The first part of the experience was amazing, seeing the animals, trying the boomerang and the aboriginal dance was all unique but the kuranda village shops close at 3/3:30 and pick up was at 4 so we waited for a whole hour doing nothing waiting around. Otherwise amazing morning experience as i said and amazing guides along the way. The driver was knowledgeable and kind.

Best Day ever!!

Loved seeing all of the wildlife, especially the Koalas!!! Holding one was a life long g dream. It did not disappoint, however, if not good for Koalas, I say don’t allow humans contact as they are such wonderful animals! Loved learning from aborigines as well. What a wonderful day! Highly recommend! Bb

Know Before You Go … Mon/Tues limited in Kuranda

The Rainforestation was fantastic! Plenty of wildlife to see and the cultural aspect was excellent. I cannot throw a boomerang sadly. Kuranda Market is CLOSED on Mon and Tues and the river walk was also closed. There were shops in Kuranda City Center open. Lunch places all seemed to close early presumably because there were less crowds. I wish there was something that said the markets were closed as I would’ve reconsidered.

Nice trip with option Wildlife, Aboriginal Culture and Rainforest hike. Lot of free time in Kuranda instead of activities with locals/ Aboriginals what was planned but cancelled at morning

What an amazing day out from start to finish. There was so much included in this trip, I would recommend for any age. From start to finish I couldn't take the smile off my face. I did the grand kuranda and I could not fault it one bit for everything we did that day. One if the best trips I've ever did. the food was amazing too.

Great and informative tour

Fun and informative tour. Kylie was so helpful and assisted us last minute to changes to our tour to add the skyrail and train. Bus driver Ahsit was very helpful with all the changes. The tour was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and everything that was included.

Great tour but be careful of day you book

Really enjoyed this tour, however, we went on a Friday when the sky rain and train wasn't operating which meant over half the shops in Kuranda didn't open as a result and we left earlier than a tour normally would. This did put a slight damper on the day as we weren't expecting it.

Kuranda Highlights

The morning activities were fun and well done. I always love being with and seeing animals here as well. As we chose not to visit the Butterfly Sanctuary or the 2 other animal options in the afternoon in Kuranda village, that period was too long. The extended market is basically left-over hippie style.

Average experience, I wouldn't go again

There are better places and trips than this. The name was confusing for me and disappointment because everything is called wildlife... It says here in the description of the wildlife park,but you are really only in one park (general- Rainforest) where you are are 3 section, there are fewer animals - you are done with the tour in 10 minutes, in my case it was pouring rain so the animals were mostly hidden. The only good thing is the opportunity to interact and feed the kangaroos, which is not everywhere. Yes, there is an extra performance from the aborigines and a duck ride. Experience the duck is interesting , but I wasn't impressed with the trees around as I expected,no photo shoot and wow effect didn't happen. The quality of the koala photos is also not top (extra paid-the photos are not flattering and the camera is not set up very well, I used to work on a photo booth myself and this would not pass well with my customers). Then when they take you to the Kuranda village, that's not exactly an experience either,a few shops that you can find anywhere else, no charming. To make some use of the time, I paid extra for admission to the Wildlife park there. The driver was pleasant, he just arrived in the morning about 25 min late so I was totally soaked through and feel cold (heavy rain that day) and also ended up leaving half an hour early.

We loved seeing, petting, and feeding the many kangaroos who were hopping around the facility. Also loved the koalas, and the opportunity to hold one, and have a photo taken with him. The boomerang throw was a highlight, as well as the spear throwing, and the Aborigine dancing and music!

Best of the best Kuranda Tour

The best tour 5/5!! This Kuranda tour run by Tropic Wings, it is a must to do when you visit Cairns! Everything was so perfect and well organised ❤️ Aussie BBQ lunch was soooooo good and I could not stop eating! All the staff were so precessional and friendly! I and my friends were having the best day! I’ve learned a lot about indigenous culture and their history. This was super educating and I was so blessed to get to know more about them! Butterfly garden and Kuranda market were close to each other and it was so beautiful xxx Amy duck tour was so fun as well! Definitely recommended to all the age group ❤️

Kuranda Rain-forestation, Army Duck, Aboriginal Culture & Wildlife Experience.

We did this tour with some additional extras, entry in the the butterfly sanctuary & an amazing BBQ Lunch. This is a great day out which has something for everyone, a great family adventure that needs to be shared. Thank you to Tineke, Mickey for being our wonderful guides, our coach driver and all the enthusiastic Team from the Rain-forestation Nature Park & the butterfly sanctuary. It was a very wet day but the weather did not dampen this wonderful experience. Well done Tropic Wings Cairns Tours & Coaches.

The tour was too commercial. It’s Good for children. The village has nothing to do with Australian’s first nation; it was rather hippy village…

Amazing day

We are from the UK and being able to feed kangaroos was the most amazing experience, and we also fed the cassowary through the fence. Saw a tree kangaroo and took a photo (25$) with a snake! The staff were all very friendly in the park. We also went on the armyduck tour which went on land and water, and Reece the guide of the duck was extremely knowledgeable, and we learnt a lot about the wildlife and saw tiny sea turtles. The aboriginal experience was superb as well , trying to throw a boomerang and watching the dance show. Good variety of things to do. Asif the bus tour guide however was rude when I asked him a couple of questions. Saying ‘ you’re confusing yourself ’ in a condescending tone. The reason I wanted to ask questions was coz when he was telling us the departure times on the bus he wasn’t very clear as there were quite a few times to remember, and he hadn’t mentioned he would give us a timetable with a map which had it all. Apart from that we had a lovely time. We also separately took the cable car and saw the baron falls which was lovely

Well organised tour. The pickup from and drop off at the hotel made our life easy!! All drivers were knowledgeable. My favourite: Rainforestation (thanks Chris), Aboriginal Culture and Kuranda village. I wish there was more explanation about aboriginal culture and the significance of the different paint on the body, etc.but overall, excellent tour.

Not happy for most part

Rainforeatation was a great little time and the aqua duck was a top experience . However we booked this trip.to see kuranda for the day as we were there for around 4 hours . The trip was booked by (my holiday) so the day it was on was pre booked. We had no idea that Kuranda is basically closed Tuesday . Almost everything was closed . The famous markets were shut . There was next to no food available besides 2-3 cafes open with basic food. We have been to Kuranda in the past and absolutely loved it. But this time we litrally sat around for almost 4 hours with nothing to do . Even the local pub was closed for food so we couldn't get a decent meal . The lovely hotel staff have told us they have had this problem before with your guides and they have told them numerous times to not being people up on these days as we are unaware . Please be aware of your days that the bus or any travel is taking you up there and just keep that in mind . Other than spending $200+ to sit on a bus for 2hours round trip and in a basically closed town for 4 hours it was good.

For the friendliest and most helpful guides, take this tour.

We aren’t usually a family who takes ‘guided tours’ but the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable it made for a fantastic day. They really looked after our son (6) and made him feel special all day and nothing was too difficult. Would highly recommend. Great team. And to top it off, an electric bus with solar charge to minimise carbon emissions. Top marks!

Kuranda highlights and rainforestation

Fantastic! Was extremely quiet though due to covid and travel restrictions. Otherwise everyone was super friendly and helpful and had a great day.

Rainforest

Great experience feeding kangaroos and wallabies. Got to throw a boomerang. Thought the Duck ride would be longer. Also thought we would be holding a Koala bear for the picture, not posing with it. Not much to do in Kuranda village. Thought the day could have been shorter.

Great excursion

I had a great day! The most interesting was the ride into the rainforest. The guide was very knowledgeable.

<p>This tour is a MUST if you are visiting in Kuranda. Just absolutely EXCELLENT. Our guide, Michael was AWESOME and very informative. We loved everything that he showed us while riding in the Duck, through the Rainforest. The Aboriginee experience was WONDERFUL and extremely informative. Loved the dance show and throwing the boomerangs. Just absolutely the BEST event ever. Highly recommend everyone going on this tour. The Wildlife area was so great as well. Loved seeing and hearing about all the Aussie wildlife that live here. Just wonderful. Book this tour!!!!</p>
