Awesome desert safari experience!

Awesome desert safari- our guide, Akram, explained what was included and extra at each stop and made sure we had a great experience. Very nice vehicle and excellent performers at the camp/bbq!

A fun afternoon/evening

Pretty good overall. Funny how the other reviews all seem to be either 5* or 1* - people either loved it or hated it. I would say - a bit of a mix. Overall it was fun, but some parts were not as good as others. However, I would do it again - not really for myself but if there were others going. Pickup and organisation was a little hit & miss, but we got there. Quad-biking was brilliant. Only 20 minutes but that's enough really. Dune-bashing (4x4 driving like a maniac over the dunes) was brilliant. Again - only 20 minutes but that was enough. Other TA reviews complain about getting bashed about in the back of the vehicle. Well if you're a delicate little flower then steer clear of this. Yes you're going to get thrown about a lot. So what. That's what makes it fun. Camel riding was - I could pass on that really. So you sit on a camel and go up and down. It makes a good photo - that's about it. Sand boarding was - rubbish. Here's a snowboard and there's some sand - off you go! The board didn't slide on sand at that angle. Y'know - there's a reason why people do it on snow! Finally a meal and entertainments. Both of these were adequate - the meal was ok (veggie option is ok) but not exactly the best, and I'd say the same about the entertainments - fun enough and made a change. Definitely worth paying more for the sit-down waited-on service. However they were very quick to bring out the things that were charged extra (beers, shisha), and very slow to bring out the things that were included (soft drinks).. Overall - if you're in Dubai - yes do it - it's fun.

Absolutely awful and waste of money

we asked if the experience was with the sun and It wasn't. The desert was full of bush, it was not the desert image you think. The driver was good.

Magical Desert

This place was absolutely magical at night. We were able to ride the camels and horses, played with the bird wearing a hat and got henna tattoo which was beautiful as well. The dinner was different but good. The sunset was the BEST along with the view of the arena. They do have a couple of shops to purchase collectibles, and pictures that they take of you doing the various activities. All in all I would love to return again and re-experience it all over.

brilliant fun

We had an amazing time. Got it as part of a deal. Could not belive it includes the tour, food and henma among other activities. Got to dance and eat in the desert camp. However be prepared as they charge extra for alcoholic drinks, puxs

Great experience

We did this excursion whilst staying in Dubai for part of our honeymoon. The desert and trip itself was fantastic and a great experience. My only gripe was the SUV being described as ‘luxury’ and it couldn’t have been more wrong. The A/C was so poor, it was 37c and I felt like I was in a greenhouse. Top tip, don’t sit in the 2 seats at the back. These were so cramped and it just made it worse. That said, the dune driving was brilliant, our driver was clearly very experienced and this paid off in our enjoyment. You then get taken to a ‘camp’ where you’re served local cuisine and watch a few dances. Honestly, that’s not my kind of thing and find it quite cringey. There is also the option of a camel ride, seemed pretty pointless as you just go around in a circle. I actually felt quite sorry for the camels , one clearly didn’t want to do it but was made too. Would i do it again? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Definitely.

Not what I we expected !

We signed up for this when booking the holiday with Voyage Privé, the description & information given was very limited & we definitely should have looked into it ! We were led to believe it was night in the desert and a meal. We knew nothing of the 4x4 Camels It taking 6 hours ! We were supposed to be picked up at 2.30pm which we were not happy about, but were left waiting for nearly an hour ! We hated it & would never have booked it had we known what the actual trip was all about ! It was not worth the money.

Fab on the whole but....

We loved our trip with alpha tours. Lovely guide, clean comfy truck and amazing desert dune bashing. Only disappointment was the camel ride which consisted literally of getting on a camel, turning around a small circle for a photo and getting off again! We could have loved to have a longer walk. Food and show was good and it was great to show our kids (7&8yrs) that there is more to Dubai than shopping malls and water parks! My youngest did feel a bit sick on the dune bashing but driver just slowed down to accommodate this and she survived and we enjoyed!

Great experience

Desert Experience was great. Started with an SUV ride through the desert - great pictures, saw some wild camels. Ended with dinner and show in the desert, with shops and hookah. Definitely recommend.

Wish I hadn't gone

Crammed in the back of a 4x4- I mean crammed in the back seats that are behind the back seats- the ones in the boot with small windows and little legroom. No water on hand in the 40 degree desert heat where we waited for 45 mins for the other cars to turn up- without being explained by the driver. Very violent 4x4 drive across dunes which were more about drivers showing off to other drivers than anything- giving some nice bruises and banged heads on the roll bars in the cramped back of the 4x4. Bedouin camp was ok, had better experience of something similar in Sharm to be honest. no info from driver on where or what time were leaving- found out details from others on the trip. Drive back to road without any aircon- excuse given that the tyres were low for the desert and they needed to power to keep traction- this despite it being at night and much cooler, and the road was a dirt track rather than dunes and so not arduous terrain and the aircon was fine for the violent dune driving earlier. Motorway back to Dubai was taken at speed with some dangerous driving with other road users (overtaking on the wrong side and braking hard)- Relieved to make it back to the hotel in one piece and get out of the cramped back of the 4x4. Steer clear of this.

<p>Wonderful experience. The ride around the sand dunes can be a little rough if you are prone to motion sickness. I sat in the front seat because of this and had no problems. Several cars had to stop and let people out to vomit. Just be aware this can be a problem.</p>

Exciting exhilarating but not for...

<p>Exciting exhilarating but not for the faint hearted. Nearly died going up and down some of the sand dunes but we were fortunate to have Mohamed who was the lead driver with 12 other 4WD behind. The camp was also interesting as was the camel ride and watching the dancing. The whirling dervish before dinner and the belly dancing after.</p>

<p>SO MUCH FUN! The ride into the desert is of course the best part! When you arrive at the camp, there are camels to ride, shisha to smoke, food to eat, and entertainment after sunset. Really a wonderful evening. We did not have the option of falconry or henna, like some other tours provide. But we didn't miss it. Tons of food options to please everyone, and alcohol is available for purchase. A must-do in Dubai!</p>

Except that everything else was really nice experience ... photo stops in desert, camel ride, Bedouin village in desert, dinner. Really nice and something different to see except Dubai city lights and skyscrapers!</p>

<p>the Desert experience was awesome. the tour company sent us an email two days before to confirm our address and also sent a letter to the hotel. the driver was on time to pick us up and was very friendly and explained to us everything during the drive and also told us a bit about the Emirati culture etc.</p> <p>the Dune Bashing was awesome! our kids loved it and would definitely do it again!!! the camp was clean and the food adequate. only downside was the very brief Camel ride and the exorbitant prices charged for the photos and the mementos in the kiosks at the camp. they also didnt take Credit cards for any purchases so be sure to carry some Cash.</p> <p>would highly recommend the tour.<br/> traveled December 2016</p>

<p>Great adventure, loved the dune bashing, sand boarding and the sunset was amazing, only thing that let it down was the camel ride, there were 3 camels, you got on went round in a circle of about 20m then off again, not really a camel ride and the kids were disappointed.</p>

<p>A must go in Dubai. The sunset in the desert was mesmerizing and worth the entire trip to Dubai. The driver Sidheek was great and even took pictures of family in the desert sunset that will always be remembered. The pick up was also pretty on time. After deflating the wheels, the driver took us through the desert dunes. I have to admit it is a tough ride, I would recommend it BIG TIME. We went with my 72yr mother in law and she enjoyed it as much as my 14 and 17yr daughters. You will then experience a sunset in the middle of the desert that will blow your minds. Worth every penny you pay and you will always treasure such memories. Then the camp dinner is also very good and another great experience. I strongly recommend this experience and this particular company. Ask fro Sidheek as driver!</p>

Organisation parfaite 4x4 dans le desert

Nous avons fait une excursion en 4x4 avec dîner dans le désert avec Alpha tour. Des le pick up qui était à I heure jusqu’au drop off dans la soirée tout était parfait. Les sensations de rouler dans les dunes en voiture sont incroyables! Notre guide Mohammed a su répondre à toutes mes questions sur la vie dans les UAE et nous a diverties tout le long du trajet. Après avoir conduis jusqu’au campement nous avons eu le droit à un dîner traditionnel (mélange entre libannais et autre) en plein milieu du désert. Danse orientale et musique était de la partie. Pensez à prendre de l’eau et un pull.

joli désert

une excursion agréable dans le désert, un très bon BBQ avec des danses, de la musique, vous pourrez faire un tatouage au henné.En ce qui concerne la promenade en chameau,ça dure 4 minutes mais je ne l'ai pas fait, ces chameaux m'ont fait trop de peine, on devrait pouvoir les voir et leur faire un câlin. C'est comme pour éléphants en Asie, il ne faut pas monter dessus.

Esperienza fantastica nel deserto

È stato semplicemente fantastico. La prima sosta nel deserto bella ma non entusiasmante, recinzione visibile, molte jeep insieme, molti arbusti Poi la corsa sulle dune con la jeep: emozionante e divertente Poi la seconda sosta: fantastica. Solo dune rosse sabbia e silenzio al tramonto Infine l’arrivo al campo tendato: Luogo ovviamente turistico ma la serata è stata ben organizzata La guida Mozu, molto gentile e disponibile. Se potesse diventare un po’ più loquace sarebbe ancora meglio!

Alles gut.

War so wie es beschrieben ist. Pünktliche Abholung. Freundlicher Fahrer. Tour durch die Dünen. Kurzer Kamelritt (für ein Bild). Dann gutes Essen. Alkoholfreie Getränke waren mit dabei. Zwei Tanzvorstellungen. Wer es noch nicht mitgemacht hat, soll es machen, aber ein zweites Mal würd ich es auch nicht machen.

Emozionante!

Ho acquistato il tour on-line prima della partenza, il pacchetto includeva anche l'accesso al Burj Khalifa (per un costo complessivo di circa 80 euro per pax). La compagnia ha prontamente risposto via mail a tutte le mie richieste fornendo un impeccabile servizio. Il giorno del tour siamo stati prelevati dall'albergo e con un SUV abbiamo raggiunto il deserto. Prima sosta per qualche foto e poi a bordo del SUV per un entusiasmante su e giù dalla dune del deserto. A seguire arrivo presso una struttura che riproduceva un villaggio berbero...giro sul cammello e cena davvero ottima ed abbondante accompagnata da spettacoli di danza. Tutto perfertto ed impeccabile!
