Nora is an excellent guide and we fully enjoyed both the food and the talks on Hungarian food and history. She left us with a lot of ideas about where to go and to eat for the rest of our stay. Wonderful.

It involves a fair amount of walking, which is great when you are eating so much! First thing to do in Budapest

Nora is very friendly and knowledgeable. Besides culinary information, she also shares cultural and history insights as a local. The tour’s absolutely memorable. A good amount of walking, so prepare comfortable walking shoes and empty belly.

Great tour with friendly local guide

Very nice and knowledgeable guide. Roots are Hungarian so she was able to give personal accounts of culture and history. Thank you for the great food and experience. Unfortunately I think I may have given the wrong tip as I realized when I counted my cash later. Should have been 10x 😢

We have chosen many tours through TripAdvisor and have never been disappointed. Our Culinary Walking Tour in Budapest was exceptional. Our tour guide was knowledgable and passionate about good food and where to find it. We went to a variety of restaurants from old traditional, very popular and simply fun. This tour was an excellent way to get to know the city and also learn about its history. It was an amazing tour and I highly recommend it.

An unforgettable day

This was an excellent culinary walking tour. Nora is such a lovely person, informative and interesting and interested in us as well as discussing history, food and Budapest in general. Varied stops, the right length of tour and the most amazing food and drink (loved the coffee at the end) made it a perfect day. Amazing tour!

Nora is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Hungary- people, places and food. This was one of our best food tours ever. If you’re in Budapest it’s a “not-to-be-missed “ adventure! We came back to the hotel and passed her name around. Yes, she’s that good!

Best Food Tour Yet!

This was my favorite thing we did on our recent trip to Budapest. We truly experienced food like a local, while learning both the history of the area and the culture. We ate breakfast, a huge lunch, snacks, drinks and ended with a fun coffee stop. We also had an informative walk through the Grand Market, including more snacks of course. I will be recommending this tour to any friends traveling to Budapest. It will not disappoint.

Fantastic, delicious, delightful, and educational!

Norah was fantastic! She had planned out our tour with so much thought and attention. We made 5 different stops to taste local food and delicacies. Not only did she tell us about food but she imparted so much knowledge about the history and culture of Budapest. I would highly recommend this tour, you’ll be glad you did!

Excellent tour - great food & guide

This was PERFECT way to spend our first full day in Budapest!! Nora is an excellent guide and each food spot she took us to offered delicious Hungarian fare! We are big eaters and came away very content after our 5 hour tour! We did a lot of walking but at a leisurely pace… we never felt rushed and Nora took the time to answer any questions we had along the way.

A MUST DO!

Nora was an incredible guide on this tour. This is a MUST DO in Budapest. She gave the group so much information on the history and gastronomy of the country. She took great care of us throughout the tour, which took about 5.5 hours! The food was delicious and you can see how much pride Nora (and all Hungarians) has in her country and culture. Enjoy delicious, authentic food while seeing the gorgeous architecture of this city. I would give this tour more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you, Nora! Our group had the best time.

Wonderful experience from start to finish

Our culinary walking tour with Nora was fabulous from start to finish! We visited places that we would have never found on our own and shared taste experiences that are unique to the Hungarian culture. Great gastronomic adventure

Nora was an amazing guide. We learned about the long and complex history of Hungary. We enjoyed at least 6 tastings of local cuisine, drinks and sweets. We spent time at the central market. We loved learning about paprika and purchased a number of types. It was a wonderful walk through historic Pest. It was a day well spent.

Do this tour before anything else!

This tour was an amazing introduction to Budapest and to Hungarian food and wine. Nora's passion for food really came through as did her deep knowledge of Budapest. We walked a lot, talked lot and ate a lot! It was an amazing 4-5 hours that we really enjoyed. Nora's recommendations helped us fill the rest of our stay, which is why you should do this tour before anything else! Wear comfy shoes and don't eat much for breakfast!

Fantastic food and history tour!

We so enjoyed our food tour with Nora. We really got a feel for Hungarian food traditions and history and she weaved in a lot of Budapest history during the tour. She explained the whys behind different culinary traditions and answered all our questions. Well worth our 4 hours!!!!!

Excellent Food Tour With Very Knowledgeable Local Guide

I loved this walking tour! Nora was an excellent guide who is very knowledgeable about local food and also provided great historical background. We visited a lot of interesting sites in the city and not to mention sampled so much amazing Hungarian food! From the liquers, to the wines, to the hearty goulash and langos, to the amazing market hall with the different salami and paprika, and finally ending with delicious coffee, cake and of course chimney cake! I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in food and getting to know more about the culture from a local! My mind and my stomach were both full after this great tour.

Outstanding ding food tour in Budapest

Our walking/culinary tour was such delightful experience! Nora gave an outstanding overview of the history and traditions of Hungarian food. She was so knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy sharing her love of cooking. We went to a cafe for a traditional breakfast which included a delicious aperitif called Palinka. Onto the great market hall for a salami tasting. Followed by lunch with gulyas soup and other specialties along with delicious Hungarian wines. Next came other stops for cakes, coffee, chimney cake........we were full and happy! We highly recommend this tour. Nora was amazing. Thank you Nora!

Great experience

We had a great time in Budapest - and besides the championship win for Vipers Kristiansand, the tour we had with Nora, this culinary walk was the best memory and experience. We learned a lot about history and about food and wine. Nora is knowledgeable and history becomes exciting with such an engaged guide. We went back to the market on Saturday and bought paprika spices, salami and Tokaji wine. Great memories

Amazing tour with Nora

Nora is so passionate about the food and culture of her homeland and she shared it with us. Come hungry as there was plenty of food at each stop. Mixing in the history of the food stuffs as well as spices and how they changed with each cultural (invasion) to make their cuisine what it is today is what I wanted to learn.

Lots of info, local color and food

Nora is a charming and knowledgeable guide providing insight to local history and culture. Food at multiple locations was plentiful, diverse and representative of the local cuisine. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

Enjoyed the tour. Nora was very knowledgeable, pleasant and always willing to help. Not a big deal, with the amount paid, maybe the amount of local liquor and wine can be a little more. But overall, it was a good experience.

A fabulous culinary adventure

This was a fabulous culinary adventure. A terrific mix of restaurant, cafe and market food as well an informative walking tour of Pest. We were not rushed and our dietary preferences were taken into account. There was plenty of food and lunch was an absolute standout for us, And no need for dinner that evening. Nora was amazing.

What a wonderful and enriching experience. Learned lots about Hungarian wine, and enjoyed the best of the best. I’d bought some if I could fit it in my luggage. Such a treat! 10/10 highly recommend!

Excellent view of Budapest food and drink

Nora was a knowledgeable and charming guide. We went to a number of different types of restaurants that showed us the variety of Budapest food and drinks. We go on many food tours and this was one of the best. Nora’s descriptions of each stop really added to our enjoyment of the tour.

Wonderful city tour and food tasting

Nora gave us an excellent city and food tour. I highly recommend that you do this early in your visit to Budapest as you will want to visit some of the places she points out as you walk and maybe return to some of the ones you do visit. She gave us some history of the city, tied it to the food, and also gave us some “fun facts”. We visited the market and she showed us the local produce and meat products. All our food samples were interesting and tasty. Allow 4.5-5 hours for this very worthwhile tour. Wear comfortable shoes as you do walk quite a bit and come hungry, there will be plenty to eat and drink!

Great, and tasty, introduction to Budapest

Nora was a friendly, knowledgeable and, fun tour guide. We learnt loads about the main dishes and culinary produce of Hungary as well as lots about Budapest: it’s history and it’s present. There were delicious tastings throughout the tour, which included a wonderful traditional meal at a lovely restaurant in an area of Budapest that was one of the many we would not have discovered without Nora. Nora also gave lots of great tips of where to eat, where to drink and how best to buy traditional Hungarian produce.

Great Walking Tour

We were so lucky to secure the services of Nora. My wife and I booked last minute. Despite there only being the two of us Nora kindly showed us around Budapest and gave a very informative and fun culinarily tour with some lovely food and wine along the way. Highlights were breakfast at this lovely authentic restaurant and a guided tour around the Budapest food markets. We also had a lovely lunch at a great restaurant and desert and an award winning patisserie. We love doing walking culinary tours and both agreed that this is one of the very best that we have done. Great guide, great food, great tour

This was the most fulfilling activity we had at Budapest. Nora is a great guide, she told us about the history of Hungary, Budapest and especially about the food culture. Tour was very well planned, in addition to the food stops we had, we also visited the market to see the ingredients. We had a tour in the city center also, listening stories from Nora (about the bar culture, Hungarian football, Jewish life and many more). We have tasted Fasirt (meatball), Zsiros Kenyer (open sandvich), goulash, langosh, charcuterie meats, lecso, szatrapcska and some more and also the deserts and also the wines and unicom & palinka and more. Its not be missed.

Fantastic historical, cultural, and food tour!

Nora is extremely knowledgeable about the cuisine (she attended culinary school), culture, and history of Hungary and its food. We began with a typical Hungarian breakfast at a local cafe, then went to the Great Market where we discussed paprika and other unique ingredients to the cuisine. We then walked and discussed history, ruin bars, jewish neighborhoods and influences, and had a wonderful lunch (including goulash!) at an amazing local spot. Nora really brings it all to life and is knowledgeable and passionate. A must do experience in Budapest!

Nora is a great asset to both Budapest and Hungary and a great tour guide.

Nora was just fantastic, my wife and I were supposed to go on the tour but she was sick and wanted me to go ahead without her. (Major Bummer).. I was the only person on the tour!! That made it very special, she shared a great deal of background and history on each of the places we stopped at. The great thing about the tour was that it was much more than just food. We walked by many significant attractions and at each one she discussed much more than I had heard before from other tours in Budapest. Many special thanks to Nora for a great tour.

Excellent food and walking tour!

Our food tour with Nora was one of the highlights of our grand European tour, hands down! Nora was very generous with her time and culinary expertise. We learned a ton about Hungarian food and history and got a wonderful walking tour of Budapest, as well. The food was delicious and abundant, so be sure to go hungry! There is a lot of walking, though, so be prepared. We really enjoyed the small group experience, too. Highly recommend this tour!

Great tour

Nora (our guide) was very knowledgeable. The food was authentic and interesting. There was a lot of walking, but a great way to see the city. I loved the Langos (deep fried bread) with traditional Hungarian goulash.

More than we expected!

Nora was incredibly thorough and generous with her time, information, spirit and - of course - food. She covered a lot of ground and provided us with a wonderfully fulfilling day. Ship breakfast and don’t bother planning dinner. You won’t be hungry after this tour. Highly recommended.

A Must Do in Budapest if You Love Food!

A fabulous tour because Nora is so knowledgeable. She loves living in Budapest, she’s a trained chef, and she has spent some time in the US, so her English is great. We sampled wonderful aperitifs, nibbles, salamis and sausages and had a delicious lunch in the center of Pest. That was followed by cake and coffee (we missed this as we were feeling a bit under the weather before the tour even started). Highly recommend!

Absolute recommendation

It was a very nice tour. Our tour guide Nora is a chef herself and knows much about the Hungarian cuisine and its origins. In the beginning, she asked us about our knowledge of Hungary and Budapest. As the vacation just started for all of us, Nora also indcluded some historical information from time to time. The different restaurants and the meals served were delicious. In total, it took us about 5 hours and we were able to take our time and we were not rushed. I totally recommend the tour to everyone who wants to have a true Budapest food experience with lots of ideas for great restaurants on our way. Additonally: Nora's English was very good. She spoke slowly with simple vocabulary, so my mother who is not fluent in English could understand her very well.

Simply Incredible

Absolutely wonderful day from start to finish. Nora was an absolute pleasure to be with, was just me and my girlfriend we’re 21. 6 amazing different spots and learnt so much about Budapest. Thank you so much!
