Awe inspiring trip and a Lifetime of memories!

I went to Egypt in Oct 2019 for the first time, as solo female traveller. I have travelled to other countries before also as a solo traveller. However, as someone who has appreciated the long history of Egypt I wanted to have the experience of a guide. I chose Vacations to Go after much thought and consideration. I was pleased with the online reviews and had personally called the company and spoke to Walaa who patiently answered all my questions and alleviated any doubts I had about booking with them. For all those considering, understand that in Egypt there are many tour companies! Egypt is still, and will always be a place for tourists to go regardless of any political situation simply because of what it offers. I mean it wholeheartedly, very few countries in the world offer the same amount of incredible and breathtaking monuments that will inspire you and enchant because of its mysteries and wonders. I arrived at Cairo Airport and was immediately greeted by Michael. Michael was amazing in how he made sure that I felt comfortable, even assisting me with getting a late check out. On my last day in Cairo he even assisted me with booking an Uber ride to the airport remotely. (Uber was my choice I altered my plans, Vacations to Go always takes you, to and from airports). While I was in the Uber taxi, he even called the driver to check that I was safe. That was so appreciated. That extra mile and care just made me know that I had chosen the right company. My two days in Cairo was with a wonderful guide Maged. He was so generous in making sure I saw all that I had wanted to in Cairo. He even accompanied me to descend down the Red pyramid, for which we both got wobbly legs and joked about. Maged was an amazing guide, thank you so much. I also met Magdy, the director of Vacations to Go, who accompanied me to the airport from my hotel to Cairo airport en-route to Luxor. He was also friendly, and made me feel safe. In Luxor, Mansour was my guide, he was so committed and passionate about all the places in Luxor. He also went out of his way to ensure I saw all that I had requested and was just as generous. (Thank you Mansour) I went to Alexandria and had Marchel (hope spelling is ok) as the guide. He did a great job of showing me the place, as there were some other interesting travellers who had joined the day tour. I also wish to commend all the drivers I had, they were all incredible. I have so many treasured memories of Egypt and none of these would be possible if it hadn’t been for Vacations to Go. I paid the single supplement as I preferred travelling on my own and was glad I did as it allowed me to bypass quite a few of the crowds and made travelling a lot easier for me. I highly recommend Vacations to Go and for those thinking of going to Egypt, - go with an open mind and open heart and embrace all that it has to offer. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and respected with my guides at all times and comfortably enjoyed my holiday! Thank you again!

A wonderful experience

Most particularly the knowledgeable, friendly personnel. Hussein was our guide for the 7 days River Nile cruise and Basem Wagdy guided us in Cairo. Memphis tours private 10day tour

Just returned from Egypt.an experience of a life time a tour,Memphis tours catered for all our various requests.We had 2 private guide and drivers with airconditioned cars plus riverboat cruise. Both guides were excellent with wealth of knowledge on Egyptian history.(Sam) Ossama Mustafa was so helpful and understood our needs with my wife and her health issues helped us to see all the important sites around Cairo and Alexandria- (we have adopted him as our Egyptian son).Took us to his favorite restaurant in Alexandria and food was fantastic-The driver Eman Sayed was the bravest and most skilled driver in Cairo and we requested him when we returned. How he was able to get us around Cairo without incident was amazing and always so polite. All drivers in Cairo and pedestrians have a death wish and there are no rules that are followed. We were met at the Cairo airport by a very helpful young man from Memphis tours - Ahmed Sayed who navigated us though the various trips to the airport and hotel Our personal guide was Alaa Rashwan on the river cruise and tour of sites in Aswan and up to Abul Simbel he was also very helpful and got us away early to beat the rush at various sites Again his knowledge was amazing and I am sure he enjoyed telling the history to my wife who absorbed every word. Luckily we were helped along the way by the guides with tipping. We felt completely safe in Egypt and while it is dirty in Cairo the people are very friendly and we never got sick.

Egypt is safe and a “must”

My wife just completed the 10-day ancient Egypt with Nile cruise package. It was perfect. Wonderful trip

My husband and I have always wanted to visit Egypt. Our decision to book with vacations to go was the right one! From day 1 to the last day everything was beautifully arranged and organized for us. We did not have to do anything except show up. We had two amazing guides. Rasha in cairo and Ahmed in aswan and luxor. Both were great. Magdy and his team did a great job in making us feel comfortable, safe and taken care of. Keep up the great work!

Perfect trip

Booked our tour at the last minute. Magdy and Walaa were very responsive and always available for questions. Michael was there in arrivals to meet us and escort us through passport control and customs and transfer us to the hotel in Cairo. Our local guides Tayeb, Ayman, Waleed, and Marwa were very good, taking the time to explain Egyptian history to us (there is so much to learn) and were always on time. Local coordinators Michael and Abdel were super professional and very kind and caring. Mohammed, our driver in Cairo was amazing. As for the tour’s sights: we were very happy we saved the Egyptian Museum until the end of our tour. This was a great way to tie everything we had learned and seen together! There were limited “shopping” opportunities (papyrus, alabaster, perfumes, jewelry) and they were truly no hassle and optional. I would make sure to add the Nubian Museum in Aswan and the Luxor Museum to your itinerary if you enjoy museums. Both are top-notch and not often visited on the tour route unless you request. 3-night Nile Cruise was on M/S Royal Esadora from Aswan to Luxor. Cabin was very nice, spacious and very clean. Staff from cabin attendants to restaurant waiters/chefs, and captain were all very professional, friendly and hospitable. Food was good. Time for relaxing on board between temple visits. Roof deck pool (too cold in December) would be great in warm weather. The pyramids are a giant tourist trap but once you get past the junk sellers and the crowds, appreciate what you are seeing and be amazed. Do go to Saqqara to see the step pyramid. Very worthwhile. We added a day trip to Alexandria which was very nice. The Library was the highlight, followed by Pompey’s Pillar. Lunch at Fish Market was of high quality and taste. Our itinerary included several lunches on day tours. In Cairo at Bonne Soirée (very clean and delicious) and in Saqqara (Pyramids Touristik Restaurant). Both were very good and nice staff, clean, and enjoyable. Make sure you visit Abu Simbel! We flew down/back from Aswan and really had a great experience. It’s a fantastic site you have to see to believe. So glad we didn’t take the bus. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Magdy and Walaa again. Very professional, well-organized, responsive, and attentive. Their staff are excellent. If you’ve always wanted to visit Egypt, now is the time!

Wow what a great trip! This is one of the best if not the only way to travel through Egypt. This is a total package! Take this tour. From start to finish guides are with you at every step to show you EVERTHING. Guides are available 24/7. We were met by Mike at the airport who helped us with hotel check in. Next you meet an Egyptologist, a college graduate/historian who is fluent in English. Ayman answered all of our questions. He is filled with facts and details and explained the history of the sites we toured the Pyramids of Giza, the sphinx, Saqqara, the Hanging Church and the Cairo Museum. Being a group of 2, Ayman was able to customize our tour just for us. For example we skipped the market to spend more time in the museum and we were able to start a half hour later to catch some extra sleep. When the airline lost our luggage, Mohammad was assigned to find it. The company did not take any time away from our guide. Ibrahim Elmonir was our trained English-speaking licensed guide who traveled with us for three nights from Aswan to Luxor. There is no one better than Ibrahim. We saw the Philae Temple, High Dam, took a felucca trip, motor boat to a Nubian village, Komomobo Temple, horse carriage ride to Edfu, Valley of the Kings, Hatsheput temple, Karnak Temple and Colossi of Memnon. Ibrahim has a great sense of humor and made us laugh and feel very comfortable. Ibrahim lives in Luxor and took us exactly where we wanted to go for special deals. I wanted to buy Egyptian perfume/oils and I needed some cold medicine for the flu. Ibrahim took care of everything. Be sure to ask for Ibrahim Elmonir. You won't regret it. Hotel accommodations are good: plenty of hot water and a/c. With the lowest price guarantee you can not go wrong using this company: most meals, most admission tickets, all airline flights and all housing included. Absolutely 5 stars.

A trip of a lifetime!

We booked this tour through viator and were immediately connected with Madgy via email. This really helped as we were 4 girls that were traveling to Egypt and safety was a concern. Throughout the whole process Madgy was accessible via email and answered all our questions. The tour guides (Tamer in Cairo) and Ahmed in (Luxor Aswan) were fantastic. Both of the guides were so knowledgeable and personable that we immediately felt like they were family. Ahmed's passion for the history of Egypt is contagious, he is an excellent teacher and is able to really show you things throughout the temples that you would keep you engaged. He ensures that his guests feel comfortable and safe throughout the tour. The hotels we stayed at Mena-house Cairo, Sheraton Cairo were fantastic. The only downside to this was the cruise we were on (MoonDance). While we loved our time on the moondance, you could tell that it needed some updating (the spa was not working when we were there, the wifi is expensive, and there is essentially no entertainment on the boat except one of the 4 nights). I would like to mention that the staff and the chef on the moondance was fantastic they really do go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Overall, i am so happy we chose vacations to go for our trip to Egypt. If anyone is second guessing a trip to Egypt..Don't. Its a beautiful country with so much history and being with Vacations to go is the way to go!

An outstanding tour

We had a great time on this tour thanks to the excellent service we received from Vacations to go. Our city representatives - especially Ahmed in Cairo - and our guides Ibrahim in Luxor- Aswan and Walid in Cairo were both knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We were a family of three with 8 year old daughter and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the tour and we learned a great deal. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Our dream trip come true!

Ahmed not only met us at the airport, but insured they found our lost luggage with his professional persistence. He also made certain our 1st day and night were excellent. Talem made certain we had all our requests handled quickly and showed us every detail for 3 entire days in Cairo. Eltaib was the best guide we've ever experienced for 4 full days as we journeyed down the Nile on a cruise we'll never forget.

<p>Absolutely amazing tour! Starting from the first day getting picked up from the airport we had an amazing adventure. All the accommodations were excellent and the flights were all well planned. Shout out to our representative Ahmed and our two Egyptologist/Guides Walid and Ibrahim! I thought everyone did a superb job and we got to get to know each one of them personally as a friend. Ahmed was super friendly and gave us excellent advice on things to do in the city. Both Egyptologists knew a lot and took us to really amazing places that we were lucky enough to not be crowded with tourists.</p>

Guides were great!

Hi - my gf and I traveled to EGY and toured w Hani(Cairo) and Ahmed(Luxor). We used 5star package. It was solid. Hotels were Le Merdien and Sheraton in Cairo both very tourist friendly. If SPG plat lounge in Sheraton is a nice perk. Facilities on boat (MS Farah) were also great. Very well planned itinerary. Lots of early mornings which was good to avoid heat in South. Also, plenty of down time, especially in afternoons. Can't say enough about guides. Very knowledgeable. One was a PhD in studies of ancient antiquities!

We had extra days, Magdy customized the itinerary to suite our liking so we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it without getting stressed for time, and we utilized the time very effectively. All the guides and representatives were very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous - special mention to Ibrahim, our guide for Luxor/Aswan, he was absolutely amazing and like a dear friend. He went out of his way by making special arrangements and even helped with matters on the cruise ship. Egypt is an enchanting place, but it was be even more memorable due to the excellent vacationstogo team.</p>

<p>We had a fantastic tour guide Hani who took care of everything. Our flights group of 4were delayed a whole day, so we missed the first day of the tour. However, at no expense to us, the tour company provided for us the same tour we missed the first day. I was amazed that the tour company was so generous that even though it was the airlines' fault we were late, the tour company provided us a full extra day of sightseeing and a delicious restaurant lunch at no additional expense. I would definitely recommend this tour. It is a terrific travel bargain and the hotels and restaurants are first rate. The papyrus and carpet shops we were taken to provided high-quality merchandise. The coordination between guides, drivers, and hotels is fluid. I felt secure and confident about every aspect of this trip.</p>

<p>This was the first time when we were going for a trip arranged by a trip planner as we generally prefer planning ourselves. I must say this experience really changed our view for self vs tour guide trips. Especially for a place like Egypt: where most of the travel is related to history AND where public transport is not very well managed - it makes a lot of sense to take a tour company and really enjoy your trip vs struggling in small matters daily.</p> <p>Would specially like to thanks Ahmed coordinator and Mohammad driver, who were the main company representatives assigned to us. They were really friendly and very much caring for us. </p> <p>It was also amazing that the company provided free WiFi in the cars and trust me good internet is a big issue in Egypt as a lot of travel happens in the car during whole trip. Big thumbs up for this guys !!</p> <p>Would also like to thank all our tour guides who are actually government Certified Egyptologists - they were extremely educated with rich egyptian history and were able to answer weirdest of our questions. This also ensures that you can change the itinerary as per your immediate needs even in middle of the tour.<br/> - Ask many questions to the guides. Interactive tours bring the best stories out and make great tours possible.<br/> - Keep revising what you learn in history. As the trip progresses all dos begin to tie back and it really makes an amazing experience if you remember the things from past tours.<br/> - Tipping is a big culture in Egypt. Understand this in a good way from Ahmed when you land in Egypt and then use your discretion for managing it over rest of the days. Do not stress yourself with this culture.</p> <p>Things that can be improved by Vacations To Go Travel:<br/> - Please do NOT book Le Meridian Pyramids property for Cairo trip. I understand that you guys book it for the amazing pyramids view from hotel room but this particular property just not matches up the name. The Kempinski on Nile river is a much better option.<br/> - Please remind the tourists about the tipping culture in Egypt ONLY once and then leave rest on their personal discretion. Ensure that all people in the tour from company side who interact with tourists understand this and maybe only Ahmed who is the main coordinator and meets us first when we land in Egypt talks about it.<br/> - Ensure that you always maximise the checked in time and minimise the checked out time for tourists we understand that some adjustments are bound to happen as the overall trip covers 7 different cities in Egypt. In our case, the last day in Luxor on Nile cruise could have been managed better.</p>

What an awesome trip...

<p>What an awesome trip!! Representatives expedited all entries and departures and we felt safe at all times. The Nile cruise, Aswan and Luxor were the highlights of the trip. Our guide Mustafa was excellent - when we requested an additional tour he tailored it to fit our interests and took special care with one of our group who had a strained knee. The additional trip to Alexandria was a disappointment- long drive with little to see and do. Also the constant need to calculate and deliver tips was annoying. <br/> I would strongly recommend everyone to enjoy Egypt and all it's wonders.</p>

The staff especially the guides were so knowledgeable that they brought Egypt history to life.</p> <p>We visited most of the major sites and the optional tours and activities were managed well. If you do this tour, make sure you go to Abu Simbel and the balloon ride in Luxor. Both are well worth the early starts and the extra dollars.</p>

<p>We took the 10 day tour starting March 26, and from beginning to end Magdy and his team provided personal service that insured that our trip was comfortable, safe and everything we hoped for in our Egypt adventure. Local guides Tamer and Ebrahim were dedicated to educating us in history, culture and current events. Hotels were fabulous, mostly thanks to current US exchange rate. We enjoyed side excursion to Abu Simbel, completely worth it. Make sure you see King Tut's tomb in valley of the kings.</p>

<p>Egypt is the trip everyone must take once during their lifetime. Saw so many significant historical/religious sights that it was almost overwhelming. With respect to safety and to hospitality for Americans...I felt safer than I would have if vacationing in Germany or France. Armed police/military presence throughout the tour and all were friendly. Glad we went.</p>

<p>Extremely professional operation and couldn't have been coordinated any better. Egypt is very safe, I felt safer than being in the states honestly. The Nile cruise was sublime, all the big sites are on the list, lots of extras available and if you want to take a trip to something off the beaten path on the fly like we did, they will arrange it for you. The hotels were great quality. The sites are also fairly empty because of the lull in tourism. Honestly, if there was ever a time to visit Egypt, this is it. Some sites there was no one there but us. To sit in some of these temples without other tourists was pretty incredible. Just don't fly through Paris or Turkey to get to Cairo, use Rome or Athens and fly out using the same or Jordanian air if you're going the other direction, they take security with max seriousness which is comforting considering recent events. </p> <p>Couldn't have been better! Go see Egypt while you can!</p>

Uma viagem cultural milenar Egípcia.

Um cruzeiro pelo Rio Nilo foi espetacular. Foram várias paradas de Luxor a Aswan, a gente sente como se tivesse passeando no tempo.Vale muito, recomendo. Eu, meu marido, minha filha e seu marido, o sogro e a sogra da minha filha e seu cunhado e esposa. Foram dias fantástico.

Precariedade

Eu e minha esposa acabamos de visitar o Egito e ficamos surpresos com a forma que os turistas são tratados nos barcos que realizam o Cruzeiro no Rio Nilo. Os barcos não possuem qualquer tipo de entretenimento, a comida é péssima e a internet NÃO está incluída no valor das diárias, o cliente deve comprar um cartão com apenas 30 MINUTOS de uso de internet com péssima qualidade!!!! Se forem viajar ao Egito não indico tal “passeio”.

Los guías eran todos educados de la facultad y tenían mucho conocimiento de la historia, pero ademas acomodaron nuestras necesidades y paradas extras para que hiciéramos todo lo deseado. Realmente un tour que vale la pena y a un precio totalmente razonable. Los hoteles eran buenísimos, algunos literalmente lujosos y sus localización perfecta, como mirando las pirámides o en una isla en Aswan. Recomiendo este tour de 10 días !!!</p>
