Tour guide was awful and refused to take us to 4 places because they were late

First off they were 40 minutes late and no apology or nothing. Then we get in the car and we tell her the 4 places we are choosing from the list and she says no she will not take us there she will only take us to 3 places that she chooses. We went to the catacombs the fort and the pillar. We wanted the catacombs, library, museum , botanical garden. She then let us know she has us a lunch reservation. We get there and find out that she has pre selected our meal and then spoke arabic to the waiter when we asked for a menu to see the prices because she was telling us it was 30.00 a person and 5.00 a coke and if you have ever been to Egypt you know that is 200% more than you should be paying. They both refused and she told us it was the only place she would take us for lunch. She then refused to also let us see the bill because by then we have figured out we are buying hers and her husbands lunch, he is an intimidating guy so and we had to still get back to Cairo so we were stuck more or less. So to sum it up, she honored only 1 place of the booking and then stole her lunch from me. Avoid. Her name was Noura. Also she knew nothing about the 3 places she did take us and physically wasnt even capable for walking to the sites so we were just dropped off each time.

Beautiful city and tour

Amina was a wonderful tour guide. She was very honest and when some of our activities were not as expensive as other options, she let us know so we could add extra things. The only thing that I'm not sure how we missed on our research, was that there are zero bones in the catacombs besides a few in a display of horses. It was still very interesting and fascinating. We enjoyed the tour very much.

Amazing Trip to Alexandria from Cairo

This tour was the perfect way to begin our trip to Egypt. We were picked up at our hotel on time and we had both a driver (I’m sorry I forget your name!!!) and a qualified Egyptologist with us for the whole excursion. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Sharif! He was so passionate about Egyptian history and his country and answered any and all questions we had regarding our tour stops and Egyptian life in general. He was extremely knowledgeable and had no issues sharing information at every site we went to. He went above and beyond when it came to our requests and our embracing of ‘egyptian time’. Our stops: 1. Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa 2. Pompey’s Pillar 3. The Citadel of Qaitbay 4. Library of Alexandria We also stopped for an amazing lunch near the Citadel. Highly recommend this tour and can’t give enough stars for Sharif!

Great one day experience in alexandria

Very good option to visit Alexandria in one day. Driver picked me up . He didnt speak english but was very friendly and made everything to make me feel confortable. Tour guide very knowledgeable but not friendly and hard to communicate in english

Chalk one up for private tours!

I booked this trip last minute at the end of an Egypt trip with a major international touring company because they did not have enough people who wanted to extend their trip with an extra day to Alexandria. I can't say enough how Ahmed (driver) and Eslam (tour director) went out of their way to make sure that I had a wonderful experience. Compared to the "large touring company" guide, Eslam was every bit as informative and knowledgeable, and knew all the best spots to see, dine, grab a turkish coffee, and do so safely. Of the seven offerings, we visited the catacombs, Pompey's pillar, the Fort of Qaitbay, and we even went "off the list" to St Marks Coptic Church (at my special request). We also planned to go to the new Alexandria library, but by time we had seen all the above, and had lunch, it was closed. Lunch was at a wonderful seafood restaurant on the bayside called The Fishmarket. I give these guys a 10 out of 10! Really special day.

Not as advertised

No guide from beginning, just driver from Cairo to Alexandria. Old dirty car. No wifi as advertised. No drinks snacks as advertised. Driver was 30 minutes late and then stopped for petrol and to clean car. Guide rushed me around the sites and insisted it was a visit to 3 sites and not 4 as advertised. I insisted on the. 4 and got the 4. No general history on Alexandria joust explanations on sites visited. Do not recommend. 3rd terrible trip with Viator suppliers in Egypt.

Terrible Experience, I Do NOT Recommend

Stay away from this tour company. They are very low quality and a border-line scam. My tour guide was very friendly but had extremely limited English and to claim he was a "qualified Egyptologist" is an absolute joke. Then came the lunch situation. Lunch was not included on this tour. They took me to a tourist restaurant with a nice ocean view. I wasn't shown any kind of menu nor were prices discussed, they simply brought me a plate of food. It wasn't until after the meal I was informed that the price was $40USD which, if you have traveled in Egypt, you know is an exorbitant and outrageous amount for a single (very average) meal and is designed to scam you into simply giving them a big extra bonus. The whole experience left me feeling very upset and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

My complaint about this...

My complaint about this tour is that we did not get what was advertised on the Viator website. The description on the site is that you get to choose 4 activities from a list and entrance fees are included. It also says that lunch is included. The tour we got included only 3 activities and we were told of we wanted to do any more we had to pay the entrance fee. Also lunch was not included and we were taken to a restaurant where our guide arranged for a set meal for us. She then paid the bill and said we could reimburse her. We were told the cost was $30 per person which would be a very expensive lunch in Egypt. So we did not get what we thought we were paying for when we booked the tour.

WORST TOUR EVER

Tour stared bad as soon as the Tour Guide a professor in Egyptology (which is very impressive) could not be bother to talk to me for more than what’s your name and where you are from? And the continue to talk to the driver. This trip is a long 3 hours to Alexandria and the back, we stop at a service station he would not even explain anything so I end up getting my own coffee and water and had to wait for him and driver to finished their snacks to continue. First stop amphitheater he gave me a max 10 min explanation at the beginning and told me to go on my own have a look and take pics. Got in the car again for easily 30 min to the catacombs same thing and send me on my own down to the catacombs. As soon as I came out he said I don’t like Alexandria, he gave me his reasons, which I can understand but I did not pay that kind of money for a privet tour to have such q bad service because he could not be bother. Knowing this would not be a good one I asked to sleep all the other sides and take me to the citadel and Alexandria biblioteca. He showed me the citadel from about a Km away and then asked me if I just wanted to take pics of the biblioteca from outside! We went in and he could not be less bother about showing me anything. Left for Cairo earlier than expected, he continued to just talk to the driver and felt sleep for a while. I watch a movie on my phone for the journey. He then before jumping off the car asked for tips!! The nerve!! Contacted the main contact at the tour operator and they did not apologise and said that they would investigate. Do not take this tour!!!

Enjoyable experience

Tony is a friendly, knowledgeable and genuine tour guide. He told me lots of fascinating information. The driver was great too. I felt safe and welcome.

A beautiful day in Alexandria

we had a great day out today in Alalandria with Tony.I recommend this tour to everyone 😃we also enjoyed the Greek restaurant Athineos very nice food and staff.

More than we expected!

As a travel agent myself, I knew from my research into this trip and the recommendations of a few of my customers, that we could not come to Egypt and miss Alexandria. My friends and I booked this tour hoping we'd get a quick tour of Alexandria as it was not in the itinerary for the bigger extended tour we had previously booked for the rest of our trip. Boy oh boy, did we see more than was promised! Our Guide Hany, was unbelievably knowledgeable about the city and was very accommodating about the amount of time we wanted to spend in each of the four spots we visited. The lunch spot was fantastic, and we all walked away quite full, not needing to eat until late in Cairo that night. We had no idea that our tour also took us to Giza to learn how some of the most popular products in Egypt were made and we were blown away by the craftsmanship and quality of the products we bought, namely our essential oils, papyrus and metal work. I will definitely be booking this tour for my own clients in the future who wish to explore Alexandria and are short on time to stay longer in the city. Alexandria - A walking on sands of Time

To walk on the sands to time, close ones eyes even if to only imagine the daily rigmarole of folks back then (let alone the glorious confluence of Pharonic and Hellenistic civilizations of Alexandria) - is such an humbling experience. Hark to the whisperings of souls at Kom El Shoqfa catacombs, touch the mighty Mediterranean Sea, stand on the ramparts of Qaitbay and gaze into the blue waters - a day is not enough to take us back into aeons. One can only feel a tinge of pain seeing the manner in which these are cared for today. Our guides - Mary and Amir, were a joy to ride with. They did a fabulous job in sharing the richness of the ancient history, shielding us from hawkers and showing a trick or two. Mary followed up with us the day before, picked us right on time from our hotel and filled the car with water (small gesture but very important, given the heat and walking). Lunch of course was very exciting when Mary introduced us to Koshary (all veg). For the brave at heart skip the tomato sauce and go for the red stuff :) Our three disappointment though are 1. Not being to able to see more (as advertised) - but understandable. One cannot do more than 3 (tops 4) items on the list in a day - especially factoring drive to/from Cairo. Kids have this innate and unstoppable ability to soak things up and our 8 yr old (who is genuinely interested in ancient history, thanks Percy Jackson) was NOT happy when the tour ended and kept saying 'but there are 7 items on the list - we GOT to do them'. Viator could highlight this in tour description. 2. Lunch was great, no doubt, but the place was well... a hole. The least we expected was a restroom after an exhausting half, but the restaurant did not even have one. Mary had to finagle something out, but the condition was disastrous. 3. With 3 in our group, definitely would have preferred a larger vehicle... not bad for short trips, but we did feel crammed on the back of compact car. All in all, the sites are worth every minute (for folks tuned into ancient history) and our guides did their best given the means but made it up with their positive energy.

Excellent day tour

An experience of a lifetime on my day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. This was an excellent tour which I highly recommend. I was fortunate to have Haisam as my tour guide, very punctual, professional and knowledgeable, but in addition his presence made the trip a fun and comfortable one.

Historical trip with some recommendations

The trip was comfortable. It was a beautiful day and guide was knowledgeable. We have a few recommendations: 1. Encourage tour guides to accompany guests into locations (at the very least, the catacombs). 2. We felt the citadel was a beautiful, worthwhile place to visit both inside and out. We suggest guides encourage guests to visit the interior. 3. Provide guides with a consistent list of places where bags and cameras are allowed or not allowed, and stick to the locations listed on the itinerary. We had a great time visiting Alexandria, and we learned a lot. Shukran!

I would not do this again

Very poor administration. They picked us up 2 hours late. This was a private tour. The viator tour description included all entrance fees to the sites. As we started the tour, the guide said that admissions were not included. After several calls to the office, they agreed to cover the fees. The attractions covered by this tour are, in my opinion, unremarkable for a such a long trip.

OVER TWO HOURS LATE!! Very unprofessional company.

Booked a few weeks in advance and contacted them the day before, and they confirmed the guide would meet in the hotel lobby at 7am. After numerous messages and attempted phone calls, he arrived ***TWO HOURS AND 20 MINUTES LATE!!*** First excuse from the company at 7:15am was that they were waiting at the wrong hotel, and would be right over. Checked GPS and with traffic that should’ve been 6 minutes as it was so close. Then they said give them an hour. After 2 hours I asked where they were, and got a new excuse that they were late because of car problems and had to get a new car. When the guide arrived at 9:20, he said that the company did not hire him for the tour until 8am. It was terribly unprofessional for the company to not be ready with a guide, especially after having been reminded the day before! The customized itinerary had 7 sites on the list, plus lunch. The guide informed me that we could only do 4 and could only spend about 2 hours in Alexandria in order to get back in time. I argued for doing what was on the itinerary and suggested a quick to-go lunch to save time, which did allow for 5/7 sites being seen in a very rushed manner. There was just no way to have a tour in any depth and cover all of the itinerary after starting so late. I definitely strongly recommend finding a more professional tour company. If you spend the money to travel to Egypt, it is worth spending the small amount extra to have a good quality tour rather than settling for lower priced unprofessional disappointment. For the previous days of my trip to Egypt, the vacation package was operated by Spring Tours. They are an excellent alternative which would’ve cost about $25 more when I booked my Alexandria excursion, but the difference in cost comes with extremely high quality guides who were early and waiting for us every day. I very much regret the decision to go with Let’s Explore Egypt.

Amazing

The experience was amazing! To begin with the trip begun at 7am as planned. Tour guide was Nour and the driver Basem (both are the best of the best). Nour took her time explaining the history of every site, with amazing photos skills. She is very energetic, social and polite. She is very knowledgeable on the history of Alexandria. Lunch was delicious with an amazing view. Basem was a great driver, made me feel safe at all times on the road. In conclusion if you want to have a great time in Alexandria hand down they are the best!!!

The best of Alexandria!

Everything about this tour was great. The guide, Mohammed Mahmoud, was extremely thoughtful and informative. He was very knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited and was able to provide in-depth cultural insight. In addition to our scheduled stops, we were also able to stop for tea and ice cream. Mohammed always made sure I had everything I needed. This trip is well organized in general. Our driver Ahmed Zed was exceptional and managed to smoothly navigate busy Egyptian streets. I can’t recommend this tour and guide enough!

Pretty city

I enjoyed my pyramids tour with Let’s Explore Egypt so much I booked another 2 day tours including this Alexandria one. I had a great time on the day tour to Alexandria. We explored the catacombs, Roman amphitheater, and the the fortress of Qaitbay, along with some drive-by sites. The city is beautiful and we got some relaxing time at a coffee shop on the water. My guide, Mohamed Mahmoud, answered all of my questions about the area and looked up anything he did not immediately know. He’s also a great photographer and knows all the good spots. Beshoy, the driver, was great and very safe.

Amazing day spent in Alexandria !

Today I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful city of Alexandria ! The tour was led by the very insightful and great guide Mimo . The first site we visited was the Catacombs which are tombs dates back to the second century AD. Mimo was able to provide a lot of knowledge regarding the history of these tombs! The second site we visited was the Pompey's pillar. These were some beautiful structures ! The third site is the Roman theatre which dates back to the second century AD and the only Roman theatre survived in Egypt. The fourth site is the military fortress of Quitbay which dates back to the fifteenth century and was built in the same location of the ancient light house which used to be one of the 7 wonders in the ancient times. To top it all of Mimo took me to a great restaurant where I had the Zander fish! Thank you the driver Andrew who drove us from Cairo to Alexandria safely !

Cairo to Alexandria

We left Cairo at 7 am and traveled to Alexandria. Due to miscommunication on our part? Or there’s? We were disappointed to find out that we were only doing 4 stops after spending so many hours on the road and after having booked a slightly more expensive tour from trip advisor. In addition the library was closed so that wasn’t an option. Our tour guide was interested in explaining the statues and paintings inside the catacombs so we learned a lot about that. We started with the catacombs, then the pillar, ate lunch, looked at the fort from the outside, and then stopped briefly at the palace and garden. While it was fascinating to experience Alexandria, I don’t think I would recommend it to friends to travel that far to do so few things. Our driver and tour guide were both very respectful men who took care of us.

Cairo to Alexandria

I took the trip from Cairo to Alexandria. Bossi was my guide and Andrew was my driver. They both were amazing. They catered the trip around what I most wanted to see in the city. Bossi has so much knowledge of the sites and explained the history of all the places we visited. She also was friendly and a lot of fun to spend the day with. I would highly recommend this tour!

A memorable experience

This was a very well-run tour. The guide, Mohamed Mahmoud, was thorough, attentive, knowledgeable, and above all, professional. He went above and beyond to make this an enjoyable experience (I.e., directing me how to pose, bringing water, ensuring I have internet access, etc). He spent an adequate amount of time at each site and was flexible with his time, constantly ensuring my questions were answered. Medhat, the driver, was very skillful. He maneuvered in and out of traffic safely. I’m very pleased with my experience and recommend Let’s Explore Egypt wholeheartedly.

Not really customizable.

The trip was good because of the very nice guide and excellent driver, and the lunch at the restaurant that was very good. However, the company needs to clarify that the trip is not really customizable, because they usually do 4 stops, and it was not possible to add a fifth one. Also, they need to update the information on the trip, there was not a 2 hour stop at the Library because we couldn’t enter. It’s a long trip, so it would have been nice to have been able to see more places over there.

Alexandia - Theo du Plessis - South Africa

Ahmed Elsayed and our driver Andrew did an outstanding job in a small period of time. The fog on the highway kept us back for 90 minutes, but after that we experienced the full glory of a City with a rich history. The Catacombs and Pompey's Pillar was an adventure in itself. From there Andrew did miracles to safely guide us to the beautifull Fort Quitbay. We breathed the air of the Mediteranean sea for the 1st time. A delicious lunch at the Fish Market is really a must. We then made a quick and last stop at Library of Alexandria from where we experienced the traffic again but Andrew did his part perfectly.

Nice day exploring Alexandria

I was taken on a private tour of Alexandria from Cairo with Mohammed Mahmoud as my tour guide. We went to the Catcombs, Pompey’ Pillar, the Roman amphitheater and the Fortress at Qaitbay. Overall it was a nice relaxing day exploring Alexandria which ended with a nice meal overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Mohammed and the driver were full of knowledge and made me feel comfortable and safe, which is nice since I’m from the US and don’t speak the local language here. If you’re looking to explore Alexandria then I’d recommend this tour with Mohammed.

WE LOVED OUR TOUR & OUR GUIDE!!

Mohamed Mahmoud was our tour guide & and Saeed was our driver. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! Mohamed was knowledgable, kind, and FUN. He laughed and joked with us which made our trip all the better. He made us feel safe, comfortable and we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to show us around Alexandria. We loved him so much we booked him again for our last day. We felt completely safe even amidst COVID because we were provided with masks, hand sanitizer and our temperature was taken before entering any vanity. Thank you again Let’s Explore Egypt, we’ll be back!!

Nice experience

This one day trip is awesome. Had a good time with my tour guide Mohammed Mahmoud and the driver Omar. I'm impressed by Mohammed's deep understanding of history. Both of them are super professional and supportive. Never a dull moment. I've got snakes, water, WiFi and AC all along the journey. If you're a solo traveller like me, this trip is a nice choice to explore Alexandria with limited time. BTW, don't be afraid about the covid-19. They have prepared enough to enaure our safety.

A day with Medhad

Medhad is a very good and knowledgeable guide. We had a fun experience together in Alexandria. He and the driver, also named Medhad, were prompt at our early morning meeting in Cairo. The 3 hour drive to Alexandria was comfortable in a new Nissan sedan. I particularly enjoyed our fish lunch at a harbor side restaurant. I understand that a lot of studying and practice is required for someone in Egypt to earn an accreditation as an “official” guide. It’s obvious that Medhad assiduously studied his material and practiced his presentation. He is an interesting story teller and has a fun academic delivery. Cudos to “Lets Explore Egypt” for recognizing his value. Everything with Let’s Explore was “as advertised”, down to the pick up time, snack and water along the way, driver as well as a guide, and lunch at a really nice place. Good job, Trip Advisor, Lets Exolore, and (of course) Medhad !!!

A very very poor experience

We have used your company extensively over the years and have always found our excursions to be a joyful experience. This was not by any stretch. Our guide was late to start which set us back on time. When we arrived at Alexandria while touring he not only couldnt answer our questions he was actually giving us misinformation. He told us the romans destroyed the lighthouse in 400 ad which i knew to be false. He didnt even know the history of the lighthouse which i find unacceptable. While that example is the most egregious it by no means was the only instance. He also made the driver take him on a personal stop which caused us an extra hour of travel time. When i noticed we had just taken a 45 minute circle so he could pick something up i asked him about it. He responded it was just a small circle and went silent. We had expressed at the beginning that we needed to be back early in order to change our flight in these trying times. He said we would be back at 4 at the latest. We arrived at 6. When we went to lunch he left us and ate by himself. The servers didnt speak english well at all which left us with an inability to convey what we wanted/needed. We also thought this was poorly done. He also stayed in Alexandria and left us with the driver who spoke spotty english at best. The driver did his best and was quite adept at his job. His name was ahmed and i dont think he was at fault for anything. We felt like the guide was using our excursion to fulfill his own personal needs which is not proper at all. The entire experience was quite bad. Our tour guide was named hima. I only express this so other travelers will not have the same experience. I am requesting a full refund.

Private day tour to Alexandria

March 14,2020 it was a rainny day...but we took our chances to take this tour....great choice....Ahmed Elsayed our tour guy was great, friendly and knowledge....It took 3 hours from Giza to Alexandria( the driver was too aggressive, I think...the driver is dangerous driver.... I am glad we had Ahmed Elsayed as our tour guy...he made this tour worthy... I really recommended Ahmed Elsayed....ask for him when booking...you will not be dissapointed... Awesome trip to Alexandria.

This agreat tour to Alexandria with Mohamed Mahmoud Very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Always made sure I was okay ! He answered my questions and provided history of all the places i visited.This is tour of Alexandria that hits all the highlights ,My favorite site was Fort of Qaitbay this is the site of the old lighthouse but today, in its place is a fort - Qaitbay Citadel. it's a great place for photos. Excellent views of the Mediterranean Sea and beautiful architecture. Lots of opportunities for insta worthy photos. Highly recommended !

The best day in Egypt 2020

On our last day in Cairo we booked this tour to Alexandria. We were picked up promptly( we were the tardy ones)Our guide El Wazir was knowledgeable and helpful. Our driver Mr. Gad is a competent and careful driver. This was our third tour during our short stay but it was by far the best. These gentleman provided door to door service. We will recommend this tour and El Wazir and Mr. Gad specifically to our friends and family who visit Cairo. Thank you again, Sheila and Richard Scott

Book it!!!

Great tour!! I am here for work. I was a little hesitant to go on this tour just bc it was a 3 hour drive fr Cairo and i am by myself. But Hima and Mohamed(driver) were awesome!! Hima was knowledgeable and enthusiastic! He wasn’t a over talker/bore you to death kind of guy. It was short and sweet bits of history that is easily remembered! Take the tour...you won’t regret it!!!

Beautiful Alexandria with the king Hima

Beautiful Alexandria is a city with a lot of history, Hima know the history of the city very well in fact you would feel that he is the king from the first moment. The driver Amr was amazing, he knows all the roads and he well handled traffic. I recommend this tour with Hima and let’s explore

Excellent day tour to Alexandria

We really enjoyed every moment . We visited the best places in Alex including Catcombs, Pompey's pillar ,Fort of Qaitbay and Modern library of Alexandria. Mohamed Mahmoud explained the key aspects in great detail, he was really knoweldgable and informative .Great lunch with sea view restauarant Being a day trip it was a long trip but we were at ease throughout. We really recommend this tour .

Review

Alexandria has so much to see but we could’ve totally done it without our tour guide. To start of, the tour guide had looked both me and my friend up and upon getting his car he pulled out pictures he found of us on Facebook. He knew a lot about us and made us very uncomfortable. When we got to Alexandria, we were taken to sights we didn’t book to see. The tour guide rushed us through all the sightseeing events. When we got to the library of Alexandria, we weren’t able to enter into the actual library portion because the tour guide said “we needed special government permission”. He also took us in some random back entrance and we didn’t get to see the entire museum, not to mention, again we felt rushed. We felt uncomfortable the entire time we were with him. He continually asked us if we were having a good time. He would ask us a question and when we proceeded to answer he would ignore us and begin talking to the driver. Yea, so, thoroughly not impressed with the tour / guide.

Beauty on Egypt’s North Shore

This was a relaxing trip. We selected the Montaza Garden, Museum, and Library. We didn’t have time to add a 4th as the gardens are on the far East side of Alexandria. There was no WIFI in van as advertised nor snacks but water bottles were on hand. Mohamed, our guide, was very helpful in accommodating all our requests. We preferred missing a 4th destination to see the gardens. It really was the highlight of the tour. The serene atmosphere was welcome after the loudness of Cairo. The library was our second favorite. Lunch was provided at a time that worked for us. Very nice tour!

Alexandria Day Trip

Mohamed Mahmoud was our Egyptologist for the day and was very knowledgeable and professional. Our driver Hossam was equally as professional. We were picked up on time and driven to Alexandria in a comfortable 4x4, even stopping for a cup of tea en route! In Alexandria, we were taken round our four choices: the Catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, Fort Qaitbay and Roman Amphitheatre. Mohammad gave us an introduction and overview of each site before allowing us to take in the history at at our leisure. A slick and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Mohammad was chatty, engaged and wanted to know us better whilst letting us ask lots of questions on the way. Hossam was also very pleasant and courteous, opening the door for us whenever we stopped and always had a smile on his face. Highly recommend this tour and if we’re back in Egypt again we would certainly consider hiring Mohammad and Hossam for another trip! 10/10, superb.

Day trip to Alexandria

We had a good day exploring Alexandria. The city is pleasant and our trip was made even more pleasant by knowledgeable And thoughtful guide and helpful driver. We were picked up punctually and our guide and driver were accommodating to so that we pack in a lot and maximize our experiences. I was also touched by their thoughtfulness throughout- they were attentive to our needs (e.g. even when the trip was over, they helped us to get to our next destination). Highly recommend them.

One day in Alexandria from Cairo

We were two brazilan’s couples going to see the Alexandria’s highlights. Lucky to find this tour and to have El Wazir as our guide. He was very kind and did his best to make us comfortable and understandable even in english or spanish. Excellent photographer and always happy. Amazing experience.

Beautiful Place, Disappointing Guide

It could be a much better trip if we would had a qualified tour guide. The tour operator did not tell us we would not had a guide from Cairo, instead they sent a driver who drove well but unable to speak English at all. When arrived Alexandria the guide showed up near the first site, Com Ash Shuqqafa, Unfortunately his English was broken, unable to answer many of my questions only rushed us through the site. I had to stop couple of times to listen to other tour guides. The day trip included the lunch, he led us to a fast food restaurant serving only one kind of Egyptian food, no other choices, even I had told him I’d rather have seafood. Nevertheless the new library is fabulous, the Fort Qaitbay on site of the lighthouse has wonderful view. The manuscript museum in the library had some only surviving scroll from ancient time, highly recommend. Consider the service received, the price in unreasonable.

Day Trip in Alexandria

We had a great time visiting Alexandria, Hussein is very knowledgeable and able to explain to us clearly the history of alexandria, he’s very accomodating, i would highly recommend Hussein as Tour guide, he even took a nice pictures.

Excellent Trips to Alexandria

Our private tour to Alexandria was excellent. Our group of 22 peoples all enjoyed with Tour guide Mustafa and Driver Abel Rahmen. Our Tour guide are amazing, very kind, funny and very knowledgeable. I would recommend tour guide Mustafa in Egypt.

Excellent one day At Alexandria

We had a great time. It is a very worthwhile trip. Aziza is the best guide you can have. She is attentive, knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. My husband dies not eat fish and she was able to get special chicken ordered for him. The driver is awesome navigating thru the worst traffics condition we have ever seen. Great day and lots of fun. One note: they do not have napkins or toilet paper in Alexandria. You need to prepare your own. Need also prepare small bills for the cleaning laddies. 20 to 30 egp. Seems to apply to all foreigners. Also need to have clean wipes at all time. To wash hands, wipe utensils etc. By the way, February is surprisingly cold. But, it’s okay with layered clothing and nice wind breaker.

Alexandria Day Trip From Cairo

We had an AMAZING tour with Hussein Elgabry. He kept us updated with constant communication as soon as the trip was booked and gave us advice on what to wear. He was very knowledgeable and showed us some beautiful places in Alexandria. We had a delicious lunch at a local seafood restaurant with beautiful views of the ocean. He was extremely helpful in helping us to reach out to our Gate1 representative even though he was not affiliated with them. I would definitely recommend Hussein and his driver for ANY tour. He is also an awesome photographer and knows where to take the best pictures.
