Odyssey Tours, Belfast

Best way to do this trip is on a smaller coach as less people to round up after the stops. Our driver, Paul, was superb! Took the time to ask everyone’s names on board and interacted with everyone! The craic was excellent! He was a very knowledgeable guide and I’d highly recommend this trip. The scenery was superb 👌

Wonderful day

Excellent tour of Giants Causeway, Bushmill Distillery quick stop, an abandoned castle, dark hedges featured in game of thrones. Paul, our guide was very funny, great stories, very knowledgeable. A great way to see the Giants Causeway without the hastle of driving and finding a place to park. Highly recommend,

First class day out

First class day out. Great value for money. Loved everything we saw. Driver Paul was hilarious and knowledgeable. The walk from the bus to the Causeway was long but we got the courtesy bus back. The other stops on the route were fabulous. Highly recommended day out

A Great Way to see the Northern Coast and sites

We truly enjoyed our day on this small coach tour! Only 14 of us on board and Paul, our driver/guide did a great job driving us and sharing great information and stories along the way. The sites were all enjoyable and we had ample time to explore the Giants Causeway. If you don’t bring food/snacks or drinks there will be opportunity to purchase but we were happy to have brought our own. We did enjoy a coffee at our first stop and a pint at the causeway. Additionally we got to know some other nice travelers who were on the tour. All in all, a great day!

Spectacular day tour!

This was a 10/10 tour! Steve was an unbelievable tour guide. We had ample time at each stop and he knew all the tips! The drive was smooth and beautiful. Would recommend to anyone!

Too many tour buses, too many tourists

Two commercial and touristy for me. I’m a solo traveler usually. I hitchhike through Africa alone . Why did I take the tour because I was traveling alone? I thought maybe it would be away for me to see the coast of northern Ireland

Very experienced tour guide, some stops felt more express-lane to prioritize having more time to explore the Causeway

We went with this tour for the price and time frame (lunch stop not included, so you get back a bit earlier). This tour (run by Odyssey tours) prioritized having time to explore the Causeway, which was our main interest. Our guide (forget his name, started with an R, sorry!) utilized his years of experience to strategize our stops/departure times. A lunch stop was not included but included an early rest stop at a market where the guide recommended grabbing food to eat at the Causeway, which is what most everyone on the bus did. A smaller bus, excellent driver with great insider knowledge. He was well-versed in the schedules the tour buses follow so he was able to make sure we were arriving a few minutes early to use bathrooms/get into attractions before the huge crowds arrived. He even knew which stops would be preferred for bathrooms (ie which ones will be the longest lines, which ones the shops will want you to buy something first, etc). We were primarily on this tour for the Giant's Causeway, so to have almost 2 hours to explore and then have a little picnic on the stones was much more special to us. While not a Game of Thrones tour, our guide had a lot of facts and information about filming and the locations. Dunluce Castle was a less-than-5-minute photo stop, and Dark Hedges was a pretty scene but did involve a bit of walking from where we parked to the actual Hedges. Our time alotted (about half an hour) was not enough time to walk all the way to the end of the path and back (if that's what you want; we walked halfway and that was enough for us), but it was enough to get the famous picture. The Carrick-a-rede (rope bridge) stop was just a vista point looking down on the island/bridge from afar- the guide explained it had largely shut down since Covid and pointed out a barrier set up that prevents tour buses from getting to it. Was pleasantly surprised we stopped at Bushmills (May 2024) because previous reviews said it was being skipped. It was additional to purchase a tasting, which we did, but the stop was fairly brief, so we were a little rushed to taste and purchase a bottle. Overall, a lovely ride through the countryside with a knowledgeable guide. It can get a bit windy at times with occasional sharp braking due to the narrow road, so take precautions if you get carsick. We left promptly at 9 and returned around 4:30, which was nice to not return too late.

History relayed by Steve!

DC Tours was the operator of the tour and Steve was the guide. Steve articulately shared with us the rich history of Belfast as we walked its City Center streets and stopped at several points of interest. He also gave recommendations of restaurants, sandwich shops, local bars, coffee shops and whiskey stores. Learning Belfast's history made me appreciate the city even more.

Terrible

We were literally two minutes late to the pickup location and the van left without us. Odyssey should be embarrassed to take our money.

Antrim coastal tour

Mini bus was so comfy, our tour guide Paul was fantastic, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. The Antrim coastal road was simply stunning, even though weather wasn’t at its best. Points of interest were great, especially Giant’s Causeway… we both enjoyed every minute, highly recommend this to all ages 👍🏼

Fantastic day out - highly recommended.

This was such a fabulous trip from Belfast city centre. Our driver & guide was so considerate in every way & his knowledge of not only the locations but also the roads leading to them was amazing. The weather was pretty poor on the day but this really didn’t spoil the trip at all. The Giants Causeway was of course the hi light of the day & it didn’t fail to impress but the other stops were very interesting too. I would highly recommend this company - a fantastic day out, thank you.

A fantastic day out…..

Had a fabulous day out doing the beautiful Antrim coast and the Giants Causeway on one of the smaller buses with Stephen as our guide. The scenery is stunning and thankfully after a damp start to the day the sun came out for us!! You stop at a really good Spar shop to get sandwich’s / iron rations for the day . Very well organised, Stephen is a fabulous guide, and will give you all the info you need on bathroom breaks etc. highly recommend this company. Such a fantastic day seeing the most beautiful scenery…..

Highly recommend - brilliant tour!

Fantastic tour! Packed lots in but also didn’t feel rushed. We had plenty of time in each location and it was never super busy. Really great tour guide with lots of memorable anecdotes, history and jokes to keep us entertained during the journey. Highly recommend

Stephen our guide was entertaining and informative. He provided an easy to understand explanation about the north south split. The locations were great made all the better by sunny weather. Well worth the trip.

Great tour with Stephen. He was very knowledgeable & has a great sense of humour! He told us lots of interesting facts, not only about the places we visited but also the history of Ireland. The coach was very comfortable and being a smaller coach not such a big crowd which was nice.

Happy with our choice of coach company.

So many coach tour options, happy we picked Odyssey. Highly recommend doing the small coach tour. Doesn't cost a lot more to upgrade and you will appreciate it as you watch all the big coaches loading and unloading. Also makes the overall tour shorter as the smaller bus can navigate the narrow roads easier. Highlights of the tour are the Giants Causeway and the scenery. Our guide was good. Luckily, we had great weather. Tips are to pack a lunch/snacks/drinks and if possible, avoid cruise days.

Paul, our driver, was a star.....more than made up for challenging weather

Albeit the weather was not the best, was a great trip and got to see all the planned sites. Paul, our driver, was a highlight......he provided a great mix of stories and history and did his utmost to get us to key sights away from the large tour groups

Wonderful tour!

This was a wonderful bus tour. I highly recommend going to the Giants causeway, it is so beautiful and the stops we made a long the way were great. Paul was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and friendly, he made us laugh so much. Book this tour! You won’t regret it!

Great way to see a lot

Overall I would recommend the tour. First, I liked the smaller bus and group vs. Traveling in one of those 50+ capacity large coach busses. The driver, Paul, was helpful and knowledgeable, but most of all was very concerned about everyone’s experience (for instance he went out of his way to ensure one of the guest was safe and sound when she did not come back to the bus, while trying not to wreck the tour for all others). The tour was long, but had plenty of stops with time to stretch our legs, buy refreshments and use restrooms. All but one of the sights were amazing and worth visiting. The one exception was due to the very foggy weather which made it impossible to see the castle (the plan was to stop at a lookout to see the castle, not actually go into the castle.) The one negative was the lack of a good sound system in the bus, which made it difficult to hear what Paul was saying at times, but if he turned it up there was annoying feedback. He did try his best to make it work, which I appreciated as he had a good sense of humor and told funny stories.

Awesome tour

This was a great tour. The sites we visited were amazing. The ride was comfortable, and our driver was knowledgeable and very entertaining. Highly recommend.

Small group tours well worth it!

The small group tour is the way to go! Our tour guide knows how to avoid the crowds arriving at each stop on the large buses, while giving us plenty of time at each stop. Made for a lovely day, even for those of us who haven’t watched Game of Thrones.

Great day of history, landscapes, nature, and storytelling

It was an awesome day, great coach - clean and comfortable, our guide was funny and informative, charming and interesting. He really made the trip special. His knowledge and storytelling about the history of the country was a pleasant surprise. I can’t recommend this trip enough. While the sun was out for most of the day, the mist at the Causway was beautiful. I would do this tour again tomorrow.

Informative, entertaining and comfortable day tour to Giant's Causeway

Very comfortable coach. Stephen's commentary was informative and entertaining and he gave us lots of tips to get the most of our day. Really enjoyable day with Giants causeway as the highlight. The only thing that Stephen could not control was the weather which sadly meant a heavy fog obscured some of the views. Nevertheless would thorough recommend this smaller coach trip.

Amazing day trip 10/10

From start to finish this tour hit all the right notes. Our driver/guide, Paul, was welcoming, knowledgeable, entertaining and kept the group interested throughout with his sense of humour adding to the experience. There was enough time given at each stop with The Giants Causeway being the main event which was superb, even the dolphins decided to put in an appearance! A lovely day with fab weather along with a great group on the bus. Special shout out to the four ladies at the front of the bus which provided us all with their own brand of added entertainment. The bus itself was spotless and comfortable with loads of leg room which we really appreciated. Thank You fellow passengers and a Hugh Thank You to Paul for the day out. Loved it.

Great day trip to Giants Causeway

This was a really fun day trip! Our tour guide, Paul, was excellent. The weather was beautiful! The drive up along the coastal route was lovely. All the stops were well thought out and gave ample time to explore. I would definitely recommend this tour.

worth the money

the whole tour was amazing from start to finish, the group was small around 20 with a maxium of 28 and the couch was large with plenty of leg room and space to relax. the driver had so much information and explained everything in detail as we were going along and even added in some jokes. Would very much recommend

It was a great tour at such a good price, the driver Steven was hugely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Had enough time at all the stops and the Giants Causeway is so worth it!

Excellent Tour

The guide was very knowledgeable of the area. We left early that day and it was extremely helpful to beat the crowds at some of the sites.

It's alright

It's good but it doesn't include tickets that go into the causeway visitor center nor the Bushmills distillery. It's a bit bare bone otherwise the tour guide is good and the group is about 25

Itinerary falsely advertised

I can not recommend this tour. We booked it specifically because the itinerary stated that it stopped for 35 minutes at Dunluce Castle, which was a site we very much wanted to see. When we arrived at Dunluce Castle we were shocked when the driver told us we were only stopping for a photo...less than 5 minutes. We complained to Viatour and asked for a refund, as we would not have booked this tour had we been given accurate information. We have yet to receive a refund. I would not trust this tour to meet your expectations

Beautiful Northern Ireland

Giant's Causeway, Dark Hedges ... My top 2 favs. The bus driver (Paul) was amazing. Would have been nice to checkout the Dunluce Castle, rather than just a 5 minute stop at a cliff overlooking it. And I really wanted to walk the rope bridge... But, that was not available.

Great introduction to Northern Ireland's nature

Paul, who was our driver/guide, made the drive so much more interesting and funny. Great guy and always helpful. The tour gives you a great insight of what Northern Ireland's coast and countryside have to offer. Obviously you will spend some time driving around, but we knew that - that's why a cool bus driver is a nice plus. The most stops you make are for taking some pictures and exploring the area for like 20-30 minutes. The main highlight is the Giant's causeway and we spent around 2 hours here, which was fine to explore the rock formations, go to the cliffs (we even spottet dolphins) and take lots of pictures.

Paul - our driver/tour guide was warm, friendly, informative and courteous at all times, his information was excellent, in the right measures and his driving was reassuringly comfortable. The stops were the right amount for the length of tour, and he was always happy to answer queries. He made the day fun, the tour was excellent - good choice of stops

A definite must see!

It was a great tour unfortunately the weather wasn’t very helpful. So some of the sites were not visible. But the Giants Causeway was great! Our driver Stephen was great as well as the extra leg room in the coach!
