Game of Thrones Locations Tour including Westeros & Giant's Causeway

This was a great tour Hugh our driver was awesome I loved how he had a soundtrack for the tour, made it extra special.

Great day out

We booked this tour via Virgin Experience days and I think it is fantastic value for money. Our driver Dave was great, he was informative, funny and gave us enough time at each stop. We stopped in loads more places than I thought we were going to. The tour didn’t feel as “game of thrones-y” as I had expected but to be honest I can’t quite put my finger on why as we still visited the locations (with the exception of the caves as they as closed to visitors til May). Lunch was fine but I think quite expensive so if you can bring with you do that instead (just note you’d have to eat outside if you do that). The Giants causeway was our last stop and we really enjoyed the walk despite the torrential downpour upon our arrival! Make sure you wear clothes for wet weather- it was mostly sunny during our tour but torrential downpours and muddy terrain. Thanks again to Dave, would recommend this tour to anyone visiting NI, even if not game of thrones fans.

Great locations! Fun tourguide!

Even through the typical Irish weather of 5 mins sun / 5 mins sideways rain, the tour was still absolutely enjoyable as the locations we went to were amazing and also because of our tourguide/driver, Dave. He was very knowledgeable, had lots of stories and was really fun!

Brilliant tour

This is a great tour, visiting lots of places en route to The Giant's Causeway including some that featured in Game of Thrones. The on board commentary from Liza was really informative and we learned so much. The Antrim coast is stunning. Unless you're a member of National Trust, you have to pay over £13 to enter the visitor experience and with not much else there to visit the only option for a brew and snack is the hotel opposite (or spend more time on the Causeway). Thoroughly enjoyed it and it's a great way to get a taste of what Northern Ireland has to offer.

It was great, very interesting and informative. The coastal landscape was amazing. GoT experience was fun.

Fun day

Dave was a friendly, funny and helpful tour guide, we truly appreciated him. The tour took us to many sights, lovely day!

Excellent One Day tour of Northern Ireland coastal towns and sites.

The tour was a great way to see the Giants Causeway. It took the scenic route out there from Belfast along the coast passing through multiple charming small Irish towns and stopping at several sites. There is no need to have watched Game of Thrones to appreciate every locale visited. The amount of time at each site was about right considering the distance traveled and total time of the tour. Lunch was at The Hedges Hotel. 13 pounds for a large amount of food from a buffet. Reasonable quality. Our driver Dave was excellent. He's knowledgeable about Game of Thrones and the sites in Ireland. He's also a comedian and an excellent bus driver. My wife especially appreciated the way he integrated a wide variety of recorded songs into his presentation.

Excellent and Fun Tour

We had Stuart for our combination GOT and northern sites tour and he was incredible! He was so well spoken, funny, and informative. We had an excellent day and learned so much. Thanks Stuart!

Our driver David was great! He did an excellent job narrating trip. The stops were scenic and beautiful. Giants Causeway is amazing!

Spectacular

Giants Causeway was spectacular and may have been the highlight of our trip (Cruise of the Briotish Isles). And the Game of Thrones stops and locations were a fun addition to the tour and will probably encourage us to watch the show again so we see the scens as they were in the series.Our driver, Dave, was amazing with his driving skills and his tour guide stories.

Hits all the major sites

Absolutely loved how inclusive this tour was! We saw so many sites. It was a long day and it was a bit disappointing that the rope bridge was closed. I do wish it was made clearer in the description that there is a fair amount of walking required to reach the actual sites. Also that you should bring some cash with you. Very disappointing that the only gift shop at the Giants Causeway charges an entrance fee since it is in the Visitors Center. The bus itself was completely full and the seats are a bit narrow. It did get quite warm in the bus at times. Our driver, David, was an absolute gem and an amazing driver! I would not recommend this tour for anyone with small children. They will be bored to tears.

Excellent guide and a great tour

It's not a GoT tour

As a general tour, this was was fine. The guy giving our tour on the coach was friendly and informative, the regular stops broke up the journey and was overall a nice experience (good driver). However, this was not really a Game of Thrones tour. I booked this with my dad as we are both fans of the show and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone actually hoping to hear a bit about GoT. The description says "insider information" from the guide (he clearly had never watched the show and only mentioned that were going to filming locations, nothing else about the spots), props for photos at the dark hedges which were not prompted or provided, we didn't go to Balintoy Harbour because it is apparently hard to access from the coach, and there was little mention of the show throughout. So whilst the sights were beautiful I could have booked a different tour and actually had a GoT tour, skip this tour and find something different.

A lovely Day Out

It was a wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. The places we went were beautiful and rich in history.

Viator has great tours,

First let me say, I've used Viator tours many times in many countries and I have always been extremely satisfied. However, this time I feel it was poorly run. The people running the operation did a terrible job of communicating. For example when you checked-in, they tell you to go stand in front and they will come get you when it's time to go and they will escort you to the bus. Well they have 3 tours going, about 90 people waiting and standing on the sidewalk on a major intersection, when one guy walks out, doesn't say anything and just starts walking down the street. Half the people follow him and half the people stay back. Some people start to panic so one woman runs back inside and the guy inside tells her, "Ya, everyone should follow him". So everyone walks a block and a half away, they all board the bus and now there aren't enough seats. We wasted a half hour while the guy on the bus did name checks and telephone calls and got people off and rerouted them to other busses. Then we could not do one stop because the bus was too big to fit down one of the roads. Our tour guide Ronnie did a great job and our driver Dave did an excellent job driving. Viator tours are very good and I highly recommend them. My issues is with this tour operator "Irish Tours". They did a terrible job. They have no organizational skills. They're situated on the corner of two major intersections. They have no waiting room and sending everyone outside to wait and not maintaining communication with your customers is no way to run a business.

A must for Game of Thrones fans (with the added bonus of the Giant’s Causeway.

A great day out. This tour showcases the best Northern Ireland has to offer. Our driver/guide Stuart was an excellent ambassador for his country.

Nice day

The cave where the Red Queen gave birth. Food at the hotel was terrible but the Dark Hedge pantry looked better.

Well organised, fun Game of Thrones locations tour with very friendly & informative guide!

We had a great Game of Thrones bus tour from Belfast with Tessa and Hugh, leaving at 9am and back at 5.45pm.  A well priced, full day, packed with information about the myths and legends associated with the various sites we stopped at, plus how the locations relate to GoT. Whether or not you're a Game of Thrones fan, this tour is great. Tessa was entertaining, friendly, engaging and fun and she had a great rapport with our driver, Hugh who was also lovely. We're first time visitors to N Ireland and this was the perfect 'taster'of the coastal route between Belfast and the Giant's Causeway. Our highlight was of course the Giant's Causeway - we didn't spend the extra £13.50 to visit the National Trust Visitor Centre and we don't feel that we missed out on anything. It was also great to see where Euron Greyjoy died in the series, where Arya climed out of the  water after being attacked by the Waif. Exactly as described on the website. We had enough time at every spot and the tour was fantastically organised from start to finish. Even when we arrived at the tourist info shop to wait for the coach the guy inside was helpful and clear with his instructions. Tessa talked to us the perfect amount, giving us tips and anecdotes, but also let us nap on the way back to Belfast when we really needed it after our busy day! The option of a buffet style lunch at The Hedges - an additional £11.95 pp on the day - was a good deal for our money (selection of chicken goujons, chips, rice, lasagne and garlic bread although we were told this changes day to day). The coach was clean and comfortable. A huge thank you for a lovely day - I'd recommend it to all! Great place to stay for a few days sight seeing in Belfast. Really spacious, comfortable and very clean. It was only the two of us but there would definitely have been enough room for 4 - a great size. Really great location - very close to the city centre as well as Ulster Museum/ Queen's Uni and the Botanic Gardens. There's a little Tesco around the corner with good opening hours which came in handy. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Laura was really helpful  quick to respond on the Airbnb chat and clear with all instructions. And thank you for the local restaurant recommendations in the little visitor's book! Brilliant tour - so worthwhile, personal and unique. Great to get a personal perspective on the conflict in the north of Ireland. Our guide/driver, Kevin, was honest and frank and taught us more in 2 hours than we've ever learnt about the politics and situation in Belfast before. Hearing the stories behind the murals was really powerful, especially from someone so passionately political. Worth every penny and more, and thanks to Kevin for dropping us at Kelly's which we loved!

Dissapointing tour

I was really looking forward to this tour as I'm a GOT fan and I was looking forward to hearing stories about the show, The driver had one story, he drove Maisey Williams to a location site, once. That was his story. The bus had no way to charge your phones or WiFi. The tour guide spent the first 15 minutes explaining why we wouldn't be going to one of the site listed on the tour because they were charging for parking and the tour company was not going to pay for that. So we missed the rope bridge site, even though it was still listed on the web up to the day we took the tour. I did not feel like I got my moneys worth.

Super tour.

Although we have never seen Game of Thrones we still thoroughly enjoyed all the places we visited. The fact that the sites were connected to G of T was irrelevant, they were all interesting in their own right.

Great day out

Fantastic tour , Lisa the guide was very knowledgeable and very clear with times to be back on coach after each stop . Very enjoyable day and great value. Steve the driver was excellent too , very friendly great chap :-) would definitely recommend.

YOU GOTTA DO THIS TOUR!

What an amazing day. Stuart was extremely knowledgable regarding every aspect of the tour with just the right amount of humour thrown in. I haven't watched GOT but found all the locations and Stuart's commentary really interesting. Highlight of the day - THE POD OF DOLPHINS WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO CATCH SIGHT OF - BRILLIANT.

Loved our Game of thrones tour

Enjoyed every part of the tour and loved the views of the coastal drive, we even got to see dolphins on the way to the Giant causeway. Belfast surroundings were amazing and Stuart our tour guide was wonderful.

Worth it

It was a great experience. Our driver Stuart was knowledgeable. Trip was comfortable and provided ample time to visit each location.

Not a bad experience

Not sure why rope bridge was not covered. We returned Belfast before 1 hour even thought the returning time was at 6.30pm. Could have spent atleast 1 hour there.

It was ok

The bus driver gave some great info but it was also a relief on the return to Belfast that he finally stopped talking. We hadn’t realised that we would t get to go the caves or into any of the castles - just photos opps from a distance. The lunch stop at the dark hedges was far too long - if you’re not eating there is literally nothing to do once you’ve seen the trees! Giants causeway was the highlight

Disappointed

As all excursions, we have to understand that minutes are crucial and we usually don’t have enough time to see everything in depth . That is ok ! But what made me really disappointed was the fact that , on the first stop, the tour guide simply left the place without me and my friends ! We were about 5 min late . When we saw the bus going away, we run after it and started screaming !!! Then , he stopped the bus and let us get in . I just wondered why he had not counted the number of people cause then he would have realized that there were 3 people missing !!! .. Anyway, what if he had not seen us and had not stopped? Such a lack of attention

Beautiful Giants Causeway

Great tour! Good use of time. Lunch was good and we’ll coordinated. We enjoyed Giants Causeway the most.

WONT GET TO PLACES YOU PAID FOR

Perhaps changing the name of the tour and the listed places to visit. The guide, Gavin, has little knowledge of Game of Thrones and uninterested on providing details related to GOT. Did NOT explore Cushendun Caves. Did NOT go to Carrick-Rede Bridge. A couple was late for 1 minute and shamed them. Yes 1 minute. The tour is ok but NOT what we paid for.

Enjoyable but need more GOT

Coach driver/tour guide was great, he was friendly and informative telling us facts about Belfast as we were driving to locations as well as telling us fables and myths. The coach was comfortable however 2 of the seats we sat on were actually broke! The first location was Carrickfergus Castle which was nice but not a must see, no relevance to GOT and only view from the outside for a quick photo. Next was Carnlough harbour which was sweet and a good photo opportunity to see the steps in GOT. We were looking forward to seeing the Cushenden Caves which was involved in GOT but didn’t realise the coach tour didn’t involve this during the Winter months, this was disappointing as we drove past it! The Dark Hedges were cool to see. We went to a viewing point to see the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge was good to see, just a massive shame it was closed as that would of been a great location to stop at properly rather than a quick photo from a distance. Next was lunch at the Fullerton Arms which was lovely. Giants Causeway was brilliant, enjoyed the guided tour and then had time to explore freely although could have spent longer there! Great sight to see and fab location for photos. Lots of uphill/downhill walking but shuttle bus also available. Lastly was a stop at a viewing point to see Dunluce Castle which was a quick stop for a photo opp. The journey was smooth and enjoyable, but would of liked a few more GOT related stops.

Great mix of Heritage and HBO

This was fantastic value for the money and the guide Stuart (the correct way to spell it) was absolutely brilliant. Informative and funny.

Great coastal tour with some G0T locations.

This was a really enjoyable tour, visiting some of the filming locations of GoT as well as the stunning Giants Causeway. Our tour guide confessed that he didn't know much about GoT but that didn't diminish from the tour itself. Great location for lunch ( with swords and capes on the iron throne) and just the right amount of time spent at each stop. Some informative stories on the coach really helped pass the time. Would definitely recommend.

Troy, our driver absolutely made our trip. He was just wonderful. 100% recommend this trip. I’m a huge GoT fan & loved every part of this tour.

A GOT tour you should try

Really enjoyed this tour. That despite the heavy rain that followed us around. Troy was our guide/driver and he was wonderful. If you’re a GOT fan, take this tour. The White Wall, Arya’s harbor steps, Melisandre’s cave, King’s Road & Castle Pike…you’ll have a great time. And the Giant’s Causeway is beautiful.

Great Tour !!!!!

I highly recommend this tour. It covers so much in such a short time. It takes you to many of the sites where Game of Thrones was filmed and of course the Great Causeway.

Game Of Thrones And Giants Causeway Tour

The entire tour was memorable. Our tour guide Shurt was excellent and was very entertaining. We really enjoyed see the beautiful Northern Ireland coast and all the stops on the tour. I would recommend this tour highly.

Not what was expected…

I would give this a 5-star rating had it been accurate in what it advertises. There are no capes or swords…corny I know but I was really looking forward to this! There is NO stop at Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge!!! This was my MAIN REASON for booking this trip on my one available day. I was told by the tour company the National Trust no longer allows groups in vans or tour buses, only cars with small parties. It is no fault of the company Irish Tours…I was told this rule has been in place for two years and they have notified all their third-party booking companies, but they continue to FALSELY advertise this as part of the experience both in words and pictures. Irish Tours were great…I just wanted the tour I booked and paid for…ugh!

Interesting beautiful sites a lot of fun

Brian W was a fantastic, natural guide with a great sense of humour. He had the perfect measure in his delivery. He was also patient (a long day), respectful & made sure everyone was safe & enjoying themselves; this in turn reflected back on the group & so created a very positive atmosphere in the bus. He & Stephen (excellent bus driver) we’re a great team. The GoT tour was wonderful- The Antrim coast and all sites visited were remarkable. GoT Tour was one of my best experiences in Ireland. It was a great tour. As a...

It was a great tour. As a game of throne fan, I totally geeked out on the beautiful filming locations. I quickly learned that they combined ppl who had booked for the GoT tour with ppl who just wanted to see the Giant Causeway and not necessarily even knew about the series. I was expecting more hyped passengers but the tour guides didn’t even offer the costumes advertised in the tour description. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. If you are a hard core GoT fan, I’d recommend researching another tour that’s truly dedicated to the show.

Must visit for everyone!

A fun and enjoyable day trip

I greatly enjoyed this trip. The driver, Stuart, knew so many tidbits and facts about Game of Thrones and the filming in Northern Ireland, it was a treat to hear it all. The only downside was that there wasn't a lot of time at each stop, which was fine for the most part, but I would have loved extra time at the Dark Hedges. The tour company combined this tour with another so we ended up adding Bushmills brewery to the tour. If we had not gone to Bushmills, we probably could have found more time for the Game of Thrones stops. But overall, it was a great day trip.

Brian is the best

Brian was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and fun which made the tour very enjoyable. His corny ass jokes didn’t fail to put a smile on everyone’s face. Definitely good value for the experience. I recommend booking this tour and I will definitely be back for another.

Stuart is awesome

Stuart was an amazing tour guide. So funny and kept us engaged while we were on the road between locations. He made the tour, honestly. The locations were cool and we took 100s of photos. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and it was the highlight of our trip.

Misleading advertising!

The your is great the driver guide even better. But ….,, we booked this tour at Viator instead of somewhere else because the promise of the rope bridge. That is not accessible for bus tours! So that was a big disappointment and that is why we can’t give a high score review

Excellent day out

Stuart the coach driver was excellent. He kept his cool even when the coach broke down. He kept everyone’s spirits up and kept us well informed of what was happening.

Did not cover mentioned attractions

The tour did not cover carrick rope bridge despite being there in the plan. After the trip started, the guide informed that they will not be able to cover carrick rope bridge. I am disappointed as the cancellation should be mentioned before. I booked this tour specially because it covered rope bridge and giant causeway.

Giants causeway tour

Excellent tour.. well worth the day. 9 hours of packed sightseeing and snippets of background and history. Lovely tour guide Lisa and driver Paddy made it a very friendly day.
