Nora was a great guide. We were driven in a comfortable Mercedes Minivan. Also had a nice lunch and river cruise. Learned a lot about Bedapest.

Fantastic tour with great guide!

Our tour guide Szofia was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about the beautiful city of Budapest and took her time to explain all the history and interesting facts about each aspect of the tour. Lunch was included and although my daughter is both vegetarian and has a gluten free diet, her needs were met and confirmed during the booking process. I can highly recommend this tour.

Thomas was very knowledgeable about the city and provided valuable historical information to us. He also planed the tour around traffic, parking locations, opening hours, best viewing spots..etc. so that we get to enjoy seeing the city in the most efficient and enjoyable way. Great tour…great guide

This was a good day in the company of Thomas our guide for the day. Thomas is very knowledgeable and very straightforward in his delivery style with clear and good English. We had an interesting and full day. I did not like being asked to sign to say I was happy with everything and that it was as described as we were not getting dropped off at our hotel. We were happy but ended up paying 8250 HF (ripped off by taxi)…learning curve for what was not the first attempt. …still happy with tour and Thomas who made it for us

Budapest beauty

This was the first time we’d booked a private tour and it was worth it. With sone distance between the sights, it was a welcome luxury for the six of us to be chauffeured around the city. Nora the tour guide was very knowledgeable and keen to show us the main city sights and history behind them. The tour gave us a good base from which to discover further, we would not hesitate to recommend it to others!

Customized, guide gave us exactly the appropriate amount of historical detail we wanted

we were on a business trip and only had a short two days free in Budapest so opted for private guided tour. Our guide picked us up at our hotel and quickly ascertained that we were very interested in history and gave us an excellent tour of both Buda and Pest historical sites with just the right amount of details. The lunch was very good, typical Hungarian foods with a glass of wine included. We really also enjoyed the river cruise with audio guide (our tour guide kindly waited for us and brought us back to hotel after the 70 minute cruise) I would highly recommend this especially if you are short on time

The highlight of our stay in Budapest

Our guide, Marta, was unbelievably knowledgeable about a variety of topics, particularly architecture and history. She went far beyond what was required to share her love of interesting architecture and stopped at places that were off the beaten track to allow us to photograph what we were interested in. She was also so kind and helpful to our daughter who is unable to walk far due to a chronic pain condition. We consider Marta to be a real friend.

Atilla rocks

Professional, open and in good mood the guide made us feel like we were treated by a local we know for long. The tour covers the “must see” but gives significant insights and equips you with great tips so you can then discover more on your own. The Dunabe cruise ending the excursion is a strong plus.

Amazing, a must do.

Atilla was an amazing tour guide. He took us to all the major sights and answered all our questions. We were picked up at our hotel. We had a delicious traditional lunch and a boat ride. I would highly recommended.

Fabulous tour of Budapest with very knowledgeable guide

Susan provided a 7hr tour of Budapest for myself and a friend. She arrived promptly at the start time, was very polite, and answered as many questions as we asked. She obviously knows her Budapest history and shared many many stories while showing us around the city. She had a lot of great insights and interesting “behind the scenes” stories you would not get from most tours. Lunch was delicious and I appreciated that it was a planned meal, saving us the time for tour activities. Susan planned everything to a tea and made sure we saw what we wanted to see plus some. It was pouring rain part of the time and we all got wet but she kept us interested and spirits up. She even went so far as to wipe the water off the outside of car windows when we got back in the car so our views while traveling would be unobstructed. If you ever plan on taking a tour in Budapest, this is the tour for you.

Horrible experience

We were picked up by our tour guide who was more concerned about finding a free parking space instead of showing us Budapest. She wasted half an hour looking for a free parking space, all I was thinking is I paid you $750 and you are looking for a free parking space? She took us to some park because that’s where she found a free parking space. Walked ahead of us and took pictures herself of the park. Half of the places were not shown to us and honestly it was a little difficult to see anything from the car. Lunch was at some restaurant, no menu was given us. Food was just brought out, what if I don’t eat what I was brought? Nobody asked about dietary restrictions. Our cruise was supposed to start at 2pm and we were dropped off in the vicinity at 1:08, I said doesn’t the cruise start at 2 and I was told that we can just walk around till 2 pm. All in all our tour was 5 hours and 15 minutes instead of 7 hours. I contacted Viator and customer service filled out a refund request form. The following day I received an email letting me know that the request was denied. Not even an explanation as to why it was denied. I’ve been a Viator customer since 2019 and did not expect this kind of service from them. This is the last tour that I will book through Viator.

Good, comprehensive city tour. We hit the highlights, questions were answered. Not the most personable tour guide, but she was knowledgeable about the history and the area.

Beautiful Budapest

It was a wonderful day from start to finish. Stephen picked us up at our hotel. He was very informative and he quickly changed his timings in a few areas when he found out we had walked a few of them the night before. He accompanied us on the walking areas all the while giving us the history. Susanna was our contact person and facilitated our desire to do a sunset cruise - she took the time and effort to move our river cruise portion of the tour to a later time. Great day I highly recommend this tour. Viator has never disappointed and allways exceeds my expectations!

Budapest tour

We are family traveling with 2 year old and a small service dog. Before booking the trip, we were told the dog was approved to attend. When meeting our guide, she absolutely freaked out about our dog being present and was so worried about the car more than the fact my 2 year old son who didn't have a car seat. She was very unprofessional, never introduced herself or let us know what to expect on the tour. She took us to the first stop, where she never told us will be 30 min walk, so I left the stroller and all our drinks in the car. Then she walk fast and didn't see with small child we couldn't keep up. When I politely asked her if next time she can tell me we will be going somewhere for this long so I can prepare, she started yelling at me that it is my fault because I brought the dog. I then voiced my opinion about my son not having a car seat which I felt was a bigger problem and risk to the child. After that it all just went downhill. We had earlier lunch and basically cut the 7 hour tour to 2.5 hr where she just dropped us off at the boat ferry and took off. My husband gave her tip as I didn't think she deserved. I feel she lacked professionalism and talent to be a guide person. I agree we were not the usual tourists but she could have personalized the tour to our needs. However we were happy to leave Budapest and don't think will ever return.

Such a fun and informative day, getting to know some of this beautiful city. Our guide Sofia made it all the more enjoyable.

Very good overview of Budapest.

We arrived in Budapest on the overnight train. Susan was waiting for us on the trains platform and took as straight to the bus, where we were able to keep our luggage until we could check into our accommodations at the end of the tour. Susan grew up in Budapest and has the knowledge and communication skills (and sense of humor) to give a fantastic tour. We stopped at Hero’s square, St. Stephen’s, Parliament, Castle area (including a stop for lunch) and then ended with a river cruise. The river cruise was the weakest part of the trip, mostly because Susan had already given us much more information than the boats pre-recorded tape, but it was good to see the buildings from the river side. Overall a really good way to spend a first day in Budapest, a real pleasure to meet Susan, and worked out well with our transportation needs.

Susan picked us up at our hotel - it was a great start to the day! Susan has lived here all her life and has been a guide for a very long time so knows all the history and roads to take to make the day go by perfectly. My wife and I loved the sights and all the stories behind the sights which truly made our day. Everthing was perfectly timed and we couldn't have ask for a better guide, or a better tour! It was well worth it! We felt spoiled throughtout the day. Thank you!

Worth every Forint

Sophie was very knowledgeable and informative. She stopped at the Farmers Market for me which was for me, as a chef, like Christmas and New Years combined

If you get Zsuzsa as your guide, an incredible human being, be prepared to see the amazing sites but learn incredible world history. So incredibly knowledgable. Day 1 in Budapest was so good we‘re glad we booked Budapest to Vienna and Budapest to Bratislava for Day 2 and Day 3.

before booking the store, I emailed and was told that since it was a private tour, we could kind of go anywhere we want that was not the case at all she had an order that she was fulfilling, and even though we told her we would be seeing some of the stuff tomorrow that we want to go somewhere different. She did not adhere to it so she would only follow what was on the agenda, even though we emailed and discussed it before hand definitely disappointed since there was many things that we wanted to see if we didn't get to see

Budapest tour

My tour guide, Sofia, was wonderful. Had a great tour experience with her. Unfortunately I was erroneously turned away from the boat cruise. Said I was at the wrong boat. I was at the right boat. Left me to walk in the heat back to my hotel. Not your operators fault but the boat company is awful.

Budapest OMG

I had a fabulous experience with Nina the guide. She is so knowlegeable and friendly. I felt so special as she paid attention to every detail and answered every question and made sure we visited every place as per schedule. Although the Pope was in town and some areas were restricted she manouvred and found a way to make it happen .The boat cruise was the cherry on the cake. Very well done and clearly worth it.

Susan was awesome. She brought Budapest to life with all of her knowledge and stories. It’s was also nice that after telling us a bit of the place we were visiting arranges time for us to look around and explore. We would meet back at the car and go on to the next spot. She even helped us get to the hot thermal spat after our tour was over!

Budapest with Nora

Nora is a very, personable, informative guide! She inquired what we were interested in and customized our tour accordingly. As a native, she was very familiar with the roads and was able to take us places that the large tour busses couldn't. She shared some of her family's experiences. We walked through a beautiful park, visited a beautiful bath house and visited beautiful Jewish synagogues. She chose a local,authentic restaurant for lunch. Nora also chose a delicious meal for us. The river trip at the end of the day, was perfect. We were served drinks, cruised the Danube circling Margaret Island. We thoroughly enjoyed the day with Nora!

Susan and this tour was AMAZING!

This was the most perfect tour for seeing Budapest. We saw almost all of the major sites in Budapest (on both sides of the river) and got to learn so much about the extensive history of Hungary and Budapest. We can both say we learned more during our 7 hour tour than we knew about Hungary's history in our entire lives. At many of the sites, we would get a short amount of time to look around and explore independently too which we appreciated . Lunch was also included on this tour. We went to a small restaurant where we got served AMAZING food. We had chicken schnitzel and a salad. Also, we got our first serving of Hungarian Sponge Cake which has completely ruined most other desserts for me! Now onto the best part of our tour- our tour guide- Susan. Susan was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly kind, friendly and personable. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Hungary and Budapest as well as many other topics that were brought up. At one point, we asked a question that she didn't know the answer to, and she spent her own time looking up the answer to let us know. Susan really made us feel so comfortable allowed us to have such a great time. She spoke amazing, clear English too which only added to the stellar afternoon we spent with her.
