Giant's Causeway Day Tour from Dublin

A good tour

Richard O’Brien was a great drive and tour guide, very knowledgeable and a good sense of humor. I really enjoyed this tour and thought we had plenty of time at Giant’s Causeway.

The only thing they care about is the lunch :(

We started the tour with a visit to a castle. Unfortunately, the castle was closed and we could not enter. We then travelled to Giants Causeway, unfortunately the road had been hit with a rock slide so the only way to view the area was a 1.5 hour walk. But since PaddyWagon tour scheduled us to have lunch at some random pub we had only 1.5 hours at the Giants Causeway and another hour for lunch at a pub where I’m sure they got kick backs. We also were not refunded any money for the 7euro castle entry fee.

A fun and worthwhile day

The tour was great, Gerry with a G was an excellent guide, very passionate about Ireland and the Irish. We learned a lot about Northern Ireland. The Dunluce was a nice restored ruin, even the teens enjoyed it. The giants causeway was even better once we were down and standing on the stones.

Highly recommended and Eduardo made our trip even more special!

This one day trip was the best idea ever and the money well spent! Eduardo was a very good driver and an extremely entertaining tour guide. We highly recommend this experience to anyone else visiting Dublin or Ireland in general!

Giant's Causeway: A Must-See Destination!

The Giant's Causeway is an extraordinary place that shouldn't be missed. And at this time of year, it's pleasantly uncrowded, allowing you to fully appreciate its stunning landscape. The unique rock formations are truly remarkable and offer an unforgettable experience. We loved the sunny day trip to Giants Causeway. I bet you will like it too!

Great tour

Enjoyed seeing Northern Ireland. Left plenty of time to see the sites. A smooth tour all around. Would definitely recommend especially if you are short on time.

Giant's Causeway and Glendalough with Sean were perfect!

We did two tours (Giant's Causeway and Glendalough), both with the same driver Sean and both were absolutely lovely. Everything logistical from booking to the pickup was perfect. The tours were great and our driver Sean was fantastic. He gave lots of great information without it being too much. He was also very accomodating.

Brilliant day trip made even more enjoyable due to such a great guide, Michael, & driver Liam. Long and busy day but everything was perfectly timed with appropriate stops along the way. Would def recommend this trip to others.

A truly amazing day trip

The day trip was truly amazing. All the locations were breathtaking and I got to learn a lot about Ireland s history and folk culture. Our guide Michael and our driver Liam were truly the greatest company. I will a 100% go on another tour in the near future.

Amazing Visit to the Causeway!

Wonderful tour! It was a packed day without being too exhausting, and our guide Sean shared so many interesting tidbits about the locations we visited, as well as Irish history in general. Would absolutely do it again, and I’d love to check out some of their other tours

Fantastic Views, Wonderful Driver, Very Good Equipment

The Giant's Causeway is a rock formation that is known around the world for its location, legends, and geology. There are numerous folk stories related to the origins and uses of the hexagonal rock pillars that would take hours to read. Grab a good book of Irish folklore and enjoy. I would not recommend reading on the bus if Richard O'Brien is your driver, though. His local knowledge and storytelling style is incredible and you would not want to miss any of his personal anecdotes. He lived through a violent and deadly period of Ireland's history and shares his knowledge freely. However, he has a sense of humor that is amazing and made him very engaging to listen to. The bus itself was comfortable. The seats were clean and the temperature was nice, even with the soaking rain we encountered along the way. Paddywagon tours gives their drivers/tour guides the freedom to deviate from their schedules as needed. As a result, my group was able to spend a bit more time in the Dark Hedges and Dunluce Castle. I did not experience any negatives with Paddywagon tours, or Richard O'Brien and would certainly take other trips with them the next time I find myself in Ireland.

Great trip and value for money!

The whole experience was great for this trip! The price is fantastic for what you get, we had two hosts this trip, Daniel was on his first shift and we also had Quaig who was helping him out along the way.. They were both very interactive and knowledgeable about the Irish/Northern Irish culture! Everything was organised great and we all clearly knew what times to be back at the bus or where all the local facilities were. Our driver Sadjan got us to each destination quickly and safely, even though some of the roads were very precarious to say the least leading up to some of the pictures stops! Overall had a fantastic day and would recommend to everyone!

Spending the day traveling to Northern Ireland with Richard O'Brien

Traveling with Richard O'Brien was an incredible treat. By the time we got to the Causeway it was rainy and very windy, but that didn't spoil the day. Richard has so much experience and such a passion for discussing the history of Northern ireland that our 12-hour day just flew by. As Americans, we enjoyed hearing about his chauffeuring around the Seal Teams during President Clinton's visit. i would recommend any trip with Richard, but listening to him for 12 hours was quite amazing. Thank you.

Fantastic day trip!

Absolutely loved this day trip! Northern Ireland is stunning and Giant’s Causeway lived up to the hype. A nice surprise was doing the black cab tour in Belfast which was fascinating. Our tour guide Richard arranged that for us. Richard was awesome! Great energy and attitude as well as a wealth of knowledge on everything. Thank you for Richard for a great day!

Richard the Great

This trip was great! Our Driver Richard saved the day! We were booked with a different company for a tour. I got time confused and arrived late. The company we were booked with made no remedy for this. Richard was standing there and said come go with me. How great is that? We were booked for the Cliffs of Moher. We went instead to Belfast and the giant causeway. We were booked for this trip the next day with Paddywagon. Richard called the company and switched us to the Cliffs. If you happen to see Richard, you’ll love him. Funny, smart and a wonderful guide!

Fun filled day with amazing history and sites

The views were amazing! We learned a lot of the history of Belfast. Richard was an excellent tour guide. He kept us entertained the entire way.

We had an amazing time on our day-long tour with tour guide Michael and driver Liam. Michael went above and beyond to share his personal knowledge and experience about the tour stops and the history of Northern Ireland. Both made sure we had a smooth experience. I enjoyed the stop for lunch too, try the chicken goujons! They even went out of their way to recommend pubs and other experiences in Dublin. I would recommend the tour to anyone who is visiting and wants to see all the major sights easily and comfortably.

A Must Do!!

It was the most incredible day!! We had a WONDERFUL guide and we had the chance to see many wonderful things. Giant Causeway was incredible. Strongly advise to do the red trail and go around the peak to see all from above and then go down to the water. I wish we had a little longer there but I’m thrilled to have seen Belfast and to have experienced the leaning clock tower and the most bombed hotel in the world. All I can say is THANK YOU!!

Great trip and family friendly

Sean was a wonderful tour guide. We traveled with our 8 and 6 year old, there were plenty of bathroom breaks and time to eat as well as time to see what we wanted, letting the kids play and stretch. We were very happy.

Great scenery and great guide

The trip was amazing. We had the best tour guide Sean. He explained everything well and made the trip easy for all of us. He stopped to give us bathroom breaks and really cared about our needs. He’s a professional. I learned so much from Sean’s explanation. He’s a great tour guide!!

Giant Causeway day tour from Dublin

Timing spent at Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle was perfect. We loved the tour, however what elevated the tour from good to great was Sean. He was an amazing tour guide that has a rich knowledge of Ireland’s history and shared stories along the drive. I would highly recommend.

I finished the Giants Causeway with Sean, our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and authentic. He is very kind, and I thanked him for showing us around with such enthusiasm and for departing on time as he said. What a great day in Ireland for our first time visiting!

Love nature ❤️

I love the Giant's Causeway. The color of the water, the sound of the waves, the rocks... Love nature. The views you can see at the country side. I enjoy all the greenery and blues. Ireland is a beautiful place.

Had a absolutely great experience! The driver, Richard O’Brien, knew everything there was to know! Very well organized and a good lunsch in Bushmill. Rating 10/10. And the award for the toastmaster of the year goes to Richard O’Brian!

Great guide & lovely day

I loved this tour! Brian was knowledgeable, entertaining and an overall great guy. I learned a lot about the history of Ireland + Northern Ireland and would definitely recommend this for that reason alone. I’m not sure any of the destinations would be worth going to on their own, but in combination with each other it was a lovely day. You don’t get much time in Belfast but by the time you’re there you’re pretty tired and ready to go home, anyway, so I didn’t mind. Overall, I would recommend !

Great tour, fabulous driver!

Great tour to the Giants Causeway, with stops at Dunluce castle, Dark Hedges, lunch stop at a pub and a quick stop in Belfast We learned more from the bus driver, Brian, than we learned in our entire trip to Ireland. We felt very safe with him driving, even in the driving rain in the dark. He kept us entertained with commentary and information and was cheerful from start to finish. Thanks, Brian for making this tour special!

You couldn't have asked for a better driver/tour guide. Frank is an absolute treasure and has such a wonderful personality. Aside from his knowledge of the locations, his passion and expansive history for his country is so warm and enduring. I want to know more of this lovely country because of him! Giants Causeway Day Tour from Dublin.

The good: the sites were very impressive including the Giants Causeway, Hedge Rows, and the Dunluce Castle. The guide does a very good job filling the trip with history and insights. He did get audibly annoyed with anyone talking at the same time as him. The schedule was followed very well. The bad: the bus was overbooked and we ended up getting on at their second stop and stuck in the last row. I have a size 52 suit chest size and our friend is a 48. The seats are too small for large people and the seats dig into your back which was very uncomfortable being on a bus for a long time. I was sore for days after.

A great time

Our tour guide Richard was a fun time and very knowledgeable on his history. We learned so much about Ireland that we just aren’t taught back in the states. If you do anything in Ireland do the tour with Richard.

Awesome day trip

Packed day visiting Dunluce Castle, Giants Causeway, lunch, Dark Hedges, and Belfast. Our tour guide was great, telling us about the history of Ireland and Northern Ireland along the way.

Absolutely brilliant! The tour was fantastic from start to finish, Gerry was amazing, so knowledgeable, engaging and funny. Must do day trip from Dublin!

Lovely day trip from Dublin-you get to see the stunning Dunluce castle, giants causeway and dark hedges with enough time at each to enjoy the locations and then get a bonus hour in Belfast to soak in the city! Our guide and driver Richard was absolutely fabulous and kept us entertained with stories of the places and his wit! Bus is very comfy and everything is very well organized -the lunch stop is fab too and has a vegetarian option as well! Highly recommend!

A pleasant experience

We took the trip from Belfast city to Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, and Dark Hedges. Our tour guide Eduardo was brilliant, and very funny. Laughed a lot and learned a lot during this trip. The tour description did not indicate where we would get to have a meal, nor restrooms, however these were made clear during the trip. It is a bit of a minus that the bus did not have a toilet. Otherwise we were on time for everything and the trip went very smoothly. We had lunch after Giant's Causeway in a small town on our way, and the food there was delicious.

The best tour I’ve ever been on!

The tour was absolutely amazing, I would do it all again tomorrow! The tour guide Richard was hilarious and very well informed. We got such a great insight into the history of Northern Ireland, more knowledge than I’ve ever received from any other tour before. The locations are just something out of this world: the castle , the dark hedges, the giants castle, the black taxi tour… I can’t pick a favourite!! The amount of time we spent at every location was just perfect for me - I like a day where I get to see as many things as I can whilst not feeling rushed- and this tour does exactly that. We had the most amazing day and I would recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks again Richard for being such a great tour guide!

Good tour

The bus driver was on time and we made a few stops on the way which was good. The causeway was special and we enjoyed the Dunluce castle and the Game of Thrones area. It was good to have an hour in Belfast also. Many thanks for a good tour.

Worth every penny

Our driver and tour guide Richard O'Brien, made the day trip a fabulous experience and his humour and extensive knowledge gave us so much history and kept us entertained all day From the London travellers

Great tour!

We had a tour that was exactly as promised, and more. We enjoyed all stories about Ireland's history and folklore, that Michael, our guide, told us very much! The bus was right on schedule (some passengers were not, but it wasn't too bad) and Andrei, our driver, was obviously skilled. We had a great day.

Great trip but be mindful of the time to return to the bus

The Giant's Causeway and Belfast from Dublin was great despite the long (12.5 hour) day. The Dunluce Castle perched on a cliff had awesome views, only to be overwhelmed by the Giant's Causeway with more phenomenal views. At Giant's Causeway, I recommend paying the shuttle driver the 2 British pounds for a round trip ride to the bottom of the hill due to the interest of time. Otherwise, it's a long (>2 km) walk both downhill and uphill afterwards. Lunch was pre-ordered on the coach (pay on your own when you get there) and had large portions. In retrospect, ordering only one entree is sufficient. The Dark Hedges was a wasted stop (it's only a long walk between a row of trees). Paddywagon should scrap this stop to allow more time in Belfast. Belfast around the City Hall stop site seemed safe but our recommended, optional "Black Cab" side tour to "the Troubles" region was a bit sketchy albeit safe. Retrospectively, I wonder if it was safe to pay by credit card instead of cash. As our guide, Allen, said, "be early is being on time, being on time is late, being late will risk being left behind". We left 1 person behind at the Giant's Causeway despite a 10 minute grace period.

Totally recommend

The coast along Dunluce Castle/Giant’s Causeway was so beautiful I could have stayed there all day, but I wouldn’t have wanted to miss the Dark Hedges, although we were behind schedule by that time (thanks to people who seem to think they’re exempt from the schedule) so only had 20 minutes total there. And it takes 10 minutes each way unless you run. Dermott was a great guide and driver though.

A long but memorable day

Driver Eduardo was friendly and knowledgable. Dunluce Castle was great! Lunch was only thing that was meh. If doing it again, I would pack my own lunch.

Lots of driving but nice trip

Dermott was a great driver and host. It was a little annoying to have to travel to Belfast to wait for passengers to pick up and then deposit them back at end of (their) tour. They made out. Us tourists who started/ended in Dublin had a long day, 13 hrs! Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Dark Hedges, lunch restaurant, and scenery were all amazing!! Therefore awesome trip!!!
