Great tour covering over 40 points of interest

Great tour with well informed guide Victoria. As well as showing us the shiny tourist side of Budapest she also took us the rougher bits too. Explaining what life is like for the average Hungarian who are often living in crumbling buildings. Very interesting though. Would not recommend this tour for anyone who has difficulty walking and standing for long periods. It’s 2 and a half hours and you cover slot of ground stopping at over 40 sites. A great way though to get a good flavour of the city so you can go back and explore more later on.

Don’t judge a tour by its price or a tour guide by their age!

The tour was very cheap and you don’t get what you pay for…YOU GET MUCH MUCH MORE! On meeting the tour guide Attila, I wondered what a young gent would be able to impart to the group and was very pleasantly impressed with his historical knowledge. Equally impressed with the length of the tour and the amount we were shown and told about. So much we would have missed if we had wandered around ourselves. Not rushed and very relaxed tour. Highly recommend.

Very good!

Very good and enjoyable trip. Our guid Antilla was nice. Strongly recommend the tour. It was a little bit too long - 2.5 hours. I think that walking tours should be 2 hours maximum.

Great Pest Tour

Great tour offered by Sabi! He was super nice, knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommended! We did the Buda tour the day before and this Pest tour was the perfect complement to learn and appreciate beautiful Budapest.

Fantastic esperience

The storyline by the guide was fantastic as his command of the english is good. It was a long walk, tiring but satisfying. We get to see the highlights of the city and the food were very good.

Budapest Walking Tour June ‘24

Spent a wonderful afternoon walking around the main parts of the city with our guide Sabi. He was extremely knowledgeable with amazing English and happy to answer any questions and give any hints and tips on getting around and the places to visit. Well worth doing to open your eyes to this beautiful city.

Budapest walking tour.

We arrived in Budapest the night before and the walking tour was a good way to get our bearings. The guide was very informative with tips about public transport and places to visit. I feel we gained a good knowledge of the city which we might otherwise have missed.

The best Introduction to Budapest

It was a really terrific tour and a great introduction to the city, It was quite a small group which was so Much better than these huge groups you saw around! Our guide was Attila and he was great - knowledgeable and interesting and also extremely helpful. He even helped me out in his own time at the end of the tour. So thank you Attila- you are a really good guide!

Detailed history and hidden sights of Budapest

Easy paced walking tour with an historian expert (University lecturer, Victoria) who showed us places we'd have never found or understood ourselves without explanation.

Great tour - thoroughly recommend

We joined the tour on Saturday morning with Victoria - a Brit living in Hungary with her family for >20 years. This enabled her to provide a really interesting insight into the historical buildings we visited and the relevance of the city’s rich history and its impact on current events. Such an interesting rich history which Victoria introduced us to in a very professions considered manner - not a surprise to find she’s also an academic at the local uni.

Excellent historical overview

Victoria had lots of information and I loved learning about the history of Budapest! She had a good sense of humour, despite a couple people being rude to her. Would highly recommend for those looking to learn more about the history of the country.

Sandra our tour guide was amazing. She had indept knowledge of the city and its history. I will return and recommend to friends and family.

Good tour of the Pest side of the city

A knowledgeable guide, took us to a load of great places. Our tour group was small on the day, but I guess that's a bit pot luck for these types of tours... Our guide gave us his reccomendations of what to to and an order of "importance" of things to see for those of us whose time in the city was limited. That really helped us make our decisions for the later part of our trip on what to do. Note: the overall title of the tour is Budapest walking tour, but I didn't know the city and didn't look at each itinerary stop closely, so was a bit confused when we only saw Pest, not Buda. We had to book another tour of Buda side later that day ( luckily one was available!) I don't think it's a bad thing because it's such a huge place, you couldn't walk all of buda + pest main sights in less than 4 hours and even that would be a slog in a big group without proper break. But watch out that you realise this tour is only one half of the city and it doesn't take you to castle or Fisherman's bastion. Deffo this part of the city is worth a morning's tour, though. We learned lots and saw some key sights on the Pest side. Only other quibble is, it was an English speaking tour but we had two Italians on the tour and he spoke to them in Italian, which meant the rest of us just had to trail behind for those bits of the tour. Of course he did the main stops in English, but we'd have enjoyed it a bit more if we could have interacted with the tour at all points. having said that... it's a free walking tour so all it did was meant we maybe tipped slightly less than we would have, so it's minor point. Overall a very good and informative tour. Loved the "top" list, the info about public transport and a couple of other tourist tips. That ended up being super useful. 4.5 stars from me.

Best decision to do this tour !

I came to Budapest and had the immediate feeling, that life in the city might be toy different than to the countryside. Victoria gave as a really good insight on history, politics and everyday life with all its challenges during the ages of time. Now i feel that I have better understanding of the culture and can better understand behaviors due to history. For my son (13) and me this was the best introduction to the city and country and we enjoyed listening to Victoria, who is a real expert in the field. Thank you so much!

Our tour guide Victoria, was excellent. We learned so much about the turbulent history of Hungary. Victoria is passionate about the country and delivers her knowledge with clarity, enthusiasm and feeling, along with a suitable sense of humour. Walk About Tour of Budapest

Victoria was great. She was knowledgeable about Hungary's history. The walk was fast paced so we saw a lot. Patiently waited for stragglers and answered every question. There were four in our group (17 on the tour) and we were all happy with our walk about in Budapest.

The tour was excellent. I highly recommend to do it at the beginning of the stay in the city. I can’t fathom that so few people give tips. I feel for the guides and worry that this model will eventually go out of business.

Pleasent Tour

Historic tour with Victoria. She has a lot of knowledge and an Ok humour. Sometimes you get the feeling that she is on autopilot. Victoria is British and very easy to understand.

Our guide Victoria was very friendly and was able to share her extensive historical knowledge of a very complex history of Budapest. She has also lived in Budapest for 20 years so her social history and experience was very interesting too.
