Worth a visit

Well worth a visit. Beautiful building and offered interesting insight into history. Audio tour in your chosen language. Collection of tickets was clearly outlined in an email prior so just need to follow the directions and the Viator rep will meet you to organize tickets. The tour itself is run by Parliament not Viator.

Useless and lazy tour operators

The two agents were useless. They asked everyone to show up by 12:30pm but didn’t show up till 12:45 themselves. After handing out tickets, they quickly disappeared without say much about the parliament. Much better just to go to the ticket office and buy one there

The building was very beautiful and the audio guide was fabulous. It provided so much information and was very thorough.

The headset with the pictures this year was more helpful than the guide last year, but both were great!

Awesome Tour

The building itself it worth it. Liked self guided audio tour. Would do it again. Enjoyed listening to all the historical background. Enjoyed the chambers area the most. Wish it could have been bit longer.

Beautiful building but pricey Viator tour

The Parliament is beautiful, but the $60 ticket through Viator was too much. I wish we could have just bought straight from the Parliament but it seems like the tour groups grab them all first than make up the price.

Magnificent building but short tour

Beautiful building, worth the effort to see this magnificent building. However, the tour is about 45 minutes and only gives to 4-5 rooms.

Plane was delayed so couldn't make timeslot. No refund or reschedule. Don't book unless absolutely you can make it.

Purchase If You Are Unable To Purchase Directly From Hungarian Parliament

This tour is just in case you are unable to purchase tickets directly from the Hungarian Parliament. I unfortunately wasn't able to, so I am glad I was still able to tour the building via this service, but be aware that you will be paying a decent amount more. The actual "tour" is just the guides from this company purchasing tickets for you using the tickets set aside for their company, and then you follow along the tour set up by the Hungarian Parliament inside.

Must do in Budapest

Very much enjoyed it and got lucky as we visited during a State visit so that meant that we got to see dignitaries arrive as we were waiting outside for our tour and we were surprised ( and told that it’s a rare occasion) to have the entire main area of the building lit up

The tour was great. But even more important was the information provided from Viator about when and where to meet before the tour and the name of the contact person was timely and detailed. Well done!

Overpriced

I should have just bought same day tickets at the box office. I paid twice as much with Trip Advisor. The “guide” is named Manual and he basically looked our names up on a list and bought the tickets at the counter. I could have done that and saved $30 per ticket. Lowest price guaranteed is what it said on Trip Advisor. That is wrong. I’m not happy.

Such elegance!

I can't really say anything but praise to this magnificent building. I really adore this style of architecture, so stepping foot in this Parliament was a dream coming true in front of my eyes. It was actually quite funny, because in the room with the crown, there are actual MP-s walking around, doing their job, so down to earth! The guide was really great, I would recommend it to anyone! :)

Okay tour, great customer service

Tour was interesting and the audio guide was helpful. I read reviews where people complained about the communication with the company. We had a very easy time. In fact, when I was issued my vouchers they were for a week BEFORE we were to arrive in Budapest. I know that there was a no refund policy, so I was very disappointed and about to give up. I sent an email to the tour company and they responded immediately. They were able to book us on another tour the following week (which we were able to attend!). I feel that they went out of their way to accommodate us.

An amazing experience

A well organised tour showing the splendour of the Hungarian Parliament House .It was amazing , more like a palace than a government building.

Be careful booking with Viator!

Even asking which your to book prior to booking, we were nit allowed entry as wrong passport type. Wanted us to buy complete new tickets and wait for refund rather than just pay the difference. No funds to do this so lost ALL money as Viator refusing to give refund

Terrible Computer Sales

I bought a ticket for the 9th of May, the computer delivered a ticket for the 16th of May, several days after I had left. As Viator does not give refunds my money was wasted.

Great Audio Tour in English

What a magnificent building! Eye candy from all sides both day and night. My wife and I made a reservation days in advance (recommended) to take the approximately one hour tour of the inside of the building using an audio guide. It is a superbly written and spoken audio guide and worthy of this amazing building. Beautiful hallways, rooms and staircases. Be prepared for an airport security-like check in. Also, no photos in the amazing dome area.

Budapest/Hungary Parliament Tour

It was a can't miss tour in Budapest. Highly recommended. The audio guide is first rate and the pace of the tour with actual guides does not hurry you through.

Book in advance before you travel

We tried to book a tour on our first afternoon in Budapest for some point during our 4 day visit . Unfortunately even out of high season, tours were fully booked up for the next three weeks . If you queued at 7.30am, there were a few tickets held back but very much a first come first serve basis. Quite pricey too but if you have an Eu passport ( need passport to book visit) you get your ticket at a discounted price. The architecture outside is simply stunning during the day and when lit up at night . Shame we didn’t get to see inside . Maybe next time ,

amazing tour and trip advisor experience

the tour was amazing, but above all the person that Trip advisor put in charge was outstanding, we were late and he processed waited and helped us so much, truly we were worried our money had gone to waste because we took the bus and it was longer than we thought...Attila Kelemen was his name and I wanted to be sure to mention his name in the review most people would not care but this was just awesome.....

Excellent MUST DO Tour

What an incredible building and tour; so much history and beautiful architecture the tour guide was very good too. definitely a MUST DO and MUST pre book to avoid disappointment as gets very busy and booked up.

One incredible building with a visit not at it level.

The visit was good, but is too short and also it was a bit disappointing that you are not going to be the house of representative in use, you are going to see the one that is equal to the principal, that is currently not used. Every thing was fine. The only think is that the experience didn't add any additional value and you will be paying more than double that tickets sell directly by the Hungarian parliament.

Hungarian Trip

An amazing experience to see the Hungarian Parliament as it’s purely mesmerising. I’ve actually been there twice and this time was with my wife who loves it too.

RIP off charges

The tour was overpriced and the tickets were recharged at double the actual cost and were a rip off compared to the actual ticket prices with no added benefit on the tour

Tickets cost double through this agency versus buying direct

The tickets through this travel agency cost double what you would pay by buying direct be careful and there's no refund available even if you choose the wrong date by accident.

RIP off

Nothing it's all organised by the Parliament, no tour guide only audio guide provided by the Parliament and we paid double price ,the reason we were given because third party buy in advance hence they charge more for there services plus viator charges, an advise buy direct from thevenue it will cost half the price!

Disappointed and frustrated

I was notified the tour was rescheduled to another time. I was not allowed to join the tour at the original time although there was a tour guide available at that time. Therefore, I did not see Parliament.

Budapests Palace of Westminster (Parliament building)

This visit , which included multi lingual audio guides was very informative ,as well as the audio guide an actual guide accompanies you in you time allocated group.(one every 15 mins). The building is impressive and is apparently based on the uk Houses of Parliament. The visitor centre is below ground level at the side of the building and there are toilets outside. We had pre booked and printed paper tickets , so no queue at ticket office for us,as you can’t get in with e tickets.You must go to the ticket office to collect your paper one. Very expensive tour if you are from UK double the cost of that paid by EU citizens.

Other sites give better tours.

They took us up to the 4th floor, walked us across and back and then dismissed us. I learned very little about the government of Hungary except that they used to be a bi-house parliamentarian democracy and now are a single-house parliamentarian democracy. Not nearly as in-depth as the tour of St Stephen's or the Dohany Synagogue. And the best tour is of the Opera House.

Just OK

I enjoyed visiting the Hungarian Parliament Building with the audio guide; and after getting into the right line, at the right time, the tour inside was very efficient. But there was a lot of confusion between me and the others who signed up for the tour as to where to check in and pick up tickets. It was indeed in the Visitors Centre, but NOT inside and there were no markings as to where to meet anyone from Viator or the organizers of the tour. And it was raining… so not so pleasant. I was lucky because I had an earlier text from “Inez” and could text questions to her but it still was not a big help.

Be careful when purchasing Parliament tour tickets online.

Be VERY careful when booking a Parliament Tour on Viator. There are EGT and nonEGT tickets. I was not offered a choice when I booked two tickets. So I purchased what was offered online for U. S. Citizens. When we arrived at time and place, I was on the list but told I had purchased EGT tickets which were not good. After much confusion I was able to purchased nonEGT tickets and was told I would receive. refund from Viator for original tickets. Viator just sells tickets at a premium. They do not conduct the tour only get the tickets for you for entry and tour. Tour is great! No. 1 visited place in Budapest.

A great tour of the building

We booked this tour directly on the parliament building website, it was confusing but we managed to book an English audio tour for 9am, it was the only one available online about 1 month before we came to Budapest. We did notice that there was a small number of English tours available when we arrived but when we left at 10am they were sold out. Also don’t pay for the toilets inside the building as just outside there are plenty of free ones!!!. The tour was good and we learnt a lot as a family and cost £79 ( one daughter classed as a student). Print your tickets before you arrive

Nice but......

Lovely building and history. However, tour was overbooked, we booked for 2.15 didn't get going till 2.45. Too many people resulted in pushing and shoving. It was an expensive excursion so a little disappointing, but the building is fascinating and we got to see the changing of the guard for the jewels. My suggestion, make it a smaller group.

Try another retailer

Paid Viator more than double actual cost for no added value indeed just more anxiety about what was purchased. Viator representative not identifying self at venue as described in terms and conditions and having no knowledge and not able to describe tour inclusions. Complaint to Viator requesting partial refund was denied. A RIP off in a beautiful city.

Disappointed

Waited 45 minutes to meet the person to give us our tickets. After asking several people no one knew who was representing Viatar. Finally located them , they had no flags or special jackets or any identifying clothes. They did not have us on their list and did not have tickets for us. Said they have lots of problems with Viatar. We had to buy our own tickets again for the last booking late in the day. Ruined all are plans . Very disappointing. First time we have had an issue with them and they did refund our money. Not very good compensation at all

A must do tour !

The tour was good and informative and they gave you plenty of time to look around, take photos and did not feel rushed.

Tour great, check in process chaotic

The audio guide was excellent, and the history and architecture of parliament was fascinating. However the initial tour organization was a challenge, and was not communicated well. Go to the Visitors Center, but meet the tour organizers at bottom of steps right outside the main entrance to the center ( check with inside information desk to make sure, in case this changes). You do NOT stand in the inside line until the tour tells you to. This process takes awhile because tour guides collect all EU passports in advance and have to take them in to get correctly priced discounted tickets. They do not take passports from US or other nonEU countries. Once we were inside and through security everything went very smoothly.

Not recommended!!

Our tour got cancelled by your local operator at the very last moment with no meaningful explanation. That’s ruined our whole day schedule. So this tour is totally unreliable!

Gorgeous building

It was a little tricky choosing the correct group for the tour, but the tour itself was beautiful! Definitely recommend a visit to this stunning building

Lasts 1 hour inside the parliament. Very good experience. You will not see any live sessions for sure
