Wonderful guide

Bob was our guide. He was very engaging and knowledgeable. There was a lot of content, delivered in an entertaining way and Bob was able to answer all of our questions. We really enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering a tour.

Engage with history

Dave was punctual and friendly. We joined a group of 9 in total, so it was easy to hear him and follow him in the crowded streets. He was entertaining and knowledgeable and read our group's interests well. He patiently answered questions and added all sorts of interesting stories. Some he admitted were legend, but most were true. I highly recommend the tour and, if possible, ask for David as your guide.

Great 90 minutes!

Canterbury Tour. Very good, interesting tour, stories very clearly heard in spite of street noise! Added bonus for tour ticket holders is a discounted admission to the Canterbury Roman museum.

As we always do when we take these walking tours, we learned a lot about the historic city area that we would not have learned on our own.

Start with a walk

This was a good tour to start our short break with not fast walking a nice steady pace with some very interesting facts , it takes you round the outside of the cathedral and down the high street.

Extraordinary walking tour

Our guide was knowledgeable and greatly expanded our understanding of Canterbury's long history. She made the historical tour fascinating and humorous at times. She made an effort to make sure everyone could hear her. She took the time to answer questions and point out relevant sites for future exploration, i. e. tourist information, restrooms, places to eat, etc

Poor tour.

Lovely lady but kept forgetting the information she was trying to deliver unfortunately. We learned more about her family members and their achievements than Canterbury!

Our guide Lyndsey was fantastic so knowledgeable and gave us lots of time to ask questions but didn’t get bogged down in too much detail. She was witty and the tour informative. Best tour we have done in years

An informative wander around Canterbury

This was a really insightful tour with the amount of knowledge given being just about right. There is history at every turn and the guide we had was accredited with The South East England Tourist Guides Association (SEETGA). This really showed in their knowledge of each area and fascinating tidbits, well worth the money paid.

Canterbury tour led by a resident

Lindsey took us around Canterbury giving us insights into the different buildings. The highlight was when she recited Chaucer's opening lines in his Tales in Middle English. A very enthusistic guide.

Riveting and comprehensive walking tour of historical Canterbury

Jane was our guide and she was a fount of knowledge, sharing historical details about architecture, life, sewage (!), and more. We were never bored and felt like we got a real feel for Canterbury. Jane was funny and such a champ, as she had a cold and it was a cold, grey day. She didn't let that stop her and we were all the better for it. Thank you, Jane!

A place with so much history.

Having been to Canterbury on a couple of occasions, I thought it would be interesting to have a proper guided tour around the city, Arriving at the Cathedral gate and meeting with the tour guide and other visitors we were soon enjoying the rich history of Canterbury, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and kept us all engaged with her interesting insights into Canterbury folk history and buildings! We walked through the streets and were told about the each historic building and landmark, after about an hour and a half we were back to the Cathedral and into the grounds, here we were again all fascinated with the history of the building itself and how it was constructed over time, the many people who had inspired and influenced its history over the centuries. All in all a very well worth experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in Canterbury. Thank you.

Historical Canterbury guided by an expert.

What a wonderful tour. Really interesting and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, pointing out so many historical places in Canterbury that we would never have seen on our own. She guaranteed we would learn something new...and we did. We enjoyed it so much, we returned the next day to retrace many of our steps at leisure.

Bringing the history of Canterbury to life

Very well informed guide, an ex history teacher! Brought everything to life with knowledge and enthusiasm. It was only spoilt by the bitterly cold weather.

Disappointing . Not a walk but historical fact talk

We were disappointed with this trip. Advertised as a walk we barely covered 100 metres . It was a bitterly cold morning and Hugh our guide had loads of information but he did not react to the conditions and we stayed in a few stops for far too long . We could easily have walked from the cathedral to the bridge in 5 mins . We left the tour early after 90 mins to warm up. Hugh did not interact and did not welcome questions .
