Private Day Tour To Luxor from Cairo by Plane

Terrible organisation

We organised a private day tour to Luxor from Sharm-El-Sheikh. The organisation was terrible. It took me two weeks of chasing the company for them to finally confirm our booking & payment. Two days before our tour I received a message telling me the day of our trip had changed, and we would be going tomorrow. We only received details of pickup times, flight times etc. the evening before the tour. Once we were in Luxor the tour went well, however trying to deal with the company was incredibly frustrating. Would not use them again.

Just enough to make you feel like you saw the whole country! However, it would have been cool if they included seeing more of the modern Egypt as well.

Very good guide

Our guide, Ahmed, and our driver, Ramy, were phenomenal and very personable. The tour was really fun and very interesting. Ahmed was very engaging and tried super hard to make the experience as great as possible for everyone on the tour. We were able to see a lot in a short amount of time and would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to come and visit Luxor.

Wonderful tour! Our tour guide, Mahmoud, is the best tour guide I've ever had. We covered so much and I really appreciate that because I felt my time was productive. The felucca was a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for history and adventure!

Fantastic tour

We had a fantastic day on our tour to luxor and valley of the kings etc. In our opinion, it was well worth the long journey from Cairo and we visited so many wonderful sites, with free time at each, as well as a lovely tour guide. We would recommend this trip vary much.

Phenomenal

This was a magical tour. The guide was so nice and went above and beyond!! We said we didn’t have breakfast. He took us for a traditional Egyptian breakfast which was phenomenal ‼️ He took us to get stuff we wanted to buy. He was so nice and he’s well informed about EVERYTHING! One Day Luxor Trip - Cairo and Back

One recommendation is when visiting the Valley of the Kings, make sure your guide has King Tut's tomb on the agenda. Ramses the III is obviously worthwhile to visit. If you want to maximize the sights within a sorter timeframe, this is a great option vs. a river cruise. Don't be pressured to visit all the shops, but the cotton and alabaster shops were interesting.

Said was a very knowledgeable tour guide, and very accommodating. This is a MUST tour to add to your itinerary. Caters to your need.

Great guide salvaged poorly organized tour

First and foremost the tour guide, Said was excellent. His English was very good, he was exceptionally knowledgeable and he was continually making up for the shortcomings of the tour company. Communications with the tour company was poor from the start. When asked if the flight was regularly scheduled or a charter, the operator lied and stated it was a regularly scheduled flight. However when operator could/would not provide advance info regarding flight times, flight numbers or boarding passes it became clear that charter flights not regularly scheduled flights were used. Departure boarding passes were not available until hours before our 6am flight. Only reservation confirmations were provided during the tour only a few hours before return flight after persistent requests to the operator. Our guide tried his best to reassure us and make us comfortable. If not for his efforts to overcome tour operator's shortcomings I would rate 1 star. This tour requires prepayment and can not be canceled for obvious reasons. I can not recommend Mody Egypt Tours.

Do not book it unless you have the flight times confirmed

I had a hard time deciding what to say here on this tour, First off my driver and guide were solid. The sites were interesting but I would have to say given that the tickets were not included there is too much unknown going in maybe I should have inquired first on the extra costs, however I think the tour operator could provide that up front so you can plan better. You will have to budget much more to do anything or see anything, and cash is king as well, The major issue here before you book the trip is to be aware of the flight times, the big issue here is most of the sites close at 4 or 5pm and then flights can be much much later mine returned at 9:30pm I am sorry that turned out to be a giant waste of my time. I ran in many other people in the same boat so depending on your tour operator beware, I would have just stayed in Luxor over night and returned to Cairo early morning it would have been a better use of my time. Do not book unless you have proper costing for the sites and flight times. The food was good at the restaurant, but would not meet any North/South American or European standards for atmosphere,

Amazing!!!!

I wanted to thank Mahmoud who was our tour guide in Luxor for making this trip one for the books! He took us to all the sites as listed on the itinerary, provided us with a history lesson for all of them and was constantly making sure we were having a great time and day. Lunch was delicious 😋. I would highly recommend everyone to take this tour and to make sure to ask for Mahmoud as your guide. I will most definitely be coming back to Egypt with family and friends. Best Day trip Tour Ever to Luxor

One of the best tours I’ve had the pleasure of doing in any country. It’s not often that you find a tour guide like Said who really loves the work that he does. It makes the tour even better and also makes you appreciate the country even more.

This was a very good tour thanks to our tour guide Said. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate as well about his work, especially in Luxor. I would definitely recommend his expertise in Egyptian history.

Said experience

We were a group of four canadian people, we ask to have a french guide because we don’t understand everything in English. We did some activities with english guide and the four of us didn’t understand a word.. the guides always rush us, don’t let us time to take picture after their long monologue and they tried to steal us some money by not giving us our change back after buying ticket. Finally, we arrived at luxor and met a guide name Said. He was really lovely, he let us the time we wanted to take picture, he never rushed us for anything, he accepts some extra stop like stop at an atm and a stop in a typical egyptian restaurant for lunch. Moreover, he takes time to speak slowly and explain us very carefully each terms or explication. Well he was an amazing guide, I really recommand him. He made us enjoy our end trip in Luxor. Great private guided day trip to Luxor

Great day trip to Luxor out of Cairo that includes pickup from Cairo area hotels, flight, and private tour guide and transportation in a van in Luxor between points of interest. Very convenient esp if you travel with a smaller group so you can focus on enjoying and sightseeing.

Fantastic Day

Essam was a professional guide and excellent Egypto-grapher that went out of his way to make sure I felt safe and had a good time. From customising food options to bringing me to the papyrus museum (extra stop) and helping me take so many nice pictures, he really is the standard of what a good tour guide should be. Hugely recommend this company because even though I booked the tour the night before, they made sure that there would be a confirmation and someone would pick me up the next day. Fantastic.

Best way to see Luxor

I had a great experience with Viatour last week, that I could visit Luxor from cairo by plane, just one day we visited Karnak temple, Luxor temple, valley of the kings, Hatchepsut temple and the colossal statues of Memnon, we had tasty lunch there. It was just one hour flying to Luxor from cairo. Upon arrival to Luxor Airport, the tour guide met us, he was with us the whole day, his English was perfect.it was very informative trip. Thank you

Great service and fantastic Day

I visited Egypt few days ago, I went to cairo to the Egyptian museum and the great pyramids, then I decided to visit Luxor, I checked the online booking sites, I found a good offer on Viator. I booked a day trip from cairo to Luxor by plane. The driver bicked me up from the hotel early in the morning, it was only one hour flying to Luxor. In Luxor Airport met the tour guide Hazem Hassan, then we went to the west Bank of the Nile. Which known as the city of death, there I saw the valley of the kings and the temple of queen hatshepsut and the colossal statues of Memnon. Then I hand lunch in a good restaurant nearby the Nile, after lunch we did the east side of the river. The city of life, I was in Karnak temple and Luxor temple. Then we drove to the airport. Back to cairo. It was really a great experience with Viator. Thank you very much

Excellent trip

We had to travel from Cairo to Luxor, everything was included in the package and went without a hitch. The guide was waiting for us directly outside the airport entrance as promised. She was well acquainted with all the areas we visited and made the tour very enjoyable.The restaurant was excellent, the temples were very beautiful. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Cairo area, you should not miss Luxor!

Cairo to Luxor

Nermeen was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable about Egypt's history. She catered the trip to what we wanted to do and gave us space to also have free time on our own. I was very impressed with the helpfulness of the tour manager who kept in contact with me via WhatsApp and they also arranged for us to be comfortable and wait in the lobby of a nice hotel for a couple hours since the flight left late at night. The driver was awesome as well. However I do have a problem with TripAdvisor/Viator. Do not book this booking over the phone. The person from viator did not tell me about the hidden fees that you are expected to pay. You will come out of pocket around $120 usd for 2 people. Definitely book this trip, just do it on your computer.

Superior Customer Service

We originally booked a tour from Sharm to Cairo and later added this tour. Mostafa was great about arranging out flight & hotel. He provided us with all our travel documents. He communicated with me & the guide throughout our tours. Hany is an Egyptologist & provided answers to ALL our questions! I appreciate the visual aid & snacks upon arrival!!! My friend wanted to go to the jewelry store because she wanted a gold cartouche but we didnt have time in Cairo but Hany was able to get her to the jewelry store. I even ordered a 2nd one!!! Lunch was very traditional and scenic. I wish we had continued on to Aswan with Hany! Maybe next time 😉

Amazing day tour

It is amazing to go to Luxor from Cairo by plane it was amazing and the driver transferred us from our hotel in Cairo to Cairo airport the driver was very gentle and fast also when we arrived in Luxor we founded the the driver was waiting for us to visit the temples in Luxor it was very fantastic we enjoyed it very much and the guide was very kind and helped us to get a lot of information about the temples I recommended this tour

Good excursion but with the wrong guide

I made the reservation for this activity approximately two and a half months in advance. I liked the idea of doing this visit in a full day and with a Spanish-speaking guide, as offered. I paid in advance with a credit card as specified. The day before the private excursion, they sent me a message saying that they couldn't find a guide who spoke Spanish, therefore it was going to be an English-speaking guide. I asked them to try to find one who spoke Spanish or, failing that, Italian, but they told me that they couldn't, and if I wanted I could cancel the excursion and they would refund my money. I told him that I had taken the excursion with enough time so that they could organize it, but I was faced with the situation of seeing Luxor with a guide in English or losing the opportunity completely. Obviously I went on the private tour, because I don't know if I will be able to return to Egypt another time. The guide tried to speak as clearly as possible so that we understood what he wanted to express, but in reality I understood less than half of the story he was telling us. We were disappointed because less than 12 hours into the excursion they notified me of the problem and if I did not like the options they presented to me, I could ask for a refund. The rest of the excursion, that is, transfers, air tickets, and lunch were fine.

Luxor: Un must, mais…

Un passage à Luxor est essentiel. Par contre, nous avons été déçu de notre excursion. A 12 heures d’avis, on nous a informé que notre guide serait anglophone car aucun guide francophone disponible. Beaucoup d’extra a payer (toutes les admissions aux sites). Un total de 60$ par personne. Tous les autres arrêts étaient en fonction de nous faire faire des achats supplémentaires. Des techno de vente bien élaborées avec commission pour le guide (trop évident). Ceci étant dit, notre guide a fait preuve d’empathie et a tout fait pour nous trouver un interprète francophone.

Pesima Experiencia

Una experiencia que podría ser fantastica, la hecho a perder un guia de nombre Talaat Abdo, que de inicio nos recogio tarde en aeropuerto de Luxor, y fue poco amable en su desenvolvimiento, llegando a ser en momentos hasta mal educado. A nuestro regreso al Cairo, nadie nos recogio en el Aeropuerto, tuvimos que salir a la 1 am a buscar taxi fuera del aeropuerto. En la descripción del almuerzo en la pagina de Viator detallan que se ofrecerá un almuerzo en restaurante de alta calidad, fue todo lo contrario, el almuerzo de lo más simple y el lugar más antihigienico que hemos ido.

Ein unvergesslicher Tag Ägyptischer Kultur

Meine Tagestour von Kairo nach Luxor war unbeschreiblich und unvergesslich gut. Mein Reiseleiter Said hat mir mit seinem Wissen die Geschichte des alten Ägyptens eindrucksvoll näher gebracht. Er war zu keiner Zeit um eine Erklärung verlegen und hat die Tour perfekt vorbereitet. Alle Tickets waren organisiert, so dass es keine Wartezeiten an den Zugängen gab. Auch die Auswahl der Gräber im Tal der Könige war sehr sensibel, so dass man ein breites Spektrum unterschiedlicher Gräber und deren Zustände bekommen hat. Ich habe auch immer die Zeit für meine Photos bekommen, die ich brauchte. Sollte man mit genügend Zeit zum Rückflug die offizielle gebuchte Tour beenden, hat Said noch nette Ideen, um diese Lücke zu füllen. Auch der Fahrer hat eine guten sicheren Job gemacht. An Viator gewandt möchte ich auf die Buchungsdetails hinweisen wie die Sprache für fie Tour, die eigentlich in deutsch sein sollte und Streckenkenntnisse der Transferfahrer von und zum Flughafen.

Hoy hemos llegado desde el Cairo por la mañana a las 8ymedia. Nuestro guia, Rabhi ya estaba esperandonos delante del terminal, ahí empezó nuestro dia completo de tour en Luxor.

Excelente visita, lugares sorprendentes

Excelente excursión. Said, excelente guía, Los lugares que visitamos realmente sorprendentes. En s la excursión es un tanto agotadora, ya que se parte muy temprano desde el Cairo. Se cumplió con todo lo prometido al adquirir la excursión. Solo un par de aspectos a mejorar, yo adquirí la excursión con al menos un mes de anticipación, sin embargo solo pudieron obtener pasajes para las 00:20 del día siguiente, de todas formas la agencia se hizo cargo de llevarnos a un hotel a descansar por algunas horas. Ese aspecto creo que podrían mejorarlo. Del resto todo excelente y sin duda volvería a utilizar los servicios de la agencia y quizás si fuera con mis hijos, repetiría la excursión.
