Amazing Experience in the White Desert

This experience was amazing ! We spent a good time during our White Desert trip! Our host Ibrahim is really kind. He took his time to explain and describe us the environment. He's really friendly and speaks easily French too. Meals were really smooth, the chief meals is really good ! We recommended a lot this experience 🙂

An Amazing Experience!!

This was such an amazing experience that I would recommend to anybody visiting Egypt, our tour guide was Asam who was amazing, very kind and clearly enjoyed and had a passion for his job. The views are amazing and Asam knew all the best spots for the best pictures!! Our camp was very cosy and the view of the stars at night when your in the middle of the desert is truly something you need to experience for yourself!!!

Highly recommended -- guides and drivers were attentive and always helpful!

Great trip! Our drivers didn't interact with us much, but they were always friendly and attentive. The tour guides had everything that made the trip comfortable, relaxing and fun. I would definitely recommend the budget tour if you are by yourself and you don't want to pay for a whole private tour. The groups were small enough (my group only had 6 total) that it never felt like we were getting herded like cattle. 2 days is a perfect amount of time to enjoy the desert, see the stars at night, and watch the sunrise/sunset!

Amazing desert camp!!

It is amazing! Very good arrangement, and the guide taking good care of us. We enjoy every sight-seeing, and the sand boarding was fun! Also the dinner was awesome! We had a good time in this camping!

White Desert camping trip was amazing!

This was a great trip! The drive from Cairo to Bahariya was a bit long but well worth it. The Black Desert was very cool as was Crystal Mountain. We went sand boarding which is really sledding on sand. The night camping in the white desert was great. The rock formations were really cool. Our Bedouin driver/guide cooked up a very good dinner. He also had a very nice camp setup. 5 stars all the way.

Could be better vehicles

On the upside the White Desert is well worth seeing and the food provided was good. On the downside 4 hours drive in an old small car with no air conditioning breathing dust and air pollution to get to the 4x4 cars (which where old and also had no air conditioning). Then another 2 hours to get to the White desert. Unless you where in a lead vehicle you will be eating dirt from the car ahead (due to windows up because of no car air conditioning). The cook / driver chain smoked.

It's a place where you...

It's a place where you can't go alone, so I participated in the tour this time, but I'm satisfied because I was able to enjoy the fantastic scenery.

Unique and well worth the price

Did not expect how stunning this tour would be, it was the perfect adventure and a break from busy Cairo and regular tourist activities. Definitely original and the scenery is incredible. Amir greeted us at the Oasis and then Mahmoud was our driver and guide for the rest of the trip. Very friendly and accomodating. I won't spoil everything included in the tour but there are some surprises and it's a brilliant experience, definetely my highlight of my time in Egypt! Could not reccomend more.

Unique experience

My husband and I came to Egypt for our honeymoon and thought we absolutely had to camp in the desert as part of an authentic experience. We visited many beautiful sections of the desert like crystal mountain, black and white dessert. We had fun sandsurfing. The most memorable part was the camping under the beautiful stars and having delicious food cooked by our guides. It was also fun getting to know other travellers through this experience. We would recommend this tour to others but make sure to dress warmly in December.

Great place and experience. Not so great service.

The experience was amazing, mostly because the dessert is wonderful and the night sky was amazing. In the other hand the service received was not so great. The driver didn't explain anything from the sites, he just take us there. A couple of times he stopped in some places and got out the ban for 15 min without saying anything to the group. we just had to wait for him until he came back. The truck we had was quite old and damaged, without seatbelts, so it was quite dangerous. We had to pay extra money for the "entrance fee" to the dessert but we never got any ticket and never saw anyone charging any fee, so I guess they keep that extra money.

Amazing night view

The sky at night was amazing. I have never seen so many stars before. The dinner was delicious and plentiful. Management was very precessional. The hot spring was disappointing though.

Great White Desert overnight tour

I had a great overnight White Desert tour. It’s quite a long drive from Cairo but really worth it. Sleeping under stars is something I will never forget. Pick up from Cairo hotel exactly on time. Several breaks along the way to stretch legs and buy snacks. Tour guide/driver was very informative and friendly. I will recommend this tour to all who are interested wonders of the nature.

Nice!

What an experience. Definitely worth doing. It's a very long 2 days that lie ahead. Tons of driving. Make sure you have a lot of data and battery life on your phone. Our driver 'Miguel ' was very friendly and funny .... also a very slow driver. Would have been a lot easier if he drove faster than 80kms. White and black deserts we're wonderful. Definite see. Camp set up was in the white desert and was literally a bunch of mats on the ground and one wall. It's sleeping under the stars. Blankets/sleeping bags are provided. No pillows! Food was delicious and abundant. Hand cooked by Miguel on site. FYI, the desert is your toilet. Onesies and twosies! So be prepared. Thanks for the memories

Nice experience

It was worthy but long though. It takes 5 hours to get to the point and from there another 1 and a half to get to the desert. From that point there are a few stops where we swan in a cold sprint, did sunboarding and saw the black desert. The white desert is amazing, so it’s worthy to visit it even if it takes long. During the night we had dinner at the camping and we did a bonfire where some guides played drums and sang. The guide was not the kindest person in the world but it was okay.

Amazing desert, appalling transportation

So, overall we had a really good time, the white desert itself was absolutely magnificent and really was the highlight of my trip to Egypt! It was really excellent and one of the most impressive landscapes I have ever encountered! Why 3 stars instead of 5? We requested vegetarian food and were served chicken for lunch, that wasnt the end of the world. The transport was absolutely appalling. The trip both to and from Cairo to the oasis hotel was really bad. We were jammed into an extremely uncomfortable car and the driver on both trips was on the phone non stop to someone makeing loud calls, our safety being compromised as a result and was really unpleasant. The driver in the desert was nice enough bit the truck was unbelievably uncomfortable, my husband and I are still in pain. The driver here was also making non stop phone calls whole driving and texting, again, compromising our safety, and was smoking in the truck which was really awful - I felt sick breathing in his smoke. The worst part was when I was alone the driver gave an inappropriate comment to me that really made me feel uncomfortable.

An unforgetabble tour

An unforgetabble tour. Everything was perfectly organized. Our guide Bedra was very kind and helpful. Scenery of the white desert - unique. Dinner in the desert and sleeping under the open sky was a reallly unique experience. Highly recommendations.

Nice!

It was a great experience. The guide was very nice and kind. They overcharged for a coffee taken on the railway on the way to baharyia, saying that the coffee costes 30ep, we knew it didn’t… but other things were great.

Black and White desert...

wonderful trip to the Bahariya Oasis, Black desert and White desert. Great sand boarding and timely drive to enjoy the sunset. The two drivers were also great cooks and musicians. Overall and ideal setting and organization.

Natural wonders

Fabulous, what an amazing adventure! Was reassured if details via WhatsApp, had a comfortable ride out to the oasis, delicious lunch, then met our guide and loaded into Mahmoud’s jeep. We felt safe and well taken care of. The food was abundant, as was water and tea. I’d highly recommend to anyone wanting to see these majestic deserts.

Amazing trip, with amazing guide that exceeds expectations at all times!

If you like the outdoors, or an adventure, this is a must-do trip, and probably the highlight of our 2 weeks to Egypt. The organisers were great, and our Bedouin guide who took us into the desert, Mahmoud, was simply the best. He prepared a dinner better than what we ate at high end restaurants in Cairo, all on his own using the desert campfire and simple ingredients. The desert atmosphere is surreal - from the black volcanic desert to the white desert with its unwordly rock formations. The silence and solitude of the desert, the opportunity to see a clear night sky (we saw Mars, Venus, consetellations) and the landscape is fantasitc. The trip is professionaly organised and much more comfortable than what one would expect when one thinks of 'camping in the desert'.

Great and unique experience, first time but definitely won't be last one, in this experience the simplicity of camping life and environmental friendly life style, meets the cleanliness and neatness of the food, Toilets and finding your necessities without effecting the beautiful calm spot you camp in. Also learned and got to have a close contact with a passion of mine which is Astronomy, with expert people and professional gadgets, you get to take pictures with the beautiful starry night sky and galaxy too! ❤️ Cold water, toiletries, food, fruits was available and great! Wow! The highlight of your trip

Out of all the things we did in Egypt, this was the highlight. Words honestly cannot do justice to the experience. Absolute silence in the desert, incredible sights and to top it all off, sleeping under the stars was just sublime. Our keep driver and tour guide Miguel was great. A veteran jeep driver who drove the Land Rover through extremely difficult terrain with ease, cooked us an incredible meal and made us feel safe throughout the whole trip. 10/10 would recommend!

Magical Gem in the Sahara

Magical experience! This was definitely the highlight of my time spent in Egypt. Breath taking scenery, evening campfire, delicious barbecue meal, and tented overnight camping under the stars, , 'in the middle of nowhere'. I feel so privileged that I could experience this Gem in the Desert! 10/10! Thank you!

Incredible Sights, Tour Company Left a Little to Be Desired

The actual tour and experience of visiting the desert, seeing the sunset from Crystal Mountain, seeing the incredible night sky and watching the sun rise in the White Desert was amazing. Enjoyed every moment of the actual time in the desert. The logistics however were not great. I did not have any detailed contact with the tour company until about noon the day before the tour when we found out we had a very early pickup because we were the first ones being picked up. I had tried calling the number listed for the company to get more information only to find the phone number disconnected. We were sent the name of the driver and a picture of the car, but then just before pickup we were sent the picture of another car. At some point I was feeling like things were a little sketchy and I contacted Viator for confirmation that the tour company was legit. We drove to a central gathering spot where we met other people who joined the tour. We waited quite a while. On the way to the desert, the car broke down causing other delays (although I understand this can happen). It took an hour and a half to get another car. On the return trip we once again met up with others and went back in a minibus. The driver drove very slow on the highway for some reason and then we were told that everyone was being dropped in Tahrir Square and we could contact a taxi to take us to the hotel. We protested. Everyone else was dropped off at Tahrir Square, but we had talked to the tour operator and he finally agreed to have the driver take us to our hotel as had been agreed. The driver grudgingly dropped us off on the corner and was unwilling to go down a side street to take us to the entrance of the hotel. I would recommend the trip, but would probably suggest another tour company

Spectacular

Great experience camping in the White Desert. We went in December so it was freezing but we were provided with sleeping bags and woollen blankets. Bedouin BBQ dinner was so delicious. I'd recommend bringing wood fire snacks and hot chocolate for a cosy experience. Also byo pillows!

Unique and memorable

Getting off the beaten path was the highlight of our trip. The desert is amazing to see, and camping out under the stars is an unforgettable experience. The silence! The logistics and amenities all were planned flawlessly and we felt safe the whole time. I cannot recommend enough!

Lovely

I consider this trip a MUST-Go one ⭐️ Nothing could be better than a day filled with exploring the desert ❤️ The road from Cairo to Oasis was so smooth and arrived to get our delicious arabian tea as a welcome drink and a lunch , to set off to the marvelous adventure to the mid of desert by 4*4 cars. The black Desert where you see the remnants of volcanic eruptions. And hike to the top of the hill and see a panoramic view of the whole desert. and did a little exploring in the northeast of the White Desert, in an area called Aqabat, or “obstacles”. Dipped our legs in the spring water. Capturing awesome pics and then heading to sand boarding which was alot of fun ,and watched the sunset and relaxing there for a while, Then drove to the white desert and its beautiful formations rocks to camp there, and set our tents Enjoying an evening of a good conversation , eating delicious grilled dinner and drinking tea around the campfire singing & dancing. We couldn’t miss the beautiful sky and brought our sleeping bags out of the tents and slept outside beneath the magnificent moonless night filled with bright stars 🤍 On the second day,watched the sunrise and enjoying the connection with the nature, had our breakfast , did some hiking exploring the white desert , mushroom rocks , rocks resembling animals.. and then headed back with awesome memories. The local guides and the people were super nice there, Amir , Ayman , Mahmoud. ⛺️🤍

SUPERB EXPERIENCE

One of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had in my life. This is a must do. Everything was perfectly organized. Everyone was very kind. As a photographer I was stunned by the views and the landscapes that we were lucky to enjoy. Totally recommended.

Unforgettable experience!

This trip was beyond amazing! Got to see so much in a day from visiting the black/white desert, sand boarding, and camping right under the stars. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to go out to the desert.

Best experience from Cairo

This overnight experience was our favorite activity we did while in Egypt. The Ahmed Safari hotel was very inviting and a great location to start the trip. Lunch was delicious and then the the trip started. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the entire desert and gave us a one-of-a-kind trip. Dinner was great and it was very nice to get to know a local of the area. If you are in Egypt I would do this for sure.

White Desert is an unforgettable experience.

I had the time of my life on this desert tour. Michael, our tour guide was great. He was funny, hard-working, took great care of us, and showed us all these amazing hot spots along the way to the white desert. I booked solo but made friends with the other people on the tour which made this trip so incredibly memorable. The food Michael made for us was great! I loved all the hot spots. In this tour you camp in the white desert, but you also visit the black desert, 3 charming pool spots, crystal mountain (a mountain full of crystals you can take with you!), and you get to go sand boarding! We also stopped at a bunch of awesome photo-taking places. And we saw a herd of camels! So cool! And camping out in the white desert was an experience I’ll never forget! I’m thankful to Deluxe Tours for offering a service that allows us to experience such an awesome part of Egypt that is maybe less known than the pyramids and Luxor. This is a must-do tour! It’s so fun and an amazing experience! I had a really great time. And the sights were amazing.

Absolutely recommend this trip

Amazing trip with a great local tour guide! Would recommend staying in the desert and sleeping outside at the campfire. Although 2 day’s is not enough time spend enough time at all the places and would do at least a 3 day trip the next time.

Great area of Egypt!

Mohammed and Miguel were awesome hosts on our trip out. The food at the campsite was incredible, the desert is stunning and the silence in the desert with the glow of the white rock formations was magical at night. The sand boarding was so fun I could have done it half the day and I wish we had more time just to sand board! The off roading was exciting and a blast! I definitely recommend this trip, but I do recommend doing more than 1 day. It’s a long drive out there and if you use the public bus it’s a bit confusing as to what’s going on so having more than 1 night to really take your time exploring would have been the best. Despite having limited time we enjoyed an incredible sunset and sunrise, had great views of the desert and got up close to the formations. When we woke up in the morning there were fox prints everywhere and we had fun looking at them with a hot cup of delicious tea!

Amazing Experience

The trip was absolutely amazing we enjoyed every second. Seeing all the dunes on the arrival was amazing. The food that was cooked right in front of us was one of the best meals we had in Egypt. We chose to sleep next to the fire under the stars and it did not disappoint the stars are beautiful and it was a perfect evening.

Must do in Egypt

The safari was amazing, the bus ride out is a bit long but it’s completely worth every second. Once we arrived we were greeting with lunch and tea before we started our journey into the desert. We saw all kinds of dunes and mountains. Dinner and cooked right in front of us and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Pack all of the with the option to sleep under the stars it was a trip we will never forget!

Awesome night in the desert!! - Worth it!

Initially, we were a bit confused on how everything was going to work out. But we just went with the flow. You will be picked up by deluxe travel driver - from where you are staying they then drop you off at the bus station in Cairo. We waited maybe about an hour (not longer) for the large tour bus to come and pick us up. Be aware that the drive to the oasis is about 5/6 hours from Cairo. We were on this bus and were truly not sure what to expect - they make a couple stops along the way for tea/coffee and bathroom break - much needed. When you arrive in the oasis the driver that will be taking you on the desert tour will greet you and take you for lunch before you head on your way to the black desert and white desert adventures. Overall the trip is worth it and a lot of fun! It is truly an experience that words cannot describe and our driver was amazing, funny, and a great cook! I definitely recommend it!

a night to remember

We did a girls trip to Egypt and I will say one of the best experiences I've had in my traveling. I wont lie, we were all hesitant to book this trip as there were few reviews, and quite frankly thought it'd be a boring trip. The initial leg of the ride from Cairo to the camp hotel was long and not as expected. However, when we got there and met our desert guide (Michael, can't for the life of me remember his Arabic name), the experience was great. The number of stars you see in a dark sky; the silence you get to enjoy without the hustle and bustle of city life. A time that my entire group enjoyed and will cherish. Don't forget to bring wipes/TP, as the desert will be your bathroom. Also be sure to pack layers of clothing, we traveled in early March, it was warm during the day, but the night under the stars was quite cold. Also- approx 110 Egyptian Pounds (not included in the tour) for entry into the desert. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because we were told our 4 hour ride from Cairo to the desert hotel camp was going to be in a comfortable Jeep. It was actually the opposite. We spent the entire ride, 7 total passengers, crammed (with bags) into what would have been best for six people.

Beatiful places and excellent staff

I was very positively surprised about the whole trip. First, the communication with the organizer and driver was smooth and clear. In Bahariya itself, we were given detailed instructions about what followed. The main guide was very experienced and willing to explain everything about the life in the desert and how the people cope with local conditions. The places such as Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, White Desert were beautiful and I had no idea such places exist in Sahara desert. The night itself was amazing, with Bedouin songs after the dinner next to a fire. Value for money for this trip is great.
