had extra stops for caffeine and bathroom breaks and PLENTY of time to check out the Castle areas. Our vacation is in Scotland but didn't mind the quick visit in England

Highlands trip with John as your guide!

John was an amazing tour guide and share wonderful facts, stories, and music along the way. Not only did he ensure we got lots of breaks to stretch and take pics of the beautiful countryside, he even bought us carrots to feed the adorable highland cattle. Would do any trip John hosts again
