Our guide Stephan made the experience memorable by explaining a lot of the history and culture of the Belfast area that was relevant to what we were seeing. He did it in a succinct and entertaining way, and also allowed quiet times to just enjoy the scenery. I felt that the tour made excellent use of our time without being hectic. We had ample time to explore at Giants Causeway and saw and learned about so much more coming and returning. I was particularly glad to see the peace walls and political murals when we returned to the city. If you only have one day to explore this tour is a wonderful option.

A guide should have been provided.

Walk to Giant's Causeway was very interesting. The driver was also the guide. Very difficult to understand him.

Glad we picked the smaller bus!

We were part of a family group of 12 people (Ages 12 to 70 years old). Our group of 12 made up almost half of the bus. I’m really glad we booked this smaller coach as it’s much quicker to get 27 people on and off the bus. The legroom was appreciated but even more so was traveling in a small group. My experience with large bus groups is that it takes forever for people to get on and off and to use the toilet when they get to a stop. And much more likely that some person on the bus will come back late. To me, full-size bus groups mean, lots of time sitting around waiting. But not so with this smaller bus. Our group on this smaller bus managed well. Our guide was very nice and gave us lots of information. The only problem was that his northern Irish accent was quite heavy and as Americans we had trouble understanding some of the words. But he was more than willing to answer questions and give suggestions. Overall, the trip was very nice.

Giants Causeway Tour

Our guide, Stephen, was the greatest. He was very knowledgeable and articulate. In addition, to a great tour of the Giants Causeway, we enjoyed the city tour of Belfast and learning about the history of the city. Would highly recommend this tour

Cruise Passengers Beware !!!

Cruise Passengers beware of this tour provider. Our ship arrived 3 hours late into port and we only found out the evening before the tour. The tour operator was completely inflexible with regard to the 24 hour cancellation policy as well as any partial refund for a 40% shortened excursion. We also contracted Viator who were completely unhelpful in any way as well. Buyer Beware.

Nature and history in one amazing day

We had an incredible day exploring the natural beauty of Giants Causeway and the Antrim coast. Parts were very misty, but as much as he wanted to, Stephen wasn’t able to control the weather. What he could control was the excellent balance of entertaining yet very informative information, with time to just take in the beautiful surroundings and he did a great job. The tour of the peace walls was very moving. The topic of The Troubles can be so hard to explain without bias, but despite him saying that he grew up here, I could never tell Catholic/Protestant, Unionist/Nationalist. He educated without blame or bias - and with lots of humor.

Excellent Tour

We did this tour with Odyssey and can’t rate it highly enough. Our tour guide Paul was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and loved cracking jokes, we even had a song from him. The tour was first class, with just about the right amount of time at each stop. If you were thinking of going to Giants Causeway from a cruise ship do not pay the ridiculous prices they charge through the cruise line, book through Odyssey instead. You will not get a better tour and at a fraction of the price. They were excellent!!!!

Northern Ireland is beautiful

First, the bus was fabulous. It truly had much legroom and I'm fairly tall, my knees could never have touched the seat in front of me. The tour itself was enjoyable and educational. Giant's causeway is both gorgeous and mind boggling. I do feel we didn't see some things advertised for the tour, but I'm assuming that's because our ship arrived later than the normal starting time. I would definitely use this company for another tour.

Giants Causeway is epic!

This was a great tour as written. The tour guide was serious and kept things moving. But at Giants Causeway, he said if everyone comes back earlier than 1.5 hours we will go to early lunch. When we got on the bus at 1.5 hours, a lady got on my face saying we were late. We signed up for this tour to see the sites, not eat lunch!!! Also there were no fairy or folk tales like the description said. Otherwise, bus is super comfy with huge windows and the guide is fine..

A day well done with Odyssey and Jim

A very nice time - we discovered with good reason that Odyssey Coach Tours was a popular choice on our cruise visit! Direct booking and confirmation were easy; for timeliness, mind that the parking lot of the port near Belfast can seem more broad and disorienting on ground in comparison to smaller port companions on a passage. Emailed details did help; we thus found our way to Odyssey's coaches and vehicles without too much confusion or delay. The tour certainly holds its own, even if on a limited schedule: we were driven by and past Belfast and whisked along the coast, dotted as described with quite picturesque towns and scenery. The Portaneevy viewpoint provides a stunning view around, and it's easy to see why Giant's Causeway is as renowned as it is. Travel was quite comfortable, particularly for the extra leg room bus: USB, WiFi, cushy seats, and with an uncrowded group size inside all while we went more or less en masse in the tourist flow. Our guide, Jim, fairly wouldn't be called on the boisterous side of the style, but no fault here - through the course of our tour he was just as informative and forthcoming as other guides and marked his narration with both deadpan wit and sincerity as needed, the latter evident as we wove our way back in the streets of Belfast. Jim also admirably kept reins on our schedule, particularly with some boorish traffic at the Causeway lot. We felt we made the most of our allotted port day - no time for Dunluce Castle, but still back with a hand's breadth of all aboard - and that was in thanks to the fact that Jim knew the read of the road and timings to make the day work. Can happily recommend this tour - do pay attention to the confirmation's other helpful notes such as that about the Causeway bus (one GBP per person each way). Great tour at reasonable price.... Very good itinerary. Guide was local and very knoledgeable. All stops and travel was comfortable and well managed.

Not To Be Missed

This was a great trip. Although it rained all day, the sites were breathtaking. Stephen was a great tour guide. He gave us a portrait of his life living in Belfast.

Amazing Giants Causeway

The scenic coastal drive was so beautiful, then the lovely rolling green hills. Unfortunately, fog rolled in for the rest of the drive to the Giants Causeway. However, it cleared when we arrived and we had excellent views of the causeway. Interesting tour of Belfast to end the trip!

Just average

I received two different vouchers from Viator for two different companies for two different pickup points. Neither company had our reservation. Once it was straightened out, we had to sit at the very back of the bus, where we could barely hear the soft voice of the bus driver/guide. Seems the back speaker was not working. The bus bathroom was out of order, but there were frequent comfort stops.

Breathtaking views.

We loved seeing the beautiful northern coast. Such amazing views. Our Driver/Guide Steven was fantastic, beating the crowds to the Causeway, he shared some Belfast history with us. This was a great shore excursion.

Fascinating tour

I'm not a fan of big bus tours, so this smaller version was ideal. Since we loaded up faster than the large ones, we got to Giants' Causeway earlier than many others. We were glad for those extra minutes, since it wasn't long before the area was overrun by a lot of other tourists. Giants' Causeway is absolutely fascinating and truly one of nature's wonders. Hard to imagine how it was even formed, given how symmetrical everything is. Well worth the visit. Pay attention to where the driver lets you off. We were one of 2 busses when we arrived, and one of around 30 when we returned. Also, plan on walking down to the causeway (if you're able) but get in line early enough to get the shuttle back up the long, steep hill on the return or you'd likely miss your bus. They take cash and cards for the return shuttle.

A great way to see the countryside

This was an amazing trip! The guide (Steven or Staten) was great and full of information! He made sure we got back to the shop in plenty of time while also ensuring we saw everything and ahead of other tours before the places got busy. The country is beautiful and the Giants Causeway was so exciting to see!!

We did the Giants Causeway tour with Stephen. He was an excellent tour guide and bus driver. He told us history in great detail and gave us pointers along the way to save time on our trip. We were very impressed with Viator and will definitely use them again!

Amazing tour guide and destination

We had the pleasure of Stephen leading our tour. He is an amazing ambassador for Northern Ireland - he shared his extensive knowledge of Belfast and the Giant Causeway area. His knowledge of the area meant we had the advantage of time on our side as well! We would repeat this tour again in a heartbeat. Stephen sets a high bar for all tour guides!! Great tour of the Giants Causeway

This was a smaller van that could see and do more than a large tour bus. The scenery was beautiful and the giants causeway was magical. The tour of Belfast was informative and moving. Our guide was entertaining, and the whole day was great!

Not your standard tour.

Stephen was amazing! He drove us to sights other tours don't do and had our interests at heart! He made sure we arrived back at port on time and adjusted the order of the tour to avoid crowds. His commentary and narration was engaging and informative. The pictures of the Causeway don't do it justice either!

Small group tour with Stephen - the best!

If you are lucky enough to have Stephen as your Guide/driver you will have the best day. He is funny, well informed and totally interested in his passengers. The Giants Causeway was amazing and walking on the stones a great adventure. Stephen made sure we understood Belfast and showed us so many places. Highly recommend this small group excursion.

We took this tour in May, and our guide was wonderful he got us to Giants Causeway very early we were one of the first buses to arrive so we we able to experience the causeway with a much smaller amount of people. when we were leaving it appeared that all the buses from the cruise ship and other places had arrived and there were a lot of people going down the hill to the causeway, We were very lucky and thankful that our guide new the right ways to go to get to the causeway early in the tour, it made it much more enjoyable. it was also great that the company met us right at the cruise port to pick up, it made it very easy.

Belfast and Giants Causeway plus more.

Our guide/driver Steve was knowledgeable, informative and fun. The bus was mid size, roomy and clean. We had a jump on the big buses and crowds. We were picked up at the cruise ship and returned in plenty of time. Highly recommend.

Excellent day in the Irish countryside

We thoroughly enjoyed our day visiting the Giants Causeway with Steven our guide. It was the perfect combination of relaxing drive through the beautiful Irish countryside and hiking on the Giants Causeway. Steven also gave us a very informative overview of “the troubles” in Belfast. We highly recommend this tour!

Nice tour

This was a great tour. We enjoyed the Giants Causeway and brief tour of Belfast. We asked about the Titanic Museum and the driver was very helpful in stopping there if anyone wanted to get off the bus to visit it and find their own way back to the ship.

Another memorable day

A fantastic tour and our driver had a great sense of humor and shared many stories.We did not go into the Titanic museum however our driver continued on with a few onboard and we went to downtown Belfast and learned a great deal of history. Visited both sides of Belfast , Cathoilic and Protestant, and we returned to our ship before he picked up the others at the museum. It was welcomed to arrive a few minutes early. Favorite tour- Causeway Belfast

There was a small mix up where we thought we were being picked up at our boat. But had to find a taxi to pick up the tour at another dock. Besides that, EXCELLENT driver/tour guide and had the most amazing day!!

Great Tour

Fantastic tour. Steven was both a great driver and an excellent guide. We learned so much about the area and got to see so many different aspects of Northern Ireland. Very glad we took this tour!

Great tour for the day

Steven was our driver and guide for the tour. He was able to cater the tour to our late arrival and still get everything in. His informative explanation and sense of humor keep us entertained and engaged.

Full day in Belfast

Steven was a fun and informative driver/guide. His stories were interesting and helped us retain a lot of detailed information. He knows the schedules of the other large bus/tour companies and was able to work around them. We were always arriving at a tourist site before or after everyone else. This gave us more access to enjoy the sites while it wasn't too crowded. The smaller bus was also more comfortable for this all day excursion. Great job!

Not my favorite tour

The tour guide, Stephen, hurried us along throughout the day, and then, at the end of the day, took us on a tour of the peace wall in downtown Belfast, which wasn’t included in the tour to my knowledge. I think he changed the entire schedule so that we would get to the peace wall which is a new tour that they were developing and we didn’t see other things that were listed on our itinerary. I was a bit disappointed in a few of the stops that he did make at the one castle that was in ruins and the small fishing town with the white steps that were in Game of Thrones. The weather was horrible, but that wasn’t his fault. I think the Giants Causeway is overrated. I was a bit disappointed.

Steve our guide was excellent, kept us up to date with what we were doing our stops, what we we could see on the way. Full of Irish humour along the way. On out return to the ship our brief sightseeing visit around Belfast sight was informative and insightful

Great Shore Excursion

The smaller bus size was really nice, it allowed us to get to the sites faster than the larger buses that took more time to load and unload. There was plenty of time to see Giant’s Causeway and take plenty of pictures. We were taken back to the ship with plenty of time to spare and the tour guide remained conscious of our all aboard time throughout the trip.

Beautiful day on the north coast

Enjoyed the Giants Causeway, as well as the far reaching commentary of our guide. Even some brief sites in Belfast added to our experience before heading back to the ship.

Giant causeway excursion

Other than the weather, which no one can control, as we got drenched, the actual excursion was very enjoyable made all the better by our driver and guide, Steve. He was informative, knowledgeable, knew his history and was also a comedian, so thank you Steve.

Best excursion & Guide!

I booked this excursion outside of the cruise line. It was the best one we went on! Steven was our driver/guide and he was great. He made sure we got to Dunluce castle area & Giants causeway before the other buses. We got to see the amazing views of both without all the crowds! The Odyssey coach bus was more comfortable with extra leg room. Steven was so knowledgeable about the whole area and told us exactly where they filmed Game of Thrones! Excellant Tour to Giants Causeway plus extras

We booked online, and the coach was waiting as we came off the ship. Stephen, our driver, was excellant and gave us balanced, impartial and knowledgable commentary along the route. We had a stop in Belfast to see the Peace Wall which I hadn't expected. Overall, a fantastic tour

Amazing Experience!

Odyssey Tours- Shore Excursion Giants Causeway Extra Legroom. We booked the tour specifically for cruise passengers on trip advisor. We had previously booked Odyssey & had to cancel at the start of the pandemic. We were reimbursed right away back then & decided to definitely use Odyssey this time. The driver & 27 passenger bus was waiting for us right after leaving the ship. Stephen, our guide & driver was there to greet us. He was very knowledgeable about the geography, and political history of the area and Belfast. Stephen was able to take us to Giants Causeway first off and opposite of the busy time. Our stops (scenic and historic) were frequent and included photo opportunities. We got back to the ship at the time promised. It was a beautiful sunny day- perfect weather! This tour was about 7 hours and very much worth the price!

Best shore excursion!

This tour was a shore excursion highlight. Jim was right there when we got off the ship. The bus ride was comfortable, everything was well paced, informative narration, great stops and photo ops, very professional, money well spent!! overall 10 out of 5 stars!!

The best of Belfast, as told by Jim the best-ever coach driver

What an excellent tour! Our driver, Jim, picked us up at the port and entertained us from the moment we walked up. After a brief delay as we waited for the last person on the tour (who never showed), we hit the road. Eight hours is a long time on a coach, but there was a lot to see, and this was one of the few tours on our holiday where we stopped for photos. Throughout our time on the coach, Jim regaled us with jokes, legends, historical and geographical anecdotes, and helpful hints. He answered any question thrown at him and kept us smiling during the whole of the tour. At each of our stops, Jim offered recommendations on where to go to get the best photos, what to eat, what was worth the money, etc. Though our tour was not exactly the same as was promised by our travel agent's site, it was a comprehensive and engaging way to see Belfast and the best of Northern Ireland. The only stress was over whether or not we'd be back to the port on time - we got back an hour or so before our ship left. The best part of the tour was our driver, Jim, who made each moment enjoyable.

Great Value. The one I would pick.

The tour was as advertised with a small coach with extra leg room. The driver Stevie was expert at getting ahead of the big buses allowing us to get the restrooms, snack stops and Giants Causeway before the crowds. No lunch stop was included but plenty of time to get refueled. Lots included and well worth the price.
