Great day spent in the highlands.

Natalie was a great tour guide with lots of information and stories of old Scotland. Also had a great sense of humor and used it to engage the group.

Amazing

We had our tour on June 14, 2023, and we did enjoy the tour, especially Glennfinan, unfortunately, we did not manage to see the famous train but the place and view were amazing. Max who is our tour guide is very entertaining he always makes sure no information is left behind, he is very informative. Our driver ( I did not get his name) was vvery sweet, he saw us taking selfies on the bus he did not hesitate to come and take pictures for us. They were very forgiving us well they made sure no one would be left behind even though people comes back late😅

The best tour guide!

The tour guide Max (works with Timberbush) was amazzzing! He kept us entertained with interesting folklore as well as historical facts with such good storytelling skills. Loved the entire tour!

Wonderful Highlands Experience

We had a wonderful experience with our guides on the Glenfinnan Viaduct tour. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable about all the history of the Scottish past. They stopped at all the most beautiful areas in the Highlands.

Spectacular Views

The scenery on the tour was beautiful. The crew on the tour was very nice and friendly. I was the only solo traveler on the tour but it was not a problem. I wish we could’ve stayed at Glenfinnan for 90 minutes instead of 60. Overall, great experience and would do it again

Great 1st visit to Scotland

Our first time in Scotland, everything was great. Edinburgh was lovely, lots of people but wasn’t crazy like other places/cities we’ve been. The tour was amazing, enjoyed the scenery and environment. Scott the bus driver was fantastic, we enjoyed his stories and commentary. Will definitely come back and visit other places of Scotland

Excellent, and highly recommended.

Loved the Highlands. There were enough stops to stretch your legs, use any necessary facilities, get a snack, etc. The scenery was spectacular, and as a Potter fan it was great to see some of the movie locations. The stops were all worthy and interesting. I noticed we passed by a couple of whisky distilleries - it would have been nice if a stop could have been arranged at one of them.

Great tour and amazing guide!

Great tour, the places are amazing! Mark has been a very nice guy. He has explained many historical facts in an interesting way. Always kind and friendly. Super recommend it.

Two in one

Take your time, you can see the viaduct from several angles and the Harry Potter one is further inn towards the viaduct. My photos are from closer to the road. As always, pack light, bring your trusty water bottle, and dress in Layers and a powerbank I'd a must if you tend to use up the battery :)

Worth it!

David is a lovely human being! Great tour host with a great and vast knowledge of Scotland. You can tell he genuinely cares for the experience of the passengers as he takes you on the journey. Fun, beautiful sights, and excellent timing of breaks. Also, shoutout to Adam and his serious driving skills. Would definitely recommend!

Such an amazing tour!!!! So much fun and you get to see so much even though you spend most of the day on the bus. Our tour guide Steve/Stevie talked a lot about scottish history which made the bus ride entertaining! He was also really funny and dropped so many dad jokes, but the one joke that didn’t land right was the joke about drinking whisky before driving because my girlfriend and I were thinking some people might not realize it. But otherwise he was hilarious and did a fab job for driving and being the guide at the same time!!!! The other one constructive comment I have is giving more time at the viaduct and loc from harry potter — i’d rather lose 1 stop and have time to explore both than have more stops and less time to see the main attraction. I did this tour twice and I didn’t get a chance to see the loc at glenfinnan because I just had no time and I barely had time to properly walk around the bridge as well. Like maybe we stop for 5 mins at the bathroom on the way back then the 40ish mins to get whisky ice cream and putz around. But for the price and value i’d say this was worth it and I had a great time both times I did it!!!!

Stevie B was an excellent guide. The Highlands are spectacular and this tour takes you to the 3 sisters on the way up to Glennfinnin which makes for great photos. The time at the Viaduct was also wonderful…walking close to the bridge was terrific.

It was perfect. Glencoe was amazing and Glenfinnan Bridge was beautiful. Our guide Robert and driver jimmy were super, at our service any time. Various stops along the way and enough time to spend at each of them. But always maintaining the schedule, which was good. By the way: we had put on our good clothing😉

Best guide= best trip

This tour was the best tour of our trip to UK. We got David as our guide, who is very friendly, knowledgeable and fun guy. David has keen knowledge of Scottish history, culture and heritage. Adam as our bus driver, shows awesome driving skills, safe and experienced driver with very detailed knowledge of local routes, changing road conditions and pasanger & public safety measures. I will surely recommend having a tour with Timberbash Tours Edinburgh. Don't forget to ask for David as your guide.

Excellent tour.

One of the best tours available in Edinburgh. The guide was very nice and polite. He was literally taking care of each and every person on board. He was knowledgeable and never made us feel bored. Will definitely take it next time.

Very enjoyable tour

Very well guided tour. Many and various stops to enjoy local offerings. Must to make clearer that the hike to viaduct may be demanding for some people.

If you're a Harry Potter fan do a Harry Potter tour...but if you love Scotland...

Okay, here's the thing. I've read a very negative review of this tour & it was the same one my partner & I were on. If you haven't read it then my review will be meaningless to you. In a nutshell: there was a revolt on our tour as some people expected to see the Jacobite Train (ie; the Hogwarts Express) at Glenfinnan. We did, too. But a few people chose to stay behind & make their own way back. Now...the tour itself was fun; incredibly beautiful scenery, nice stops, & regardless of the scathing review of Kenny (our guide) my partner & I were fine with him, & found him to be incredibly knowledgeable about everything we saw. We didn't find his humour 'crass' in the slightest, so maybe that's a cultural &/or generational 'lost in translation' situation. The views along the way were incredible, we loved Glencoe (although I would have loved to stop in the wee town there), & whilst it was a long day & a lot of time in the bus that was to be expected....read the itinerary of the tour. BUT... if you expect to see the famous train cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct you'll be disappointed. In fact, if you expect to see the classic view of the curved viaduct that's not where the viewing areas are so you'll also be disappointed (as was I, but that's just where the tourist park is, unfortunately). The negative review stated that the train was due in 15 minutes, but according to the online schedule it was closer to 30 minutes away, if it was on time. And yes, whilst most of the bus no doubt agreed with those who refused to reboard the bus unless they saw the train, those four who ended up remaining behind didn't think about anyone on the bus who had to be back in Edinburgh at the stated time as they may have had other plans....as my partner & I did. I would LOVE to have seen the train, my partner & I are massive Harry Potter fans. We've been to the Warner Bros Harry Potter studio outside London, we've done a Harry Potter walking tour of London, & on this same recent holiday went to the tiny village of Lacock to see several HP filming sites, so we understand the revolt & if I were 30 years younger I probably would have done the exact same thing. But the fact that 99 percent of the occupants remained on the bus spoke more to the fact that whilst most everyone may have wanted to see the train maybe more of us needed - or just wanted - to be back in Edinburgh by 8pm after a long day to catch up with friends for a pint. I doubt those who revolted cared for any of that. Anyway.... we loved the tour, just don't expect to see the train. The rest of the scenery & stops were great.

Fun trip

We had a great time on our tour. David was a wonderful tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour to our friends.

Great Way to Research and Book a Tour

We used Viator to book several tours on our first trip to Scotland and London. The Viator website made it easy to compare and research what was in included in the tour packages. It was very useful to have everything laid out in front of you. I would recommend them to others and using them again in the future.

Fantastic

The trip was amazing even then we booked the wrong trip (wanted it with Loch Ness). Robert was a fantastic guide and gave important information. Jimmy was a great driver. Thanks a lot we will join a next trip

Wonderful trip!

Robert was an amazing tour guide who did a wonderful job with a very low-energy tour group! (I think everyone on the bus was sleeping at some point). If you're looking for a fun, beautiful tour of the highlands, and a great tour guide to boot, this highland tour with Robert was a great way to go!

Good tour

It was pretty good, the driver/guide was very good. But too bad Natalie has to perform 2 roles by herself. It would be much better if there were a driver and a guide, then we can ask questions about the area.

Absolutely a must

Robert was such an amazing guide, he helped on every step of the way, eddie was an incredible driver. The tour is magical and a must for anyone visiting Edinburgh!

Interesting trip

An expensive taxi trip (GBP107) from Fort William on a busless Sunday. The viaduct is far from impressive. But overall an attractive site with a crystal clear stream running through it. The Bonnie Prince Charles memorial is well maintained -'though the guy himself seems hardly to have been a hero of Scottish independence - his armed revolt aimed rather at becoming King of the future United Kingdom. After his brutal defeat at Culloden he simply wandered off back to France and Italy, dying there at the age of 67. From the road there are good views of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis (1,345 metres) - not impressive and looking more like a potato than a mountain!

Disappointing

The Train ride over viaducts is closed from January 2024. We were given impression that the the tour is going to operate as per given description. A day prior to this tour we received email from Viator stating the train ride is not going to happen due to Train company issued with Government. Had we known during booking that the train ride was not going to happen, we would have chosen some other tour option. This is a hoax from tour companies not informing the train situation in advance, and misguiding the tourists. The train is going to be closed for at least 4 more months...as informed by our guide.

Great trip!

We had a wonderful time exploring the Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe, Fort William and so much more. Oue guide was Lorna and she was phenomenal. We did so many extra things not mentioned in the description and they were all wonderful. The tour was timely, thorough, and contained very interesting information. I would recommend this trip to anyone. Definitely a highlight of my trip to Scotland.

Recommended !!

Its long tour in a bus, not many stops what I would do if I go with my car. But I was not by a car, so this was great option! Long tour, but the driver was great, it doesnt look like that long ride! Because He told us So much interesting things ♥️

Natalie made the trip

The tour guide Natalie was amazing. Learned a bunch of history while also making me laugh a bunch. The best guide I have had, hands down. Thank you Natalie! 😊 The coo's visited were superior to the ones I saw on the loch ness tour the day before.

Glenfinnan is stunning, rest of the tour decent

Overall this day tour was decent and enjoyable, and our driver/guides were knowledgeable enough and friendly. It's a long day and the pickup/dropoff location was easy to find and convenient, being close to Edinburgh Castle. Something to note is that when we booked on the website it said the tour would be a 16-32 people tour, but we ended up being on a large coach bus with ~60 people, although the coach was fairly comfortable. We picked this tour primarily because it's the only day tour option from Edinburgh that went to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, and this stop was definitely the highlight. Recommend walking to the viaduct because it's very cool looking up-close. The stop with the highland coos (cows) was probably my second favourite. I was personally really looking forward to the Glencoe stop, having been there last year on a Rabbie's tour, however the Glencoe stop on this tour was very short and a bit of a letdown. The driver/guide also did not point out interesting locations such as when we passed by a shooting location for the James Bond Skyfall film. The worst part of the itinerary was the 1 hour lunch stop at Fort William. We were dropped off in a random parking lot, and it took a brisk 20 min walk just to get to a McDonalds, and would've taken longer to get to the main street with proper food options, leaving basically no time to get anything that's not fast food. This felt like a big waste of time and they could've arranged a spot closer to the town center for drop-off/pick-up that allowed for more time to explore the town. Itinerary: Drummond Smiddy Farm Shop - 30min Glencoe Three Sisters - 10min Fort William - 1hr Neptune’s Staircase - 5min Glenfinnan Viaduct - 60min Coos - 10min Pitlochry - 30min

I feel that this tour was a waste of my time and money

Dear TravelThru, I recently went on this tours and unfortunately, I had a very bad experience. The crew on the bus were not properly trained, and I was met with behaviour that was unprofessional and unacceptable. Despite the difficult nature the work, I was left with a bad impression due to the poor service. The behavior exhibited by the tour guide and bus driver was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. During the tour, one situation occurred that ruined the entire experience. We stopped at a restroom and were told to return to the buss at 8:45. However, due to the long line and crowding, my friend returned at 8:52. The guide and bus driver used the microphone to publicly shame my friend, stating that she was ruining things for everyone and that she should apologise to everyone. And they ask me to go and bring her to the buss. This caused her to feel humiliated and upset, and about to cry because of 7 min in bathroom line. To add to the situation, I was not provided with enough information before I boarded the bus. I would have appreciated being informed about the weather and train schedule before the journey so that I could make an informed decision about whether or not to continue with the tour. Unfortunately, I was not able to see the train which was the main reason for my trip, and that made the situation even worse. I understand that unexpected situations can occur, but I believe that proper planning and preparation could have prevented this situation. I hope that you take my feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to ensure a better experience for your guests in the future. Please don’t judge based on my own experience. Great Day Trip from Edinburgh

Our tour was through Timberbushtours and was an exceptional day. Our guide/driver, Lorna, made the 12 hour tour seem much shorter with well planned stops not on the itinerary. We’d gladly spend another day touring with her. This trip went essentially from coast to coast up into the Scottish Highlands. Lost track of how many lochs and coos we saw during the day.

Timberbush Tours Glenfinnan

This tour was amazing! Karis did a wonderful job guiding and driving! Kudos to her. What a lass! The sights wete amazing, plenty of comfort stops and photo stops. Glencoe and Glenfinnan were absolutely stunning. You had plenty of time to roam around and explore the grounds. Definitely a recommendation!

Worth it even if the weather doesn't fully cooperate

Scott was an excellent driver and storyteller who made the miles fly by. I appreciated every chance to get out and explore a bit on our own, but it was also very helpful to learn so much Scottish history and culture along the way.

Very good trip , lots of interesting places and we were lucky with the weather too. Sadly the tour time didn’t coincide with the train crossing the glenfinnan viaduct but would definitely recommend

Safety is not their concern

While the scenery was gorgeous and the bus was comfortable, Kenny our tour guide had a bad attitude at the beginning of our trip, awful from the start. He was expressing sarcasm and attitude and being extremely rude. He didn’t provide good information during the tour, often with moments of no information at all. The jokes were crass. When we made it to Glennfinan the workers on the mountain said there would be the Harry Potter train passing through in the next 15 minutes. Our guide Kenny pretended to be on a call with management and said “I’m just going to wait here for a moment and tell them there is nothing I can do.” He came around to tell us what he had stated on the phone. I was listening intentionally so I could speak to his manager if needed. Kenny left 4 people in the group on the mountain and told them “If you stay, you need to figure it out.” I have never had someone not care for people on a tour and if there is ever a detour, guides have always been willing to accommodate what is necessary for the greater good of the entire group. Our guide Kenny was cold, rude, bitter, and didn’t provide good information on the tour, nor did he protect the people he was intended to serve for the day. The itinerary in the website was NOT correct. The majority of the bus was willing to wait to see the Harry Potter train. I am traveling alone or I would have stayed with the other four and been left. This is absolutely distasteful, disrespectful, and unprofessional and I will never be on a Timberbush tour again. It appears safety is not considered or valued with this company. I am hoping the people that stayed got back to Edinburgh alright. Update: spoke with Jodie from corporate and they offered a 50% discount and stood behind Kenny lying and being rude due to “other passengers” claiming that Kenny “did good.”

Amazing tour. You won’t be disappointed!

This trip was amazing, mainly because of our impressive bus driver and tour guide Caris. She was so professional and full of knowledge and fun. What a great storyteller!

Lovely tour

Karris our female bus driver was lovely and great at telling stories while hitting the road. Her song choices were great and she was a professional and reliable guide. We enjoyed the tour very much.

This tour is not for you

Excellent Trip. Recommended...

Went for a day trip from Edinburgh to Glenfinann Viaduct, Glencoe, fort William on 25th April 2024. It was excellent. Very well planned. Could see a lot of scenic places. Very well organized stops including all necessary breaks. Very knowledgeable guide. Will surely recommend and will take up further tours with Timberbush during our subsequent visits. Must visit for Harry potter fans.

Beautiful

Robert our guide needs to study his history. I understand saying "um aye" is part of the pattern of speech in Scotland. But so many times he jumped around so many times 1700s no 1800s. Liked him much but with study comes confidence and fewer stumbles and starts. This baby is 12 hours and you get a real taste of the Highlands.

Scenic and informative

Loved all the information the tour guide, Karris, gave us. The day started off without a cloud in the sky and that made for beautiful views.
