Branson Veterans Memorial Museum Admission

The exhibits made me cry.

Not out of conscious effort, but my husband and I have ended up visiting umpteen battlefields, forts, battleships, war cemeteries and homes of various historical generals and leaders on our travels. From Pearl Harbor to Fort Monroe, Little Bighorn to Fort De Soto and everywhere in between, we've been there. Like many Americans I've had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and extended family going back every generation that we've traced that have served in US wars going back to the Revolutionary War. I had to speed through some rooms to get to a spot where I was alone so I could catch my breath to stop the tears welling in my eyes. I'm extremely critical of the US Military Industrial Complex and it makes me so angry and sad to see all the names of the people who died and their families ripped apart for the benefit of bankers, military contractors and politicians. There are a lot of neat artifacts in here going back to WWI. My favorite artifact was the vest for a carrier pigeon. If you're interested in politics or history or the military, this is a nice museum to stop at as an adult. I wouldn't bring small children here because the subject matter is too heavy. Smithsonian Quality Museum

The displays were very good. We enjoyed the personal stories of service men and women. The collections from different wars/conflicts. Well done!

Memorable Experience

This place has a lot of great and memorable displays from all Wars. Some we're very sobering. it is a must see when in Branson.

Worth stopping!

We did not allow enough time for this stop. Building looks deceptively small outside. Appreciated so many personal stories beside the artifacts, not just captions.

Great history lesson

Great museum to learn about our great nation when it comes to historical events in history. The people who served and learn about those who sacrificed for this country.

Humbled

Very moving displays. This made the early wars much more real to those of us that weren't born yet. You've read and studied about them but they needed to be brought to "life" in my opinion. I left VERY humbled and with even more love for our country. This is something that should be shown in history lessons, all the real people and the lives they gave up or set aside for us!!! I will recommend all I know to come see this display! Thank you.

Wonderful trip to the museum

We took my son here for his birthday because he loves all things world war II and this exhibit was amazing there was so much history and you could tell that they really took a lot of time and care to create the exhibits anyone who loves anything to do with military history I highly recommend this

Good place to visit

Really good and lots to see. I just wish the legal weed small wasn't so strong when we went. My 12 year old son said it smelled really bad in there.

Great Veterans Museum

I am a Vietnam veteran (68-69) and my second trip to the museum, we took our two grandchildren and they loved it. Box Car Willie’s uniform (Lecil Martin) grew up in Ovilla Texas where I’m from and I worked with his daddy and his cousin is my best friend.

A fitting Tribute

This museum is a fantastic look into the lives of America's Warriors. It spans from World War One all the way to the First and Second Gulf and Afghanistan Wars. Well put together and worth the effort to see. It was great to meet the Marine and fellow veteran who was tending the front desk. We shared some sea stories. Please take the time to visit. The 50 Man D-Day statue in front is awe inspiring. The statues are of real Soldiers from each state and were made using real photos of the Men. My wife ans are both Vets, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Greatly place to visit

Great and very informative place to stop. The Andre was very friendly and d helpful. The history that is portrayed there is very interesting. Easy to find.

My husband and I know the importance of remembering our veterans. Seeing a number of women and men that served makes it personal. I learned a few things as well. Keep their memory alive and go,

Nice museum

My husband and older son love to go to all of the Veteran's museums we come across. This one had nice displays and the staff were nice. They have a nice gift shop where my husband found a very nice case for his father's funeral flag.

Great Museum

It was an excellent museum. I spent a good amount of time there. It takes in a broad history of the military, from the early years to present. I like the WW1 era exhibits as you don’t see much of that.

Disappointed veteran

An nice tribute to name all that gave life for country in WW2 and Viet nam, ( and other conflicts) but fell short on that era displays. More of uniforms and personal stories than items. More on Japan and enemy items, less and non existent Viet era and recent veterans. Thought I could show family what we had back then, but was absent of items and displays to show.

Lots of Information, good museum

Very good veterans museum with a lot of information, uniforms and photographs. Would not really recommend it for children, I believe that it would be hard to keep their attention, more for the adults. Lots of great information.

Pay a visit

Very nice Museum. Lot of uniforms. But the most interesting thing about the uniforms is the story of the people that wore them. Staff was very nice and helpful. Worth the visit.

Branson Veterans Memorial Museum

Although we had passed by the Branson Veterans Memorial Museum before, this was our first visit. We enjoyed viewing all of the memorabilia, the various displays, the movie clips, and gift store. There is a Veteran’s discount but the admission is still a bit pricey for what is offered. I am glad we visited and was extremely moved, especially in the wall of names for the WW2 troops who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. It is worth going to. We also liked the airplane, helicopter, and troops statue in front of the parking lot.

Great museum!

This is a very well laid out museum. The bronze statue out front is something you can look at for an hour with the detail it has and the actual named people in the statue. Lots of info on the walls and displays that will leave you wishing this was a larger facility. Do not let that deter you from going! It is a very nice place to visit, the staff was amazing also.

Humbling and memorable

Even though the story being told here is a tragic one, it is truly humbling to see what the men and women of America fighting to keep our freedoms. If you think that freedom is free, this is an eye opener that it isn't. I loved every minute of walking through every display in there. I have a lot of family that have served in the military. I am grateful to each and every person who makes that sacrifice. It's a big one to make. The painting of D-Day was memorizing. My grandfather was in pearl harbor on his ship when it was hit. I can't even imagine what he saw. I plan to bring my kids up to see everything. It is amazing.

War Museum

This is a small, well done collection of war memorabilia from WWI to the Iraqi war. While mostly consisting of uniforms, there are letters, weapons, posters and entire walls containing the names of soldiers lost in battle. Very moving.

I was interested in the uniforms and the stories behind them. My husband is a history buff and it amazed him.

Respecting the soldier

It was very interesting. The items were very taken care of. Did a great job of respected the soldiers that had personal items there.

Veterans Museum

Wow. This museum is a lot bigger than it looks. My husband and I were there about 2 hours. It’s so touching, and such a great way to pay respect to our veterans. It was also extremely educational, as well as heartbreaking in some parts. We owe a lot to our veterans, and this museum is a must see to anytime who wants to learn more about our history.

Repeat visit

I visited your museum about 3 years ago, just before the pandemic. It was such an emotional experience I wanted to share it with friends, some of who found loved ones name on various walls.

It was great! Learned so much and Andre was so nice!

Andre was amazing and very helpful! Our whole family was able to go and learn so much and he was so friendly. I would highly recommend even for college kids! There’s so much to see and read about and your ticket is good for the next couple of days if you want to come back so that’s nice!

Do not miss - must see

Andre is one of the friendliest and welcoming people we met during our stay in Branson. Starts your visit out on a positive note. The museum is a comprehensive collection of artifacts stories and lists of those who didn’t survive during their service. It’s move through at your own pace and has a nice informational video to watch. It was a thought provoking journey for our teenagers.

Must visit

Awesome! Very enjoyable experience! As the son and grandson of veterans it was both a humbling and exciting time! Would recommend this to anyone who has even a passing interest in wars our country has been involved in.

Worth a stop!

Very educational place to visit. Found it to be well organized by the different wars. Lots of interesting information and memorabilia. Definitely worth a stop if you are interested in military history and get away from the craziness of the tourist traps in Branson.

Great Memorial. Well worth the visit

Extensive collection of war memorabilia from WW I to the present. 10 rooms filled. Most all items have detailed descriptions. Learned a lot of things also from the various stories on the walls… this was just great.

Wonderful for all to see and learn the correct history.

My grandson is the one who toured this museum. He spent probably four hours in there. He spoke several times with the person on duty that day asking questions and telling him about most all of the things in WW2 and Cold War section. This place is wonderful for everyone who really wants to know the correct history of the past.

History's Nerd's greatest dream

As a lover of military history, The veterans museum in Branson is amazing!. I loved every second there and got excited with every exhibit there, although I didn't get to read everything since my family had plans later. I will definitely come back another day when I can truly take my time and read everything. If you ever want to learn about World War I, II, or other past conflicts like the Vietnam War and you're in or near Branson, this is place is the best.

Must-see museum during Branson visit

My husband and I first went to the Veterans Memorial Museum when we were married in 2002. He and I were both amazed and spent about three hours taking in all of the displays. Twenty years later I brought our son along with me to see this amazing collection that honors veterans. The museum runs in chronological order beginning with WWI. There are many personal stories on display accompanying the many items on display. I would highly recommend visiting.

Andre was very welcoming and amazing This place is an amazing tribute to all Many tears were shed after visiting remembering my father who had said I needed to make sure to go. He was a Vietnam Vet. Thank you for making such a wonderful place

Great experience! Rich history!

History tends to be forgotten a lot, but love that they keep this space furnished with plenty to see and remember. Great information and pieces on display. Really loved seeing the collections and memorabilia of each time period. It is a must visit if you enjoy history!!

The friendly helpful museum staff are great. They helped accomàdate my visit from the time I walked through the door!

The exhibits provide a great experience by showing service uniforms from WWII through the present. Lots of military gear throughout the exhibit. Personal notes from the families that provided exhibits gives a great insight into the lives of military men and women. Spoiler alert... The lists of names of all the wartime casualties from WWII forward lends a somber note to your experience.

Well done presentation

My husband is a veteran (I am not), and we both enjoyed this museum. What a neat collection of uniforms all across the years! He enjoyed seeing how the uniforms changed over time. It was pretty moving. We were both impressed with how much history was gathered here. The signage gave a lot of really interesting information. Well worth it if you or someone in your group has military experience or interest.

Emotional

This is a very emotional and very respectfully done memorial to the men and women who have served our great country. It’s informative and Andre the one legged Vet that was at the counter, sorry he wanted me to put the one legged part in there, was a joy to talk with and very knowledgeable.
