It was one of my best tours ever! If you go to Hungary, fix yourself a tour with this amazing person! I got a lot of information and funny facts about Hungary, the Hungarian people and history. He was a great photographer who never got tired taking photos of me. I really recommend him, he made me feel welcome in hís country and he also made me feel comfortable. Which I really appreciated.

Great Kickstarter Tour with Gabor

Gabor was a Great Guide. He had interesting story's and answers to every question. He adapted the tour to our interests and gave us a great overview of the city, its history and its culture. We feel a lot better with our plans for the next two days in the City and got to know this beautiful city a lot better.

Brilliant Budapest

Gabor B was a brilliant guide on our kickstart tour. He's super knowledgable and answered all our questions and more. He called in advance to say he'd be a few minutes late which wasn't an issue at all. As such he went well beyond 90mins which was very much appreciated and allowed us to learn even more about this great city. I can't recommend Gabor B enough!

Nick was the best

We had amazing 90 minutes with Nick during our Kickstart Walking tour. He was so friendly, knowledgable and smooth. He showed us the hidden parts of Budapest, which we wouldnt have found without him. It was a diversified, funny and interesting time, which flew by pretty fast.

Kickstart walking tour

We booked the 12 noon tour on-line at about 9.30am while travelling to Budapest Details around the tour asked us to meet at an address We arrived at the address 15 minutes before the stipulated time and waited to identify other tour group members or the tour guide At 12 noon we commenced asking people around us if they were waiting for a tour - none were By 12.15 we decided that the guide was a no-show, after thinking we paid around $80aud We then paid another $80 to do the hop on hop off tour which we could not really utilise other than to do a circuit as we were day trippers from Vienna and needed to catch the 16.40 train back to Vienna. Very disappointing and costly When checking my Credit Union SA account I found we were char ged Australian 169.59 cents for this non existent tour. The details on my statement are as follows - money was deducted on 5/01/2020 GetYourGuide DeutchlaBerlin DEFRG AMT 2580.000#3667(Seq.193107). On Trip Advisor the advertised price for the PRIVATE Budapest 90 minutes Kickstart Walking Tour was from $35.94 according to size of group. It took me 4 attempts the night before the tour to book on the TripAbvisor and I suspect that I was charged twice . I had no return email that night to confirm the price paid Please advise about your refund arrangements

Kickstart Walking Tour with Nicholas

Nick arrived punctually and was so polite and friendly. Luckily there was just the 3 of us on the tour and Nick enquired as to our interest in Budapest and what we wanted to get out of the tour and tailored it to suit our needs. He was extremely informative and his obvious love for the city and its people shone out and affected us all. Nick readily invited questions and checked with us several times to make sure that we were still enjoying the tour and seeing/hearing what we were interested in. Nick provided us with recommendations when we enquired as to places to eat and drink and also the locations of the Christmas markets. At the end of the tour we were all extremely grateful that we had had the privilege of having Nick as our guide and were left buzzing for the remainder of our trip as a result of this wonderful introduction to Budapest. We all wish Nick all the best for the future and would like to pass on our thanks to him and Withlocals for providing such a sterling service. Here's to our next visit! :-)

Great Tour

Found out the morning of our tour that our guide could not make it and a pinch-hitter was being sent. Uh oh! But no, it worked out fine. Gabor did a fine job guiding us through Budapest and explaining much history and the highlights. Thanks, Gabor.

Great guide... Very relaxed.. Very informative.. Very knowledgeable.. The walking tour was just the right length in terms of time and walking distance... We learnt all about the history and culture of the city and the country, and where the 'main sights' are. Highly recommended.

Gabor is very knowledgeable. Our tour was mostly on history and architecture of Budapest, Gabor covered all the important bits. I only wish we had done this guided tour earlier during our stay in Budapest.

Budapest walking tour

Although we had to cut the tour short, the hour spent with my guide Istvan was incredibly insightful. He was extremely knowledgeable of the historical aspects behind the monuments that were scattered across both Buda and Pest and his knowledge served to make the whole experience more exciting! I would definitely recommend this style of tour if you are by yourself or want a head start on Budapest!

As US citizens, what a delight to find our tour guide is from California with deep roots here in Hungary. We were most impressed, as he shared his viewpoints and knowledge of Budapest. Nicholas was a fantastic tour guide. He took the time to ask us what we were interested in and designed the tour based on our answers. He took us to some of the off the beaten path sights which were very interesting. Nicholas was a lovely, intelligent, engaging young man, any group would be lucky to hire him.

Great customized & private city tour, for an amazing price

Nick was very helpful when planning the tour and accommodated all our wishes and requests for a customized tour. The tour was amazing - we saw the most beautiful and important sights in the city as well as parts of the Jewish quarter. Nick is very knowledgeable, told us many interesting stories about the city from the perspective of a local and was able to answer all our many questions. He also gave us great recommendations for places to eat and drink. Highly recommended!

Perfect for our first morning in Budapest

This a was great tour--informative, fun, and just the right amount of walking. Our tour guide, Csilla, was wonderful. She knows all about Hungarian history and was able to answer my questions. And she took us to the best dessert places in Budapest! Who can ask for more?

Best Tour in Europe!

We booked this tour the night before arriving in Budapest. Much to our amazement this mom & son team were the only ones on this tour. We started in Pest and ended in Buda it was the best of the many many tours we had in all of Europe . Gabor (sp?) stayed with us an hour beyond our scheduled time as he saw we were truly we interested in Budapest The information on the sites we saw helped us to understand Hungary's past and was tailored to our interest by Gabor. How this tour was not booked months in advance is surprising to us. Do yourself a favor and book him immediately Har to believe .

Absolutely loved it

With fab weather and a FANTASTIC guide, it was 90 minutes of sheer pleasure. Istvan is a freelance journalist with a real eye for telling a story so he combined legend with fact. We saw architecture from each era and talked about the dictator or emperor. Even our 2 teenagers never moaned. From river went to Market Hall and ended at Great Synagogue. Thanks to our fab guide Istavan Sarusi.

Private Budapest 90 minutes kickstart walking tour

Thanks again to Zsofia who provided us with a great introduction for our first day in Budapest and allowed us to get our bearings which set us up for the next three days. Beyond the key sights and related history Zsofia was also happy to answer any other questions. Also Zsofia pointed out where to get some good but also reasonably priced Hungarian fare, which we successfully tried. Budapest is a beautiful city with so much to offer and one we hope to revisit!

Great introduction to Budapest

Evi, our guide, was very welcoming and engaging. There was some confusion at the start of the tour as she had been told we'd booked a tour in German although we had asked for an tour in English. It didn't matter though as Evi's English is excellent and she gave us a great tour with lots of information about the history of Budapest. She also gave us a list of restaurants/bars she recommended. We went to a couple of the restaurants on her list and also one of the bars. This was a great start to our first visit to Budapest, thank you Evi 🙂

We met our guide evi who was really welcoming some how there had been a mix up as we had ordered an English speaking tour and she had been told we wanted it in German but she was great and we thought her English was excellent she did apologies for the mix up but it wasn’t an issue as like I said her English was good and she was lovely 😊 we had a great tour and saw all the main sights of Budapest town she also was great with the history and had a folder full of pictures to help us see what old Budapest looked like.she also had printed us off a list of great places to eat from coffee shops to restaurants one of which we visited after the tour had finished in the Jewish quarter of town and the meal was amazing and great value too.would definitely recommend this tour as them you can navigate your own way around and know what your looking at.Thanku so much Evi for making our stay in Budapest so special ❤️❤️❤️😊

Very Interesting tour but they sent a German speaking tour guide instead of English

Our tour guide was a lovely woman who was expecting german tourists, she said she was more than happy to continue with the tour but her english was limited. She was excellent and we really appreciated her efforts but Kickstart really need to check the nationality of their customers for future reference.

Historic Lessons

This was one of the finest walking tours we have ever had. Gabor gives no canned speeches. It was like walking with a history professor. He is so knowledgeable about the history of Budapest. Because we were so interested, it inspired him and the tour went longer than the 90 minutes with so much more information and a few extra stops. He was easy to understand, answered questions, and there was dialogue. I recommend the tour, and especially Gabor, highly!

Wonderful introduction to Budapest

I had a private tour of Budapest with Andras. It was wonderful, he was extremely knowledgable about the city and took genuine interest in getting to know you and providing recommendations based on your interests. I highly recommend this tour as an intro into Budapest. Once you complete the tour you will feel better equipped to visit all of the sites and to navigate your way around the city on your own.
