Fantastic your

Great tour with knowledgeable guide and captain, who went above and beyond the our expectations. Lunch and snacks were included. Between the two snorkeling periods we took a break on a beach where the guide even showed us how to open and served us coconuts. The captain and guide also showed enthusiasm in stopping to show us dolphins and whales on the way to and from the island. While snorkeling, we got to see turtles, timid reef sharks, and vast amounts of colorful fish. Highly recommended.

Good tour

The tour is nicely organized. But in my personal opinion snorkeling in Belize is a lot better in terms of water visibility, colorful corals, and marine life. I give 4 stars not because anything is wrong with the tour group, but because I can only give up to 5 stars for Belize.

A rough sea

It was a rainy day and the sea was very rough. We felt very sick on the boat and had to vomit. We were only able to do part of the snorkeling tour. But the visibility was clear and we even saw sea turtles.

Wanted to go again and again during our stay at Drake Bay

We saw so many turtles and sharks during our trip to Cano! Our guide, Karol, was absolutely fantastic - making sure we saw as much as possible and working hard to make sure we got great shots of all the animals we saw! High recommend!

Great Experience

We had such a great day with this excursion. Kendall was our tour guide and he was so nice and patient. He took us to two beaches and the food was delicious! The captain and his helper were also super helpful. We didn't get to see much as it has rained two days prior but it was still worth it!

Lots of sun!

Itinerary was as advertised. Good mix of snorkeling and relaxing on Cano Island and San Josecita beach. Guide and boat captain spent time when dolphins were spotted. Water was not super clear but good amount of fish and guide helped to point out turtles.

Tortugas of Caño Island

Christian was our tour operator for today. He was spectacular and even used my gopro to free dive and get the best turtle video ever! The captain, Angel 😇 was very good at trying to give us the smoothest ride. Food in town was good for the end of the trip. Sunscreen as much as possible with reef safe products!!

Best you can do at Drake Bay

It's such an amazing experience!! Fully recommended!! And the tour guides are super nice, they get sure that you have the best of it!! Thank you so much for everything!!

Cano island snorkelling trip

Great snorkelling trip where we saw turtles, reef sharks and loads of colourful fish! You get to see quite a large area of the reef with a short rest stop in the middle and lunch at the end. We also saw dolphins on the way! I am a glasses wearer and used disposable contact lenses which worked well (would suggest just keeping the mask on as much as possible and then removing contacts after the activity). Overall great experience!

Need refund

Description not clear of where the location is. Very disappointed, got no refund. Money and time wasted.

Marvellous Exerperience

Had a great first part of the snorkeling trip. Our guide Christian was knowledgeable and took us to see turtles and an array of fish. Second half was spectacular because instead of staying in the same area, Christian had heard giant mantas had been spotted. Spent a half hour floating over and watching these magnificent animals. Lunch back in town was a perfect end to the trip. Highly recommended.

Fun trip!

We had a very fun trip. Detoured on the way to the island to see a whale and her calf. Saw sea turtles, sharks and manta rays along with the usual fish. Detoured on the way back to see a pod of dolphins. Guides went out of their way to make sure everyone was doing OK. Nice lunch at the end.

Disappointed at the end

The tour itself was fine. However, our guide promised to send the gopro footage he took during snorkeling. I specifically didn't bring my underwater camera because this was advertised with the tour. It was never sent. I contacted the tour company a couple days later and never got a response. I guess they got my money already so why do they care about following through on anything promised.

Well organised and great guys.

Nothing we know to do with the company and guides, but not our best experience of snorkelling, although we did see a turtle and stingray. In one way having a guide point stuff out was good but following a load people with flippers on felt overcrowded. Lunch was good and the guides were very friendly and informative. Again nothing to do with this company but cannot stress enough a really good sunblock or clothing as we got severely sunburnt and we kept applying sun screen.

Short but nice

Nicely organised, but quite short. Only 2 times 45 minutes of actual snorkeling. First spot wasn't great, second better but took a while to find good visibility. Saw lots of turtles, some nice fish, nothing else. Back before lunch, which was provided and nice.

Great experience with great staff

Very nice day with a great guide and a great captain. We shaw a shark, turtles, murena and a lot of other fishes. The Pacific Ocean was warm and very pleasant.

Cano fun and sun

Did get to see dolphins and turtles. Started a little late for a .mechanical issue but switched boats and were on our way. Had a good lunch at one of our my favored restaurants in town. Good guide..we'd definitely go again.

First class snorkelling day trip to Canó Island

Had a brilliant day out with Pacheco Tours. Snorkelling equipment was top notch and finished off with a lovely late lunch back at Drake Bay. Saw many species of fish including Parrot Fish along with several Hawksbill Sea Turtles and a few white tipped reef sharks. Our guide Christian was able to point everything out as well as give details of the abundant marine life on show. Thoroughly recommend Pacheco Tours for all your tour needs from Drake Bay.

Cano Island Snorkeling Tour

I will never forget this remarkable experience! The full day snorkeling trip to Cano Island included dolphins, turtles, sting rays, sharks, barracuda, and every colorful fish you could ever imagine! Our guide Adrian was professional, helpful, and kept us safe. He was able to point out and identify SO many sea creatures, and shared such interesting facts. We learned not only about the amazing sea life, but Adrian also gave us much information about the history, and indigenous cultures of Cano Island. The boat rides were spectacular, and the lunch was delicious! I highly recommend!

Amazing marine life, lush islands, and amazing tour staff

Amazing experience, well paced, multiparty journey with experienced tour operators. Note the tour is bilingual. We departed on time, after being offered some tea and coffee, and embarked on a dmall transport ship from the Rancho Corconvado beach. From there our experienced captains took us about 1.5 hours to Isla de Caño. Note the passage can be turbulent, as it's a small ship moving at high speed over the open sea. It's a beautiful ride, and the crew was accommodating. We disembarked about 500 metets from Isla de Caño, where we explored the undersea volcanic ridges and corals. Sadly, almost all the coral was dead (typical now with climate change), however there was still a lot of life in the area. Even during rain, the clarity of the sea was about 70%. I swam with dolphins, sea turtles, lemon sharks, parrot fish, angle fish and many others. There were numerous sea turtles that allowed us to get quite close. Our guides were very experienced, Adrian was a fun, upbeat person. The tour didn't have dive flags, so we had to tie use life jackets as dive markers, and it was a bit hard to keep track if the group while in the ocean, because several other tour groups arrived after us. They could benefit from the use of dive flags or a visual way to identify the ship and group at sea. I felt I had a good amount of freedom to leave the group and follow animals, as well as free dive into the volcanic rocks. I saw a number of animals the group missed this way, as large groups will scare off marine life. We did a one hour dive at on area, then spent about an hour on Isla de Caño, where we hiked up to a look out. We were not permitted to enter the trails, as it is a protected site for archeological and biological reasons. After that we dove in a second area for another hour, with a good mix of deep water and shallow areas. Note the volcanic rocks are sharp, and you need to remain careful to avoid hitting them. We then crossed the bay and returned to the mainland, at Playa de Josecito, a small cove with an island. After a half hour we returned to Bahia Drake, where we had a great buffet lunch at the Drake Inn.. Overall it was a great experience, and the tour operators were really helpful and accommodating. The experience was great, and I saw many unique marine animals.

Great day snorkeling at Caño Island

Fantastic. Our guide Xavier was friendly and helpful. We saw lots of sea life, including spotted dolphins, large stingrays, spotted eagle ray, lots of sea turtles, a moray eel, many colorful reef fish, and a baby shark. A great way to spend the day

Great experience!

We went out snorkeling near Cano Island with Pacheco Tours and had the trip of a lifetime. First we saw dolphins and a whale (jumping!) on the way to the island and when we were diving we saw many turtles, reefsharks, bluejacks, tropical fish etc.. The guide was a great passionate diver himself and shared his photo’s of the trip at lunch (included) - nice, really nice! We had our childeren (8 and 13) with us and they were amazed.

Snorkeling with turtles

Marvelous snorkeling adventure with very competent and friendly guide. We saw many turtles of different species and sharks. On the way to Cano Island we were also able to observe whales. This excursion comes highly recommended.

Amazing!!!!

Words can not do this trip justice, what an experience!! We saw a mother and a baby hump back whale, about 7 or 8 turtles, loads if colourful fish and beautiful corals. One of the black turtles was mating so there was two together. Respectful to the land, wildlife but also getting close enough to see them. Absolutely breathtaking. Our tour guide and captain were second to none off the chart ratings from us 10 out of 10 for perfection. Thank you Christian and captain couldn't recommend you enough, worth every penny and more! We will never forget this trip! X

professional, relaxing, safe, fun

Fun boat, snorkel & lunch!

A great morning out on the water followed by a delicious cassado lunch onshore. Water was rough, but guides waited for it to settle down so we could enjoy snorkeling- saw sharks & turtles & lots of fish.

Amazing snorkeling

I am a Russian tour guide in Costa Rica and only the one place I have never been is Corcovado and Cano iceland. Now its low season, so I took my family to see places I never seen myselth. Guys, you can understand, that being a tour guide I am very serious in choosing the company for new things to do. This guys were amazing, everything ontime, guide was amazing, we saw sharks, turtles, dolphines, whales. The weather was not so good, but anyway we saw everything. I defenetlely recommend this guys to see corcovado and cano iceland.

Great tour and experienced guide

We did the snorkeling adventure with our family of four (kids 8 & 11). Our guide was very experienced and was able to dive down to point out creatures we may not have seen on our own amongst the reef. He pointed out sharks, sea turtles, pufferfish, etc. He was also very kind to our eager 8yo who stuck by his side during almost the entire adventure! I am by no means a "water person." I typically sit-out on water activities, including swimming pools, but I greatly enjoyed this tour. Despite my fear of water, I felt calm, safe, and relaxed while snorkeling. When I floated on the surface, and looked down into the beautiful world below, it was just so peaceful. I had read snorkeling in Costa Rica is not the same as snorkeling elsewhere, such as the Carribean. However, this was my family's first attempt and we all greatly enjoyed it. Perhaps the visibility is not as far here, but it was still beautiful and we have no regrets! My daughter said it was her favorite activity of the entire trip. We stopped by Playa Josecito on the return to Drake Bay to enjoy the beach for a bit before heading back for lunch. Lunch was provided back at Drake Bay in one of the restaurants, which was delicious. We also did the Corcovado Tour and were pretty excited to have lunch there again the next day. It is important to know this snorkeling takes place at an island about 10miles off the coast. In one area, our waves were fairly calm; however, the waves in the second section were much choppier, likely due to some nearby weather (you could see storms in the distance). The activity of snorkeling was not affected, but we did bob in the water a lot more and lost sight of our group between waves. However, the captain of the boat stays nearby and keeps an eye out. If at any time you decide you want to retreat to the boat for a break, the tour guide will call the boat over, and you can get back onto the boat. Remember to use Reef-Safe sunscreen to protect the reef!

OSA peninsula water

The trip was amazing, the fishing experience as well as the snorkeling with one of the best underwater corals and variety of fishes. Excellent attention and great lunch as well.

Great experience snorkeling

Christian was a great boating guide. The boat ride was beautiful. The tour was great for my first time snorkelling seven and 12 year old girls. The water was a little murky when we were there and some of the currents were difficult but we saw sharks and stingray and turtles and lots of beautiful, colourful fish. I recommend this tour and sunscreen. Christian took photos as we were going and shared what we saw in AirDrop.

Nice snorkeling

We saw many fish including sharks and some turtles. On our way back several dauphins occured. It was a nice day.

Great tour above and below the water.

Very early start but worth the effort! A fun 40 min boat ride to Cano Island...on the way we saw dolphin and a Manta Ray swimming beneath the boat. Our guide, Christian, gave us excellent information about what we were seeing along the way and the history of the island. He guided us to two separate snorkeling sights. First was literally like an aquarium where we saw many types of fish and two turtles. The second was different but interesting with huge shoals of fish making an amazing spectacle. Christian was passionate about preserving the park and very safety aware. He delivered everything with a smile and a great sense of humour. A good time :)

Okay but overpriced and unnecessary stops

We saw quite some fish and turtles and even dolphins from the boat, but we had to follow the guide constantly and swim a lot. We would've preferred being able to hang around and explore the first snorkeling stop at our own pace, really being able to look around. Also the price is really high for these trips here, compared to other, more beautiful snorkeling destinations. Making it a one stop (only the first) trip, without uncomfortably sitting around on random beaches without purpose and some snacks instead of lunch for 1/3 - 1/2 of this price would have been perfect.

Bravo! A snorkeling trip to remember

This was a outstanding tour. There are two sessions of snorkeling. We saw many bright fish, puffer fish, a manta ray, 4 sea turtles and 2 sharks. The best was the dolphin interchange after our snorkeling. There were perhaps twenty dolphins playing with our boat, riding the boat wake and just giving us so much joy! Arvelo and crew were caring and sensitive about the wildlife and the ocean. They were professional and concerned with the tourists’ well being. The lunch was served family style at Rancho Corcovado. It was fresh and tasty; rice, beans, avocado salad and chips. This was our second trip to Costa Rica. This is an outstanding tour, not to be missed!

Great snorkling

Brilliant tour. Saw loads of beautiful fish, turtles and a reef shark. The guides were brilliant and informative and could find lots of cool stuff. We also saw dolphins on the way back. Highly recommended, one of the best things we did in drake bay.

Cool Adventure!

Loved the experience of snorkeling out at Caño Island in CR. However, if I had to critic this experience the only thing that I found slightly annoying was the “breaks”. I get that some people need to rest but you have life jackets on and we move in a group at a slow rate. During the experience we took 2, 35 min breaks on separate beaches. Both beautiful beaches but still, the snorkeling is the point here, not a beach day. It’s listed as a Full day of snorkeling but between the boat ride to the island, and the “breaks”, snorkeling is only about 1.5 hours of this trip in 2 (45 min) sections.

Impressed!!!

Did both the Cano Island and Corcovado Park tours. Pacheco handles the reservations professionally with excellent email communications. The tours themselves had amazing guides that great eyes for spotting wildlife while concerned for everyones' safety. We had lower expectations for seeing the amount and variety of wildlife, but we were impressed with the quality and quantity. The boats were clean and well maintained. Highly recommended! Pro tip: bring watershoes for rocky shore.

Amazing!

The snorkling in Cano Island was amazing. Catherine our guide was really nice and prepared! We saw different whales , sea turtles, baby shark and lots of fish! Then stoped in an amazing beach! Really cool!!

Excellent tour support

A super nice tour with absolutely nice and competent guide. The boat trip leads to the island of Cano, where snorkeling takes place. A fascinating experience with numerous reef fish, sharks and turtles. 2 dives with a break in between and a good lunch at the end Absolutely recommended!

Great experience!
