Litchfield & Berry springs tour

Litchfield park and Berry springs was a unique experience, full of wildlife and amazing scenery. The lagoons at Berry springs were beautifully warm and full of fish - an incredible swimming experience. The tour guide, Carl, was full of useful information and the his commentary was never dull. The catering was great, my veggie salad was enormous and really tasty. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Definitely a must do!

An informative and hugely enjoyable day! Great swimming holes and the (home made) food provided was delicious. Steve our guide knew lots about the area and the history of the NT in general. A special thank you for the short diversion for us to catch up with friends.

Beyond expectations

Great experience booking Rob was very helpful. Tour was superb with Carl our guide having excellent commentary .lunchtime spot was a gem and the homemade food done by Michelle was delicious as it was all day. Thanks 👍👍👍

Day with Ethical Adventures

Awesome day out in Litchfield, jump aboard!

Fantastic day trip to Litchfield with Karl. LOVED swimming/floating down the thermal stream before the crowds! Mango muffins and a selection of teas, coffee, even Milo afterwards was a great treat! Karl was informative with great info and stories. Walking the loop trail at Wangi Falls was a great energy burst to be met with the freshest apples, mandarins and/or oat bars afterwards for the effort. Sitting by the wetlands to eat the most incredibly indulgent salad that I could only dream of making was divine! Wow! Sounds like it was all food 😂 we walked 12,000 steps over the day which I Loved about it! Our next stop was the beautiful swimming hole and waterfalls at Florence walls, it was pretty deep with some rocks to grab at the sides or a few to stand on, a few people had pool noodles here and if there was only one thing to add to your tour it would be that for some security for unsure swimmers to enjoy this refreshing place. Next stop were the termite mounds which were extraordinary, finishing of Ives tea and home made Anzac biscuits, then ice poles, seriously you guys have thought of everything! Frozen towels for cooling and all the treats plus icy water to replenish our bottles. We had great company for the trip and highly recommend your company! I was texted personally the day before and questions were promptly answered and I also had numerous reminder texts from trip advisor which was awesome. Thanks Karl, Rob and Tracey. Bravo 👏🏻

A great experience .

We loved Carl’s very informative and open commentary . The stops during the day were well planned , with time for swimming and sight seeing . Lunch , morning and afternoon tea were thoughtful and perfect . A great day and we would highly recommend Ethical Adventures. Mark & Sue

Wonderful experience

Wonderful experience. Small group, comfortable vehicle with great lunch and snacks. Rob our guide/owner was very knowledgeable and we had some great chats. The little things like icy poles, appropriate snacks and frozen towel to cool Off after a walk all helped make it a memorable day. We would highly recommend this trip

Enjoyable tour

I have just done this Litchfield tour and would definitely recommend. This was a small group tour of 9 people led by Carl who did an excellent job of commentary and organizing the day. No sector was too long and there were homemade refreshments along the way. The chicken salad for lunch was excellent, all served in individual containers and being kept cold. There was sufficient time at all stops for swimming and sightseeing. The tour started about 7.00am and finished at about 5.00pm.

Personalised small group tour with attention to details

Wonderful small personalised day trip to the beautiful and spectacular Litchfield NP. Guide Karl gave our small group of 4 a most informative tour serving home made muffins and good coffee for morning tea with a substantial lunch. Plenty of attention to detail with refreshing iced washers and iceblocks throughout the hot day. Swimming in the waterholes a highlight. Our vehicle was of the latest and highest standards, well appointed for additional comfort. Much appreciated .

Not To Be Missed

The Lichfield Park day tour provided by owner-operators Rob and Tracey was fantastic from start to finish. It was informative, immersive and thought-provoking. An opportunity to experience the diversity and natural wonders of the park, such as swimming at Florence Falls, is too good to miss. The homemade treats of mango muffins and Anzac biscuits were delicious, particularly appreciated by a self-appointed Anzac biscuit connoisseur. Great tour guide, so well looked after, everything provided. We were lucky to get out as there had been a bad storm the day before so special attention had to be carried out with regards to the Salties!!

Eco-touring at its best

If you’re wanting a premium day tour of the Litchfield area, this is the tour to go on. The small group size means that it’s personal and personalised in a way that’s not possible for larger tour groups, and the guide has a number of tricks up their sleeve to get to the best areas while avoiding crowds. Speaking of the guide, our guide Rob was friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, articulate and helpful. This is eco-touring at its very best — highly recommended!

5 star tour

Daz was the ultimate tour guide! What a wonderful day, lots of interesting little tid bits of local knowledge, a relaxed feel and a few good jokes to make the day fun. Plenty of time to relax and enjoy the stops and swim along the way. Lunch was beautiful and we were all so well taken care of.

Don’t Miss This !

Our choice of tour to Litchfield National Park was made on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews. It was evident that Ethical Adventures was a more costly option yet the prospect of a smaller tour group and more quality experience was worth it. We were not disappointed. Carl as our driver, guide was much more. Our host and entertainment worked with the owners to make it an experience unforgettable. Every need was anticipated and every opportunity to spoil us in little ways was afforded. The warm home made mango muffins, the fruit ice treats provided following a hot and brief trek up the hill from the rock pools. Lunch of chicken, avocado, brie, cranberry and greens salad is among the best I’ve ever had. Iced tea, flavoured mineral water, comfortable air conditioned minibus and the raconteurish story telling of Carl made for such an enjoyable day. The three swimming spots selected were just stunning and the pace of the day never seemed rushed nor laboured. Carl shares some very funny stories and his larrikin observations about some of the crazy NT infrastructure decisions were priceless. This was the best value for money tour experience we’ve had in years. We generally don’t like structured touring but the owners through Carl made it like we were hosted by generous and caring friends. Donna and Rowan

Berry Springs, Litchfield Pk

What an awesome way to start the tour. Swimming at Berry Springs. Seeing wildlife and plenty of fish. Our guide Daz made the experience even better with his knowledge of Litchfield and his regular dad jokes. He also went above and beyond for our anniversary by singing an Elvis song. Due to the smaller number of guests, it allowed more time and less rush to return to the bus. The stops were perfect by making sure we went to less crowded areas. I could rave on about the whole day but I think it’s something I recommend highly to do yourself. Thanks for a great day of memories👍🏼

Excellent small group day tour to Lichfield.

Brilliant day out in Lichfield National Park. Our guide was Daz who was a fountain of knowledge on the flora, fauna and history of the park. We visited 3 waterfall/swimming areas which were all amazing. Saw birds, bats, lizards but no crocs! Daz provided us with tea, coffee, water, home made Anzac cookies and muffins throughout the trip. And also a delicious chicken salad lunch with seeds and berries . A very relaxed day but we still covered a lot of ground. I highly recommend this trip.

Amazing day out!

Had the most amazing day out in Litchfield Park with Ethical Adventures and tour guide Daz who was very informative and humorous. Highly recommend this tour. Swam at three beautiful waterfalls/pools, visited termite mounds and Banyan tree bar. Lovely fresh lunch and snacks throughout the day. Loved the small group size. Daz was the best fun and best tour guide in the NT. Thanks for a fabulous day Daz!

Good Times

Wonderful new bus, personable and well informed guide, 11/10 for the in-house prepared chicken and salad lunch (possibly the best I’ve tasted). Just perfect Ethical Adventures Team, you’re right on the money. See you next time in the NT.

Tasty treats with Top End delights

What a wonderful day spent with a small group of likeminded travellers visiting beautiful Litchfield NP. Carl our driver was informative and knowledgeable about a wide range of top end issues. Tracey’s muffins, and the substantial and very tasty salad lunch exceeded my expectations.

Brilliant day at Litchfield NP

The tour was amazing we visited four waterfalls, swimming in three of them. Dazza our guide was great 👍. Informative, interactive and passionate about Litchfield NP and the top end. Loved our swim at Berry falls at 8:00am in the hot springs with no one else there. Food was great, lovely lunch under the trees at Tabletop swamp . Yea , coffee, water , sunscreen etc available throughout the trip. Loved our final stop at the Banyan Tree resort/pub at Rum Jungle for a coldie on the way home. Great day that show cased Litchfield that was made even more memorable by Dazza!

Relaxing day out

Lovely day trip to the best of Litchfield. Daz our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. The food was delicious … thanks. Not too much walking involved… my step count got to 7,400 but it could have been less if I’d had a swim at Wangi falls instead of going to the tree top platform.

Litchfield National Park one day tour

One hundred percent to Dazza who was our bus and tour guide for our one day Litchfield National Park tour. It felt like a bespoke tour with Dazza’s commentary informative and humorous. For those wanting to kick back and enjoy a small group tour , this is so worth doing! Thanks again Daz!

Excellent!

We booked the Litchfield Wanderer day tour and were very pleased. Rob, owner and guide, was an excellent host. Berry Springs was a fun start to the day and it was smooth sailing from there. Rob’s tips on where to walk (and what direction!) we’re invaluable. The snacks and lunch were VERY good. Overall, no complaints and a very worthwhile day trip.

Small group tours like this are the best.

Incredible experience in the beautiful Litchfield National park. We researched many tours and this one had the best reviews and now we know why. Our guide Karl was very knowledgeable, friendly and ran the tour so smoothly. The swimming was refreshing and we spent the perfect amount of time at each stop. The small group nature of this trip made it so much better than the big tour buses. The food was so delicious with homemade muffins, fresh salads and treats along the way. Loved this trip and highly recommend it for a wonderful day out exploring the national park.

Colours of Kakadu & Litchfield Park both 5 Star NT Tours

We were hosted by Rob who was great and a fountain of knowledge, there was only 7 of us which was very comfortable and easy. The salad lunch was really special and we believe this was one of the best tours we have done along with the Ethical Adventures 2 Day Colours of Kakadu Tour again with Rob hosting as well. Totally recommend both these tours!

Topexperience in the Top End

A top class experience. We saw so much in one day, getting to Berry Springs early ensured a quiet and special swim in beautifully temperate waters. Goggles were thoughtfully provided which enabled us to see the fish life. Our guide Nalani was very knowledgeable about the local environments and natural history. We learnt so much from her commentary and informal chat. Constant supply of quality food, drinks and comfort items such as chilled towels and ice blocks on a warm day went beyond our expectations. A trip worth doing with a reputable company!

Fantastic Day

Great day was had buy 6 of us Visited Berry Springs which was a great opportunity to swim in some warm thermal water. Wonderful homemade Mango muffins for morning tea then on to the Termite Mounds followed by Tolma Falls Magnificent photo opportunity of the falls Lunch at a local billibong was amazing. Chicken Salad mate by the owners Absolutely delicious. Then on to Wangi Falls for a lovely swim under the falls. Karl out guide was so knowledgeable about the area he was a joy to be around. Great day trip to this special place

From the morning pickup to the afternoon drop off, this day trip to Litchfield Park is nothing short of 5 stars. We were lucky enough to have Rob who is also the owner and he is a star. Clean comfortable vehicle for the trip to Litchfield. Lunch was super fresh and super tasty & at the lunch spot we were encouraged to sit quietly and to just take it all in. The early start meant we got to one of the swimming spots before the crowds and Rob was an entertaining and informative guide. Highly recommend this trip with a small group, thanks Rob for a great day in this truly special place.

A magic day in the NT

Katie took us on an awesome discovery of waterfalls, swimming pools and bird and flower infested swamps! A photographer’s paradise 😄 This was interspersed with delicious homemade muffins and Anzac biscuits for morning and afternoon tea, and a mouthwatering salad for lunch 😋…a magic day 🌟

Outstanding Litchfield Day Tour

Excellent tour with knowledgeable tour guide(s). Pick up at 7 am and home by 4 pm. Loved Litchfield National Park with pretty walks, lovely waterfalls and beautiful pools for swimming. Guides give you ample time to explore each stop. Excellent food with morning and afternoon tea and best lunch ever (chicken, green salad and fruit). Enjoyed learning about the history and ecology of the park and NT. Highly recommend!!

Fabulous day in Litchfield

Our guide for the day, Nelani, was fantastic - so knowledgeable and passionate about the area and its flora and fauna. We got to see all the main scenic spots (Wangi, Florence, Tolmer etc), and went to a stunning, quiet and croc safe spot for some swimming and the most delicious lunch. The care the team took to ensure dietary requirements (and even dietary preferences for kids) were met was phenomenal. Also loved the flexibility of the tour which meant people could decide if they wanted to do optional walks (which we did). Would definitely recommend !

A Great NT Experience.

If I could, I’d add an extra star to this tour. It lived up to my expectations totally. Rob curates the experiences perfectly based on the day and the people on the bus. He kept up the conversation as we drove out of Darwin providing interesting information. He helped the 8 of us (3 couples, 2 solo) to get to know each other. He has such amazing knowledge of the area - flora, fauna, history, what can be done and when the best time is to do it to avoid the crowds. I would imagine you could do the same Ethical Adventures Tour several times and have a different positive experience each time. Would have loved a few more swims but knew before I booked that April is still a bit off season. Not all swimming areas had been checked by park rangers.

Highly recommended

We loved our trip to Litchfield. Guided by Rob we had the most wonderful time exploring the natur. Rob was very informativ and told us so much things about Australia, the regions we drove through and so much more! Lunch was also really tasty, even as we asked for some vegetarian meal. We couldn't ask for more and highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to spent an exciting and beautiful day.

Value added Litchfield!

We contacted Rob as the result of a referral when planning our adult family, wet season trip, to the Darwin, Kakadu and Litchfield. We specifically wanted a knowledgeable local guide to share their experience and to maximise the limited time we had available. He recommended a flexible approach to the day given there was no guarantee re which sights would be open. Our day started with an 8am pickup from Litchfield Tourist Park and a lively chat about the potential threats to the park from.mining exploration, tourism and sustainability of this beautiful landscape for.the future. It was clear from the getgo that Rob is a passionate advocate for this part of the world. We arrived at the Cascades and preceded our hike with some wonderful home made mango muffins and coffee to fuel our aprrox 2hour hike into the bush. The diversity in the landscape, glimpses of local wild life, and stream swimming was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole group. Rob gave us insightful, informative and entertaining commentary the whole way. He was also extremely supportive of the variation in levels of fitness and mobility within the group. After the Cascades we went on to Wangi Falls and stopped for a delicious home made salad lunch at the base of a wetland area. Plenty of water top ups were also available to keep us hydrated. After lunch we stopped for another refreshing swim at Florence falls. The final stop and afternoon tea of homemade anzac biscuts was at the termite mounds, a surreal sight with the backdrop of black rain clouds rolling in. We got back to camp at about 4.30 having had the best day. Rob is fabulous bloke and kept us entertained, informed and well fed & watered. Our day was significantly enhanced by having him on board. Added value to our trip without doubt!

A must-do in the NT!

Ethical Adventures and it’s owner/tour guide Rob showed us Kakadu and Litchfield in style. Small groups travelling in his well equipped, comfortable vehicle made our 2 day Kakadu and 1 day in Litchfield a joy. Rob’s passion for the Top End is infectious and his knowledge of the environment and it’s challenges was shared with his wonderful enthusiasm on his home turf. The homemade treats along the way were the icing on the cake!

Litchfield Day trip

This was a wonderful day exploring just a snippet of what Litchfield has to offer. I loved swimming in the fresh water of Berry Springs, Wangi Falls and Buley Rockholes. It was incredibly well organised and catered. Kate our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and caring. The food was delicious and plentiful and nice and COLD! Ethical adventures just do a little bit extra to make the tour more enjoyable and memorable.

Don't leave NT without doing this tour

We did a fantastic one day trip to Berry Springs and Litchfield Park with Rob. His knowledge of the flora and fauna as well as the history, culture and politics of the area were excellent. Rob was so easy to talk to, always had our safety in mind and we particularly appreciated that he and his wife catered for all our different dietary needs. The warm home made mango muffins and ANZAC biscuits for morning and afternoon tea as well as the salads for lunch were delicious. I cannot recommend Ethical Adventures highly enough.

In our TOP 3!

Of all the tours we've done, this one is easily in our top three. Yes, Rob, I said it would be in our top 5, but that wasn't good enough. Highly recommended - the only way to see Litchfield - even when we had previously lived in the N.T. for 4 years. Lunch was amazing - I've not eaten a better chicken/salad ever - better than restaurant quality. It was the perfect time of the year to do this as there had been rainfall during the last few weeks to green things up after the burning that happens in the peak period around June/July. Will definately do this again, perhaps as early as March. Rob enjoys his "office" and it shows. Nothing was too much trouble for him. It was fabulous AAA+++

Small group like this is the perfect size

Very fun day trip to Litchfield. Rob is enthusiastic, cheerful, and knowledgeable, as well as professional and safe. He made the extra effort to optimize the experience, such as accomodating dietary needs (delicious), having us rotate seats in order to get to know each other better, and making sure that each of us had options at every site: hike vs. swim, etc. He knows the area well and had back-up plans for when the weather turned. Nevertheless, it was warm enough to spend the whole day in a bathing suit rather than changing clothes before and after each swim. Even if you don't plan on swimming, you might change your mind when you see how inviting the water is, so best to wear a bathing suit. Towels and goggles were provided, but bringing an extra towel to sit on is a good idea. Reef walkers or similar footwear would be good if you have them, but they're not required.

Fabulous

Loved this trip from start to finish. Rob is a passionate environmentalist . He was friendly from the get go and encouraged us to change seats there by getting to know others and as such we have made new friends. Berry springs was amazing then onto Wangi Falls. Throughly enjoyed these beautiful places and time spent there was ample. Rob is a wealth of knowledge but also funny. Although it rained and rest of day didn’t go quite to plan we Rob was able to find alternatives. We lunched under shelter and food was fresh and flavoursome. Unscheduled stop to learn about Zebra stone was another highlight. Would highly recommend this small group tour. We had a wonderful day.

Amazing life memorable experience

Wow - what an amazing time we have had in such a short period of time. Thank you to Ethical Adventurers and our guide Nalani and Rob’s team for taking up up overnight to Kakadu (and short sights of Arnhem Land). Mind blowing experience. We then went on a second tour with Rob to Litchfield National Park and surrounding areas. What a fantastic day. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 16 and 13. We all had the most spectacular time and definitely the most memorable and meaningful family holidays we have ever had.
