Litchfield Day Tour from Darwin with Offroad Dreaming

Beautiful scenery

Very good day tour with lovely waterfalls and swimming. Emily was our tour guide and a wealth of information. Emily obviously knows the territory, explaining about the trees and plants and how they change during the wet season to the dry seasons. How the bush protects itself and thrives. Woollie bark trees with there fire retardant bark and how the flowering plants survive. Fantastic waterfalls to swim at and lovely Monsoon forests. Enjoyable day, highly recommend especially if your lucky enough to have Emily as the tour guide.

A great day out in Litchfield NP

I had a great day out with Yvonne, who was a chatty, knowledgable and friendly guide. The day was well paced and we had a good period of time at each stop. The small group was also very enjoyable and the smaller bus enabled us to visit places unavailable to larger vehicles. I was very disappointed that the Crocodile Cruise was cancelled. However, this wasn’t Offroad Dreaming’s fault and they were very good about it and offered an alternative trip.

Fun and engaging tour...low stress.

Just as professional and knowledgable as the kakadu tour. The only let down, the croc cruise operator cancelled without notifying the tour operator. So lost that opportunity. But the swimming holes made up for it. As I said in another post, ditch the cattle car operators in favor of these folks. More personal and down to business...your fun.

Excellent tour

Excellent from start to finish. Our guide/driver was very interesting and knowledgeable and anticipated our needs, catering for everything. The tour of various spots in Litchfield was wonderful and the ‘jumping crocs’ cruise was beyond expectations. We thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful waterfalls, great guide!

Mariette was a fabulous guide and we were able to see Tolmer Falls as a bonus as well as Florence Falls, Buley Rockholes and Wangi Falls. A great day trip from Darwin.

Worth every penny

So fun!! The walks to the falls were easy enough for the older folks with is, the views themselves were unparalleled, and no spoilers for the river cruise tour, but super fun! The tour guides were very kind and professional as well!

Brilliant trip

Great day out with some fantastic pools to have a swim in, superb driver and she was very friendly and great knowledge of areas we visited, lovely lunch and superb croc boat adventure to finish it off with !!

Small Group Tour to Litchfield from Darwin City

Fantastic tour to make the most out of your day in Litchfield. We went to 3 waterfalls and did a jumping croc tour. Had a great guide, Annie who was very knowledgeable and I loved her connection to the indigenous community and culture. If you like a small group tour, this company is an awesome option.

Great day trip with waterfalls, swimming holes and crocs

What an interesting day with Off-road Dreaming’s Litchfield National Park day tour from Darwin. Our guide Mareeta guided us really well, with lots of background information to build our understanding of this unique part of Australia. Pick up was ton time from my Darwin hotel which set the tone for a long day that ran to clockwork. The termite mounds as we entered Litchfield were great to see, and across the next few hours visits to Florence Falls, Buley Rock Hole and Wangi Falls revealed the most beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes. Mareeta prepared a fresh healthy meal of wraps and multiple fillings at Buley which hit the spot after swimming. Finishing the afternoon off with a crocodile tour on the Adelaide River with Rex from Croc Spot Tours saw us up close and personal with these apex predators. Great day all round. Highly recommended.

Amazing day out. Ann was a good driver and very knowledgeable. Lunch was nice. All the locations were amazing. Rex was a real character and loves his crocs.

A great and interesting day with our excellent driver/guide, Annie. It was a long day including a "close encounter" crocodile cruise with Croc Spot Tours which was a real experience.

Ripper day to Litchfield and Adelaide River

Great day from Darwin to Litchfield National Park with Off - Road Dreaming capped off with one hour on the Adelaide River seeing massive crocodiles up very close. Rex the guide on the boat is a character with fantastic knowledge of the crocodiles with names given to each Three watering holes in Litchfield with opportunity to go on walks if swimming not your choice. Off Road Dreaming guide Margurette is a ripper with great local knowledge and a love for the Park and the NT

Adventure filled day!

We had a brilliant day with Annie from Off Road Dreaming. The bus was comfortable, there was plenty of food.and water and every stop was beautiful! 10/10!

A fantastic day to Litchfield and back wow, so much is packed in. Termite mounds, swimming holes Florence and Buley Rockhole , simple but yummy lunch, snacks, crocodile jumping with Rex, it was a great day. our guide Mariet was so informative, friendly ten out of ten. Highly Recommended.

A Must when visiting Darwin!!

This tour I would recommend to everyone. It was so much more than I anticipated. The tour guide Yvonne was fantastic! We did so much in one day. Lunch was also amazing after we had been swimming at one of the 3 water pool. The highlight to end the day was the Crocodile Cruise, they are huge and so close...........truly amazing. If you're going to Darwin do not miss out, it's a must to go on the Litchfield Day Tour with Offroad Dreaming.

Fabulous, action packed day!

The tour was amazing, visited three beautiful water holes including a lovely rainforest walk and were provided with snacks and lunch, yum and water on tap! Yvonne, tour guide was the best, relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Croc cruise was sensational, so exciting and scary with crocs exceeding 5 metres in length being fed right next to our boat. Exciting, exilerating but felt safe the whole time. Rex, our guide was very safety aware and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!

Perfect introduction to the Darwin region

Loved every minute of the trip - a perfect mix of learning about the area, swimming under spectacular waterfalls, eating and being both terrified and fascinated by the croc tour. I particularly appreciated the acknowledgement of the traditional owners and their knowledge. Too many 'tourist' trips miss out the rich history of indigenous Australians and their knowledge of the land, sea and country. I was thinking about going to Kakadu but because of a lack of time, the one day tour to Litchfield worked for me. Given I'm a visitor, I would rather go to these places with a guide than go in to unchartered territory on my own. Phil was an awesome guide and host. I got picked up and dropped off outside the place I was staying. I totally recommend the one-day tour if you're new to the area and want a rich introduction to the region.

Did the Lichfield National Park Day Your - Waterfalls, Croc Cruise & Buley Rockhole. Was a fantastic day, Small tour group - maximum around 20. Yvonne our guide was absolutely brilliant and very very informative, knowledgeable and good fun. Lunch was great and great opportunity to visit and swim in some beautiful spots. Rex from @croc_spot_tours was also very interesting and knowledgeable and we spotted many crocodiles in the Adelaide river and they jumped for food! Great to watch!

Great taste of Litchfield

I went to Litchfield NP as part of my visit to Darwin. This trip is an ideal option for those travelling without a car. It’s a small group and you get to see nice features of the park. The trip was well designed in terms of swimming options and the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

You have to add this one to your list!

Awesome tour guide (thanks, Dan). Wonder experience. Better than expected. Swimming in the waterholes was a lifetime experience. Seeing the waterfalls was brilliant. Loved the small tour group. Thank you Rex for your awesome jumping croc tour.

great day trip

The groups aren't big, A very pleasant not overbearing guide, We had the ability and flexibility to walk some and modify the itinerary a little bit as long as we met the group at the right time. Lunch was fresh and thoughtful.

Pleasurable, beautiful & exciting

Small group tour whick was fantastic! Our driver was wonderful and super knowledgeable. Supplied lunch was delicious and plenty. The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful and great to cool off in and feel refreshed. The croc cruise at the end was so up close and quite a few came up for a feed. Couple over VERY big crocs in the Adelaide river. Stopped at the termite towers they are just crazy big and something to be seen.

Great tour!

Offroad Dreaming did a wonderful job. Neville was our guide-he provides great narrative. The itinerary made perfect use of the day. We toured the best spots of the park including fantastic water falls and rock art. The swim was a nice cool off. We were surprised how good the lunch was and the nice style it was served. The croc cruise was incredible, I could do this again!

Litchfield

It was a great day however not for someone with any mobility issues. The first stop I found very difficult to get back to the bus from the waterfall. If you are very fit a fantastic day, if not be aware.

Litchfield national park was an amazing experience, visited Howard springs, Buley Rockhole and Wangi waterfalls. Beautiful scenery. The highlight of the day was the jumping croc cruise. The tour guide was very informative, bubbly and friendly and really made our day. Phil is the best!

A 10 out of 10 experience

Norm was a enertaining and informative tour guide. The fun started the moment we got onto the bus and continued all day. There was ample food provided through out the day. Rex our jumping croc tour guide was awesome also and provided us with an unforgettable experience.

Best company in the NT

Cannot recommend this company highly enough. At short notice they organized a personal group day tour to the Kakadu National park and found space for us on a small group tour to Litchfield national park two days later. From hotel pick up to hotel drop off everything is taken care of. The food, snacks (ample throughout the day) and lunch spread was all well thought out. Having an ice filled water cooler to constantly refill your water bottle definitely was a huge plus. Our guides for both tours were exceptional, their level of knowledge and respect for the area was phenomenal. Our day your in Kakadu which was more personalized our guide Di got a feel for us straight away and made some adjustments to the itinerary to suit our needs. And Mariet our guide for Litchfield was fantastic, we never felt rushed and she did a great job of caring for all guests. Also a shout out to Steffi in the office who organized all this for us at such short notice. Next time we’re back in NT we will be using this company.

Wonderful

We arrived into an extraordinary place full of waterfalls , paths in the woods , nature all around us . Keith gave us incredible informations over everything and was marvellous to share his knowledge with us . Lunch was great all together . Then , we had an incredible cruise on the Adelaide River in the middle of Salties . First encounter we had was memorable with a giant jumpin' croc . Don't miss it . Great trip! Lovely spots to swim and beautiful! Crocodile cruise was amazing! Unable to swim at Wamby Falls due to croc attack the day before but beautiful spot! Phil (our guide) was very funny and very knowledgeable.

It is a long day to Litchfield and back but wow! so much is packed in. Termite mounds, swimming holes, simple but yummy lunch, snacks, crocodile jumping. it was a great day. our guide Mariet was informative, friendly and ever so patient with some of our less punctual parties on the trip. ten out of ten

Great day out

A terrific day out. Our guide was excellent offering an interesting and relevant commentary on the journey to the National Park. The park itself and in particular the waterholes we visited were stunning. Highly recommend this trip.

Great day out to beautiful Litchfield NP. Phil was a jolly and a very knowledgeable tour guide. Perfect lunch in a perfect place. Day was finalised with a jumping croc tour at Adelaide River with Croc Spot Tours. Some really big Crocs in the Adelaide River!! Great day out.

A Melbourne tourist’s reflection on Litchfield

Nathan is an enthusiastic and hardworking tour guide. He was in the water with us when swimming at the falls to protect us. The tour is ver educational. For the first time I see the mounds built by the termites and learn their social status. The highlight is the close experience with the crocodiles. Rex is such an expert on them. He knows them by their names and their territories. Our lives were in his hands. He did a great job, otherwise, I will not be telling you this now.

Excellent day exploring Litchfield NP and Adelaide River. Our tour guide Nate was excellent - knowledgeable, communicated well, provided excellent healthy lunch/snacks, drove in safe manner. Spent a good amount of time at each location. Adelaide River cruise late in the arvo, fabulous, saw plenty of crocs!

Interesting tour! The swimming holes were beautiful but a bit busy during school holidays. Thermites mounts were interesting and so was the jumping crocodile cruise with Rex. Rex is very knowledgeable and passionate. Phil, the tour guide from Off Road Dreaming is a happy guy and a bit of a character!

Excellent tour of the national park. Commentary all the way, telling us the local knowledge and First Nations connection to the land. Stopped at all the main attractions and swam in our own private spot, as recommended by Robert (our guide for the day). Great set up for lunch, we didn’t feel rushed at all during the day.
