A day in Saqqara

Great tour with Eslam. I would highly recommend doing the 7am tour due to the relative cooler temperatures and the non existent crowd. We basically were in Saqqara alone, exploring the ancient step pyramid all to ourselves. We also visited the bent and red pyramids and had the option of going inside. Be prepared for a workout, the bent pyramid was ~61 meters (213 ft) to go down and the red pyramid was ~71 (~232 ft) to go do down. A once in a lifetime experience being inside all by yourself, kinda spooky but well worth it. Eslam was amazing with his profound knowledge and I highly recommend this tour.

Other treasures of Giza

Absolutely great excursion to some hidden treasures. Guides and transport were extremely knowledgeable and varied the delivery of information based on our interests at different areas. We made it inside the bent pyramid which was amazing and were able to do things at each site at our own pace feeling that we could take the most from it.

Great travel logistics and an excellent tour guide made this a memorable trip

Having a very knowledgeable guide and good transportation logistics made the trip really enjoyable and stress-free. Our tour guide, Tarek Tito, weaved a great story around each of the sites we saw and connected it with other sites to give us a complete view of Egyptian history. He was also flexible with the schedules for the day and was able to pack a lot without rushing us - he also found some amazing, unique places for lunch. Memphis arranged all the logistics for travel and stay which made our trip hassle-free and enjoyable.

Very Safe. Do it! :)

We went at the beginning of December. Very safe, lots of security around. Do it :) ----------------------------------------- This is the PERFECT way to begin your holiday of exporing the history of Egypt. We had Esraa as our guide. She was amazing and so nice. Our driver, Mohammad drove very safely and the car was new, clean and air conditioned. Bottle water was provided and we even picked up some fresh dates to try along the way. The reason why we went on this tour is that most of the 10-14 day Egyptian tours DON'T include this part of the history in their itinery. This tour sets the scene at the very start of your adventure. We started the tour at 8am, the day after we arrived in Cairo. Context - this was following a 25 hour flight from New Zealand. We honestly didn't feel any jet lag as the excitment of what lay ahead fueled us for the day. Choose this tour. You need all of the 8-9 hours to explore the sites. Highly recommend going into the Bent and Red Pyramids. They are different and an experience in themselves. And pick the addon at Sakkara. We explored the Serapeum. AMAZING!!! Google it. We finished the day at a restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic. Have some US cash on you for this and tipping the guide and driver (they earn it!)

Private tour to Dahshur and Saqqara

Excellent tour. Driver was good, and tour guide (Sam) was friendly., knowledgeable and spoke good English. Compared to Giza pyramids, Dahshur and Saqqara are much quieter and have far lower levels of harassment.

A great trip

A brilliant day out. Most importantly the guide listened to what o wanted to see and made sure it happened. Because the tombs at Saqqara were my main aim that is where we spent most of our alloted time. If it was open i went in it and if something was about to close i still managed to get in. We still had good time at Memphis and Dashur. Know if you want to go in the Dashur pyramids because they are quite hard work and so need a time allowance. As a solo female traveller i was well looked after by everyone and felt safe and comfortable at all points. This is a brilliant day trip to because there are more to.pyramids than just Giza

Great guide to understand pyramid evolution

Eslam took great care of our family and provided superior knowledge of the Serapeum and the evolution of the techniques in pyramid building. We felt really welcomed and taken care of and even enjoyed a falafel meal with him. We highly recommend him and his tour.

Fantastic tour of the Serapeum, with the best guide and driver.

I wanted to see the Serapeum more than anything in Egypt. Mostafa as our guide made this a truly memorable tour. My wife has a neck injury and the driver was so considerate gently going over or around any speed humps. Mostafa listened to us and went straight to the Serapeum first so we could spend as long as we wanted there. He was very knowledgeable and shared the accepted knowledge and his own opinions which was interesting. The pyramid of Teti was awesome and we had a great time walking around Memphis and the stunning statue of Ramesses the Great. Mostafa had a rapport with officials everywhere we stopped. He was willing to take our photos and very patient whilst we did. We didnt want to do all the stops and it was no trouble to cut the some locations, always patient and empathetic to us. Our driver was jusr as nice and inisted on stopping and buying us a bag of Egyptian bananas and mandarins to take back with us. When I did the research I chose this tour as it was the only one that specifically had the Serapeum listed in its own right as a stop. Not as expensive as some other tours we felt it was very very good values for the price and would highly recommend it. The only down side was at the Serapeum my wife left myself and our guide inside and went out early guided by some old guy in a kaftan who had been following us around and when he got her out of sight took cornered her in a dark area and demanded money from her and she was so terrified she paid him. I think Go Travel Egypt should stop this happening.

Dashur, Saqqara and Menphis

Very interesting visit to the three pyramids in Dashur, to Saqqara and Menphis. The guide was excellent. It was exciting to go into the pyramid.

Awesome time exploring the early pryimids and tombs of Egypt.

Very impressed with guide. Driver was especially careful.I really like Dahshur and the Red Pyrimid, the Unas Pyrimid and Step Pyrimid of Saqqara and the tomb of the two brothers.

Sakkara, Dahshur & Memphis - Do it!

Totally happy with our experience - a fabulous day. We booked the tour and as return visitors to Egypt we then contacted the company by email with a specific list of tombs & pyramids we wanted to see. They were prompt in replying and tailoring our day to the sites and timing we wanted. Our guide, Mohammed was knowledgeable with excellent English, a sense of humour, and prepared to be flexible. Would recommend the tour whether you’re first time or return visitors to Egypt.

Disappointing

The guide was 30 minutes late. She was nice and pretty informative about the pyramids. She took us to a carpet mill, essential oil store and a papyrus factory which we did not request or want. I paid for an 8 hour tour but it was only 6 1/2.

Wow! Amazing trip!

We are so glad we chose this tour company, we were so lucky to have Radwa as our guide for this trip. She was so friendly, very knowledgeable on Egyptian history and really knew her stuff. She was happy to answer any questions, and took us to the sites that she knew we would want to see. She took us to Saqqara first, then onto Dahshur and ended our lovely trip in Memphis. Doing the trip in this order really helped especially in the June heat. When we go back to Egypy I would definitely want Radwa as my guide.

A great starting point to discover Egyptian civilization

Impressive to get inside Red Pyramide and Sakkara. Our guide Radwa was friendly and managed well our expectation, keeping time needed to have a complete view of site. I recommend to spend one day for this south Cairo historical tour, even if it was already a long day. Thanks also to our driver who kept us safe during this tremendous journey.

Memphis and the tiny statue

Radwa was amazing. Perfect guide for the perfect trip. She was very patient with me and even took the time to include lunch, in an amazing place, with a fantastic view! She is truly an expert in her field and I appreciated her sharing her insights with me. Truly an amazing tour with an exceptional guide.

A fascinating adventure back in time 5000 years ago.

Our guide Morsi beautifully portrayed the history surrounding the first pyramid in Egypt, the stepped pyramid of Zoser. We marvelled in the exceptional colored wall paintings of the recently opened tomb of Zoser's Vizier. After that our skillful driver Zizu brought us on to the Bent Pyramid, the most gracious of pyramids.

Dashur, Memphis, Saqarra Private Full Day Trip With Car and Guide

I had a very well knowledgeable and versed tour guid named, Mohammed Abdul Lateef of Go Travel Egypt in which he showed me the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Dashur, Memphis, and Saqarra. Couldn’t ask for anything more. It helps when the tour guide knows their stuff and is sociable. My first time to Egypt and he helped make it memorable that day!

Felt comfortable the whole time. Tour guide very knowledgeable and nice. Took us to all the places we wanted and expected and plenty of time to look around. Car was comfortable and air conditioned. Look out for the stops at the papaya gallery and perfume shops as the employees there made us a feel a little uncomfortable when we decided not to buy anything

More Pyramids, fewer people.

If you love Egyptian history and seeing more Pyramids then this tour is one you will enjoy! I was so glad we went to Saqqara after Giza. Our tour guide Mohammed was extremely knowledgeable and showed us everything. We had a private day tour which was worth the extra cost. Mohammed was exceptional and he knows his history. I highly recommend Mohammed and this experience!

GREAT day tour outside Cairo

Sakkara is unbelievable! So much to see you cant do it in one day. A lesser traveled part of the Egyptian history outside Cairo. The Serapeum was wonderful to see, The pyramids at Dahshur incredible. You can go inside the Red pyramid, a great experience , but only for those with strong legs and dont mind being somewhat claustrophobic, as tunnel down is very steep and long and people are coming up at the same time people are going down. We received confirmation of our booking right away, and they were on time picking us up at the hotel. The guide "Mo" Mohammed was really great! A wealth of information and included interesting facts, and spoke fluent English. They will customize your tour to include the highlights that you would like to see. Our driver, named Mohammed as well, was wonderful in navigating the streets outside Cairo for our tour. Car was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this day tour to anyone travelling to Cairo!!

It was a very impressive tour, with a knowledgeable and friendly guide.

The guide was very friendly, offered different options, was very flexible. He made sure that we were allowed to look into different tombs, which were actually closed. He explained a lot, took a lot of time.

Great day to start learning about the first pyramids!

Esra and Ahmed were great in explaining and driving. We learned a lot and going into the pyramids was fantastic. Particularly the kids loved to feel like Indiana Jones!

Hassle-free, well managed and very interesting tour

My wife and I went on this tour with our guide Esraa in the blazing summer heat, and we thoroughly recommend it. It was the highlight of our trip to Cairo. The tour was completely private. It was just us with Esraa and a driver, not a coach full of tourists. The car was air conditioned and comfortable. And we were picked up from our apartment on time with direct contact over WhatsApp. No hassle whatsoever. Esraa was a brilliant tour guide. She was more than happy to answer any questions we had, she had lots of useful information to share, and we could pick and choose which pyramids we wanted to enter and which ones we just wanted to see from the outside. After climbing into the bent pyramid, you might want to sit the next one out! Travelling to Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur is not really possible without a tour. Like the rest of Cairo and its surroundings, you need a good tour guide to get you to the sites, explain what you're looking at, and avoid the hassle and haggling.

Great day trip

Great day trip. Our guid and driver were very kind and professional. We have visited Dahshur, Memphis and Saqqara. We learnt a lots of interesting things about the Egyptian history and architecture and explored the inside of two pyramids. Which was really a life time experience for us. Everything was well organized. We also tried local food which was very delicious. I can recommend this tour to everyone.

Fabulous Tour and guide!

We had the most fantastic trip with Mo our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and had insights that we wouldn’t have had, had we not gone with him. The sights are breathtaking it was so exciting to see Ancient Egypt come alive before your very eyes. Highly recommended trip. One definitely not to miss!

Great tour and lots of good spots to see on this tour. The guide and driver were very good. My favorite part was the Serapeum in Saqqara. If you do this tour I highly recommend getting an extra ticket to it!

Physically fun and educational time

We learned so much from our fantastic guide. She was very knowledgeable and kind hearted. There is so much history to soak up it can feel like a brain overload, but out guide helped us to see the bigger picture. We crawled through Pyramids and then rode in the comfy car provided. Fantastic tour and definitely the way to go.

Great guide, transportation disappointing

Our tour with Esraa and her driver was very interesting. She certainly knows a lot about the Ancient Egyptians and also the best places to see and take photos at Dahshur, Sakkara and Memphis. My only difficulty with her was that she was very soft spoken so was difficult to hear sometimes. It was interesting to see some different pyramids at Dahshur and the tombs at Sakkara were fascinating with some excellent examples of artwork. Memphis is basically a small outdoor museum and was the least interesting site. The driver got us safely there and back, but the car and driver were not up to the standard we expected for an expensive tour. We would have liked – • The passenger seat belts to be working • The driver not to be using his mobile phone whilst driving • Air conditioning to be used rather than windows to be open • The guide to talk to us whilst being driven, rather than chatting constantly with the driver • The driver could have dressed more smartly to give a more professional impression.

Best guide I had in Egypt

This tour was a highlight of my trip. The sites visited are obviously excellent and it's really interesting to explore other areas of Egypt. The tour was made all the better by having an excellent Egyptologist/guide, Muhammad. He would give me the history but we'd also have interesting discussions about certain aspects of the sites too. Over my 4 day trip around Egypt I had 3 different tour guides with different operators but Muhammad was by far the best. Had I have known this beforehand I would have booked all tours with this company and Muhammad for sure. Mustafa who helped organise the trip was also a really friendly and helpful guy so thanks to him too.

A magical place

Decided to go on a day tour to Dahshur Memphis and Sakkara and was lucky to get a good driver (Muhammed) and guide (Esraa Ahmed). This area is according to me an absolute must and no trip to Cairo is complete without it. Of the 3 perhaps Memphis was a bit underwhelming (apart from the extraordinary statue of Ramses II) They picked me up at the hotel at 8 and we got back just before 4 in the afternoon I wished I could have spent at least a full day more but perhaps next time I have absolutely no problem in recommending their services wholeheartedly

A visit to other important pyramids

This tour was an excellent introduction to the early pyramids and their history. Esraa Ahmed, my guide, provided just the right amount of information for me to start to understand the complicated hierarchy of Egyptian history. In addition, she was very helpful in suggesting quality pictures to photograph and then shared many of the pictures that she took with me. She encouraged me to go inside one of the pyramids and I am so glad that I did. I highly recommend Esraa and this tour.

Mindblowing Sakkara Dhashur and Memphis experience

Go Travel provided us a great 1 day tour of Sakkara, Dahshur and Memphis. Our guide Mohammed was very well informed and educated about the topics and made us discover those wonderful sites in an interactive and ludicrous way. Very knowledgeable about the sites he provided us captivating stories and excellent details and adapted the tour according to our needs. Great flexible friendly and very welcoming staff. Brilliant place visited with our guide Mohammed. Knowledge and enthusiasm with flexibility to photograph, slow down, speed up as you wish. This is a great tour that really should be the second must do in Cairo after Giza.

Sakkara, Memphis and Dashur Private Tour

Fantastic tour well worth a visit to these amazing ancient sites. It seems such a shame that these sites are hardly visited when they have so much offer. Our guide for the day was Mohammed (Mo). Mo speaks excellent English and his knowledge of ancient Egypt is vast. Each site has something unique to offer, listed below are some highlights from each site: Sakkara: Absolutely stunning place, highlights are the Step Pyramid and Serapeum. Memphis: This is site at the moment is an outdoor museum which is pretty small, highlights are the huge statue of Ramesses II. Dashur: My favourite site, highlights for me we’re gaining entry inside the Bent and Red Pyramids absolutely amazing!! My only negative points are: Extra time needed at Dashur, as we felt we were being rushed. At the start of the trip Mo stated to ask questions throughout the tour. From a personal perspective we felt that when we asked questions, Mo seemed to be defensive when answering our questions, as if we were offending him in some way. To summarise I have to emphasise that this tour is a must if you have some time in Cairo, as previously stated hardly anyone visits theses sites which is such a shame, as there is so much to see and marvel at. A Chance to See Where It All Started

An easy day trip from Cairo that isn't on the normal highlights tour, but worth every dollar and minute. It would be very easy to fill 2 days just at Sakkara. I did add a visit to the Tomb of Kagemni because it was included in the ticket to the Step Pyramid. If you have an extra day in Cairo I HIGHLY recommend a trip to Sakkara and my guide Mo was helpful and knowledgeable. He didn't push me to buy stuff or rush me through places where I wanted to spend time. Of the 4 guides I had in 11 days Mo was the nicest.

Had a great day trip with Mohamad! Very knowledgeable and interesting as we visited Sakkara, Dahshur and Memphis. Would recommend this day trip to anyone. It was fun and interesting and we had a great time.

Very nice

We were picked up on time they had emailed us in advance asking us if we would like to be picked up later we actually said great! The tour guide Susan knew about her subject and she also took us to a perfume factory which was great we had fresh falafel and the owner called to make sure we were enjoying the tour. All in all a nice day!! Thanks

Experiencia única. Los lugares que se visitan son auténticos tesoros de la civilización egipcia y poder visitarlos con la comodidad que ofrece la excursión es un plus. La única pega es que nuestro guía no tenía un dominio del español tan amplio como para resolver determinadas preguntas. Morsi, nuestro guía era un auténtico señor con todas las letras, muy amable y educado.
