Wouldn't do it again

Two times 2 hr drive for two swims and a view of a waterfall, was probably not worth it for me. But it was an easy going day.

Great value, lots to see

Great value tour which made Litchfield so accessible. It was great having someone who knew all the places to go and I didn't have to drive myself around. We had plenty of time in each place for a swim and to soak it all up. Rick was a lovely guide who provided insightful and interesting commentary on our drive and friendly chats.

Great trip. Loved it.

Had Bec c and Naomi as guides. We sat in first seats behind driver. Must say we had a great time with these two, funny informative, just a great day out they made the trip something we will remember. They are an asset to this Company,making people feel comfortable isn’t always easy but they have the ability to do this. Great trip to go on swimming sightseeing so much information Also they are experts on termites. lol 😄

Disappointed..

Autopia Tours: Litchfield National Park Think long and hard before choosing this tour. Do you want quantity or quality in seeing Litchfield National Park? If you want to say ‘been there, done that and have the photos’ without spending a lot of time at the sites, then yes, this tour is for you. We, on the other hand wanted quality and were extremely disappointed with the tour. The option to see ‘Jumping Crocodile Tour’, which didn’t interest us, meant that after these guests were dropped off, we back tracked up the road to Fogg Dam to fill in time while we waited an hour for the Croc Jumping component to conclude. The Dam wasn’t that interesting, there were a few birds, no other wildlife, no crocodiles, so we were stalling for time while the others had their Croc adventure. In our opinion, the Croc Jumping Tour should have been a stand alone tour. The time we wasted waiting, would have been better spent at waterfalls and plunge pools. After that dubious start, we were back on the coach – ( well it wasn’t a coach or bus - but a small commuter) and headed to a stop for lunch. Not long, just 20-30 minutes. Back on the bus and we headed for Florence Waterfall and Plunge pool, where we were expecting to spend significant time. Not the case. We had an hour, which included the time needed to change into swimmers, trek 15 minutes down steep winding stairs to the rock pool. The pool was crowded with other parties, which cannot be helped, but after 30 minutes it was time to trek back up the stairs to the bus again. Another trip to famous Termite mounds, 10 min max to look and take a few photos, back on the bus to Buley Rockhole for 10 Minutes, then Wangi Falls. ‘Just 20 minutes at Wangi folks, no swimming as there was a croc seen here a while ago so its all fenced off’. We’ve no issues with that, as safety is paramount, but the short duration at each location was wearing thin on us... Next a quick stop at a watering hole (bush hotel), no more than 20min though and we are back on the bus. Which by the way was stinking hot with the air conditioning not coping in the heat. In fact, the guide apologised that the air conditioning was not up to scratch. The bus also struggled in the heat and laboured up hills, it was not comfortable, with high backed seats packed tightly together, knees hard against the seat in front of you. If you sat in the aisle you could not see over the head rest of the seat in front of you. If you sat by the window you got fried by the sun. The entire day was rushed with minimal time at locations. Give us a quality tour with fewer sites and stops to enjoy the Waterfalls, Plunge pools and scenery getting there. Yes folks, think very carefully what tour you invest in. For us, Autopia Tours are for those who just want to tick the box titled: ‘been there and done that’. With the Tour advertised as a 10hr day we were disappointed that the advertised features did not match the actual experience. Absolutely waste of time and money with no consideration to a QUALITY experience.

Do the croc cruise!!

A fantastic day! We were picked up from our accomodation on time. Our guide for the day Danny was an absolute legend! Great communication and organisation, highly knowledgeable, safe driver and took us to a cracking waterhole for a swim when the regular one was unavailable for swimming due to crocs. Highly recommend doing the croc cruise. It was so cool!

Look at other tour companies...

The experience itself was amazing but we would choose a different tour company if we had our time again. The bus seats were really uncomfortable with our knees pushed up against the seats in front of ours. The rear of the bus had very limited suspension and the driver Carlos was speeding so we were bounced around a lot. Carlos was so focused on driving fast that he missed our turn-off a couple of times. To top it all off, we were left behind at the croc cruise and had to contact their head office to phone them to come back and get us, as they didn't even realise that they were two customers short. It was lucky we were left behind where we still had phone reception - had it happened at Litchfield Park we would have been stranded for goodness knows how long. The croc cruise was amazing though, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We can't remember their names but very knowledgeable and entertaining. We highly recommend including the croc cruise in your tour!

Well managed full day tour with hotel pick up and return. Bec’s our guide was brilliant, really engaging and professional to all 24 onboard. She was very informative and nothing too much trouble, made the trip really enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Great touring experience in Darwin.

Excellent tour. Tour guide has 42 years of experience with lots and loads of information. Amazing tour guide Miss Danny. We glad we took the opportunity to book with Viator. Amazing service and great customer service. We had 3kids,3 yea yes,6year, 12 year and it was so easy taking them around in the tour. Lots of love and respect for Darwin tourism.

This tour was absolutely perfect. So many beautiful sights, three stop off's for swimming in the most amazing places.Wangi Waterfalls brought me to tears with its beauty. Leigh our tour guide was fantastic..so knowledgeable, friendly, professional and funny. Loved everything about this beautiful day. Just magic!!!

Great tour

I absolutely loved this tour of Litchfield National Park + Fogg Dam. The waterfalls, and their surroundings are beautiful and full of wildlife and the Fogg Dam is very impressive. The tour guide, Leigh, was very knowledgeable and provided all types of information helping the group geting to know not only the park but also Darwins history and nature.

My favourite tour in Darwin

Amazing tour - special thanks to our tour guide Emily who was great vibes and made today a very special day in Darwin. Great experience on the jumping crocs tour, termite mounds and the two swimming pools (bring trunks) and even got a chance to stop for a drink on the day back.

Pleasant but not worth the cost

Swimming at the waterhole at Wangi Falls (blissful) and Buley (lovely though I was a but worried getting in by the slippery, rough, hot riccks( and the crocodile tour were all great - but it didn't really add up to a day worth $220.

Money very well spent

The trip to Lichfield Park was amazing. The swims, the crocs, the whole experience. Our lovely guide Emily, was delightful, enthusiastic, informative, helpful and just simply amazing!! You are the BEST Emily, a true example of a genuine Aussie gem ❤️

Termites mounts

Emily was great, lots of information and beautiful places. Highlights: the magnetic termites mounds. Lots of driving but many chances to stretch the legs

Great and just ok.

Litchfield was amazing. Spectacular waterfalls and beautiful swimming spots. Well worth the day trip. Croc cruise was disappointing. $50 to see 2 crocs! If you want to see Crocs up close I recommend Croc Cove. Fantastic!

Possible would choose another tour

Disappointed to get on the trip to find out the crocodile tour was an extra $50 each, however there were only two spaces available! Having to buy your own lunch was very limited at a road house, given how much we paid for the trip . Litchfield was beautiful and a shout out to our tour guide given it was her second trip solo.

Great tour with an exceptional guide (thanks Em!)

Utterly brilliant! A really well balanced tour with enough time at each stunning spot. Our guide, Em, was *exceptional*! Friendly, welcoming, extremely professional, and knowledgeable, and with a gift for guiding. Can't recommend enough. Defo take binnoculars and if you have them water shoes.

A great day. Scotty is amazing.

A really enjoyable day and Scotty, our guide, was amazing. He knew so much. He knew I was very much into birding so accommodated that and kept us all very well entertained. It is a fairly long day so definitely take plenty of water with you. They do provide some but it would be unfair to rely on that. The waterholes were amazing and Fogg dam is an unbelievable place for bird lovers. Only thing I would improve about it is to reduce the amount of food stops and spend more time at Fogg Dam. 😀

Waterfalls

Nice tour. We visited few waterfalls - lovely places and we saw flying foxes on the trees and flying around- really amazing. It would be great to have more time to go around the last waterfall- there is a nice round track but no time to do it. Really nice day

Terrific tour with Dani

A day trip to some amazing places, made extraordinary by Dani. She's a true local. We not only got amazing detail about the places we visited, plants, animals and insects etc., We also got insights about work in NT. Everything from how to harvest eggs from salties (carefully), how to sort crocodiles by size (treat the cuts and bites you get with croc blood). Plus so many stories from Cyclone Tracy to Bob Hawke at Humpty Doo. Thoroughly recommended!

Great day out

Jumping Crocs was a...

Jumping Crocs was a fizzer, but Litchfield Park was excellent. The guide, Andrea, was very knowledgeable, very capable, and entertained us through the day with information and stories about what we seeing.

Great guides, great itinerary

Great tour. Andrea was an excellent guide telling us lots of facts about the history and the wildlife of the area with an enthusiasm that is infectious. It made the drive very enjoyable particularly as a solo traveller. I very much enjoyed bird spotting at fogg dam and swimming at the two water holes they were absolutely beautiful (worth it despite the crowds) . Lunch not supplied but the lunch stop sells great sandwiches. Definitely recommend this tour. It's a bit rushed in that you don't get to stay in any one place for long but that's inevitable on a tour and I felt like we got to see all the highlights so maybe one day I can go back and enjoy my favourite spots. I also might not have felt safe to swim without going on a tour and having the knowledge and information of the guide telling me it's safe.

Excellent Experience

Excellent experience. Our tour guide Mel was extremely accomdating for all passengers and allowed plenty of time for us to explore all the waterfalls. Would reccomend to anyone!

Experience Darwin like a local

The small group tour was amazing. Our guide Jay, was charming, knowledgeable and fun to be around. She chatted with us, was friendly and offered us a unique experience. Jay offered us plenty of local insights and totally personalised the trip. It was a great day out.

Amazing day in Litchfield

Had the best day out in Litchfield! Our guide Andrea was super enthusiastic and had all the knowledge of the flora and fauna. I have learned a lot about the beautiful top end, swam in some amazing water holes and seen some great waterfalls. Would highly recommend. Thanks again Andrea!

PERFECT - DO IT!

We did the tour with Andrea and we highly recommand to go there because we had the most beautiful and joyful day with her! She was the best guide we had so far. We got so many infomations and we had just a perfect tour. Thank you again so much! We did another tour in Darwin with a different company yesterday and we didnt like it at all so Autopia is really good guys, trust me!😍😊

Autopia ditchfield tour and croc jumping

Very well run tour. Lee the guide did a great job, natural story teller and made the road trips enjoyable. He’s a wealth of info. Safe driver, read the group well. Highly recommended. Croc jumping is a bit dependent on how the crocs feel that day but enjoyable if never seen them in natural habitat. I suggest actually swimming to kill time at the falls otherwise it’s hanging around for about an hour and can get tiring if warm day.

Litchfield & Fogg Dam experience

We travelled with Tim for this excursion. Tim was very well versed with a great knowledge of the various sites that we visited or drove by and was very much involved with us to make it a totally awesome adventure. As well, his mix of music and stories made the day fly by, whilst we were travelling between locations. With Tim, we had a seven star tour.

Relaxed and engaging trip

A relaxed, engaging and personal trip. Despite being wet season the tour was full with a big mix of people, 20 in total. We knew we wouldn’t be able to swim due to heavy rainfall but we did benefit from the waterfalls being in full force and the area being very green. We had limited views on one stop because of the conditions so Tim put an extra waterfall stop in. Tim was really informative and is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the area, and Australia. There were plenty of toilets stops and no long stints on the bus. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. Ice box provided to put lunch in although the first stop was a nice cafe which sold lovely looking rolls and good coffee.

Great day out

As we were travelling in the wet season it meant that swimming in the usual spots was not allowed due to the pure force of the water. However, this also meant the waterfalls were spectacular. We also did the Croc cruise which was fascinating and just a little bit thrilling to be so close to these awesome predators. Our guide Tim was great, we had many stops and git to get a bit of a feel for tha national park and aboriginal culture. His play list on the bus was appropriate, informative and sometimes funny. We had a couple a good walks and had a few obsticals to deal with that day between, the weather, the wildlife and the flooding but the group was great and we all had a great day.

Stunning waterfalls and refreshing swimming spots

Waterfalls and rock pools were spectacular. The water was refreshing and guided were friendly and shared lots of interesting facts about each stop

Fantastic day out

Today I went on the Lichfield tour with Jay the tour guide and Andrea the driver and additional guide. Both ladies were excellent, their knowledge of the wildlife and countryside was incredible. We stoped at three waterfalls and swam at two of them. It was a fabulous day which I highly recommend and if you're lucky enough to have Jay and Andrea be your guides you will be extremely happy.

Day trip to Litchfield National Park combined with Croc Jumping Exhibition

The day trip to Litchfield National Park combined with the Croc jumping segment on the Adelaide River yesterday (7/10/2022) with Lee was a brilliant experience. We found the Croc jumping segment most informative and thorougly enjoyable. Thereafter the rest of the day spent in the Litchfield National Park was likewise very informative and the swimming was excellent. Lee was outstanding in making the day absolutely enjoyable for us. His in-depth knowledge of, not only the NT, but most of Australia as well as global issues was incredible. We were most impressed by his geographical, historical and environmental scientific knowledge. An incredibly interesting travel guide to listen to. Lee was also very entertaining and generally went out of his way to make the day a comfortable and fun day for us.

Highly Recommended

So many highlights! Our tour guides Becs and Cam were so knowledgeable and taught us many interesting facts about the region- they also kept us safe and looked after our well-being the entire time. The many swimming holes that we visited were not only refreshing, but they were also breathtaking. We travelled with a small group of people, so you were able to connect with others, if you wanted to. We also had many opportunities for toilet breaks if we needed 😝. I highly recommend this tour.

Great Value Experience

The day trip to Litchfield was our second tour with Autopia (the first was to Kakadu), and both experiences were excellent. The one minor irritation was the air-conditioning on the buses (September in the Top End is hot) but the driver guides were knowledgeable and entertaining and the places visited really interesting, Litchfield in particular because of the swimming holes. Autopia offers good value for money.
