Full-Day Tour to Giza Pyramids, Memphis, and Sakkara

Disappointing

Our guide was Nasser. We had a communication gap because his level of English wasn’t sufficient. He gave us very basic information and didn’t have the enthusiasm/engagement of a good tour guide.

Solo Traveler

It's a must do. Great experience, lunch, and tour. The camel ride was fun. Skip the shops there are plenty of shops else where especially the bazar.

A magnificent tour

Overall a very enjoyable tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and accompanied us to every single point of interest and explained the Egyptian history and background of the magnificent Pyramids. I would definitely give it a 5 * rating.

An essential guide to a complex history

Rawan our guide and Hamada our driver were brilliant. We started at Saqqara, which made a lot more sense (from a historical perspective) than starting in Giza, and in many ways it is the more interesting site. We learned a lot and everything was done at our pace (we are 69 &70) and with great humour. Definitely recommended.

Simply Excellent!

Both our guide and driver were excellent. Our guide Tonsi went out of his way to accommodate all our needs and requests. He made sure we didn’t miss a thing. He is very knowledgeable and personable. You are in good hands with him! Our driver Ahmed was equally personable and did everything possible to align with my mobility issues. It was a fabulous day and definitely a highlight for us.

Be-very careful with your money and surrounding

This tour was memorable because we have been pushed by our tour operator to pay "TIPSI" to his hidden agents who suddenly come in front of us, sometime to take pictures or sometime to purchase few things or on 1 instance a shop owner who sells spices. These people knows where to take their guests and pushed them to take services from those agents you like it or not. I am still in shock and don't know if i should directly blame such agents as over all these people are suffering with poverty and instability in their country. If tourist like us shows our softer side then we get conned but if we show our straight face then we become rude and we get to hear statements in their arabic slang which only they can understand just because we walk away and says NO to their services. (highly in-hospitable). I had plans and may be i will carry-on with those plans to visit Luxor & Aswan sometime later this year but i will be more vigilant and carful with my money.

Good in all aspects

I strongly recommend booking the Pyramids with Emo Tours. They were right on time in my hotel lobby and we visited all the sites described on the tour. It’s worth to mention that bottled water was offer during all the activities. We really enjoyed our time with the tour guide, Mr Osama, he was really nice explaining all the details on the archeological sites. He also helped us taking the best photographies (great photographer). In addition, the food included on “Valley of the Kings” restaurant was great. Through the tour we visited a bunch of stores: souvenirs, papyrus, rugs and perfume. I’ll recommend taking it slowly and bargain every price.

Amazing experience

Great experience! We were only two and they accommodated us very nicely. The tours were really interesting, the food was amazing, we were warned about tourist traps and we could also skips unnecessary stops. It’s really worth going around with these kind of guides, it makes a world of a difference.

The tour was properly...

The tour was properly paced, starting with Memphis then Saqqara then Giza. Marwa (our guide) was excellent. She provided good context and history on all our stops. I appreciated her ability to manage vendors, locals and other tourists. She is also very witty and funny. She made sure we understood the terms of our original tour, and gave complete information in case we wanted to add to our itinerary.

Great tour of pyramids and more

Great tour, ending with the Giza pyramid and the Great Sphinx. The additional access to the Giza pyramid is not for people who are not able to climb inclined stairs or afraid of very tight spaces. There will be spots where you are ducking your head for long tunnels. There is no ventilation, so it is hot. Overall, the tour guide was very professional and friendly. Would recommend the tour company.

It's good to see everything quickly

It's a way to see several things in a single day. But what they offer you is to go quickly to each place to take the typical photos. If what you are looking for is to have your time to contemplate the places, this tour is not suitable. Our guide was "gandalla", he was nice and sneaked us into all the places, but he also sold us much more expensively to go to the views of the pyramid, which according to him could only be reached by camel or camel cart; since we told him to walk and he told us that there were scorpions, which is obviously a lie. So I would recommend the tour, if you have few days and want to visit several things.

Great family choice to book private!

We had a wonderful time with our guide Mohamed who was very kind to our small children. He was professional and catered to the needs we had. We wanted to add a camel ride and lunch and he did these things and had great contacts for where to go. His contact for the camel ride were great and took wonderful photos for us we will always treasure. We needed a driver for the next day, and he also was able to arrange a great driver for that day. We had air conditioning in both vans with professional drivers.

Loved it but felt need more time…guess it’s never enough 😁

The tour guide and the driver were very cheerful and helpful. Full of knowledge and tried to accommodate our kids too. But we felt it was a bit rushed to visit the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara. Didn’t have much time to actually to walk around and take our own time to appreciate. But then again perhaps it was due to traveling with small children. Would have really enjoyed if we had more time visiting the Sphinx as well. Overall we are happy with the tour.

Asmaa was my guide she was amazing. The best guide ever her knowledge was outstanding and was always accommodating to my needs and wants. Asmaa went above and beyond to ensure my tour was unforgettable. She really made my trip to Cairo.

Trip of a Lifetime

Mohammad was the best tour guide we could've asked for. He was on time, attentive to our needs, and provided detailed explanations for all the attractions. We never felt rushed and made our first trip to visit the pyramids one that we will never forget. If I could give more than 5 starts, I would. If you're going to visit the pyramids, Mohammed as your guide is the way to go!

Good experience

We had a great experience. Our guide and driver were very welcoming and professional. The only thing I didn't like was the implicit pressure to buy local products. In general, there was a lot of insistence to stop at papyrus shop, cotton shops etc.

Guide was very...

Guide was very knowledgeable but the Giza Pyramids seemed quite rushed - like they didn't want to be there... Driver was too fast - I couldn't enjoy the scenery. They also wanted to take me to their friends shops between sights, which limited the time at the Pyramids..

Book this tour and you won’t regret it! Emo Tours Egypt was a wonderful company to book with here on Viator for 2 separate private tours. Mahmoud our guide, and Hamada our driver made everything very fun and easy on this private tour! Also, Mahmoud took lots of awesome pictures for us that we are very grateful for.

Fantastic Tour

We went on this Tour with our guide Essam who made this an amazing experience. The amount of knowledge he has about the ancient Egyptian Civilization is outstanding. Also on this tour we really felt that nobody wants to scam us - which is not always true in Egypt. Totally recommend!

Amazing Experience - great guide

Amazing experience, highly recommended - we were a group of 7 friends day was super fun, well organized and informative. A big thank you to our guide Hamdi that went above and beyond to ensure we have a kick-ass day! Transportation with the AC-equipped mini van was super comfortable and efficient.

Omar was excellent

4 adults 4 children on a private tour with Omar. He was excellent and knew all of the staff during the day. Excellent food after the trip with bbq and Egyptian food. Would definitely recommend asking for Omar

Reliable and reasonable tour to explore all the major pyramids within a comfortable timeframe

The trip was very well organised and guided by the tour guide Muhamed who arrived at our hotel lobby before time and has a very in-depth knowledge of the history of all the sites. The optional lunch was delicious and adequate. It was very easy to communicate with Menna via whatsapp who organised the itinerary to suit our needs at a price cheaper than other companies I checked for similar tours.

A must see

My favourite and most memorable part of the trip is for sure sakkara, less crowded and a beautiful and special piramid...lunch was a feast of Egyptian food and the tour guide was so friendly and helpful even if it was during Ramadan and very hot...will definitely recommend this day trip to anyone visiting Cairo.

Great experience!

Tonsi was a great guide for the pyramids and Memphis. He was laid back and fun. He was knowledgeable about the area and willing to answer questions. He also took us to a great lunch spot.

Worse guide ever!!!!!!!!!

Our guide, Walid, was super rude and obnoxious with me particularly since I said I wanted to go inside one of the pyramids and didn’t agree to give him the money to pay for the ticket (as I wanted to use my card instead of cash). He also tried to charge us for the wait while we went in! He said it was the tour policy, but we refused. He purposely ruined the photos were I was in (not my friend’s), kept rushing us all the time and made inappropriate comments about me “not smiling enough” and how I “don’t listen”. He even got slightly aggressive when I asked if they had slaves in ancient Egypt (which was a legitimate question I had). He totally ruined our once in a lifetime trip to the pyramids!

Great time

First day in Egypt, the tour guide Ms rania was on time at 8 am. Highly enthusiastic, explained in language which was understandable to us as we had only very basic knowledge of egypt history. She advised and took care on each steps what to look around and where to be careful. overall a very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend Ms rania and emo tours, cairo a thumbs up.

Good fun !

We had an overall good trip, our guide Sara was great and the driver was good company. The lunch was excellent, fresh and tasty and we enjoyed the delicious egyptian food. One word of warning to our fellow travellers, make sure you are asking twice, or more times, what is the cost of the activities you are doing and if there is a cost, as they generally do not advise you if you do not ask insistently about this and there might be surprising fees at the end..

very poor is you care about history and culture, great if you only want an instaworthy visitor :(

I am honestly surprised to read such positive reactions. But I think I can guess where they come from. Our guide Hazem was very friendly and started off by giving lot’s of information, so I had a great first feeling. But very soon I started noticing he was repeating the same exact facts (that were very basic and hard facts rather than a coherent story connecting the facts). Once I started asking in depth questions he would repeat the same facts he had already stated a lot of times. When we started reading the panels (as that was giving us more information than he was giving, the undermining the whole purpose of having a guide) he clearly didn’t like that and started either stating the same facts over and over or reading parts of the board out loud (with sometimes wrong dates) instead of letting us read. When we started listing to other guides actually telling stories and relevant information, he would again state basic facts we had heard before or repeating what they say, but wrongly so because he hadn’t understood the context. He clearly was not anywhere near an Egyptologist or posses knowledge that goes further than reading a Wikipedia page. He also de recommended not visiting certain tombs stating they were boring and there was nothing to see. We did them anyway am I was glad we did. He just had nothing to tell about them, but that’s not the same as the tomb being not worth it. He was also pressing us to move to the next thing, to take pictures instead of giving info. I realised it was because he wanted to take us to 3 factories. I immediately declined that “suggestion”. But he kept acting pressed in team. I’ll give him credit to one thing, he did take nice pictures and knows “unique” spots to take pictures from. I don’t really care about that, i visited the site for history and culture, not for instagram, but if you are into that then he is a great guide. I just wish Emo Tours would be more caring about the guides they engage with.

Great stop stop Giza pyramids saqarra snd Memphis archeological sites. Tons of historical information snd impossible to remember as lol of it. Would be helpful to have a paper outline of the highlights. Side stops to perfume factory. Paper factory snd rug factory not a positive experience with hard sell owners thst were most likely friends of guide

Perfect day in a perfect place

Amazing day with Hiheb! The trip was tailored around us and we never felt rushed. Hiheb would explain the story and facts about what we were seeing, then took amazing photos of us and afterwards always gave us some free time to explore by ourselves. The sites you see on this trip are simply out of this world and you feel like relieving a part of history. Hiheb was a kind, knowledgeable and funny guide, couldn’t have asked for better! Definitely recommend!

Amazing tour of the pyramids and Cairo

Thank you Emo tours and our guide Ahmed and driver Kareem for a fun day out to see the pyramids , Sakkara and Memphis . Ahmed was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history and friendly and caring throughout the trip . We learnt a lot about the history of Egypt . We did another tour with Emo tours and Ahmed the following day to see the old Coptic and Islamic sites of Cairo which was also amazing ! The restaurants that were arranged by the tour were really good with a great selection of local food . We would definitely recommend Emo tours and our guide Ahmed to family and friends when they next visit Cairo .

Great day your around Cairo

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful guide Afifi made it a very enjoyable day as guide. Lunch was good even though we had it at the end of the trip. Giza is of course great and very well known, but Saqqara and Memphis open air museum were pretty impressive also.

Amazing day in Cairo

Our guide and driver from Emo Tours were excellent, navigating the Cairo traffic with ease and timing everything perfectly. Our guide explained the wonders of the pyramids and sphinx with in depth knowledge, and left us wishing to return. Great Experience!!!

Great tour, well worth it. Our guide Tonsi was knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining some of the history behind pyramids and the dynasties / kingdoms as well as answering questions of Cairo and the surrounding area. He was very helpful navigating through the sites as well as helping us with setting up a driver for another day of sightseeing.

A must-see itinerary

To start with, the whole itinerary was perfect for someone who wants to visit Egypt and see its beauty. All of the stops are considered a must do and are highly recommended. Moving on to the experience itself, our tour guidance was insufficient. Frankly speaking, the tour guide was a lovely girl, always smiling but unfortunately she lacked communication skills and we felt there was no engagement from her part. Most of the time, we would ask the questions and provoke a conversation. There were even times where we would blindly follow her without having had an introduction of what follows next. On the positive side, our tour guide took us for dinner at a traditional restaurant next to Sakkara desert with amazing food. Overall it was an amazing day with lots to see and we left grateful for meeting such nice people.

Excellent Tour with an excellent guide

This was one of the memorable tours we had in Egypt. Our tour guide Mira was knowledgeable and filled us with all the stories about the Ancient times and this helped us throughout Egypt. Because we were with her no one could haggle us. Also the van was very comfortable and we stopped at a good place to have lunch with vegetarian options. I wish we could have included Bent Pyramids in the Itinerary as well.

All the spots in one-day

Fatimah was really knowledgeable as she explained to us during the trip. We manage to cover all the sites within day time, even with the extra trip to the overpriced Carpet School + Papyrus Painting Shop. Lunch ended up being dinner. Vehicle is spacious and can keep our luggage as we were switching hotels that day.

Amazing Pyramids tour

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on as the guide(Intizar) and driver (Hani) were friendly, informative and helpful throughout the tour. I highly recommend the tour.
