Afternoon & Evening Tour of Paronella Park

Amazing wonderful day and evening - highly recommend

One of the best tours I have ever done in Australia. Simon was brilliant with his local knowledge and sharing his personal experiences and family connections to Paronella. The park is fascinating and the back story is amazing. It’s all so interesting..The night experience is beautiful with the light show and music. We were also very fortunate to have a small group of 5 and really lovely friendly people who all gelled well for a long tour. Also so very lucky to have seen 4 cassowaries strolling along the road on the way to Etta Bay. All in all such a great experience . thank you Simon and Renae for putting this tour together Briiliant. A true wonderful Paronella Park experience. Well worthwhile!

We were collected from our hotel in Palm Cove & began our full day's adventure. There was a Babinda Boulder bush walk, scenic tours of Innisfail & Mourilyan, afternoon tea stop (delicious fruit cake) at Etty Bay all the while being told the amazing tale about Jose Paronella by Simon (our very friendly & knowledgeable guide) Paronella Park was a glorious garden of wonder. Lush green tall trees, beautiful waterfalls (both the Mena Creek & Teresa Falls), fantastic fish fighting for food but the evening light show with stirring music was a highlight. We were so lucky to choose this tour be back for other explorations.

Perfection!

I recently celebrated my 60th Birthday with a huge weekend of experiences, a huge 60th Birthday Dinner, and a 'Mystery Tour' to wrap up the celebrations. I chose Tropic Tours to host my mystery tour because I had met Simon on a previous visit, and he seemed like a fun person. I had guests flying into Cairns from all over Australia and from overseas, so the pressure was on to ensure that the itinerary I put together was exciting, educational and, most importantly, fun! This day out to the extraordinary Paronella Park with Simon was exceptional! Renae (his partner) worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that bookings, hotel pick-up details, payments and all of my (and their) requirements ahead of the actual day, were facilitated perfectly. The big day arrived, and this tour did not disappoint on any level. Simon is not only a really lovely man to hang out with, but he is great driver (that's more important than many think), and he went out of his way to be inclusive, entertaining, educational and great company. We didn't feel 'herded', like you often do on days where arrival and departure times are important, but the day moved along at an easy pace, and the afternoon tea (cake made by Simon's Mum!) was delicious. I cannot recommend Tropic Tours more highly. Safe, educational, entertaining and great fun. It was the perfect way to wrap up my 60th Birthday celebrations, and I will always be grateful to Simon and Renae for making sure it went off without a hitch. Perfect!

Amazing experience. A definate must do when in Cairns.

Simon is very informative, knowledgeable and passionate about the area, which leads to a fantastic tour experience. Tour included the beautiful Babinda Boulders and learning about the Indigenous legend attached to it. Then on to Etty Bay where we were lucky enough to spot a male and female cassowary. The tour concluded with a day tour of the fabulous Paronella Park, dinner at the local country pub, then back to Paronella Park for the spectacular night light show. This tour is amazing and a must see when in Cairns.

We were lucky enough to have Simon all to ourselves, very personilsed tour. Simon was so informative, very interactive and really gave us a memorable day and night. Simon and his wife Renae are incredible to work with. Renae keeps you informed on your booking and Simon is extremely knowledgeable, the man knows his tour, from the sites along the way to the Reginal details, and the back story of the entire Paronella Park existence. Exceptionally awesome Paronella Park afternoon/evening tour.

“Man” our tour guide/driver provided a safe, highly informative and fun experience. His daughter, “H” came along with us. Both made us feel like family and we had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this tour with Mr. Man!

Unique tropical tour

a unique experience! . Simon was a safe driver and competent guide. He knows everything about the flora, fauna and history of the attraction and it's worth asking him questions. The tour is of the right length, incredibly varied and shows the unique beauty of the region Swimming aswell in a wonderful lake as in the ocean was really refreshing. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed it as much as I did. The night tour km Paronella Park was the highlight of our entire vacation. We also saw two casowaries - just incredible!

The best tourguide yet!

I cannot recommend Simon and his tours more. Not only was he incredibly kind, he also had amazing social and communication skills. He was smiley, entertaining, highly knowledgeable and incredibly passionate. I went into this tour with some, though limited knowledge on Paronella, I left with massive amounts of insight and new perspectives. His hospitality was delicious and was timed perfectly throughout the tour. He picked us up out the front of our hotel, and the best thing was that it was a small group (intentionally) which really allowed everyone to learn each other's names and get to know each other. I cannot recommend Simon enough. I will definitely be returning to do more of his tours in the future. Thank you Simon for an extraordinary day!

The Ultimate Paronella Park Experience

We had an amazing day with Simon who is an incredible storyteller. We learnt so much about the history of the region which made the experience all the more enriching. We would 110% highly recommend Tropic Tours to everyone. Friends and family asked us what our favourite part of our vacation was and we say, the Paronella Experience with Tropic Tours!

Passionate and personal your guide

Simon was very passionate about sharing his knowledge of Paronella Park. He is an informative guide who has a deep understanding of the FNQ area and all things Paronella Park. We were lucky enough to spot a cassowary and a baby croc swimming at the beach. I would describe Tropic Tours as boutique, small group and personal. 10/10 recommend to travel with Tropic Tours 🙌.

Loved the insider information you'll get no-where else!

We were on Simon's Paronella Park Experience tour with just one other couple which made for a wonderful and personal experience. Simon picked us up promptly at 11am from our resort. The small and comfortable bus was perfect for the 4 of us, though us and the other couple booked individually and not for the 'exclusive' up to 4 people tour which he's now offering. We were just very lucky that we were the only 4 booked that day. Even with up to 11, it'd still be perfect. We paid $227 pp, which included afternoon tea at Etty Bay, dinner and all entry fees. Have a late breakfast or bring a sandwich for lunch. It's a full but relaxing day and we loved all the information Simon gave us, especially his family's association to Jose Paronella. Simon's very knowledgeable about the whole area. He talks, but doesn't 'ramble on' which some guides can do. Everything he had to say was interesting and relevant to what we saw. We had been to Paronella Park many years ago and were keen to return, but as we were driving, we didn't want to stay to see it at night as it's roughly a hour back to Cairns. With this tour, you have plenty of time to see the Park in the daytime, then after a delicious dinner at the nearly pub, you'll see the Park again for the evening show, and then Simon will drive you back to your accommodation. We arrived roughly at 9pm. We didn't swim at Babinda Boulders, instead choosing to walk with Simon to the Devils Pool where he'll explain why it's so deadly to swim in the pool. A wonderful and memorable day, and we thank Simon for making it so perfect.

Just the greatest

My husband and I did the Paronella Park tour with Simon and what a great experience it was - one of the best tours we have ever done anywhere. We were picked up at our hotel at 11am - a comfortable start time! - and driven south in a small van to the Babinda Boulders where we had a lovely walk to see the boulders, then on through the countryside to Etsy Bay where we were served afternoon tea with homemade cake, cooked by Simon himself. Arriving at Paronella Park we were given a talk on the history of the park and a conducted tour of the main sights, then had time to wander through the gardens on our own. Back into the van and off to the Mena Creek Hotel for dinner (preordered) on the verandah and then back to the park for the evening sound and light show, before arriving back at our hotel about 9pm. I was fascinated to hear of Simon’s family connections to the Park - made the tour so much more personal and interesting. We would certainly recommend Tropic Tours and this particular tour as you get to see the park in daylight and the evening lights as well, plus the added interest of Simon’s commentary throughout the day.

Paronella Park and so much more

We recently undertook the Paronella Experience tour with driver/guide Simon. The tour was comprehensive with a visit to the Babinda boulders and afternoon tea at Etty Beach where we were privileged to see two cassowaries. We visited Paronella Park for an afternoon guided tour, then dined at the Mena Creek Hotel for dinner. We returned to Paronella Park in the evening for the light tour. Simon's commentary was so interesting, with many insights into the history of the places visited. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to combine the day and night tours at Paronella Park and to get the opportunity to see cassowaries in the wild is so special.
