Half-Day Whale Watching Sunset Cruise from Broome

Amazing encounter!

My friend and I joined the whale-watching and our experience with Broome Whale Watching was beyond our expectations! We encountered one whale shortly after leaving the shore, and it accompanied us throughout the trip! It was like we were playing hide and seek with the whale. It swam around our boat and even showed us its belly to us. What a playful whale! The captain and crew were fantastic hosts. We also had fun swimming on the swim net on the way back. We'll definitely try it again when we visit Broome next time! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Absolutely amazing day

Wow , what a fantastic day . We were lucky enough to see whales , a turtle and some dolphins. The most professional tour I have been on . The crew were amazing from start to finish. The three girls and the captain are a credit to the company. Would highly recommend. I thought it was great that we could take our own drinks as well . All in all an awesome experience.

Wow, wow, wow. An amazing experience.

Being early in the season we had little expectation of seeing whales. We were literally blown out of the water by the incredible displays these incredible giants of the sea. We loved the tour from beginning to end. One of the best trips we have done. Staff were amazing, everyone very friendly, professional in carrying out their roles. From pick up to getting on the boat to drop off tour was fabulous. Beautiful sunset, turquoise blue water, delicious nibbles and drink it was a great afternoon. Well done guys.

Awesome experience

The trip was amazing. Comfortable trip, great service and so much fun. Cam is very knowledgeable and I saw a species of dolphin I've never seen before!

Giant whales traverse ocean Near Broome

Broome is a great place to watch these huge whales. Giant whales traverse the Indian Ocean near Broome, it's a stirring place to see these huge sea creatures. The whales inspire our imagination. The live in the sea forever. Check to see if they're traveling when you're in Broome. Broome is on the sea, it's part of the Kimberley in northwestern Western Australia.

Amazing friendly staff thankyou to Jessie Maddie and Darcy and Paul Very nice food (and good cocktails) the boat was so roomy and comfortable We were picked up and dropped back to accomodation. A fantastic experience !! Highly recommend.

Mother Nature Put on a Spectacular Show for Us

What a spectacular day! Cameron, the skipper and owner of the boat is a warm, engaging person who knows and loves whales. We were treated to a mother and calf breaching multiple times and then on the way in we followed a pack of bull whales for more than 40 minutes as they crossed in front of and behind our boat mutliple times- it was amazing and something I will never forget. To arrive on the shore to a full moon. WOW!

Whales Galore, well worth it

Picked up on time from accomodation. Ferried out to catamaran with about 28 other passengers . Boat was comfortable with most sitting up front but as we were last on we o my had seats at back . Tip : get in the first tender . We still saw the whales as we just got up and stood at side everything o w was sighted . We saw lots of calves feeding with their mum’s and the highlight was following three huge whales and a calf for quite some time . Nibbles provided and drinks very reasonably priced . The Mango daquari was especially delicious . Coming back in we had the sunset behind up . It was a fabulous afternoon . Thoroughly recommend. The young staff were terrific. .

Broome Whale highway to heaven

It was like a 'Whale highway' only 1-5km out from Cable Beach, encountering many mothers with calfs basking closer to the boat & occassion spectacular 'breaches' further away. Great boat with plenty of viewing places , easy to move around. Laid back atmosphere, knowledgeable commentry from skipper Paul , quality finger foods , a beverage or 2 , friendly service in beautiful conditions all added to a memorable afternoon ... topped off by a classic sunset on return. Thanks to the Team.

Broome Whale Watching Half Day Sunset Cruise

I had a great day today with Broome Whale Watching on their half day whale watching sunset cruise. I was picked up and dropped off by air-conditioned bus and transported to Ganthiaume Point beach where we boarded a small boat that took us to the larger boat Orcaella where we commenced our whale watching excursion. We saw numerous whale sightings, in particular mother and baby humpback whales, which was really special. Our boat captain, Paul, shared his extensive knowledge of whales throughout the afternoon and we all enjoyed his wicked sense of humour. He very kindly steered as close as he could so that I could see the camel trains on Cable Beach (albeit still a bit far away!😂) but I really appreciated his efforts. We were provided with lots of yummy canapés throughout the afternoon and the service provided by all the girls was outstanding. Those brave enough were able to enjoy the net at the back of the boat but the water was a fraction chilly! All in all, it was a fun day and not to be missed if you are in Broome, Western Australia.

Great Days

We did both the sunset whale watching trip and the snub nose dolphin trip with this company and could not fault either . From pick up to drop off the staff were delightful, making sure we enjoyed our trip. The skippers were very knowledgeable and went out of their way to ensure we saw whales and dolphins . Would we go with another company , no. Would we recommend this company , absolutely

Best Whale watching cruise!!

Best whale watching cruise operators in Broome! As a Broome local, I absolutely loved being able to get out offshore to see these amazing creatures. The whales were just incredible and spent hours swimming around the boat. Crew were amazing, excellent service, food and beverages being served throughout the afternoon. I'm going to be booking another cruise in a week because it was just the most amazing experience. I couldn't recommend Broome Whale Watching enough, they are the best.

Great day out with the whales

Perfect day out to seeing a mother humpback teaching her energetic new calf some new skills. Lots of whale pec slapping to keep us engaged. The crew served yummy food and we had a go on the boom net as we headed back to shore.

A great day

We had a fabulous experience -we were fortunate to get perfect weather and multiple whale sightings, including seeing a calf breach repeatedly for 30 mins or so as it frolicked. We were very appreciative of the excellent customer service, both on board and prior to the trip. We were booked a week earlier than we went, and when the weather forecast for the day we had booked changed to include stronger winds, we rang them as I am prone to seasickness and they were very helpful in rescheduling without fuss. Highly recommended and good value.

Up close with whales

I would recommend this tour. Saw many whales up close and the commentary by the marine biologist was great. Free non alcoholic drinks and tasty snacks and very pleasant staff - a great afternoon - also saw dolphins and a turtle

Absolutely amazing. Maddi and Cam were fantastic - they were both really professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic day. We saw a mum and calf, which was really special. We saw 4 large males that stayed near our boat for around an hour - they swam under the boat, they breached and we were able to take lots of tail photos. We even got some beautifully prepared finger food. I would 100% recommend this tour.

This was the most amazing afternoon have ever had We were blessed with an incredible afternoon full of whale sittings dolphins turtles and on top of that the crew were fantastic could not do enough for you and the food provided totally delicious!

A Nice Combination-Whale Watching and Broome Sunset

Bus will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to Gantheaume Point, where you are transferred onto the whale watching vessel. Staff are super friendly and skipper points out details of cruise. We were fortunate enough to stay with a small pod of whales for the majority of the time. Saw a lot of flipper slapping from about 50 metres. Canapes are brought out through the afternoon and you can actually take your own drinks on board, which the staff will serve to you.

Fabulous Experience

We did this tour during our stay in Broome. It did not disappoint, we saw lots of whales and they came close to the boat. I've never done this before and it was the best experience. The staff were all fabulous and we were well looked after with canapes and drinks throughout the tour. Can't recommend it enough !

Glorious day whales everywhere

Beautiful day of sunshine and the flattest sea you could imagine. Skilled skipper and friendly staff. Had great interactions with three whales that were curious enough to come close to the boat on several occasions

Encounter of the Exceptional Kind

If there was any sight/tour more worthy of the "Excellent" Award, then the Broome Whale Watch is very definitely worthy of it. They were exceptionally accommodating regarding numerous queries made (internationally) prior to the tour and an absolute pleasure to synergize with during the trip. Even got to meet the delightful Maddie with who so much correspondence was previously had. On the day of the actual tour, a wonderfully cheerful Jess picked us up from our places of accommodation and gave us all (once fully assembled) an awesome rundown of what we were all about to embark upon. At the beach, we were treated to a marvelous transfer from beach to boat using an incredible amphibious "sea legs" craft. No need to get wet feet. The number of people on each tour appears to be kept deliberately low, which enabled those on board to roam very freely to whatever position they wished, whenever they wished. There was therefore no reason ever to feel that an ideal vantage point could not be obtained when the occasion came to view the whales. Once out where the whales were, we were treated to an extraordinary display. Particularly by one humpback who appeared determined to display its entire frolicsome and mischievous repertoire right next to the boat. In fairness, according to the staff on board, it was an unusual encounter but WOW, what a fantastic day for this whale to pick its opportunity to do so. Following the whales encounter, one last treat was to observe the sunset before heading back to shore. This one day trully became a lifetime experience and memory.

Beautiful Broome Whale Watching

Amazing! Mac picked us up promptly at 1pm, taken to beach where Skipper Paul got us onto a small boat, to take us to the big boat Oracella for our trip. Seamless and easy access. Mac, Portia and team of smiling service staff looked after us with countless rounds of delish veg, non veg canapes while Skipper Paul navigated the way across the ocean and we saw many whales, big and small, including mum and bub duo!! Great atmosphere on the boat. Boom net released for people to swim in the ocean. Wonderful. We bought liquor from the bar and you could BYO too. Awesome, Amazing , Incredible!!Highly recommended

You can see from the photo how close we got. Wonderful experience, even on my own...a small crowd meant everyone could get up close... perfect day and a great time for whale visits... no guarantees of a sighting but if you're lucky? Unforgettable!

great half day with Broome Whale Watching

Had a spare half day on my own and was picked up on time by Mac and Maddy who went out of their way to make me feel extremely welcome. Our skipper Paul piloted a beautiful boat and was very friendly, enthusiastic and knew exactly where to go to find the whales. AMAZING!! This is a spectacular half day experience and was great value in my opinion!

A fantastic outing

This is an excellent adventure! We saw dolphins, a turtle and of course the humpback whales, including a mother and calf and a male whale who entertained us with many breaches, and fin slapping. The canapés provided were excellent and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to others who are in Broome during the whale season.

Unforgettable experience in Broome

Wow this was definitely my favourite part about Broome! We were able to get up and close with many whales, dolphin pods, turtles and other marine animals, which we loved! The boat was beautiful with so much space too.

Most magical experience

I booked the half day whale watching cruise for my boyfriend’s birthday and from beginning to end we were not disappointed. As it was the second day of the season we weren’t overly positive about what we’d see but were excited for the day ahead. It turns out we couldn’t have been luckier! The entire crew were so knowledgable of the waters and were incredibly patient in finding the right whales. We spent about an hour following a group of 4 bulls who were incredibly playful and confident around the boat. The whole experience was magical and something we’ll never forget. The crew were attentive and constantly coming around offering drinks and canapés and answering any questions we had. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

WOW, WOW and WOW what a awesome experience

Thank you to the awesome crew on this tour. We saw some whales and the crew tried to keep up with the whales and we all got fantastic photos of these majestic creatures. Would highly recommend to anyone that is interested to do it.

Whale watching in Broome

The trip started with the bus picking us up from our accomodation. We arrived in Cable Beach and was taken by a tender to the vessel where we would sail to see the whales. The girls onboard were very helpful, they offered us something to drink, like coke, fanta, water etc. We could BYO beers and they would keep it in the icesky provided The girls will serve the beer throughout the journey. We saw a lot of mother whales and the calves on the way, we took so many pictures. While we took photos, nibbles and finger food were served by the girls on the tray. The nibbles were yummy. The best part of the trip was about half an hour before we head back, we were allowed to jump to the sea to swim for 20 minutes. My partner loved it every minutes, he jumped and enjoyed himself. I would recommed anyone to do this trip, but remember, the sea can be pretty rough and you might get sea sick, so be prepared to take your travacalm before you go. The skipper was very professional and experience. The young girls were lovely and helpful.

Experience of the skipper. Constantly guiding and advising where whales were in advance before they surfaced. Ably supported by 2 support crew who were so proactive with everything. Truly a quality experience.

Plenty of whale sightings

Definitely saw whales and they came quite close at end of tour. We saw mums and calves as well as juvenile males. We also saw a large sea snake. So the trip was great. There could have been more food, altogether 4 rounds of finger food 1 piece each), but a good idea to take your own too (BYO food and drinks allowed). The boom net swimming was fun.

Must do afternoon activity in Broome!!!

Had an absolutley fantastic afternoon. There were so many whale sightings. They came up close to our boat and we had the best show!! The crew were excellent. Very knowledgable and professional.

Wonderful experience

We got to see the whales and hear them. The tour is very respectful of the whales by keeping a safe distance, yet still allowing for some wonderful sightings and photographic moments. Food served is very nice snd staff extremely friendly and capable.

Great trip from start to finish. Staff friendly, lots of delicious food bonus being able to BYO alcohol. Lots of information given on whales and were lucky to see lots of whales during cruise. Driver did his best to get us as many sightings as possible. Loved the whole experience. And of course a stunning sunset.

Amazing experience

We went on the tour late in the season and understood that we may not have sighted any whales. We headed out and within half an hour we sighted a female with calf. We followed them for a while and then we sighted other females and calves. In the distance we saw whales breaching but they disappeared by the time we got there. The day was so well run. The staff were so friendly and the information provided very helpful. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. We had a wonderful day. It was well worth it.
