Private Tour Knossos Palace-Archaeological Museum-Heraklion Town

Remarkable ancient culture, brought to life by a terrific guide!

Our driver was on time and waiting for us after we got off the ship. It was a long drive to Knossos, but he made it in excellent time, and it was very comfortable. Our guide, named Sophie, was excellent! She met us where the driver dropped us off, and took us to the Knossos museum. We spent several hours there, and she explained things in great detail, and it was all fascinating. After that, we went to the site if Knossos itself, where she continue to show us the remarkable culture of the Minoans. It’s such an old and fascinating story – the Minoans. And Sophie did a wonderful job of re-creating the world that they lived in. It was a wonderful experience.

Guided tour

Amazing place to visit, we had a guide who explained a great deal to us over the couple of hours we were on site. There is a toilet before the main entrance where you scan your ticket and then none once you are inside. The queue for the stone throne which was originally interpreted as king Minos throne is quite long and so if it is busy its worth going straight here (we waited around 20 minutes to see the room) This is a fascinating place to visit.

Amazing Personal Guided Tour

Grigorios, our guide, was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Our driver was also very friendly and punctual. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone interested in receiving an in depth look at the landscape, artifacts and history of Knossos Palace and the Minoan Culture. We toured Knossos, visited the museum and spent time in the beautiful city of Heraklion where we were able to explore cafes and shops at our leisure. I cannot say enough good things about this experience.

Onore ai padri della nostra civiltà!

L'arrivo è un po' scoraggiante in quanto il parcheggio è libero, così i pullman occupano il posto riservato alle auto e viceversa e di conseguenza occorre un po' di tempo per orientarsi e capire come funziona, C' è quasi sempre la fila per fare il biglietto d'ingresso, ma alcune guide che parlano tutte le lingue vi offriranno di saltare la fila e pagare per far parte di un gruppo guidato. Sinceramente ho trovato l'offerta un po' esosa e di conseguenza l'ho rifiutata. Una volta entrati, affidatevi al vostro fiuto: se siete venuti fin qua, sicuramente conoscerete Roma e Pompei, oppure Paestum e Agrigento. La differenza non da poco è che qui stiamo parlando di una civiltà che ha preceduto quelle succitate di qualche millennio. Da qui bisogna partire e qui bisogna venire come per onorare l'eredità dei padri fondatori della civiltà occidentale. Nel merito la cosa più interessante da vedere è la sala del trono con affreschi portentosi e mirabili, ma riservatevi per ammirarli al meglio una visita al Museo archeologico di Heraklion

Os dois são vendidos juntos e são sensacionais. Enfrentei fila para comprar e encontrei uma guia em espanhol enquanto a fila andava en Knossos que explicou bem as ruínas. O museu não há necessidade. Localizado no centro da cidade, tem tudo explicado em inglês e a visita completapode levar mais de 3 horas.

Meraviglioso

La seconda volta in sei mesi che lo visito. È un sito archeologico molto bello, un po’ difficile da visitare per persone con difficoltà di Mobilitá. Scavi e resti discretamente conservati. Stavolta ho preso una guida che parlava in ottimo italiano (sig.ra Irene). Vale la pena visitarlo.
