Great for bird watching

Lovely relaxed tour of Fogg Dam heaps of birdlife just gorgeous. We had a lovely warm balmy night while watching the birds. Took some great photos.

Amazing Spot

Geoff led a fantastic tour. It was so personalised. He stopped whenever we saw something of interest. I saw so much amazing wildlife. It was a highlight of my trip to Darwin and I would highly recommend it to anyone heading to the NT.

Best Tour Guide in Darwin

We had a fantastic time in Darwin with Look About Tours. Nothing was too much trouble for Geoff, who went over & above to ensure our holiday was one to remember. It was a lovely relaxed pace and we still got to see and do so much. We had amazing immersive experiences tailored to everyone in our group, aged from 16 to 80! Excellent tour

Our tour guide was exceptional with a good knowledge of the area and its bird life. Dinner was great at the Humpty Doo Hotel. Would highly recommend and plan to go again in the future.

Great nature and senil views and a charming pub with good food/drinks

A perfect 5-6 hours at Fogg Dam and Humpty Doo. The Nature and wildlife at the Dam was fantastic and the sunset was right up there. A little group of people with a local guide who makes sure everybody has a good time. Lots of info on Darwin and a great guide to be with. The Humpty Doo has great food and beers and has the top END charm. A great time and value for money. The Vikings

Bird life

The birds on the dam. It was magical seeing them at dusk. The egrets and herons were beautiful and Geoff gave a great commentary

Our tour host was very friendly and knowledgeable about Darwin and its history. Geoff was very accomadating with my mum who is not a good walker. I loved Fogg Dam and Humpty Doo hotel. Meeting some of NT local wildlife was fantastic. I highly recommend having a tour with Geoff and his team from LookAbout tours.

Fantastic evening chasing Australian wildlife. Like stepping into the pages of National Geographic

I had a great evening chasing Australian wildlife at Fogg Dam with Geoff. He picked me up right on time and off we went to see everything from wallabies and spoonbills to black-necked storks (locally called jabirus) and magnetic termites. The photos attached to this review were taken that evening. Geoff is extremely knowledgeable about Fogg Dam as he very clearly spends a lot of personal time there. He isn't a guide reading from a guidebook, but rather a guide who knows other regulars there by name and has favourite spots along the dam for seeing certain things. He knows when a new island has formed in the marsh or the times of day or year when certain creatures are easiest to spot. We spent until sunset scanning the waters of Fogg Dam for birds, lizards, crocs, and marsupials and then went to eat some tasty steaks at the Humpty Doo Hotel. He knows a lot about the rest of Australia and is a great conversationalist, so we stayed well into the night discussing the other great nature opportunities Australia has to offer. This tour is a ton of fun!

Great birds and other animals watching trip

the views were beautiful . Geoff our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out many species of animals and plants. So many different birds! We took many pictures. No crocodile showed up for us but we saw so many other things we didn't miss it The experience was greatly enhanced by Geoff's expertise and friendly disposition

A relaxing, fun afternoon in a stunning environment.

I loved this trip to the Top End paradise. The scenery was stunning. It was a few hours of being immersed in the NT unique environment. Geoff was personable, knowledgeable and committed that everyone have the experience be great. It was.

Our guide, Geoff was so lovely and full of information. It was a really great few hours and saw so much bird and wildlife. Dinner at the Humpty Doo hotel was very good. The Humpty Doo lager went down very well. Definitely recommend this tour!!

Great wetlands

Loved the tour was so pleasant to travel through the wetlands looking at different wildlife. Geoff does a great job and is really friendly. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys nature.

Top End - Top Tour!

The tour was interesting, picturesque. Geoff is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, energetic. Our afternoon trip to Darwin's East Point, then Fogg Dam wetlands was full of historical information and anecdotes as well as bird and scenic photography opportunities. Up close to magnetic termite mounds was amazing. Conversation over dinner at historic Humpty Doo pub continued unabated. An absolutely wonderful experience from every aspect.

What a great little trip to do before the redeye back to Melbourne. Geoff’s knowledge of birds and local area is amazing. As a solo traveler it was great to engage in great conversation over an amazing meal at humpty doo pub. I would do this tour again

Wonderful Sunset Tour of the Wetlands

A must do tour. Geoff made us feel so welcome and very knowledgeable with lots of great stories. A wonderful time of the day for a tour to appreciate the magnificent wildlife and sunset. We really appreciated that Geoff took the time to take amazing photos of what we saw which he forwarded to us the following day. Memories to keep for ever.

FANTASTIC TOUR

We took the Fogg dam / Humpty Doo hotel tour in late September. What can I say , it was very enjoyable. Geoff our tour guide was terrific. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job . He also sent us some great photos . We also had a delicious meal at the Humpty doo Hotel .We Highly recommend anyone visiting Darwin to take this amazing tour.

Relaxed, informative sunset tour of the wetlands

Thanks Geoff for a taste of the amazing wildlife of Fogg Dam Reserve. The sunset, birdlife and watching Dennis the resident croc was a highlight of my trip. Great company in a relaxed, personalised tour. Can highly recommend, especially with photos sent the next day so I could just soak it all in.

Fabulous afternoon and sunset

What an unforgettable tour! It was my first tour in Darwin and it turned out to be the best of all. Geoff was fantastic with lots of humour and knowledge about the area. I was extremely lucky in having the tour all to myself and Geoff was very generous with taking photos for me. The landscape, birds and animals was simply wonderful and the sunset over Fogg Dam was sensational. The meal at the hotel was delicious and a huge serving, make sure you're hungry! Superb afternoon

What an excellent way to spend an afternoon. Geoff was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Fogg Dam was absolutely beautiful at sunset, there was so much to take in. The birds, buffalo, croc, what an afternoon! Dinner at Humpty Doo was delicious with the best mushroom gravy I’ve ever had. I had a wonderful time, thank you Geoff.

Fog Dam Wetlands and Humpty Doo pub

Geoff arrived early and gave me a solo tour. What an incredibly well informed and knowledgeable and engaging guide and gracious host. The best tour I’ve done for many years and I strongly encourage visitors to put his tour first on their ‘must do’ list while in Darwin.

Wonderful experience not to be missed!

This is a new business just started by Geoff and his wife. It’s one of the best wildlife tours I have ever been on - the most amazing creatures in a beautiful peaceful setting with a knowledgeable commentary and a real insight into the local area. The crocodile sighting was unforgettable. The Humpty Doo Hotel is also a great experience of a real Australian pub - just be prepared for enormous portions!

Geoff & his tour were amazing.

We were so happy & felt so privileged to be part of a friendly group onboard with Geoff as we took the 'Sunset Fogg Dam' tour. Geoff was so informative, his knowledge of the area as well as the local flora & fauna was fantastic. We saw such an array of Birdlife, Wallabies, Buffalo & even a Darwin Crocodile. The tour just kept giving as the sun set across the Lilly pads & we set off back towards the famous & iconic 'Humpty Doo Hotel'. Here we were treated to a great choice of food, generous servings & cold drinks amongst a fabulous atmosphere. We would highly recommend taking this tour when in Darwin.
