Great experience

Our driver Stephen & guide Matthias made this tour so enjoyable for us. Matthias had such knowledge, tips & beautiful spoken English had us engaged from the start. Would highly recommend

Just an ok city tour

This tour was just ok We started waiting over 20 minutes for a few folks that we late.. and then same folks late again getting back to the group when we had a little free picture taking time The guide gave highlights in 2 languages which was cumbersome. It would have helped to have audio headsets to hear better. It was cold out and we stopped at random locations for her to share info, that wasn’t that relevant to location.

Worth it

It was a crappy rainy day and we are so glad to have booked this tour. It saved us from a wasted day. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and showed us around well.

Awesome city tour! Our tour guide Matt was very knowledgeable. The description of the trip on Viator was spot-on! Wish we would've had alittle more free time but it was still worth the money.

Synagogue tour

Wonderful guide. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and had a good sense of humor. She made the entire experience enjoyable and educational. She was obviously passionate about the synagogue and Jewish history in Hungary.

Poor

Had the impression that the group was just being herded from one place to the next, tour guide walked quickly without checking that people were close behind, little chance for photos, many things pointed out were gone before we could see them. Several people had disabilities but these were ignored when he was racing up the steps to the castle, one woman who was very angry and upset was basically waved away for pointing out that no mention was made that the tour was unsuitable for such participants. His knowledge was good, but not a good tour guide!

It’s a 2 hour tour with 1 of the 2 hours walking despite being advertised as a 3 hour tour with 45 minutes walking.

Tour was supposed to start at 10am. But tour guide arrived and went to each guest to discuss adding an one hour Parliament tour at the end. Those who agreed were sent to the office to buy tickets. We then walked about 5 minutes to the bus. The bus didn’t get on its way till 10.16am. By 12.30pm everyone was deposited at the Parliament building even the ones who didn’t sign up for the Parliament tour. They were not dropped off at the starting point as advertised and you need to make your own way from the Parliament building. The 45 minute walking tour of the castle area was more than an hour. Our guide has mobility issues and needs a cane to help her move slowly along so the group has to stop and wait for her to catch up, catch her breath etc. So, at most, it’s a 1 hr bus tour plus 1 hour very slow walking tour of the castle district.

Highly recommend this tour

The 3-hour City Tour is a great tour to see the most important sights in Budapest. We also had time to walk around the Heroes' Square and later on Castle Hill by the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church and take pictures. Our guide Emese and driver John were excellent. We highly recommend this tour.

Budapest tour overview

Great tour guide with overview of Budapest and wonderful driver. Comfortable transportation. However had 2 very discourteous passengers who were 20 minutes late getting back to the bus after short walking tours (and even the guide went to look for them) and never apologized to the group when finally getting back. So very inconsiderate! Wasn’t the tour’s fault so that’s why I didn’t rate lower.

Our Tour Guide Elisabeth was great, she made the tour in two languages German & English. Great Tour, very interesting.

A quick tour of Budapest

The guide was fairly old and really struggled with anything outside the script. He was very nice and he gave us a lot of information. But he really struggles if something out of the ordinary happened. I would recommend the tour because you might not get the same guide.

Upclose and Personal

What a delightful tour in an air conditioned bus with comfortable seating. To our delight our tour guide, Mike was local and very informative of the historical eras and areas of Budapest, including people, lifestyle, and architectural history of buldings, including its more colorful tales. It was a very inexpensive way to see the sights and sounds of Budapest. We made several stops for photos and a short walking tour. A great way to give your feet a break plus a wonderful overview of the city's history, grasp of location to determine which sites you would like to spend more time. We highly recommend.

Best city tour experience I've had in any city I've visited.

This was my third time in Budapest, we used the city tour from Cityrama for the first time. I highly recommend this tour because in 3 hours with a van and stops all around you can see all of Budapest important places. The Pest and the Buda side! When we finished the tour I was amazed how many things I missed during the first two visits. Anyone who comes to Budapest use this tour and enjoy the city to the fullest! Our host mr.Gunry Very had the best knowledge of the city and the history of Budapest and Hungary.

Nice

The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable but the tour itself was average. Nothing really unique or special. So if you pick one tour of the city you'll likely get repeat information if you do more than that.

Not very informative

This tour could be much more informative than it was. A better expenditure of time and money would be to spend one day at the Buda Castle taking in the several museums available at that location. A second day could be best spent at the Basilica of Saint Stephen’s, and the parliament building.

Tour cancelled

I booked this tour 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived to the meeting point the tour was delayed and after 30 min we were informed that the guide didn't show up and the tour was cancelled. Very disappointing because we had our day planned. We were offered to do the tour 4 hours later. We arrived on time and the tour was again delayed ~30 min and the route of the tour was changed without previous notice. The new guide that they found as replacement was very nice but didn't speak spanish properly, which was the booked language. Not sure if this is common or we just had bad luck.

Do it!

Andre was an amazing and entertaining guide! I learned so much! He was a gracious and patient host. I highly recommend this tour!

Very well organised, good explanations from the guide.

Budapest is a fantastic city, with lots of history, nice places to see. The guide, Dorothy was very professional and knowlegeable. Of course, a thorough tour would require more than 3 hours, but you can use the tour to choose what to visit in more depth.

Well worth it!

Excellent tour and guide! Stops were well timed with plenty of chances to take photos and look around. However, I wish I had known they offered tickets to tour Parliament at the end of the bus tour.

Exceptional tour & Guide - Andi

Andi (Andrea) was an outstanding tour guide for our group of 8 English-speakers. She managed the time well so that we saw even more sights than advertised. She has a great personality and made us feel welcome in the City. By chance, we ran into her the next day and she gave us some free tips on some of her favorite attractions. Glad to see the tourist industry is reviving. Highly recommend this tour and this guide.

3 Hour Budapest Tour review

Fun and informative tour around some of Budapest’s main attractions. Heavy traffic prevented us from going to Heroes’ Square (no fault of the tour company at all), but at all other destinations interesting and useful information was shared - and the air conditioned bus was a lovely touch as well. Was particularly useful as we went on the tour early into our trip, which helped settle us into the city and get a better idea of our surroundings. Highly recommend!

I don't her name. She didn't introduce herself. I signed up for an English walking tour and got a Spanish with some English guide bus tour. It was 95% Spanish speakers and some geriatric folks that complained about the walking of the tour. I understand 70% Spanish, but when she translates to English she will only explain about 60% of what she would tell the Spanish group. Too be fair it was a bunch of complaining Spaniards who can't walk and aggrevitsting her. I just wish we stop doing mixed groups.

Fun time in Budapest!

Was a wonderful way to hear all the history Budapest has to offer. It’s mostly in a van, and then walking to some places. We had Gregory and he was amazing, super friendly and patient with us, always quizzing us with different types of history! We had a blast.

Excellent tour

Attila, our guide was funny and knowledgable about the city and hungarian history. The tour took us to all the important spots and Attila gave us instructions on the trams and buses if we wished to learn more about the carious sites. The tour was well priced and worth every penny. Budapest is a city everybody would appreciate visiting.

Awesome tour!

Attila was the best tour guide! He was funny and very knowledgeable of the history of Budapest and explained it well without being overwhelmed. We visited great sites and understood a lot more about Budapest because of him!

If You are Lucky, Attila will be your Guide

The 3 hour city tour with Attila was a fantastic experience. He is funny, informative and charming. We were picked up at our hotel and started the tour in nearby Heroes Square. He explained the history of Hungary, its kings and its wars. We then drove down the Champs des Elysees of Hungary, Andrassy Avenue, as he explained the yellow line and the sights and squares we passed. Our next stop was the Matthias Church on the Buda side of the river. We had about an hour to see the magnificent Cathedral and shops nearby. Then up the hill to the Citadella and its panoramic views of the city and the Danube. We also saw the synagogue and city center. This was a morning very well spent. We feel ready to travel on our own now.

Really good tour with a lot of information from the tour guide, who was friendly and was passionate about her job. Got to stop at the main sites as well as drive around the city in private bus and was given plenty of information.

Budapest 3 hour tour

Well worth doing. Mini bus tour stopping at the main destinations over in the Buda side and then hero’s square in Pest. Guide very friendly. Not too much walking. Only four of us, another couple too who were nice to share the trip with. For the money great value especially when you are on a 48 hour trip like us and want to squeeze as much in as possible

Great if you don’t want to walk too much

This tour was a great overview of what Budapest has to offer. Our guide was Dorothy, who was fantastic. She was very sweet and knew a lot about the history of the city and each of the sights. She also gave us great restaurant recommendations and even offered to walk us there if we needed help getting there. However, one thing to keep in mind is that this tour is mainly on the bus, meaning that you only get off of the bus 2-3 times. This tour is a great tour to do on your first day in the city so that you can figure out which sights you would like to spend more time at later on. I would highly recommend this tour.

Fab city tour!

What a great way to get a feel for this beautiful city! We were a group of 14 spending 3 nights in Budapest, not easy to marshall so many people so booking this tour was a great idea. The very enthusiastic Atilla was a wonderful guide; charming, funny and knowledgeable his enthusiasm for the history and architecture was infectious. Would definitely recommend taking Cityrama tour!!

Wonderful speedy tour

This is a wonderful tour if you are in a rush to hit some important sights in the city. We were served by Attila, a knowledgeable guy with a lovely sense of humour! The only down side to this tour is that you don't have enough time to explore. Do read the timings carefully. You need to be there half an hour prior to the beginning of the tour. The company was very accommodating; when I mistakenly arrived late, they helped me make it to the tour.

Nice time in Budapest

We had amazing time with our guide. We really enjoyed it! We booked it when we arrived. Just me and my girlfriend and two other friends were on the tour and it was very nice.

Brilliant tour for 5 hours

Super comfortable coach for our party of 8, ROBERT is a super guide, very knowledgeable and clearly loves his job. We got a really good feel for the area, Buda and pest. Totally recommended.

Most enjoyable 3 hours city tour

Your tour guide Robert was so knowledgeable and he managed to bring us to see some fantastic views that we would never have been able to discover if we go on our own. It was in November and the sun sets at 4:30 pm. Thanks to Robert, we managed to see Budapest in day time till night time from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.

City tour 3 hour

Our guide Atilla was fantastic. Very friendly very chatty and full of knowledge. The 3 hour trip is just not enough time to see this wonderful city. We would definitely recommend this to friends who come here and hopefully they will be lucky enough to get Atilla as their guide!!

Amazing insight into rich history of Hungary

Thanks to CityRama 3 Hour Grand City Guide and thanks to an amazing n enterprising driver cum guide in the form of Attila, we had the most amazing three hours of our stay at Budapest. Despite a high level political visit from neighbouring country, Attila was able to maneuvore us well to show all important n historic places. Carry home some amazing memories of the place

Excellent friendly guide Atilla the 'Hun'

He made this joke himself at the start of a wonderful tour. Learned much more and saw more than we would have done on a hop on hop off bus which didn't get such good reviews. This was definitely the right choice. Atilla really knows Budapest well and took us around all the major sights making many recommendations on the way for other activities. We would highly recommend this tour and Atilla.

Enjoyed and Learned Much from Attila

Not particularly fond of tours, but my wife really wanted this one, so willing to give it a try. Glad I did. Our tour guide, Attila, was great. With a sense of humor and a great understanding of the history and significance of every where went, we both enjoyed the tour. Toward the end of the tour he talked a little about WW I. As people then toured the area, Hero's Square, I asked Attila many questions about the topic, and he took the time to answer them all, which means he stayed longer when he could have left. Appreciated much.

3 hour tour

Great way to see the sights of Budapest, book early in your stay and you can go back to spend more time in your favourite places. Our tour guide was very good was a young guy think he was called Andy

Very interesting & beautiful place.

Elizabeth did a wonderful job of telling us the important & interesting places & info, but what was sorely missing were head phones as not everyone can always be near her to hear what she is saying. In a big tour group with more than 3 people head phones are a must

I read so many favorable reviews about Attila the guide that it spurred me to book this tour. No regrets! Attila was every bit as great as advertised - genuinely personable, great sense of humor, knowledgeable, and totally committed to meeting his clients’ needs, and then some! Best guide I’ve ever had.

Attila gave a great tour!

I am definitely impressed by the quality of tour and for the low amount of money that it cost. It is great to be in a small group too. We were in a mini bus and there was only about 10 people. But the best was our guide - Attila (yes, like that famous dude). He was funny had a good sense of humor including in the terrible traffic, and knew a lot more than some of the other guides that I have had before and since. I would definitely recommend this tour. Better if you can go in the morning so there’s less traffic!
