Great introduction to Budapest

I did this tour last week and loved it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Every stop we made was enhanced by either an historical explanation, or some fun facts. We were an international group, and the guide had a story for every nationality. The stop at the strudel house was a great experience, and I was able to taste strudels with different fillings, some of which I didn't even know existed. I definitely recommend Absolute Tours and this tour in particular.

Highly recommend this tour. The groups are small so you get more out of the experience. Greg the guide was extremely knowledgeable and clearly loved his home city. He was very patient with the questions being asked. The strudel was delicious. We did this tour at the start of our holiday and it gave us an excellent idea of where we should go on the rest of our trip. If you want to do a tour in Budapest do this one!

Amazing trip

Our tour guide Balazs was the best, he explained so many things, he made the tour so interesting. The strudel was very good, we really enjoyed the trip.

Great tour with great strudel

Andi our guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and packed a great tour into about four hours. We covered a lot of ground which included trips on the tube network and the buses. Andi’s description of the shoes by the Danube was particularly moving. The strudel stop was much appreciated. Delicious savoury and sweet options. Overall it was great value for money.

A great experience

Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaged the whole walking group with ages 21-75. We learned a lot about Budapest. I would highly recommend the tour.

Fantastic walking tour of the city

I had intended to do this tour as soon as I arrived in Budapest, but a flight cancellation meant that I had to reschedule to the last day of my trip. I am glad I did, as our guide Balazs was very knowledgable about all the sights, and helped to "fill in the blanks" on places I had seen but was unaware of their history. Also, the strudel stop was fantastic!

Definitely worth the time.

Anna as a tour guide was exceptional. Her depth and breadth of knowledge provided us with a deep understanding of both Buda and Pest. She created a well organized plan to maximize the experience and time together. She was well prepared with the travel plan that included the metro and city buses.She was an excellent communicator. She had good sense of humor and a warm and friendly demeanor. Be prepared to enjoy a broad view of the city with a delicious streusel stop.

A Must-Do Introduction to Budapest

I can't recommend this tour enough. Our guide, Anna, was a real pro: gracious, excellant english, extremely helpful and knowledgeable with a great sense of humor.

Very nice Tour and very nice guide

We were a small group of six people and had an absolutely wonderful tour. Our guide, Palasz, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Great introduction to Budapest!

This tour is a great intro to all the top attractions in Budapest. At each stop our guide provided a bit of history and information. We would recommend this tour to first time visitors.

Excellent tour, almost 4 hours. Got a great overview of the city, lots of history. Nice stop for drinks and pastry. Our guide Esther was fabulous, spoke great English.

Worth the money

Excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide. Made the visit very interesting. Explained the history of the Jewish quarter very well. Very pleasant. His English was flawless and easy to understand.

I had a great time on...

I had a great time on this tour led by Monika. We had a group of five friendly people from three continents. Monika was outstanding!! She took us on a fantastic walking tour that included a few very easy trips on public transportation. Monika offered a very interesting perspective on the places we visited and Hungarian history. I have read my share of history and have some knowledge of the places we visited. With that said, I found Monika’s commentary to be very smart, succinct and insightful … she really helped me understand what I would consider to be the mainstream/balanced Hungarian viewpoint of their history and present. I found it particularly interesting to hear her stories of growing up in the city towards the end of the communist era. What a great tour!

Great overview tour of main Buda and Pest sites

Great tour exploring Budapest. Gregory was a wonderful tour guide, knowledgeable and friendly. We saw sites on the Buda and Pest side. The strudel break was delicious as well. We really enjoyed the tour!

Tour was ok, but certainly nothing special. Guide lacked energy or enthusiasm and did not talk much between various stops.

Petra was amazing. She conveys Hungarian history extremely well and is passionate of her country. Her English is very good, she enunciates very clearly and she ensures the entire group is included. Highly recommend her tour

Awesome tour. Great use of time!

What a wonderful tour! This tour takes you to most of the major sites you would expect to see in Budapest. You even get to ride Budapest's beautiful metro under the guidance of the tour operator. Andrea was our tour guide and she was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and personable. The strudel stop exceeded our expectations as we got to try multiple different flavors. Tour is 100% worth the money!

Wonderful tour experience!

Andre was a perfect guide! She called us to check that we were coming because we made a couple of wrong turns on our way to the meeting spot in front of the opera house. We were only a block away when she called, but it was so good to know someone was looking for us. The tour was informative, thorough, and she provided our metro tickets for the subway and the bus we used to hop around the city. The visit to the Strudel shop was wonderful - much better than I expected. Then she went above and beyond the call of duty to get us on the tram to the next site we wanted to visit AFTER our tour and before her next tour. Definitely 5 stars, definitely would recommend to others. Thank you Andre!

Fantastic and informative tour of Budapest, a truly lovely city!

Andrea was just incredible. So friendly, helpful and informative about Budapest, clearly a city she loves. Budapest has a wealth of history and Andrea brough it to life. Well worth the experience.

Outstanding overview of Budapest.

The best walking tour we’ve ever done and a great overview of Budapest. Monika, our guide, was outstanding. She showed us how to use public transportation to get around, we saw all the major sites — which would not have been possible with just a walking tour in this sprawling city — and provided so much information about the people, the culture and history. It was an amazing overview and gave us the blueprint for our remaining days. Couldn’t recommend it and her more highly.

We have taken many walking tours over the years. This tour was by far the best we have ever taken. Our guide Monika was exceptional. She had a great sense of humor, answered all our questions and took us on a comprehensive tour of all of Budapest. This was made possible by using public transportation and Monika showed us how to use it and explained the various routes and lines. The strudel stop was a great and yummy break. Before the tour we were a bit overwhelmed by Budapest. After the tour we knew what we wanted to do with our remaining time, had an idea of where everything was, and knew how to get there. I cannot recommend this tour enough. I’d give it six stars if I could.

Amazing Jewel

Monica (The Very Attractive Lady) was an exceptional tour guide. The tour was very well managed and packed with information. We visited more than 4 times the sites we could have visited on our own. Monica’s excellent knowledge of the city’s history and culture and her extremely pleasant personality made for a wonderful experience. Her self disclosure of her childhood during the communist period through Budapest today brought the history to life. She absolutely stole all of our hearts. She’s an amazing Jewel!

Great explorer tour.

How fabulous was this tour! Great value for money! Our guide was super real fountain of knowledge. He was able to give us so much background into the history of Hungary and help us to see how Hungarians live their lives now. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. We used the trams the buses the subway and we walked. Fantastic Strudel in the tour was a bonus!

Excellent orientation walk to Budapest

Andi led a walk that exactly fit our needs. Great orientation to primary sites, provided great historical and cultural context and answered questions in a friendly and accommodating manner. Would definitely recommend it!

Great experience

Our guide Monika was excellent. She was informative and engaging. This is a perfect tour for someone who wants to obtain a “birds-eye-view” of the city. Definitely bring your walking shoes. The strudel stop was a nice break and a good time to talk with the other tourist on the tour.

Fun and informative

Greg was a wonderful tour guide and being in a small group of 10 made it much more personable. He was so informative and friendly. We felt like we covered hundreds of years in a few hours. It made us much more aware of the city and it’s history. We also loved the strudel stop… Yum! Thank you.

Visit Budapest

Had the most wonderful walking tour in Budapest … Budapest is a lovely city filled with all these castles palaces, churches, etc…Our tour guide was great - gave us a lot of information about Budapest… It was truly a learning experience!!! Had a taste of the authentic Hungarian strudels in a beautiful strudel house… A well- recommended activity!!!

This is exactly what we were hoping for. Our guide, Balázs tailored the trip to ensure it met all our expectations. He was knowledgable and well organized. The Strudel stop was great. By the end of the tour we had a list of things we wanted to go back and spend more time at, the the ability to use the subway, trams and busses to get there.

Fantastic informative Budapest tour

Very informative and relaxed walking /bus and rail tour . The later two to get us to the places of interest quickly. Eszter was an amazing guide, I believe the best we have had . Good English and knew all the answers to any questions that were asked . Highly recommend this tour. Good size also. Maximum 10 people. Lots of various strudel was offered

Easy walking tour. Great Strudel shop!

Petra met us and charmed us! We were delighted by her in-depth knowledge of not just the sights, but also how they fit within the history of the country. We were ‘painted’ a picture of the time in which they were constructed and first came to prominence. Highly recommended!
