Ist was wonderful! Our Guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and really tried (and succeeded) to make our time special. We saw a lot of wonderful nature and animals - really a great experience!

Amazing

Amazing experience with the Best guide, we ve seen many animals eg. Tapirs (3 times), four types of monkeys, birds, pekari, crocodiles, caymans, bats and many other. Tour rather for people who are used to walk a lot, but guide will fit hikes to group demands.

Great time in Corcovado

We had an unforgettable time in Corcovado National Park. Eric was the guide of our small group and he made the experience super special. He expertly guided us to see a range of mammals, birds and plants, gave us clear explanations of everything which was going on, helped us take amazing pictures and didn't rush at any time. This felt like a real adventure, when we were staking out waiting for a tapir or crossing a river! What we enjoyed most is Eric's respect for nature and that the tour felt authentic. There was great communication from the team and the process of arriving was simple. I would advice to bring a flashlight (if you have one) as it wasn't listed but came in handy on the early walk. The food and accomodation is great given that you are in the middle of a jungle with no access roads! I have attached some photos of animals we saw, but there were plenty more

José the best tourguide

José was great at showing us the secrets of Corcovado!!!!!!!!!!!!! We would recommend to do the tour with him. He knows a great deal about everything and finds the best spots to observe.

Great experience

It was a great experience. Our guide Joege was passionate about wildlife and the national park. He was very knowledgeable and took care of our group (the 2 of us and a family of 4) very well. There was a lot of mud and many mosquitos, the ranger station is badic but very well run. The meals were good (large portions) and the wildlife sightings excellent.

Great experience in Corcovado Park:)

We did a 2-day trip to Corcovado National Park and it was really amazing! Eric is a great guide, he knows everything about the animals and plants in the park. He explained so many interesting things and knew the answer to all our questions. We saw so many amazing animals and Eric was putting an extra effort to find the animals the group especially wanted to see! 🦥 I would definitely recommend the tour!

The difference in a guide

Really great experience, had Jose for a guide and the best way to describe him is someone who really cares about giving you an authentic experience in the park. Shoots to give you an experience that is based on the best chance to see things. I don’t think listing animals is important as they are wild and some sightings change by the day. Just know with Jose you are getting the best chance to understand the forest and the animals within it. He is a real one.

Great communication, education, and passion!

Steven was our tour guide and he made our experience so full and enjoyable. He had passion and excitement for Corcovado throughout the tour. He was attentive and educational which greatly improved the trip and I feel he was better than some of the other guided tour groups we passed. He engaged our teenage son well in getting him to also feel passion for the nature around him as well as lead the boat ride. Our guide communicated schedule, expectations, and tips for the facilities very well. He also maximized our time in the jungle pointing out not only large animals like tapir and many monkeys, but the smallest of unseen wonders from Frogs to fungi. Excellent, cannot recommend enough! The overnight tour is absolutely worth it compared to the day trip - but bring lots of extra dry socks or rent the boots. I have waterproof hikong shoes, but the water and mud was sometimes over them, leading to wet socks.

Incredible!!

We felt so lucky to have Jorge as our guide, his encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and wildlife in Corcovado was amazing. We saw all the species of monkey (4), a tapir, a terciopelo snake(!), crocodile, 2 anteaters, a sloth, an owl and lots of birds. Sleeping over in the station is a must, staying in the park when most people have left and starting at 5 the next morning feels so special! Also grateful to Erick for being available/in contact with me as my bus was delayed! Thank you Pachecho tours and Jorge :)

Amazing

Highly recommend 2 day, 1 night trip to Corcovado via Drake Bay - used airbnb to book a cabin with pacheco tours, too, and would also recommend. We lucked out with the weather! Muddy but beautiful. Wear waterproof boots, bring extra socks, bring sandals to change in/out of for entering/leaving boats and while walking around the ranger station (boots aren't allowed in bathroom, in cafeteria, etc.) Our guide Steven was amazing, identifying and mimicking nearby birds and monkeys. Saw countless plants and animals including Fer-De-Lance, Boa Constrictor, tapir, bats, sloth, anteater, caiman, crocodiles, toucans, etc. He went out of his way to try to find things we were interested in. Great food at Sirena Ranger Station, typical Costa Rican dishes with salad, rice & beans, meat, veggie, and fruit juice. Coffee, yogurt and toppings, eggs and fruit for breakfast. Seemed to accommodate food restrictions, too. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Steven!

Once in a lifetime experience!

A once-in-a-lifetime experience! Our guide, Jose, was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and superbly organized! He ensured we had an amazing experience. He also made sure we rented rubber boots at the reserve and they were a lifesaver!

Magical Couples in Corcovado

We had an amazing trip out to Corcovado arranged with Pacheco Tours, absolutely phenomenal wild life (see list below) and yeah it’s a little warm, humid and you need to walk a bit but it all pays off when you get to see, learn and experience the worlds best biodiversity. The boat ride out is a bit bumpy and landing/ pick up on the beach is a bit wild but all part of the trip. The camp is clean and well organised. Take some cash for coffee/ snacks/ souvenirs. Bring some ear plugs for a good nights sleep. The highlight of our trip and what really made it was our guide Steven. He was nothing short of epic!! He’s been running tours out of Sirena for 20yrs and his experience is second to none. But he also truly loves what he does, is really chilled but switched on and safe. He’s super personable and connects with all the other guides. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer and when we saw a couple things he was as excited as us from beginning to end. If there was a score out of 10 I’d recommend him 15. Not sure if you can request but if you’re reading this definitely ask for Steven, he’s the best! (Please note: guide does not guarantee seeing all the animals we saw but if you listen to him, stay positive, have good vibes and you help spot, Steven is your best bet!) List of Animals (not all): Two toed sloth, three toed sloth, kingfisher, 2 types woodpecker, howler monkey, squirrel monkey, spider monkey, capuchin monkey, caterpillars, boa constrictor snake, tapir (South Americas largest land mammal), hermit crabs, bats, 2 types of toucans, owl, macaw, parrots, hummingbirds, wrens, ants, frogs, bees, crocodiles, quail, fungi, wild boar… you get the drift. We were pretty much the only group to see an ant eater and it was the talk of the camp. Very lucky, hope you get to see just as much!

A Life experience

Best tour I have done in my entire Life ! Everything was clear and very simple, we just had to follow Erick, our super guide, and enjoy the 2 days were we saw more animals than in 3 weeks in all the country 🏆

Great tour and even better guide

Erick is one of the best guides we've ever had. He was so enthusiastic about everything even though he has seen the animals so many times. He even asked which animals we wanted to see so he would try to focus on finding that animal. During the tour we saw multiple macaws, tucans, 2x anteater (rare), 5x tapir, many monkeys, sloth (rare), 3x snakes, scorpion, crocodiles/caymans, and many more mammals, birds and insects. On the boat back we even saw humpback whales. Would definitely recommend. Be aware that you will be in the rainforest so it will be humid all the time. Thanks again Erick!

Sirena Overnight - Pacheco Tours Drake Bay

We did the overnight tour in Corcovado – Sirena. The tour was amazing. Out guide Breyner was well informed and knowledgable about park, animals, plants and Costa Rica. He was able to spot wildlife by sound and sights. He was the best guide we could wish. We were lucky to see a lot of animals – tapirs, four species of monkeys, a toucan, crocodiles, birds, peccaries, an anteater, bats, a porcupine, snakes, … Food in Sirena station was delicious. We absolutely loved this tour. We are happy to choose Pacheco Tours. Everything was organised well and without any mistake. We would highly recommend this tour with Pacheco Tours!

Amazing wildlife experience!

Fantastic experience with our trip to Sirena! Our guide Erick was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the park and all of the animals and plants around. Erick speaks fluent English, but helped us practice our Spanish along the way. He was able to spot wildlife by sight, sound, and movement. He was very personable and took the time to ensure we had the best experience possible. At one point Erick even helped a small child from another group look through his scope and made sure he was able to see the animal. We can't say enough about our experience or Pacheco Tours. Pura Vida!

Amazing over night adventure

Fantastic!! Our guide Erick was outstanding and personable. He was very knowledgeable about the park and the surrounding area since he grew up there. Erick knew all of the birds by sight and sound and was able to spot them from long distances. He speaks fluent English and was able to assist us with translation at the station. We would definitely go again, and absolutely use Pacheco tours.

Fantastic experience and a must see experience

We had the pleasure of having Erick as our guide on our visit. He was absolutely fantastic, he had a lot of patience for us and our kids. He was really good at showing and explaining about the local animals and fauna. I can only make the clearest recommendation to ask for Erick. It should be said that the whole trip was a fantastic experience and a must see experience if you are on the edges.

An experience worth a visit

At first you think it’s quite a budget. But two days in the corcovado park with our guide Erick and we thought it was a great choice. Erick is a fantastic guide. He has an acute knowledge of local flora and fauna. Because he was born here a few kilometers from the park. It has an incredible amount of anecdotes and a lot of humor. He is very professional and wise. At the same time he is attentive and attentive. And knows how to share his passion. And for that thank you, Erick. We were a group of 6 over two whole days with transfers from drake bay. Meals and bed on site with 4am sunrise for a night walk and sunrise and awakening of the forest: unforgettable. Merci Erick. The tour was very well organized. Our guide Jose was super nice, explained and showed us everything very detailed and patient. The accommodation was also great. Ample and delicious food and drinks at the lodge. Clean beds and sanitary areas. Absolutely recommended to do a tour overnight.

Unique experience!

Quite a pass! Unique experience. And Jose, our Guide, you can tell he loves his work as that gets through. Thanks to his explanations and telescope you could understand and see the wildlife of the natural park as if you knew as much as he did.
