A great sightseeing day in Lichtfield National Park.

Visited 3 great swimming holes. Enjoyed our swims. Toured many other must see elements in this wonderful national park. Aaron and Trish were terrific guides, and were most helpful. They provided snacks throughout the day as well as a nice lunch. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits.

Great day trip, great guide, great memories.

A great day trip which included memorable moments. We were part of a group of 15. Our guide Jason was welcoming and friendly. He also kept us informed with numerous stories. Individual differences in terms of mobility were catered for. The $10.00 lunch was very good - healthy fresh food and plenty to choose from. A relaxed and enjoyable day.

Brilliant

It was great. Sabine was a wonderful informative host. We had the best time. Travelling in a small group added a good touch. Highly recommend travelling with this small business operator 😀

Leasurely, informative with a great guide

Bus for pickup was on time. Aaron was our guide and was very good, cheerful, informative, helpful and patient. Frequently informed us about sights on the trip. Stopped to taste bush foods several times. Visted several beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes and had sufficient time at each for a swim if you wished. Was never rushed. Berry Springs was the most easily accessible swimming hole with steps/stairs to get in and out of the water. Paths and picnic area easy to walk around. Had toilets and change rooms. Other swimming holes required walking up/down several o or more steps and some you needed to walk over rocks to get into the water - OK if mobile and reasonably fit. My husband was not very mobile so at some locations we just walked around nearby paths and admired the scenery. Cold water, fruit and biscuits were provided for snacks. We paid for the $10 lunch which was a great banquet of salads, cold meats, wraps and fruit. Stopped at Batchelor on the way home for a drink and a visit to the butterfly farm if you wished. Not rushed here either. The minibus was aging and not all that comfortable as it was a full trip. If you are a larger man then the seats are a pretty tight fit! The trip took about 10 hours overall but well worth it. You have to purchase your own NT National Parks access card online and have it with you in case rangers check visitors. Paying for your own lunch and NT Parks card saves the tour company from having to pay a percentage of these as part of the overall tour cost to a 3rd party booking company (if you book through a 3rd party booking service).

Even got some Bush Tucker

Great day trip to Litchfield National Park

Aaron was a great guide - knowledgeable and easy going and took us to great spots at Litchfield NP. We loved the day and the swimming.

Couldn’t ask for a better day out. Small fun group, magnificent swims at Berry Springs, Shady Creek and Florence Falls( without the 135 steps yay) Aaron was great tour leader, we tried lots of bush tucker ( some a little too enthusiasticly - Al 🤣) Highly recommend 👍

Great tour, Sabine was awesome guide. Plenty of time at each swimming spot. Really worth the $10 lunch option. Loved the cold water on the bus to fill our water bottles.

Litchfield

Great tour Sabine was an excellent tour guide. Litchfield National Park was beautiful with lovely swimming holes. Enjoyed Berry Springs beautiful water. We also visited Buley Rockhole, Florence Falls and Wangi.

Swim, swim and swim

Plunging into the water 3 times were the highlights of the day. The tour guides are really friendly and knowledgeable. They also take responsibilities very seriously, making sure everyone a safe and lovely journey. BTW Dan is a great chef you’ll definitely enjoy the lunch during the trip.

Superb and well cared for

Aaron was the best guide we have ever had. He was engaging, attentive, has a sense of humour, and catered wonderfully for individual needs within the group. Highest recommendation possible to Aaron.

Great day trip from Darwin. Aaron our guide was so helpful and knowledgeable. The park was beautiful and the swims in various waterholes were just great. Aaron put together a great lunch and catered to any request. Happy to recommend.

Worth Going Back!

Litchfield National Park is worth going back. Water of Florence Falls was crystal clear, great panoramic view, comforting natural shed and clean surrounding. Dressing room and toilets were clean with enough water supply. Cascading water of Buley Rockhole provided natural massage. Tour guide, Michael was great, knowledgeable and amiable person. It's just that the car audio was not working and the promised noodle stick for swimming was not available.

A Very Good Day

Loved the water experience and the walk near the Buley Rocks. We also enjoyed the time spent with our guide Sabine who was a font of info and anecdotes.

Amazing Day at Litchfield

Sabine was amazing. Lots of interesting commentary on the history of Darwin. Tour was tailored to suit passengers. Very accommodating and relaxing tour. Noodles provided and lunch option. Would definitely go with Australia2001Travel again.

Great day, really enjoyed it.

Great day with an excellent informative guide. Reccommend travelling with Litchfield Adventure Tours. We couldn't get to all attractions but the waterfalls were spectacular & the swimming well worth the walks. Water falls were really running this soon into the dry season.

Good fitness and mobility required

Mike was the tour leader and was really good, knowledgeable and friendly. The tour says 10 max people but there were 11 on this trip. No biggy but the people at the back were a bit squeezed. Mike gave interesting commentary, but the PA sytem on the bus did not handle it. The people at the back must have struggled to hear anything. Unfortunately it was a public holiday so everywhere we went was packed. So this review is based on that. The waterholes were great, but packed full and busy. Basically only very rocky spaces to put your gear. Dont expect any places to sit comfortably and change. They were extremely difficult to get in and out of for us. A bit slippery to get into over rocks and I think you need to quite fit and flexible for it to work for you. If you're not, dont do this trip.

A great day out from start to finish. Pick up and drop off at our accommodation awesome. Aaron is an awesome guide, friendly and very accommodating. He had lots of info about all the locations we visited and prepared a great lunch. Awesome value for $10. Highly recommended.

Great tour

Our trip today with Aaron to Lichfield was unforgettable. Swimming in magnificent waterholes under waterfalls, tasting and learning about native plants, berries ,leaves , flowers and local knowledge. A delicious lunch, cool water ,fruit and even water noodles were provided. Nothing was too much trouble for Aaron. I would definitely, highly recommend this day tour .

Great going with a small group. Driver has a lot of local information that was helpful. Not much walking, definitely need to wear sneakers, and plenty of rest in the air conditioned van. Best Lemon muffin at Bachelor local store.

Litchfield Tour was a Crown Jewel!

Went on a Litchfield Tour with Joey our guide and it was a wonderful day! Litchfield is gorgeous as it is, but Joey as our tour guide made everything even better. He was so knowledgable, fun and easy to talk to. He even took us to a secret swimming spot because during wet season many of the typical places are closed. It was such a special day but Joey really made it all the better

Wow, what a day! I had the absolute pleasure of joining Joey on a tour of Litchfield National Park, and let me tell you, it was an experience I'll never forget. Joey's energy and passion for the Darwin culture were infectious. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but he also made the whole tour a blast with his friendly demeanor and knack for connecting with everyone in the group. Fabulous day trip!

We had a fabulous day with Joey as our guide! Spectacular views and plenty of opportunities for photos. Our guide shared to many interesting facts and immersed us in the local culture too. And the swims were amazing. The small group size also made for a social and friendly environment. Thanks for a great day!

A must for Darwin!

Aaron was wonderful to have as our guide for Litchfield - he is knowledgeable and made the day really such an enjoyable experience! Great value and a must to experience Darwin and all her beauty.

Tour was very worth the money and the experience

Our tour guide Aaron made our trip to Litchfield very comfortable showing us lots of different bush tuckers along the road as well as letting us try them. We got a lot out of our experience as he shared lots of knowledge about the country, bush Tucker, native trees and animals. Highly recommend this tour and the tour guide to Litchfield National Park.

Small group tour in Litchfield National park & Berry Speings

This was my best day /tour in Darwin with our guide Sabine , we swam at every rock pool , waterfall & secret private swimming holes & Berry springs , we got to float down all 3 pools . Sabine provided us with an amazing fresh picnic lunch & snacks all day & gave us a lot of information about everywhere we went , even the tasting of the green ants & explaining the Magnetic Termite mound fields , highly recommend this small group tour in Litchfield National Park & Berry Springs NT .

Amazing trip. Sabine is a great knowledgeable guide full stories about the history of the region. The small tour accessed places the largest tours groups missed. Florence Falls is a must for a swim in the dry season. We highly recommended this day trip.

Absolutely a delightful time. Robert, our guide, was full of information, and wherever we went for swimming stops, he showed us the quietest corners. The various lakes and rivers in which we swam (one didn't need to swim, of course) were absolutely beautiful, and the trip was a joy. Because it was a small group (limited to 10), people really bonded, as it tended to attract a less conventional type than those on the large, anonymous bus groups

Worthwhile tour when you don’t have your own car

Robbie the guide was so informative, he just kept on with his interesting commentary almost for the entire time. He is so passionate about this area of the world. The various swimming spots and sights were great

Amazing day trip

Small group tours are the way to go. We had a fantastic day with our fellow 9 VIP guest laughing and sharing stories as Sabine showed us amazing waterfalls and rivers and provided comentry of history and local attractions, we swam and had a picnic by a beautifull waterfall.We even shared a beer watching the sunset. Highly recommend Sabine as your guide way better comfort, value and experience than a packed out coach

Sabine is a very kind woman. She is well organized and during the ride and tour she tells you all about Darwin, the Litchfield and everything you wants to know. The tour was amazing and she has more options during the tour for different levels of fitness for people. Or go down a staircase to the water or go to the vip place. Also the lunch was really good. All fresh products and a lot of choices. I would highly recommend Sabine's tour, for young and old!

Fun Day. Great Guide

Small fun group. Great day. Lots to see but not in a stressed way. We covered quite a few sights including Wangi and Florence Falls. Drove through Batchelor and stopped for most amazing coffee and scones. Another stop at the Magnetic Termite Mounts. Sabine is most knowledgeable and makes the tour really fun . It's a long day after all. Good thing she can't stop talking 😅. Lunch is simple with rolls, wraps and salads but fresh and plenty. Fruit and water provided throughout the day. Our last stop, Berry Springs was definitely the highlight of the day. 6/5 stars 👍

Wonderful personalised tour

Sabine took myself and my parents on a day trip to Litchfield National Park. She is an experienced tour operator and proved knowledgeable and flexible, tailoring the experience to suit my elderly companions with such care. The minivan was very comfortable with snacks and cold water on hand and a lovely picnic lunch. We particularly enjoyed our dip in the VIP rock pool.

Es war Super in der Kleinen Gruppe, die schönen Wasserfälle zu sehen. Die Kurzen Spaziergänge waren grad richtig. Den längeren haben wir ausgelassen. Der Gahrer und Reiseleiter hat Spanend erzählt. Ab und zu wäre etwas mehr Zeit noch besser gewesen. Das Baden im Fluss war Super

Very disappointing

The tour was offered by Tripadvisor as a tour with a maximum of 10 guests and in German. We were picked up by a tiny little bus, in which there were 11 guests including us. The driver couldn't speak German and, as we were later informed, it wasn't planned to conduct the tour in German. As we were the last to be picked up, there were only two extremely narrow emergency seats in the last row. The bus was as cramped as a sardine can. The driver talked the whole time, but you couldn't understand a word in the last row because the loudspeakers were apparently not working. At lunchtime, the group was split. One group went on a hike and another part, which we were part of, had to wait at a rest area in the national park. The hiking group was supposed to return after about an hour. We then had to wait for almost 3 hours. The problem was that the driver didn't leave any drinking water behind. Luckily, park employees provided us with water. To make matters worse, we had an unpleasant discussion with a park ranger who told us that we were not allowed to sit at this rest stop for so long without a guide. The return trip to Darwin was very unpleasant because the driver was in a hurry despite the poor road conditions. It was a lost day with travel money wasted.
