Getting to know Brighton - visitors and residents alike

I deliberately have not come by car for environmental reasons. I travel by public transport. Also I don't like driving and my back isn't strong so I only do a limited amount of walking. Quite apart from all of that, this partly open topped bus with audio commentary is a brilliant way to get around, perhaps to parts not on my radar. From the upstairs you see over walls, across the beaches and elevated views of buildings. I only vaguely knew about the pavilion and was captivated by the view of it from the bus. I must go there! I hadn't realised that it was so elaborate. Coming down the hill behind the station... what's that? Its the ROOF of the station; a most unexpected perspective. The clock and ornate frontage of the station. Hard to see from ground level or the wheel of a car. The race course; so high up with views all around. Use it or lose it guys; this is a must for any visitor and you residents... you never explore your own patch properly do you?

Good Value and way to see the sights

Good value and a way to see where all the sights are and which to go back to. Also audio descriptions are excellent and clear. Drivers very courteous, helpful and friendly. Added bonus (for non- seniors) is the ticket being valid for all Brighton buses for the 24hrs. It can take you as fast as Eastbourne and back. Excellent value and would certainly recommend

Quick tour of Brighton

Guy selling tickets very helpful Enjoyed the tour Would recommend The loop just under a hour, so not to long Headsets pre packed and sealed.

Easy to use and what I expected.

This was exactly what I expected. Moss was our tour guide on the bus and was full of wonderful information and stories. It was easy to get around with the bus and I would sign up for this again.

Personable and interesting tour

Charlie was a great sales rep and enticed us to buy a two day ticket, which I’m sure we will enjoy using. The tour itself was interesting and informative. We were lucky to have Charlie doing a live talk so there was humour and her personality adding to the commentary. She’s a confident, capable young person and she did a great job at making the tour more personable and looking after us.

AMAZING DONT MISS IT

Absolutely fabulous 👌 seeing parts of Brighton I would never have gone too otherwise. Live Tour guides Daily at 10.30, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.30 and if you miss any of these times you can listen to the recorded audio with the free disposable headphones provided 😊 Great for all ages Our driver Charley ( Charlotte) was amazing too. Lovely smooth driving and overall really Friendly person.

Great way to see Brighton and a little bit of Hove actually

We were lucky with the weather and the bus was in pristine condition and we had a great welcome. Charlie hosted the live commentary and it was her first time and she absolutely nailed it 👍👍👍

Fantastic drivers and a good way of seeing Brighton. Charlotte/Charlie was fantastic ! (And Dan 😄). She was so friendly and could see she enjoyed her job. A stress free way of getting around Brighton. Highly recommend.

Enjoyable and a thorough introduction to Brighton

Comprehensive and far-reaching are the best words to describe a typical Big Bus tour in a city you know well enough but need reminders. Best to start the day - pick-up by the Pier - and come back for coffee in order to decide what to do with the rest of the day.

Great way to see Brighton

Being the brave one and still sitting up top in windy weather but the screen at the front made it pleasant enough. Great seeing all the sights with great commentary. Also good being able to take buses on the Brighton and Hove buses for free all day.

Great day trip in Brighton

Bus stop easy to find just outside station. Given earphones and map so we knew where we were going. Only a few people on bus and had whole of upstairs to ourselves. Very hot day so lovely breeze upstairs. Lovely views and good road trip. Bus was very bumpy !!!!

A brilliant way to get around the city.

The views were great and the commentary added to the whole experience. A perfect way to take in the sights. We went all the way round once then went back and hopped on and off to explored all the places we wanted to. Just fantastic.

A great way to see Brighton

Went on the tour bus whilst on holiday in Brighton. The full trip lasted under an hour but the commentary was very good, if a little out of sync! The gentleman that booked us on was great and we got to use the ticket on any Brighton and Hove bus all day long! Would recommend

Son and Dad trip

It only cost £23 for my Son (13) and me online. Good value for the money. Very educational with the recorded tour guide in 7 language's and very helpful staff.

Hopped on the bus and did the tour was really nice weather, and the trip was worth the money, only downside was their was rubbish on the floors

The Best way to see Brighton

It is simply the best way to see the city and learn about its history and culture. The buses were comfortable and the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed the commentary, which was informative and entertaining. The staff at the ticket office were very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer all of my questions. The driver was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend City Sightseeing Brighton Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour to anyone visiting Brighton. It is a great way to see the city and learn about its history and culture.

Perfect way to see Brighton.

What an experience to see Brighton from the top of a bus. The driver, Charlie, told us about the times, the trip etc We were hooked a d went on her 4pm trip. We sat at the front on the top of the bus, put in our earphones and listened to the commentary. It was very interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed our hours trip. Well done Charlie, my husband, as a bus driver himself, says you drove the bus excellently. A good trip

GREAT SERVICE GIVEN BY ALL

What great helpful members of staff. Karon (Karen) and Hyinis (not sure of spelling) fab to talk to for information, great friendly funny and helpful. Spent two days on and off tour bus to get us around the city - even used bus to get us back to train station , You can get on this bus right outside the train station, but be aware runs once an hour !!! times are on the bus stop. and no doubt it will drop you in/near area you are staying , so this serves as a taxi too, wish we had done that !!!!!!!!! (NOTE, YOU CAN ALSO USE THIS TOUR BUS TICKET TO GET YOU ONTO ANY BUS IN BRIGHTON AND HOVE AREA) so well worth the money . Hope to see you both again on our next visit. Well done City Tour bus for employing these fabulous people.

Can't beat the customer service

The absolutely fantastic service from Charlotte and Caron (and ainis on Thursday) so friendly and very knowledgeable, have done the hop off and on in London and York and the service at Brighton is top notch. Some great ideas from Charlotte for next year too would be great to see some implemented.

We joined our driver Lee, a well presented, good looking chap by Brighton pier. He was very friendly and humorous. The tour itself was informative, very enjoyable and well worth the money. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again Lee.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience

We really had a wonderful time on the bus tour yesterday afternoon, all the staff we came into contact with were friendly, happy and welcoming. The gentleman who greeted us onto the bus and asked any question we threw at him. We were so lucky with the weather, which was just as well as we sat on the top deck. We were given a map, headphones and a rain mac. I would thoroughly recommend, it was a great way of finding out so much in very little time. Our driver was Lee who was such a happy fellow assisted by Charlie, who again was really lovely and entertaining. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

City sightseeing of Brighton

The hop on hop off tour gives you very good overview of Brighton history and landmarks. The reason I gave it 4 stars because many landmarks you cannot see from the bus.

Lovely

It was a lovely day, and we had an hour to spare, so we hopped on the bus and did the whole journey. The commentary was informative and the sights were wonderful to see. The driver was very helpful with explaining how it worked if we did need to hop off for any reason.

Great service

It’s a number of years since I last did this tour, but I thoroughly enjoyed it once again. Every single driver was so pleasant and helpful, and I saw a few, as I used the two day ticket loads of times to get about! The fact that you can use your ticket on any Brighton bus for the two days makes it tremendous value for money, and the drivers told me I can use it to get 10% off tours in other places. A great trip.

Interesting and informative.

Brighton is an interesting place so this was an interesting trip. Cost us a tenner each and it lasted an hour with a informative and mostly interesting commentary. Always a good way to orientate yourself in a town you haven't visited in30 years

Booking tickets online...

Booking tickets online proved to be a bad experience. QR code did not come through in an email. We had to pay again in cash to redeem a ticket to travel. We requested a refund, nothing has come back. Our original payment has been processed.

Very Enjoyable

Had a really enjoyable trip on our Ho Ho open top bus - Took in all the sites and commentaries on our audio sets with free earphones. Very informative about Brighton. Thanks again...Would definitely recommend.

Great trip

Had a trip on the sightseeing bus on Friday 3rd June as we were visiting Brighton for a couple of days. Staff very friendly, in particular a lovely lady who drove the bus as we completed our journey from the marina back to the pier. We also witnessed the same lovely lady look after a little boy she found wondering around alone, luckily his mum was found, as the police arrived. The little boy was not phased by this and enjoyed his time being able to sit on the bus. Well worth the little trip around Brighton.

Best sightseeing bus I've been on

Definitely worth the money, you can use the ticket on any local bus too,the bus stops at all the places you would need as a tourist and are every 30 minutes (every hour at certain dates) , and the bus drivers are the friendliest people, I would of quite happily listened to them talk about brighton instead of the headphones, quality customer service from all of them, ainis, Joe, Caron and Charlotte.

Short but sweet!

Quite a quick city tour but interesting none the less. Friendly staff, great views and handy stops (we were staring at the Marina so it was perfect to get us into the city centre!)

See and Know Brighton

This hour long bus tour is a convenient way to get a grasp of the city and appreciate it beyond its famous beaches and nightlife. Booking was easy and ticket scanning done by the driver of the bus at the takeoff location. The directive in the ticket invoice email is outdated as there is no printout required and TripAdvisor needs to update that. The audio guide over headphones complements the tour and immerses one into the spirit of the different phases of development and transformation Brighton has traversed. It is advisable to dress warmly as the open bus tour along the pier does get a bit chilly.

A comfy way to see Brighton

Lovely way to see Brighton with an informative commentary and many interesting places on the route. We liked having the chance to get off the bus at places where we wanted to explore more. The buses were clean and on time and the drivers were helpful and friendly. Well worth using this bus.

Ideal to see more of Brighton!

We decided to do the bus tour of Brighton whilst visiting recently. Bus driver was helpful and cheerful. We hopped off for breakfast at The Breakfast Club and then hopped back on and enjoyed the tour. We didnt realise the length of the pier and the marina area was lovely. Definately worth doing and ear phones were included in the price with interesting information.

Brilliant bus tour.

Fantastic experience great factual commentary all the way around and the staff were exceptional. You can hop on and off at the predesignated stopping points just showing your ticket to get back in - however the wind blew our tickets out of my hand while on route, I spoke to the staff who were very understanding and allowed us to get off at the marina and return back on board by sight. The staff were all friendly approachable courteous and a credit to the company. Well worth a tour on the bus highly recommended.
