Christine was our guide on a six hour whirlwind luxury van tour of Budapest for my wife and I, two of my wife’s siblings and their spouses. Christine was deeply knowledgeable about the history of the city, its arts and architecture. We hit all the highlights we wanted to - Mattias Church, St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Grand Synagogue, the Opera House and the view of Buda from the hills of Pest. We were fortunate enough during our tour to enjoy a brief recital at the Opera House, with beautiful arias from Madama Butterfly and other classic works. Fabulous insights from Christine and Laszlo, our driver, dropped us off for brief walks at each of our stops, and picked us up immediately at convenient stops. Great tour of Budapest

Would highly recommend this tour. Christina took our group of 10 all over Buda and Pest on this 8 hour day. We walked a good amount and were in and out of the comfortable van throughout the day. Can't be beat! 1st class way to tour Budapest

Zoltan was our guide and driver and I highly recommend it - we diverted a number of times when we just found something interesting. He knew about all those too. The car was a perfect Mercedes - quiet, spacious just like you would expect. Zoltan was even there early to pick us up from our hotel.

Excellent City Tour with Stephen The Tall Man

excellent city tour with Stephen the tall man, he lead me to the hero's square and told me the history. He lead me to Gellert-hegy to show me the general view of Budapest. He lead me to Országház to show me the policy of the country. He also show me some castles and told me stories of vampires. It was very good experience traveling with Stephen.

Perfect day in Delphi

We were picked up right on time and whisked away to Delphi. Our driver did a great job getting us there and orienting us before we went off on our own at the Delphi site and museum. Afterward we opted for the included lunch which was delicious in a restaurant with an incredible view. And then safely back to our hotel.

Hassle-free and efficient tour

Christine was an excellent and very accomodating tour guide. Her deep knowledge of history has enriched our experience even more as she is able to put context into the statues, monuments, and buildings that we went to. It was overall a very efficient tour as I felt we’ve covered all the Budapest essentials in just a day. Peter was also an excellent driver. He is always on time and picks us up at the most convenient locations.

Great driver and great tour guide. Very informative.

Took us all over the City. Bridges, palaces, many major sights. Budapest is a very beautiful city. We are elderly and it was a full day tour. We could hardly make it 6 hrs. and had to call it quits because of my husbands ability to handle the walking. Wish we would have done this when we were a little younger. We truly enjoyed the tour.

Spectacular and flexible Budapest tour

Best day tour in Budapest

Our driver was Iuve and our guide was Christine. We spent six hours exploring the beautiful city of Budapest. History, culture, the arts, entertainment - Christine made sure that we experienced as much as possible while structuring our day to maximize our time. Meanwhile, Iuve kept us safely and efficiently on schedule. We were throughly impressed by Christine’s breadth of knowledge, as well as her love and passion for her heritage. We asked for a “fun, casual lunch” mid day, and Christine took us to an extraordinary indoor/outdoor marketplace that was tourist heaven. This tour was very worth the price, and we finished our day with our minds full of information and our phones filled with magnificent photos.

I booked a 4 hour private tour of Budapest with a Mercedes Van since there were four of us (two couples). We had an awesome day touring around Budapest. Our guide showcased what the city had preserved, the very rich culture and what it can offer to visitors. Budapest City Tour

We had an awesome day touring around the Budapest with Gabor or Gab. He was very pleasant and informative. We think of him as very professional. It was a superb experience to have travelled this far to Budapest and get to have historical information about the city. He showed us most of the wonderful nook and cranny part of Buda and Pest which some of the tourist might failed to do if they only rely on blogs or other social platforms. Great friendly service

Our hotel recommended we use sweet tour and we were highly impressed. Our guide Balaj is extremely professional and knowledgeable with over 14 years in the business. The car used is super comfortable and clean. We did 2 tours over 2 days. The first of Budapest and second of the wine country.

Wonderful tour!

Budapest 2019

Gabrielle gave us a spectacular 6-hour tour of Budapest. We had a car and walking tour which I highly recommend for any future traveler because Budapest is really spread out and it is very difficult to get around to see all the major sites by walking. We also believe 6 hours was the right amount of time. But be careful because if you go in the busy season there is a could be a lot of traffic which could impact how much of the city you can see.

Budapest day tour!

Without doubt Budapest is a gem to be explored in Eastern Europe. We had booked a private tour for the day to discover all the historic and important sites of the Budapest. Arriving promptly on time, we were warmly welcomed by Eva and her driver that made us feel very welcomed and with such a friendly atmosphere we had a fantastic start! Eva is the best story-teller with a wealth of knowledge about the history of world. The tour was extremely well-planned and was flexible at the same time, which allowed us to be on our own schedule and for that she deserves a special thanks. A day in Budapescht

Great day our driver was awesome so very knowledgeable. Drove us everywhere we ask, took us to a great restaurant for lunch where I enjoyed the most delicious foie gras ever. All in all a great day.

Awesome way to see Budapest in a Day

Christine our tour guide made sure we immersed ourselves in Budapest on our full day tour. We started at 9a at our request and then she asked us if we had any special interests. With Steven, our driver, she took us to Buda and then to Pest. She spent the whole time teaching us about a city that she obviously loves. This tour allowed us to see all of the main sites of Budapest and decide where we wanted to go more in depth later. We did not go into the Parliament building but did explore Buda Castle and the basilica. My suggestion is to pair this with a evening dinner cruise to see the city in a different way under the lights. This tour allowed us to save hours of walking with a very efficient way across town while getting a history lesson between every stop.

Our tour guide was Kristina, she was very knowledgeable and passionate about Budapest. We got to see many things on the tour, it is a little tiring, but if you are limited for time, the tour is excellent. Kristina was very engaging and kept us interested throughout the tour. I would highly recommend her.

Private Tour & Airport transfer was the best.....

We had 5 days in Budapest and arranged Sweet Travel for airport transfers and a 4 hour private tour. They are a highly professional and excellent team. Prompt, very clean and professional drivers. You cannot go wrong using them. They drove Mercedes vehicles. I highly recommend their services in Budapest and would use them again.

What a great day!

Our family of 4 including 2 teen age boys were picked up by Adam(driver) and Kristine. We had a fantastic day, on our private tour of Budapest! Wonderful private care tour of Budapest

We took the private day-long tour in April 2019, rather than the free offering from our cruise ship. I highly recommend this option even though it was somewhat expensive. There is a lot to see in Budapest and you need to cover a lot of ground to do it properly. With a driver and a separate tour guide, we were able to drive right up to many sites and then get an informative tour. When we were done, the car was waiting to take us to the next site. Our guide was obviously a historian and very, very well informed. We learned a lot about the various sites and the history, culture, and social trends in the country. The only reason that I hesitated initially to rate this tour 5 stars is that our guide's accent was very strong and we struggled to follow her. That said, I would highly recommend this tour even with the same guide.

Review of Private Sightseeing Tour

If you have one day in the city and want to see as much as possible, this is a great way to go! Our guide, Ilona, was so knowledgable and so wonderful to get to know with her personal stories, and our driver was excellent as well. We bought Parliament tickets and arranged a stop there on our tour, after lunch. That worked very well. We learned lots of Budapest history in only one day!

Fantastic way to see Budapest!

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Michael (Mihaly). We literally had only one day to see Budapest. Thanks to Michael, we saw many of the highlights, including fabulous views of the city, the Parliament, Liberty Statue, etc. He knew all the right places to go. He tailored the trip to what we wanted to see, including the Roman ruins as my husband loves history. He was incredibly knowledgeable, giving us detailed information about history, language, culture, etc. The tour was worth every penny and I highly recommend it. We tried Hop On Hop Off buses in other cities, but they just don't give you the same exposure to the city and its people. Instead, take this tour!

8 hour Private tour of Budapest

Our guide, Dora Gabor was outstanding. He provided us with a very comprehensive and engaging tour of Budapest. We traveled very comfortably all around the city and were able to spend as much time as we liked in different areas and historical sites. At the completion, we felt we had received an excellent historical view and insight to this wonderful city. This tour was well worth the money.

Lux it up!

Hey, it's hot crowded and stressful being a tourist. Why not treat yourself to a private tour in a luxury vehicle. And you can call the shots. Tired of the crowded tourist sites? (We were). Tell your driver/guide to take you on the road less traveled. We checked out the Roman coast of the Danube and Szentendre - a beautiful small village north of the city. Budapest for the day

We toured Budapest with Christine and she was excellent. Easy to understand and accommodating to our likes and needs. She is well versed in the history and our driver was outstanding. He could drop off close to the sites which was very helpful for my mother who is 86. Lovely day exploring and enjoyed a great lunch. Highly recommend.

Budapest, Hungary

My husband and two older University daughters were interested in learning more about the history of Hungary. Krisztina met us along with Lazlo the driver at our hotel. Krisztina was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about sharing about her country. A SWEET private Tour of Budapest

Our private tour of Budapest with SWEET travel was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide MICHAEL was extremely knowledgeable and had a warm friendly personality. We now have an extensive overview of the city so we can return to sights of particular interest. A Great Taste of Budapest in a Day

Together with my husband and two friends, I visited Budapest for a four-night stay from April 10th to 14th, 2018. As none of us had visited Budapest before, we decided that we would book a Guided Tour of the City. A month or so in advance of our trip, I asked our hotel (The Boscola, in Pest) for a recommendation for such a tour - with a car/driver and a Guide. The hotel recommended we use Sweet Travel and, having sent me the itineraries on offer, they made the booking for me. I requested a 6 hour tour to run from 10:00 to 16:00. The people-carrier and its driver and Guide were already waiting for us outside the hotel at the appointed time. The very comfortable air-conditioned vehicle was sparkling clean, inside and out. The male driver was very competent and I felt totally safe whilst he was driving. The Guide, Eva, was excellent! I would strongly recommend that if you decide to book a tour with Sweet Travel you should request Eva as your Guide. She is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Budapest’s fascinating history. Eva speaks Hungarian, English, French, Spanish & some Portuguese. Eva’s delivery is full of fact but she makes it entertaining, too. Our tour covered both Pest & Buda. We chose the 6 hour tour as one of our group has Parkinson’s Disease and therefore tires easily but an 8 hour tour is also offered. At the end of the tour we were asked where we would like to be dropped off and we chose our hotel. So far as lunch is concerned, I would recommend that you eat a good breakfast before setting off on the tour and then, when you are in Buda, ask Eva to take you to Empress Elizabeth’s favourite pâtisserie near the Matthias Church.. The pastries there are out of this world! The cost, per person, for our tour, including the Guide’s fee, the car and the driver was 18,600 HUF (Hungarian Florints) which at today’s (16.4.18) exchange rate is just under £52. Brilliant value for money!

Great tour guide

Our tour guide Eva was fabulous. Gave us a history lesson that was both entertaining and informative. My teenage daughter actually enjoyed visiting all of the main tourist attractions. Also obtained a keen understanding of the Hungarian people. Had a great day. Also car was clean and driver was helpful and courteous.

Excellent tour with a wonderful guide

My wife and I visited Budapest on a day trip from Vienna. Our guide, Gabor, met us at the train station holding a sign with our name on it. From there we hopped in a nice Mercedes-Benz and began our tour. Gabor was very knowledgeable (he was born and raised in Budapest) about the city's rich history, both the good and bad. He made sure to show us so many different aspects of the city and shared some of his personal experiences of living in the city during the Soviet's communist era. We loved our experience and plan to return for a longer stay to really get to know the city better.

Budapest Vacation

WOW, what a great tour!!!! We were pick up at hotel on time and actually extended the tour by 45 minutes simply because we didn't want the tour to end. Vera-Eva was fantastic. From the first minute we could tell Vera-Eva was very knowledgeable about Budapest. But she also shined as we discussed Hungary's and Europe's history. This is the way to see Budapest!

We did some research on Trip Advisor to see what was on offer from the top-rated tour providers. We selected a couple of companies and included Sweet Tours since our agent had booked them for our airport transfer. We asked them all to design a private one-day tour for us hitting all the sites we most wanted to see. By far the most professional and helpful replies were from Sweet Tours. Our guide, Belasz was waiting in our hotel lobby on the appointed time. We talked a little about our itinerary and he suggested a route that would not only get us where we wanted to go but also to several of our B-List places. He also took into account the rainy weather and got us to the outdoor sites before the rain got too bad. We were very comfortable in the newish Audi A-6 he was driving. He took us to a really good self-serve restaurant in the Castle Hill district. During the drive he answered all our questions with lots of anecdotes about the history and current affairs in Budapest. I felt we were getting an honest opinion and interpretation of both. Our day ended back at our hotel right on time. Very good value for the money spent.
