7 Day Adventure and Wildlife Tour in Drake Bay and Osa

A Beautiful Experience.

This tour was absolutely fantastic. I have to give a massive thank you to everyone at Sukia for running a tour which didn't hand feed us a few photo opportunities but allowed us, as guests in such a beautiful place, to experience all aspects of the nature around us. Spending 3 days in the national park, getting the chance to hike the trails with a knowledgeable guide and that was only half the holiday. Night & early morning walks, snorkeling and a mangrove boat trip to round everything off. I loved everyday as it was always different. Although seeing all the various species was a huge part of the trip. As the website exclaims, it is more about experiencing the Osa peninsula as a whole and being able learn about this ecosystem and how unique it is. Again, huge thank you to Sukia!! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to really more than a few tourist hotspots. 10/10

Nature, wildlife adventure paradise

I joined the 7 days tours of sukia travel, everyday is unforgetable adveture to me. Osa peninsula is a paradise for nature, wildlife and adventure.

7 day adventure in Osa

The guides were fantastic, so knowledgable and capable of spotting things we would never have seen without their help. Five stars also for Estefanie from the office who helped us sort out issues with delayed flights and lost luggage. Nothing was too much trouble. This is a magic part of the world, and a great company to help you make the most of your visit. Thanks guys!

Absolutely excellent adventure tour and tour company!!!!!

We HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventure on the Osa Peninsula. My husband and I are in our 60s and love hiking, wildlife, wild places and are ardent conservationists - we stay away from anything that feels like mass eco-tourism. We were looking for a way to experience the Osa Peninsula with one company taking care of all of the logistics - and with a company that emphasizes conservation and sustainability - we were so impressed with Sukia - their tourism ethics are super, and their guides are authentic, experienced, fun and passionate about what they do. And they obviously love their jobs. Very quickly we felt more like friends than “clients”. Our time at Corcovado was amazing. Our guide Everisto spotted so much wildlife for us: tapirs, sloths, monkeys, anteaters, so many birds, snakes, and is a wealth of information about the forest and wildlife. We loved it. The night walk with Sergio was awesome, again, lots of critters! Snorkeling at Cano Island was a treat, so beautiful, dolphins, so many turtles, beautiful fish, a gorgeous beach. Instead of the canyoning we decided to go birding with Emilio and Eduardo, wow 40 species in one afternoon. And we wrapped it up with the mangrove tour, which was also super with Emilio. The guides are to notch!!!!!!! We were so impressed and loved the camaraderie. David’s introduction at the beginning of the trip created a deep context for what we would experience and why to visit the Osa Peninsula and support the conservation of this beautiful region and the local communities. We chose to stay at their hostel, which we loved, as well as Estefanie, who runs the hostel and took care of all our needs there. We were fortunate to have a cabin to ourselves. FYI our trip was in April and it was hot and humid. So be prepared to sweat! If the trip description appeals to you go for it. Awesome trip thank you Sukia team!

The Sukia seven day experience was fantastic - very well organised, small groups and excellent guides. Richie was a fantastic and enthusiastic wildlife guide in Corcovado Park - we saw a huge amount of wildlife with him and Serena Station is a very well organised camp (you just need to suck up the heat and humidity!). Sergio was another excellent wildlife guide for the night tour out of Agujitas. We also found Emilio on the mangrove tour to be great and very knowledgeable. Apart from the snorkelling, we were never in a group of more than 5 guests on the Sukia tours and for the hike to San Pedrillo there were just two of us + guide. It really does what it says on the tin - small, excellent guided groups to do all the excursions you could want to in the area. We missed out on the canyoning as we felt like a bit of a break after 3 days in the Park but everyone who had done it said it was the best part of their trip (still - we had a lovely day walking to Cocolito Beach and swimming in the ocean - highly recommend Claudio's Grill with a view of the bay for lunch!). There were constant updates and reminders of start times by WhatsApp from the Sukia team. They also helped us organise transport when we left. I must admit I expected us to be in one group of people for the whole week but actually we did each activity with different people. For the snorkelling & canyoning morning trips you get the afternoon off (but given everything starts to early and it is so hot we tended to just enjoy a few hours of aircon to relax when we had any spare time). The lodgings were quite simple but well located and breakfasts were good. The one thing I would recommend is being a bit more organised with your kit lists than we were - the list on the Sukia site is a little misleading too I think. For our trip (March) I would recommend: hiking shoes or even trainers (boots really not necessary as the terrain is pretty even apart from a few roots on the hike to San Pedrillo but really nothing hectic) simple water shoes so you can get on and off the boats which were transport to all the activities apart from the night walk! if you do an overnight in Corcovado you of course need a slightly bigger rucksack - note that the only time we had to carry it any distance was for the 7km hike to San Pedrillo though - Sirena Station is very near the beach so you can drop your bag there and do the wildlife walks without it small travel towel ear plugs for the dorms I wish I had brought a camelback rather than a water bottle the guidance says long trousers but we wore shorts and did not have any problems with bites or leeches - however you might want long trousers for the canyoning to protect against the rocks sunscreen, insect repellent dribags What we did not need but was on the kit list was a waterproof jacket - if it rains you just get wet!

Absolutely incredible

5 stars is not enough. This was by far the best trip of my life. I came here fully depleted from constant stress. This adventure filled up the tanks and then some. The connection to nature hits on a spiritual level for me, inviting me to reconsider or challenge some of the values I bring back home. The adventure was top notch from rainy boat rides to hikes/swim in the canyon, it was intense but fun. I did the 7 day and can’t think of one adventure I would have been ok passing on. I’m in San Jose now ready to head back to Los Angeles and planning when I can come back with my kids. Truly incredible.

Wonderful 7-day adventure

My experience with Sukia was nothing short of extraordinary. I chose to do the 7-day safari adventure and can confidently say that this was my best idea this year. All the guides l've met were so passionate and still full of curiosity after years, decades, spent into the jungle. That everlasting wonder, but also the respect those people have for the natural world were contagious and made every day a memorable one. My trip made me fall in love with the jungle of Drake Bay and Corcovado. From all the animal sightings, to the glistening waters of rivers and ocean, all encompassed by a complex and luxuriant forest system; from the infinitely small fungi to the majestically tall trees, altogether creating a harmony that brought me in the present moment, and made me feel more alive than I ever thought I could be. The wilderness of Corcovado infiltrated my heart and will remain there forever. Outside the adventures, everyone I met working at Sukia welcomed me with joy and open arms, for beautiful conversations, delicious meals cooked by Kendall and Kendall, and a little bit of dancing. As a 21-year old first time solo traveller, I could not have asked better than the Sukia family to make me live a most unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to come back.

No words to describe it

The most epic adventure in the most wild Costa Rica. I have no words to describe it but it is like a explosion of emotions and feelings that will make you feel alive. I came with no clue what to expect because my peers planned it for me and told me (on porpoise) nothing about it. It was the most pleasant surprise in my life. Every day was unique, incredible, amazing... So, my recommendation is to do it. Just do it. Thanks Andre, Carlos, David, Durika family, Alexa, Marvin and flory. Thank you for this unforgettable memory. I will come back.

Amazing

Loved the tour, the guides with very informative on all of the animals and trees. My favorite part was hiking into the clouds near Talamanca. The food had amazing flavor, definitely recommend the fish.

This is a fantastic tour! The national parks are really beautiful, lots of wildlife and beautiful nature. There really isn't anything more beautiful than this. The night tour is fun, interesting to see what happens when it is dark. Then we went to Corcovado. We had a great guide, Evaristo! He sees, hears and smells all the animals and takes beautiful photos of the animals. We had a great tour because of him! My friend went canyoning and thought it was a really fun activity. And also refreshing in the heat. I thought canyoning was a bit too adventurous, and that was no problem at Sukia. I was allowed to go on a birdwatching tour with Evaristo. This was great fun and we saw beautiful birds. Evaristo spotted all the animals here too! The overnight stays were nice and very clean. The bathrooms and toilets were also very clean. So choose this tour at Sukia! You see a lot of beautiful nature, you are active in nature, and you meet friendly people. Everything is well organised, and they think along with you where necessary. I would book this tour again!

This tour is a must

We booked the full package. 7 days of adventure in Drakey Bay and Corcovado National Park. It's not the cheapest tour we've done in Costa Rica, but for us it was worth every cent. Except in Corcovado, we had a different guide every day. Everyone was very competent and happy to pass on their knowledge of nature. The good thing about Sukia Travel is that they employ local guides and therefore know their way around very well. The 3 days in Corcovado were the absolute highlight, though. Everest is the best guide you could have. He lives for his job. His enthusiasm and knowledge helped us see soooo many animals. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.

I'm lost for words, it was amazing. We thought about it for a long time because it costs a lot, but looking back we're so glad we booked the whole package. We also stayed at the Sukia Hostel, which I would definitely recommend. It's in the middle of the jungle, we saw lots of animals from the balcony. It started with the night tour with Sergio, continued with 3 days in Corcovado with André, a day of diving with Alexa and canyoning with David. Thank you so much to everyone, it was perfectly organized, we felt really comfortable at all times and saw so many wild animals and learned something about flora and fauna at the same time. You can see how much the guides love their nature.
