Excellent tour

Our guide was very knowledgable. My husband had his foot in a boot and she accommodated the tour so he could be included and sit down whereever possible. There were only four of us on the tour and that was great. She also helped us at the end of the tour to find our way to our next destination. A very informative and fun tour.

Excellent tour and guide

I enjoyed the Buda Castle district tour with Andi. She was very knowledgeable of the history and engaging during the tour. As she mentioned to us, Buda Castle is about the views of the city and she showed us all of them. Definitely recommended if you don’t mind doing a bit of walking around the area!

Budapest Walking Tour

Delia was a wonderful tour guide. She provided great information. She also encouraged us to customize our tour if we wanted, but we allowed her to create and execute the tour as planned. She was very accommodating and helpful with pur questions. We highly recommend her.

Ok for first excursion

Nice guide. A useful excursion to rejuvenate yourself in the large palace complex. I would have liked to receive 3 times more information and a much broader story telling.

An excellent tour

We were very happy with this tour. Esther covered everything in the Buda Castle area one could hope to see. The tour flowed seamlessly from place to place and was well thought out and she presented great information and details. She was also gracious and kind enough to help us with figuring out transportation on the way home.

Outstanding, knowledgable, fun tour and tour guide

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Greg, our tour guide, all to ourselves for our tour of Buda Castle district. Greg grew up in the area and knows it very well. He showed us sites we would have NEVER seen without his knowledge, and he clearly loves his city. We could have spent many more hours with him, learning about Budapest, Hungarian history, and current events. He was also happy to tailor the tour to what we were interested in. If (hopefully when) we return to Budapest, I hope we can have another tour with him.

Is worth

In Budapest, this church is worth a quick visit if you have the time. The church's interior has a more personal atmosphere but is not quite as intimidating as other major cathedrals.

Our guide was a super nice Hungarian lady. Her English was perfect and she was very professional and easy going. My sisters and I really enjoyed walking around with her and were able to appreciate everything we’ve seen having her valuable insights. Budapest is a beautiful city!

Perfect small group Buda tour with a great tour guide.

Our tour guide Monica speaks perfect English and is an excellent tour guide. She was very thorough and we learned so much about Budapest from her. Since our group was very small (only my husband and I), we were extremely lucky to have a private tour with Monica. We are so glad that we booked this tour with Absolute Tours. Despite the very cold weather that’s a little challenging for us, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Great tour! Tour guide Anna was lovely and waited for me as I was running half an hour late. She was very knowledgeable and the tour was interesting. Matthias church and fisherman's bastion were beautiful. Definitely recommend

Amazing Budapest Experience!

What a wonderful tour of Buda Castle Hill we took with Monika. She was so knowledgeable, so excited to share what she knew with us in this most amazing location. She made the tour personal and pleasant, and she even shared her goulash recipe with me at the end! We would highly recommend this as the best way to see the incomparable St. Mátyás Church and to learn about Buda Castle.

Great tour with a lot of history

I was the only tourist so I was impressed that I was still given the tour. We did not go into the church not sure why. That’s was the 4 star only. But it was an excellent tour.

Anna was excellent

We did the tour in September 2023 and had Anna as our guide. She was awesome and very knowledgably about Budapest and Castle district. The tour went by very fast as she kept us informed and gave a lot of history about the area. Anna made the tour very enjoyable and would recommend to anyone visiting.

Experience the history behind the beauty of Buda

Balint is an excellent guide. He added the context and symbolism of the places, monuments and historical figures in the Buda Castle District we would have otherwise missed. My wife and I left having a much better understanding of Hungary’s complex history. Balint took the time to answer questions and displayed a depth of knowledge that showed him an expert. We are extremely glad we took this tour and would recommend to anyone looking to see the history behind the beauty of Buda.

Budapest castle hill tour

Balient was a really friendly approachable and informative tour guide. He showed us around all of the castle district and took us inside the Matthias Church. He explained every part in detail; and even added small local stories to make the trip more enjoyable and memorable! He was very chatty and kept us involved and interactive the whole way through. Ana was so knowledgeable and informative on her tour. She went at a good pace and was fabulous at the stories that she shared and the historical significance of each site. Her English was impeccable as well and it was easy to understand her. Would highly recommend her and this tour!

Buda District Tour

Our tour guide Anna was amazing. she made the entire experience enjoyable. She was very knowledgeable and made sure that everyone was involved. She told a lot of stories which made you want to keep listening to her. Although it was very hot but we didn't realise when the 2 hours got finished. At the end of the tour she made an extra effort and gave an additional tour of around 15 mins which made you feel extra nice. So thank you so much for making the trip around the Buda Castle District worthwhile. Highly recommend this tour.

Great way to discover the history of Hungary.

We enjoyed our tour with our lovely guide tremendously and learnt a lot more about Hungarian history. Our guide was both knowledgeable and friendly. I would really recommend going on a tour in this area as it is so rich in history and it makes it all the more interesting. I would definitely recommend Absolute Tours.

Private e-bike tour of Budapest and walking tour of Castle area

We (2 adults, 2 teens) were very fortunate to take 2 tours with Petra on our recent 4 day visit to Budapest. The first, a private e-bike tour included a stop for strudel and coffee - both of which were delicious. Petra was extremely knowledgeable and interesting and answered any questions we had. We did the tour on our first morning which meant that we visited all the main sites of the city, giving us an idea about which places we wanted to revisit later in the trip for a more detailed visit. In addition to being an excellent tour guide, Petra was also very helpful in providing local information - for example she saved us a lot of money by explaining the transport system to us, recommended when to visit the ruin bars, and where to find the best Langost and chimney cakes! Cycling in Budapest was very straightforward- although we did cycle on the roads there are dedicated cycle lanes which are respected by local drivers and therefore feel safe to use. Our second tour with Petra was on our final afternoon- this time a walking tour of the castle area with entry to St Mathew's Church. Again this was excellent, we were lucky with the weather again and Petra kept us entertained with new facts and figures. Would definitely recommend Petra and Absolute Tours to anyone visiting beautiful Budapest.

Informative tour

This tour was wonderful and very informative. Monika shared so much knowledge with us. The only recommendation I would make is it was sometimes hard to hear all the commentary. Everything else amazing.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

We were the only booking with our lovely tour guide on a Friday morning, with a snowy forecast. Even though the weather was cold and snowy, our tour was excellent! Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The highlight was the St. Matthias Church, a beautifully restored structure with a very interesting history. Midway through the tour we visited a quaint coffee shop and enjoyed delicious pastries. I highly recommend this tour, just check the forecast!🥶😁

It's the Jewel of Budapest.

Buda Castle is one of the highlights of Budapest.Its the highest point from where you can see whole city and spot all the landmarks.My favorite time to visit is evening,when you can see sunset and the whole city give the whole different vibe when it's night.this last summer the funicular wasn't functional so I had to walk a lot to go up there because tram stop was way too far.eally love the vibe of this place. It's so surreal and serene and one feel like standing on top of Budapest, watching the whole city .

Good info for Buda area

Bilant was our tour guide. He showed us many sites in the castle district especially Mathias Church, the Bastion and the palace area. We also had a delicious pastry and coffee at a local bakery. He was very knowledgeable and answered all if our questions.

Very interesting and definitely recommended

Petra was friendly and knowledgeable with completely fluent English, the tour was interesting and the time passed very quickly. The castle district is big and it was most definitely worthwhile having a tour to get the most out of it. She also had suggestions about other things to do in Budapest and, of course, there was cake at the end :).

This experience is a gem, the small group makes it more intimate as we get to talk about many topics about Hungarian lifestyle. The time was well managed and this city is more beautiful than I have imagined. Our tour guide was great!

Brilliant tour

Our guide Tomas was highly entertaining. He knew so much about the history of the castle district and church. Church was stunning and the cafe stop was a chance to get to know the others on our tour. Tomas even escorted us back down at the end. His enthusiasm and sense of humour really made the trip extra special. Great value for money!

AMAZING 🌟

Our tour guide was a very nice young blonde girl. She told the most interesting stories about each monument and always in a very funny and light way. I got to know the history of Budapest better. It's worth going into Mathias Church, it's just magnificent. The coffee break with a cake was excellent, it was all so tasty.

Balint is a skilled guide whose English is excellent. He is very knowledgeable about Hungarian history, and shared his family’s and personal experiences regarding Hungarian history and culture. He also took an interest in the cultural background of our small group. This made our tour very relaxed and meaningful.

First thing to start with when visiting the castle district

Our guide Judit is such a good story teller and a very pleasant person to spend time with. She is very knowledgeable and told us a lot of captivating facts from the history of Hungary and the site we visited. She gave us valuable tips about how to spend quality time while in Budapest. In the end, she even helped us figure out what bus to take, where to take it and how many stops to go, to join a boat tour to which we could not get in time and we were about to quit. Thank you.

We were given an excellent “private” tour by Tamas. He is knowledgeable, he is funny, he is enthusiastic. We learned so much about Hungarian history. If given the opportunity, ask for Tamas. You cannot go wrong!

Excellent tour and guide

This was an excellent tour! Our guide, Rebeka was very knowledgeable and engaging. Our favorite part was learning more about the impact of WWII and the communist government on the architecture and everyday life of Hungarians. We highly recommend this tour.

Fun, informative tour for all ages!

Thomas was amazing! He clearly loves sharing the history of his hometown in a fun way! The tour consisted of 3 couples, so it was the perfect sized group. Thomas created a little friendly competition with a “prize” at the end. A very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon!

Our tour guide, Rebecca, was very personable and knowledgeable about the Castle and Budapest overall! My friend and I ended up getting a private tour because the other member’s of our group cancelled last minute. Rebecca told the history of the castle and Hungary beautifully. I recommend signing up the coffee and cake tour, which are both delicious.
